The year is 1779. The American Revolution is in full swing, and the Caribbean is left mostly unmanned by the British, leaving the Spanish to take control. However, this also means that the great threat of pirates is yet again an honest threat, for the British are not here to help keep them in check.

You are part of a crew. A ship-less crew of rag-tag members and a few brilliant and or deadly men and women mixed right into the mix. This crew, seemingly a joke at the moment, is lead by Captain William Edwards. Not much is known of the Captain himself, and what is "Known" is more rumor than not. At the moment, our wonderful crew can be found on the outskirts of a Spanish town, eying the docks with hungry eyes and waiting for a perfect ship to steal. What will happen after they have a ship to crew? No one knows, but Captain Will has promised to lead them to adventure and riches that only the best of pirates dares dream of.

Still, the Caribbean is far from safe. With the British absent for several years already, there are several dozen pirate ships sailing the sea, and not one of them is unknown or un-feared. The infamous Blackbeard and his ship "The Queen Ann's Revenge" sail readily once more, and he is but one of the legends on the seas. Treasure abound can still be found in the home of pirates, the problem is getting to it before the rest of the sea dogs can.

Right, sorry for the short intro. As stated, the time is set in 1779, the middle of the American Revolution. We, however, will likely have nothing to do with the Revolution itself. That's just an excuse to free up some sea from the British. As said, we are based in the Caribbean. Not much to explain as to location- We've all seen Pirates of the Caribbean. (At least I hope I'm not the only one. Jack Sparrow vs Chuck Norris. Riddle me that. I say Jack.) Besides, most of the places we go will be made up. Pirate tales, after all, are rarely true. And the Caribbean is plenty big for us to mix the real and false places. Either way, if you don't know, it's quite a warm, tropical climate. Even mid-January you're unlikely to be even slightly cold.

Name: William "The Demon" Edwards or "Captain Will"

Gender: Male

Skills: Every skill a captain needs! A commanding attitude, some serious dual wielding skills, be it sword or pistol, and the general ability to kick some ass. He knows how to run his ship and crew, and isn't one to sit back while it happens. He'll be right there hoisting that sail with you, or up top steering the ship. Abnormal for a pirate- He's a ridiculously strong swimmer. Three minutes under water? No problem. Swim to shore from wreckage? Sure thing. He's also intelligent- But more in a battle smart, clever sort of way, not a book smart way.

Combat Job: He's a true jack of all trades. He can load and light a cannon, blast you with a rifle, or swing across to board you, slashing and blasting away with swords and pistols.

General Job: Captain- He does it all. He'll steer the ship, hoist the sails, mop the decks, shout the orders, and even cook for his lads! Not that it's a good idea to eat what he cooks, as it generally tastes like shit.

Personality: Captain Will is quite a strange man in his habits. On the ship, he's strong, commanding, and sure of himself and his crew. A respectable, and respectful, man. On shore, he'll probably be in the nearest bar, getting hammered with his crew, and starting bar fights. Or upstairs, surrounded by women.

Bio: Captain Will holds a mysterious past, and hardly ever shares it with anyone, even his trusted crew. What -is- known about him? Naught but a year ago, he broke out of a British prison, killed ten guards, and commandeered a ship single handedly. He sailed off in search of a crew, lost the ship, and is after a new one. Some say it's all just legend, some believe it's true. There are even some who say he has a bad history with the infamous Blackbeard. A battle in which he lost his right eye, and took Blackbeard's left hand in return. None can be sure if it's true, but he never denies or agrees with the rumors.

Appearance:

What isn't visible- His right eye is covered with a faded black leather eyepatch. His left eye is a bright grey in color, almost silver. He bears numerous scars- Not so many as to suggest he is clumsy in battle, but enough to suggest he's seen his fair share of it. Most notable of his scars, however, is the webbing of raised scars across his back, suggesting a lashing. The hood is usually down, unless he's in port and trying not to be seen.
Weapons- Four pistols; Two (Visible) on his chest, and two in the small of his back. His dual swords are also visible. He keeps a long dirk in his boot, and five throwing knives in a special sheath on his shoulder.

Name: Rico

Gender: Male

Skills: Rico is skilled in a variety of different areas. He can cook to some extent, play one or two instruments and sing along(even though he rarely does), knows how to lie pretty well, and is able to pull the trigger of a gun. However, his arguably greatest skill is his agility, enabling him to move almost as quick and silently as a shadow. That, along with his slender frame, make him an adept thief.

Combat Job: Rico isn't much of a fighter, although he knows how to handle a gun, and tries his best to avoid conflict. If he is forced to fight though, he will mostly use any means necessary to survive, whether they would be considered cowardly or not.

General Job: Cabin Boy

Bio: Rico was born and raised in the Caribbean. His father was a former pirate, his mother a former prostitute. Due to a strand of luck his father, just after Rico was born, found a chest filled with gold which blessed him with enough money to afford a small hut to live in with his family and spend the rest of his life in peace. When Rico was still a young boy he would often spend hours sitting in front of the hearth with his father and listening to glorious pirate stories. He was sure he wanted to be a pirate himself someday, once he was old enough to form his own crew.
However, when he was about 14 years old, his dream came to a sudden halt when his home was raided by a crew of pirates. His mother was raped and killed and his father died protecting Rico, ensuring his son would be able to escape. Having fled into a nearby town, Rico swore to himself that he would become a pirate, find that crew and take revenge on every one of them.

Personality: Under normal circumstances Rico is a very quiet and aloof boy that rarely speaks up, usually preferring to keep his distance. He would often spend hours just sitting somewhere and staring into nothingness, dwelling in his childhood memories or play sad tunes on his flute. His goal is to exert revenge on the pirates that murdered his father and he would go to any length necessary to accomplish that.
However, if he were to actually befriend another person, he can become very loyal and trusting and would support his friends as best as he could.

Other: Apart from his vengeance, there are three other items he treasures in life. One is a small picture of him and his family. The second is a wooden flute he got from his father when he was still very young. The third is a little ferret he found the day after his family was killed. He named him Jack and always keeps the little animal very close to himself.

Name: Nathaniel 'Bloody' Butler.

Gender: Male.

Skills: Can repair things like guns, swords, etc, while in combat, he can use his hands and fire a gun on other ships and can read some words.

Combat Job: He's a Jake of All Trades which means he can stab you, load a cannon, and shoot a gun.

General Job: He's a Carpenter which means he repairs ships after a battle.

Personality: He is usually funny to hang out with while he's repairing stuff, while in combat, he hates to be alone due to him getting stab for behind.

Bio: Born in England, he's father, at the age of 33, went on a ship to the New World to get a new life away of his family. Some say that Nathaniel's father is a pirate on a ship or dead, he wants to find out soon. Besides his father's history, he learn to read at a young age and fire a gun for his friends. When at the age of 20, he join the navy to learn about the sea life-like, firing a cannon, and repairing a ship. He left the navy due to his mother's death at the age of 27, after that he went to the pirate life because, he didn't want to join the navy and no fun in it so he find William and asked to join.

Gender: Female

Skills: Goodness me... Sarah can read! She is also a sharp eye with pistol and musket, can read charts, and maps thanks to her academic upbringing in a proper English institution.

Weaknesses: Like most pirates, Sarah cannot swim. She is a poor swordswoman and is also quite frail.

Combat Job: Sarah normally uses her rifle from atop the aft castle. She has four pistols arranged in a harness behind her lower back for when things spill over in her direction. After that she seizes up the nearest belaying pin or fallen blade. By then they're likely lying around everywhere.

General Job: Well schooled, Sarah speaks several languages, is an excellent navigator and has learned to pilot grand vessels. She performs adequately as a doctor, able to blend tinctures, salves and balms in addition to stitching flesh.

Personality: As a former noble Sarah is an arrogant stuck up bitch who often believes that she should be the one in charge. After all, she is the most intelligent.

Bio: Sarah was escaping an arranged marriage and had little in the way of choices. She could choose between accepting the oafish monstrosity in wedlock, the nunnery, the brothel or something outside of the terms of law. She, absolutely, chose the last of those. Steeling everything she could from the man she was arranged to marry she dumped it all in the lap of the first outbound pirate she could find in return for learning the trade.

Other: Sarah is most fond of her long snake leather boots which are incredibly rare and worth a fair bit of coin. That and her hat which is big... so big...

Frederick Magellan



Appearance:
Frederick Magellan stands about 6 feet and weighs around 150 pounds. The clothes that he wears are very dirty and greasy, even wet at times. His body and everything that he is in possession reeks of rum and seaweed. He speaks in a thick Scottish accent although he was born in England, he keeps it unexplained why. He always keeps a half-drowsy face with a curved smile that reveals his yellow crooked teeth. Wields this sword and keeps it holstered on his belt that also holds a flintlock pistol on the other side.

Skills: Frederick Magellan is a master of fraud, manipulation, demolitions, brawling and quick-draw. He is aware that his drunk attitude makes everyone else around the crew underestimate what he can do. His eye-hand coordination and reaction time is also superior, making him a good pistoleer and a rifleman. He is also knowledgeable in the art of destroying things through gunpowder and TNT. He also knows how to scam money off gullible people using fake names and costumes.

Combat Job: Pistoleer, rifleman, hand-to-hand combat, demolitions.

General Job: He is supposed to wipe the floors of the ship, but he sleeps to it most of the time. He can be called to handle the sails or to steer the boat.

Personality: You can usually see Frederick man the rum or hit the deck, due to him being a drunk. He would like to tell stories of his misadventures, some of which may or may not be true. He is a sleazy vulgar dick who usually gets his hands dirty even though he might not be the one who does it. After all, he's a compulsive liar and he cannot be trusted. Outside of the ship, he is quite a crowd-pleaser and popular among the girls due to his name being similar to a famous Portuguese explorer named Ferdinand Magellan. Frederick takes this to his advantage anyways, even though he hates being mistaken as Ferdinand Magellan. He has an uncanny skill to attract trouble and get away with it.

Bio: Frederick worked a lot of job and got kicked out a lot. He was once a pirate too, but he decided to just blow the ship apart after he was harassed by the whole crew. But just before joining another crew, Frederick was just a barkeep for an inn. One day, he fought with a bar regular because he called him 'the shit version of Ferdinand Magellan'. He decided that after he got kicked out, he would prove everyone wrong and make a legacy in the sea wherein people will find the difference between Ferdinand and Frederick. After an hour he was kicked out because he gave everyone free beer, rum and liquor. Frederick decided that it's about time he touches the sea.

Other: Cannot swim. Nobody knows how he got the knowledge with blowing shit up. Hell, he even doesn't remember. He just woke up in a barn one day with the ultimate knowledge of TNTs and explosives.

Gender: Male

Skills: Jeremiah is a dead eye with a cannon. He could shoot a coconut off the top of a wench's head from 100 yards away without taking her head with it. Other than that, he has no combat skills.

Personality: Jeremiah is a snob. He was raised rich, and views the majority of pirates to be beneath him. The way he sees it, he’s stuck in an unfortunate situation and he’s using the filthy pirates to raise enough gold to pay his way home.

Bio: Raised in a wealthy family, Jeremiah was given an excellent education and absolutely no combat training. One evening, while strolling along the docks he got caught in a crossfire between a raiding party of pirates and the town guards. In the confusion Jeremiah fled with the pirates and found himself aboard their ship. He spent weeks as a slave before he was dumped ashore in a pirate town with no money and nowhere to go. Eventually, out of desperation, he signed up with a shipless crew of pirates in order to make a living. He is educated in advanced math. Using his mathematical skills he is a natural at aiming a cannon, and he has never lost track of a single coin. This makes him an obvious choice for keeping track of the booty, unless you don’t trust him not to pocket more than his fair share of course.

Combat Job: Patrick refuses to not partake in boarding action whenever the occasion arises, preferring to jump ship and fight the enemy face to face rather than hide behind a cannon, though until then he makes due with shooting anything that can reach the enemy.

General Job: Patrick usually plays the role of a simple deckhand up until the fighting starts, where he really excells.

Personality: Patrick is steadfastly loyal to his fellow crewmembers and his Captain and would sacrifice himself for the greater good. To this end, Patrick could be considered both brave and reckless, often making up his plans along the way. If nothing else can be said about Patrick, he is someone who enjoys a good joke and would love nothing more than to make someone's day.

Patrick's nickname was earned during his time as a member of the British Navy, for his constant ability to survive everything from a shark attack to a swordfight against an overwhelming amount of Spanish Marines. So it was no surprise that when the British ship he was serving on sunk, Patrick "Clover" O'Hagen survived. Rather than return to the military or a merchant fleet, Patrick chose instead to offer his experience and skills to any pirate Captain that would have him.
