Aaron had gotten to his dorm right after the opening ceremony,he had counted he'd be in the same dorm as last year. He was right, although this year he'd be getting a new roommate. Jacob, his previous roommate, had transferred to somewhere in Los Angeles the previous winter, leaving him alone for half of the year. It would be great to have another buddy again. Someone to play jokes on, stay up watching horror movies past midnight with, oogle at the girls at St. Catherines with, it'd be like Christmas, but a person!
Reaching his room, he was disappointed to see he was the first one there. Damn, he'd have to wait. What now? He didn't feel like rummaging through all his stuff to get his games or music player, and he didn't want to nap in case he missed the new guy. Opening up the dresser drawers, he found the darts and dartboard he'd stashed there before, in case he got this room again. Perfect! Now he'd have something to do.
Tack!
The sound of a dart hitting the wall resounded throughout the room, except that this dart in particular had missed the newcomer's nose by maybe an inch. Aaron jumped a bit at the door opening unexpectedly, throwing the dart before he'd meant to. Seeing the the newcomer wasn't hurt, he cracked out a grin.
"Yo, ever heard of knocking? I almost gave you a new piercing for free right there, jeez! Made me miss a bullseye too. You must be my new roommate. I read your name on the roster, but I've forgotten it by now. I'm Aaron, Aaron Bryce. My dad's a professor up at the college. Are you new here?" he asked, talking pretty fast and overly-friendly for usual.
