I've just realised how much I've overcomplicated the entire OP.

But if you have a life-line, love, I don't see why you shouldn't go for it. Good luck.

[Vena Sera IV;8561714]I'd recommend still trying to get a better idea of what it is you're looking for before going through with it. As the others said burning yourself could be very possible with the amount of work you'll have, and the negative implications of that would be... Well, negative. It could start as a good idea and down the road become more of a toil than a healthy challenge. I guess what I'm saying is have an air of caution and think it through before going through with it ^_^
Fair advice, thank you. Luckily, I've negotiated a deal with the heads of the subject I'm crashing - if I'm struggling, I can back out and do the Higher instead. That gives me an escape route if I really can't cope.[/QUOTE]

Sounds like you are pretty put together then. Good luck dearie.

If you do decide to take on those extra courses, be sure to study ahead as much as you can so you can get the gist of the material you're skipping over in the Advanced class.
Both Oxford and Cambridge require, as an imperative, study and learning outside of school just to even consider you, so I'll definitely be reading on the course matter I've missed and so on xD. Luckily and unluckily, the AH I'm crashing is History - lucky because the only thing, in some senses, that I've missed is the methodology of how to answer essay questions, and analysis techniques, but it's unlucky in that it's considered one of the hardest AHs and requires an enormous amount of written work and such. Ill definitely be getting ahead over the summer though, thanks.

At first I thought you were doing some completely insane additional course that was a billion times more difficult than anything you would do under normal circumstances.

    Nope, you're doing a fourth A2. :P

It certainly seems like you've got your bases covered. You know yourself best though, so just do what you feel you're comfortable with and go for it!

Essentially. Although one of the A2s is a crash. >_>. And if I want to get into Oxbridge I do have to for a tonne of 'supercurricular' study as well as preparing for exams like, for example, the Cambridge mathematics STEP exam, which is genuinely scary and is intended to be far beyond or abilities. But I'm not doing something separate and insane, no, I'm just doing some pretty hefty, unprecedented stuff that technically I shouldn't be allowed to do, but within the normal system.

If you feel like you're capable of doing this, then maybe you should try it. It will certainly be a challenge for you to undertake, if you enjoy pushing yourself in that regard, and it would speak well for you (when you apply for jobs later) that you were able to undertake such a strenuous load. If you accomplish it, you'll have every right to brag -- you'll have definitely earned it!

That all being said, however, part of college is becoming a well-rounded person and taking time to find yourself. Studying hard and getting good grades should be your main focus, naturally, but don't forget to make time to do silly things on occasion and have some small measure of a social life. Those things, while they don't sound terribly important, are -- You'll never get your younger years back once they're gone, so when you get out of college and you go into the world of working, that's the rest of your life. Working. That's not to say that you can't have fun as you get older, but your college years will be entirely behind you, and you can't get that time back.. Whatever you do, don't forget to make time to make memories, beyond the boundaries of your studies.

In the end, only you are going to know the balance that will suit you best, whatever advice you receive from others. Do what you feel is right for you -- more often than not, your gut instincts are correct, so don't ignore them.
