There are pros and cons to stats in an RP. Done right, it can expand on the enjoyment factor and add a real sense of development to your character. Done wrong, however and it can lead to mass thread desertion. I've played a number of stat-based RPs and I find them as enjoyable as others, but I'm also aware of their potential failings.
If Sara approves, we could have a vote on it?

I'm definitely in on this. I was a part of another SAO RP like a month ago but it died. I'd very much like to join another :P

Edit: I'll go ahead and say KalasAlseif can join Since I posted late, and because I think 7 is just fine too.

And I'm definitely okay with a vote.

Edit: I like the other poll better.

    Ok then.
Please vote for this thread, either:
    A. A statistical system with a levelling mechanic, experience points etc, and combat determined partically or fully by dice rolls. Rules about rolling mechanics and a sense of trust will be required.
    Or
    B. A purely roleplay based system, where the player determines the actions of their OC in combat etc. Rules about godmodding will need to be enforced.

    Personally, I vote B.

    Edit:
Lol, I should really check what other people are posting as I type...

    EditEdit:
    Lol.
    Running total:
    A - 0/7
    B - 7/7
Well... that was a fairly decisive vote.

    I vote B.

I've played stat based RPs before and unless they're tabletop, they tend to get quite messy. I think a GM should have discretion over when a player can level or enforce a level cap for a certain period of time and introduce problems/obstacles that a player can overcome to warrant the increase of a level.

I'd still like to hear from the others, but I think I'll vote B as well.

I'm going to be keeping a strict policy on godmodding, and I hope that we can keep an open, non-aggressive OOC conversation about if we think someone could be crossing the line, and how they can keep from doing it. So yeah, B is my vote.

Just making sure I have this right, choice b would be something like

"He charges at the monster, slashing his sword wildly and manages to cut it's arm off"

As apposed to choice A, which is essentially DnD on a forum

    I'd vote for B, personally.

I've never played DnD before, but I'm assuming that would about sum it up.
