Rim Worlds - The Enforcers (Interest Check)

Out there, in the outer worlds on the rim of known space and time, there is crime. Near humans, some scattered humans, and others live in crowded cities and strange places. In this world, humans mostly exist on Earth, but a select few are taken either as slaves or by accident and become free- or not. Many races are like this, living in far off planets and being taken, joining the populace through cloning, experiments, gene-splicing, or just plain old fashion sticking with their own. Their are also several races that inhabit these rim worlds normally, and they are very technologically advanced. Here, technology and science is very advanced and is created in such a way it is basically magic. Many strange beings and psychic things, collections of energy, and aberrations live here.

The cities are large and strange, with large glowing portals connecting different planets and planes of being together, large metropolises and ruins all blend together in a large area known as the Rim worlds. But because of all the technology and diversity, there is much crime and illegal activity. There is no official governing forces, but there is a large organization known as The Enforcers that try to protect the people. This is where you come in.

You play as an Enforcer. You are given training, and equipped with all sorts of strange technological powers and implants, and then sent out into the world to try and keep the peace. Your responsibilities vary depending on your special group or unit you join of the Enforcers.

    Anybody interested?

Note: I will elaborate more if there is interest in the game. I will add more info and some choices you can make in an OOC thread.

Thanks. This is my first time running a game here, so I hope I did it alright. I hope I didn't make the idea too long, or too strange to grasp. It's basically a police game set in an extreme sci-fi world, where technology is basically magic or magic is basically technology. The players are police, and have different departments and equipment to deal with problems. Just like to know if there is support for the idea before I spend the time to create a large amount of info for the setting and departments, as well as rival groups and such...

Oh, and I was also thinking of a name. The name "Rim Worlds - The Enforcers" doesn't really ring with me. Do you think it should be called "Enforcers of the Rim" or something? I'd like some feedback from anyone who cares. And interest, you know.

Also interested. Are we all gonna be police officers, or would some of us be able to roleplay as other sorts of people? (Regardless I'll still be an Enforcer, but I'm just curious.)

I would prefer all of us to be police for now, but the setting does allow for 'freelance' police who can be special, though you'll have to run that through me via PM. I'd like everyone to work together for the first time. Besides, the law is pretty flexible in the Outer Realms anyway, so your duties vary.

I'll make an OOC with more information, races, and the departments, since there is sufficient interest.

I was very much inspired by a number of sources. Some of it was Lovecraftian lore, and other was cyberpunk sort of stuff. But primarily, it was an idea I had for a setting where technology was so prevalent and powerful that it was basically magic. That technology could hook into people's souls and minds and all sorts of strange ambiguous things like that to make an interesting world. I also like the idea of science fiction with less guns, though guns still exist. That sort of inspired me.

And I'm working on the OOC right now. It has a ton of information though, so it will take a while. I hope people enjoy the setting as well.
