*gets out the old, dusty tome and blows off some dust from its cover*

*sneezes from the dust, grabs kerchief and blows his nose into it before dropping it into his bag of holding*

    Yes yes...now, let's see...Where to begin?

Shall I start at the very beginning, where my first memories of the world were first made? Or shall I instead move forward through the pages of time, and start somewhere in the middle?

*pauses and waits, then gets an annoyed look on his face before sighing in defeat*

...Oh, very well. *opens the tome and flips through its pages*

I happened to stumble upon your little corner of cyberspace by pure chance, either my GoogleFu has once again failed me or it came up with this brilliantly produced result known as the "Roleplayers Guild". But, I digress. I've been writing fanfic for a very long time now, dating all the way back to 1986. From a roleplaying standpoint, if you count my experiences with the original pen-and-paper D&D (yes, first and second editions) I'll claim the same length of time when it comes to any sort of knowledge. Yes, I'm a gamer as I noted on my profile; the first true arcade game I played was the original "Skydiver" and that was in 1979.

Cynicism, sarcasm, and wit are my only means of defense (and offense) when it comes to dealing with gormless twits who continually like to foul up their computers, then conveniently shift the blame to me because they failed to understand that you can't go surfing your favorite *cough* adult sites *cough* without needlessly exposing your web browser to the latest (and oft-undefined) vulnerability. But, for an old Alpha Geek like me, I guess I can't complain *too* loudly as it pays the bills and provides for my family. Why am I a self-described "Alpha Geek", you may ask? Well, I've been a gamer pretty much all of my life, and I've been employed in the Information Technology sector since 1997. I don't see myself retiring from the field anytime soon, to be honest.

Which genres or "universes" have I roleplayed in? Mostly sci-fi or fantasy. To break it down some more, there's the Warcraft universe, Dragonlance universe, Star Wars, Forgotten Realms; currently I'm involved in three different Dragonriders of Pern RP forums and one Stargate RP forum. But I wouldn't mind joining in the fun here, and hopefully explore new horizons with the whole lot of you.

*closes the tome and sneezes again at the sudden dust cloud*

Welcome to the Guild, Kendrall. I hope you find plenty of RP to enjoy here. I think I saw someone looking for a dragon Riders of Pern RP not too long ago, but we have plenty of active users and I am certain you will find something fun to RP here. If you have any questions about how things are done around here just ask, plenty of helpful people around to answer. I do suggest you read this Guide just to see how things are set up just in case it is different from what you are used to. Let me know if I can be of any assistance. Happy RPing.
My amazing Profile Picture is a gift from Estoc. Thank you, I am honored!

Ah, thank you, Lillian. I'm not sure if I could technically handle a fourth DRoP RP at this point in time, but I'm leaning more towards some RP that's based on the Dragonlance novels. Probably pre-Cataclysm. I'll post up in the appropriate forums.
