I'm just opening a "working" OOC so that we can start messing around in here. I'm dropping in a bunch of old info in a hider, but really I want to start talking a little about some of the decisions for the RP that are going to affect us all. I'll get to those shortly.

Let me start by saying – feel free to ask ANY and ALL questions about the RP. If you are confused ask. The only thing I ask is that if your question relates to the underlying plots in your dreamscape – ask it in a PM with me. Or IM on YIM – we can talk however you want to. I just want to keep your individual dreamscapes under wraps, so that for the other players it will seem like watching a mini movie to some degree….

You’re character has been invited to attend a study administered by the scientist at Baylor University on the powerful effects of the human mind on the body when reacting to a certain set of circumstances – contained with a dreamscape. You will pack up and come to the facility for 6 weeks, interacting with the other players while on campus (do whatcha want), but you will paint the colors of the RP with your responses/reactions to the dreamscapes you are fed.

He/She/It (jk) would be a college student between 18-24ish… make them whoever you want them to be – have fun. The dreams will not have any bearing on who your character is before they show up to the experimentation facility. The dreams we are creating for experimentation are farmed – false – a set of situations/circumstances that you will react to and play out. You’ll totally be like, “Ahhhhh” when you get the PM details from me soon

When you arrive and get settled, the experimentation will began shortly thereafter. You will be offered 1 of 6 colored pills. The color you choose will determine the dream-scape reality you are presented with. You will have the opportunity to respond to that dreamscape (set of circumstances) each time you come in for your daily experimentation period (I’ll put you to sleep and you’ll (we'll) post away).

You will live out the reality presented to you within your dreams. I will assign you (via PM) a human experience that we don’t always get to see (vulgar or disturbing) and will spin your dream reality through PM’s – allowing the other players to see only the picture you paint, and never my nudging and spins to your individual plot. First come, first serve on the pills (only 1 of each color/experience).

This is high casual/low adv so just follow the rules and post at least twice a week. No less than 2 paragraphs please.

I promise you at the end of the RP I’ll pull out a few cards that will collective make you stand up and go, “WHAT THE HELL JUST HAPPENED….”

I will inform you of your dreamscape and give you more detailed information via PM after you've chosen your color.

I will be creating “families” for the characters in the dreamscape and will play your minor characters for you and you will be helping me with this. These are NPC's and I'll be playing all of them.

MY CS will be the head Psychologist and will guide and direct you (the college kids) if anything needs to happen in that part of the RP. I will invite you to come into the “lab” one at a time for your daily experiment – or semi-weekly experiment. Still working on the timing.

I will be working with each of you over the next day or so to inform you of your dreamscape and for some of you – I might have questions that I need answered to formulate the rest of the picture of your dreamscape. We will work together on that. I have the colored pills assigned to an individualized dreamscape and depending on which color you choose, (first come, first serve) – you’ll get assigned to that respective dreamscape.

Let me explain a few things: (If this is repetative, good - you need to understand what's happening...)

There are 2 parts to the RP – the real world at the experimentation facility, where you will play your CS – college student that has agreed to be a part of the study.

There is also the dreamscape – that I will work with you on – ongoing. You will have a set of circumstances that you will “play” out in the dreamscape, and myself and/or scarface will play your minor dreamscape characters.* We will flesh all of that out later. I will be creating “families” for the characters that will be titled, “Dreamscape – Black – Kate” (for Kate, because she is the black pill) here at the front of the OOC. There will be a “family” for each of you – your CS and all the minors (played by me) will be in the “family” as well. You’ll see how this works as soon as I create the first. You’re only part here is to create your CS.

Note: When you are posting always use 3rd person – the CS’s name (he/she is fine if you’ve used the CS name once in the post) – also… when we are at the facility in what we will refer to as “the real world” – you are your CS and just live, mingle – do whatever you like… MY CS will be the head Psychologist and will guide and direct you (the college kids) if anything needs to happen in that part of the RP. Name: Kenny Tran
Age: 21

Major in college: Creative Writing

Personality: Kenny is a happy-go-lucky kind of fellow who is always in the service of others. He puts his time out there and usually has no kind of self-preservation system. But growing up his own traumatizing life incidents have made him witty and defensive of those he believes can't stick up for themselves. but in actuality, he can't even protect himself.

Background: Kenny grew up in a single parent household, a fatherless one at that. He had always felt different, his mother was quite the free spirit even though her family was the strict, rich powerhouses they represented themselves to be. He went to countless schools and was constantly picked on in school because of his free nature, not wanting to be confined by societies standards of what normal was. He was always involved in some kind of art, photography and dance. But he found his passion in High school with writing, but that's where most of his pain began when the kids picked on him for his way of dress, mannerisms and anything they could taunt him with. But as soon as he made it to college, he changed in order to seem like a badass, using clever words and intimidating diction in order for him to gain respect. He is quiet on campus, not having too many friends.

Name: Dr. Elizabeth Parker

Appearance:


Personality: Warm and friendly, business-like when necessary, but very comforting and loving. She tries to make the college students feel welcomed and appreciated. She turns off her clinical side to give them more peace about the experiments, as some of them are a little more invasive than others.

Background: Elizabeth graduated at the top of her class from Baylor University with a masters in clinical psychology and her PhD field of study in oneirology. She grew up in a great family and after graduating from Baylor, she became the chair of the psychology department, later to move to the lead psychologist on a state wide sleep study that is conducted multiple times throughout the year by a university institute. This is her fifth year conducting the study and she if very familiar with the program, the dreamscape sequencing and the procedures, as many of them have been re-designed by her.

Major in college: Computer engineering

Personality: Tilly is rather introverted, preferring the company of her laptop to that of people. When spoken to she often responds in curt, short replies. This shows a distinct lack of communication skills often causing a strife with those she comes into contact with. She isn't aware of a mean's to protect another's feelings, speaking in a blunt and to the point fashion. She sees no purpose in dancing around the truth, confronting it head on to save time. If her shell is broken she is shown to be quite intelligent when it comes to mathematics and technology though at times can be lacking in what seems like common sense.

Background: Tilly lived with her grandparents for as long as she can remember. She has no recollection of her parents nor does she care to remember them. Her personality often clashed with her extroverted and fun loving grandmother who tried to coax her out of her shell, only to fail as many others have. She was able to build a healthy relationship with her grandfather who shared her passion for creating. The two of them were often seen making collectible miniatures such as boats or Star Wars ships. As she grew older the two of them became closer and closer, getting to the point that she refused to go away for college, choosing to stay at the local university in Florida. She still makes a residence in their home as she studies at the University of Florida Atlantic.

Background: Kid to a different background, Dad American, mom German, and he grew up in Rome. Studied there, learning English and German from his parents, Italian in the streets, it was only natural that he got a scholarship in UCLA in linguistics. He graduated early, with honors too, and had all sorts of offers for Jobs However, his dad and mom were rich, and if he hadn't gotten that scholarship, they would have paid his way through college anyway. So, not wanting for money, he went for the job that seemed the most interesting...

Personality and History (because of course one effects the other): At present Alroy struggles to fit into a world he has little experience. Raised in a very small Wiccan religious commune in the high hills Ireland, Alroy surprisingly received a special grant to attend a university in America. It was presented by his father as an attempt to get him into a more modern setting. Always adventuresome in the limited setting he accepted not realizing the culture differences. Now he misses home, and the spiritual nurturing woman that cared for him. Alroy was always told all the children were his brothers and sisters and very woman his mother. The gifts of the earth nourish. But he has found those ideas don’t play so well with the self center crowd he now finds himself mingling with. In one way he admires their guiltless pleasures and longs to fit in. At the same time he feels naïve and way out of his league. Because of this he seems shy when in fact he is just cautious. But warm him up at all and he can sing and dance like the nymphs in the deep woods.

Personality: Joey is the all American guy, friendly and outgoing, warm and welcoming. He is always the first to give comfort and answer hard to deal with questions and issues. He has three sisters and they have helped to soften his rough manly appeal and make him more caring and sensitive.

Background: Joey grew up in a loving household, with lots of laughter and joy, even after losing his dad to cancer at twelve. He excelled in sports and academics and got a full baseball scholarship to Baylor University, playing all four years and being asked to participate in the draft for the minor leagues. He turned it down, having participated in the Baylor Dream Study his freshman year summer and feel in love with Psychology and the study of the human mind where emotions are concerned. He has worked for Elizabeth since and secretly has a crush on her, though she is quite a few years his senior.

Background: Rachel’s a biology major and has been dating Kenny since high school off and on. They have an explosive relationship that works great when it works, but fighting is a regular part of their day. She comes from a broken home and her father committed suicide several years before she left for college.

Background: Kenny and he played ball together and went on to attend school together. They usually talk about everything, but lately Hank has been acting strange. Ralph's concerned about Rachel and wants to reach out to her, but he fears that it would harm his relationship with Kenny.

Background: Kelly is a waitress at the small diner on the edge of college where Kenny goes to study and just ponder by himself. She’s got a kid and has basically given up on life. She’s been in abusive relationship after abusive relationship.

Appearance:
Background: Meadow is a nurse at the local veterinarian office. She is always positive when Kenny comes in to have his dog, Max checked out. His dog is rather sickly and finds himself there quite often. She’s trying to discern if she’s straight, bisexual or homosexual. The decision is causing her world to spin and keeps her up late at night, grating on her. Sometimes life seems as if it would be better from the bottom of a pond as the air fled from her lungs.

Background: Campus party girl and quite the whore. Daddy never paid her any attention, so she is making sure to get a lot from every boy that looks at her. She’s never met Hank, to her knowledge, but she doesn’t remember turning him down freshman year at a huge Alpha Beta Kappa party.

Age: 24
Appearance:
Background: Chasity father molested her as a young girl and she turned to drugs and the street as soon as she was old enough to drive. She ran from home and has lived on the streets, always looking to get her next high. Kenny stops every once and a while and buys her a cup of coffee or something to eat. Most people do because they feel so sorry for the pretty young girl that turned into nothing.

Background:Sean grew up with Alroy, and from a young age always found himself the trouble maker of the group. Instead of sticking in at school and getting good grades, he lagged behind everybody else. As he got older his behavior got worse, advancing from petty theft to assault and eventually drug dealing. He has always stood by Alroy and is good friends with him. He does not get on well with Alroy's girlfriend, and thinks that she is trying to steal Alroy from him.

Background: Jane grew up in a large family, having three brothers and two sisters, she was the second youngest of her siblings. Growing up she had to learn to deal with annoying brothers and sisters, also along the way having to deal with family problems as her parents broke up. Jane went to live with her mother along with one of her older brothers. Her older brother took their parents break up hard, and got in to drugs. It ruined his life, keeping him out of college. For this reason she hates it when people she loves use them, as she has seen first hand what it can do.

Background: Abby grew up with a father that was a Senator from New York and a mother that ran one of the top legal firms in the United States. Needless to say, she was raised by a series of nannies. She’s confident and calculating in all that she does and says. She went to the best school and was sent to Boston to attend Harvard for their pre-law program, following in both of her parents footsteps. She decided to do this study to just take a breather and because of the fine art credits that would be granted for doing so.

You do not have to have your dream family locked down to post up IC. Remember that this first part is getting your college kid from wherever in the US or overseas you have them to the airport. You'll be meeting Nate there and then he'll bus you all over to dinner and to the lab for an intro with Dr. Parker and then it's time to settle into your dorm.
