Fallout: Return To The Capital [OOC Thread]

War... War never changes. Ever since the Lone Wanderer stepped through the great door of Vault 101 and into the annels of legend, a figure whom had refused to fall to the vices that had tempted so many others, the Captial Wasteland had been a slightly brighter place than it had been for years. From saving the town of Megaton from what would be certain obliteration by disarming the towns namesake bomb, to simply ensuring a better future for the the struggling settlement of Big Town, the Lone Wanderer was a shining beacon of hope in anotherwise dire world. In a quest that has since fell to legend, the Lone Wanderer left the Vault a boy looking for his father, and left a man, whom had discovered the greatest of virtues; sacrifice. Stepping into the irradited control chamber of project purity, the child followed the example of the father, sacrificing life itself, for the greater good of mankind. The waters of life finally began to flow into the wastes.

But mankind failed to follow the shinning example set by the child; without the Lone Wanderer to aid them, the Brotherhood of Steel and the Enclave were caught in an endless series of battles, with no end in sight. From their home at Adams Air Force Base, the Enclave planned to destroy their enemy with the power of the pre-war, intent on reigning down a series of satillite guilded barrages on the Citadel. With no other option, the Brotherhood lauched an all out attack on the Base, losing a vast majority of their people in doing so, but successfully managing to defeat the Enclave threat. Crippled, the Brotherhood retreated back to their Citadel, and have rarely engaged in any outwards activity since, barely having the force to keep the Super Mutant threat at bay. As for the Enclave, the small faction that remained also withdrew, waiting for their time to strike again at the heart of the Wasteland. Project Purity fell into Rivet City hands, whom struggled to keep away the raiders and mutants that filled the wasteland, constantly asking for assistance from the Brotherhood, which never came. Slowly but surely, the Purifier was lost to the inhabitants of the Wasteland, becoming a no-mans land.

This is where your story begins. It has been four years since the events of the Lone Wanderer, whom gave his life for mankind. You may be a traveller, or a merchant, or whom ever you want to be; all that matters in the Wastes, is who pulls the trigger first.

Here is a list of my interpretations of the events of FO3, and anything you should know:

    - The Lone Wanderer died at Project Purity.
    - The BoS defeated the Enclave at Adams Air Force Base, just barely, and have since been a crippled force.
    - The Enclave still exists somewhere in the Wastes, a small faction waiting for their chance to strike.
    - Three Dog is still alive, keeping the hopes up of the Wastes.
    - Tenpenny Tower exists as it always has; a beacon to the rich, a sign of oppression to the poor.
    - Megaton was saved from destruction at the hands of the bomb, and since has stayed more or less the same.
    - Rivet CIty has grew rapidly, taking in whomever offers to help their cause to reclaim Project Purity from the raiders and mutants that now infest that area.
    - The Super Mutant threat grew exponentially, the DC ruins now more dangerous than ever before; nobody has heard from Underworld in months, unable to reach the museum through the ruins.
    - Paradise Falls still captures and exports slaves, unrivalled.
    - Big Town, saved from the mutant threat, has grew slightly with the new found safety, becoming a well known settlement for travellers.
    - Canterbury Commons, once the hub of merchants, fell to the wastes months ago. Since, the population migrated to either Rivet City or Megaton, merchants now disorganised and random.
    - Weapons from Fallout: New Vegas are allowed, but they would be rare compared to the weapons of FO3
    - More to come.

    Name: Alexander Ashton aka Lex
    Age: 25
    Gender: Male

Appearance: Alex is fairly short, around five foot five; this is partially offset by his heavy frame and wide shoulders. His ragged grey blonde hair is tied in a messy ponytail, underneath his faded grey worker's cap. Dull blue eyes are framed by his soft, but scarred face.

History: Alex was born in the Royal Canadian Commonwealth, dumped as a foundling and picked up by a travelling trader. His early life was a mess of trade relations, special 'deals', bandit attacks and the unending clink of bottlecaps. By the time he was of age, Alex was already a proficient trader in his own right, with a small fortune saved and traded over time. He eventually bought his very own pack brahmin, and set off southwards in hopes of sucking the life out of the American Dream.

Personality: Alex is a very shrewd individual, both in business and as a person. Through charm, persistence and whatever leverage he can find, he is quite capable of turning any deal to his profit; this is true for normal conversation as well. Alex has a habit of casually manipulating people, often without realising it. Despite this, he is a generally nice, chilled out young man.

Equipment: As a travelling trader, Alex has several hundred caps worth of salvage and other equipment stored with his brahmin. His personal equipment is quite simple; he prefers to wear a thick grey overcoat with extra pockets sewn into the outer level and wears no real armour. His only weapon is a five round 7.92 bolt action hunting rifle, which he keeps hanging from a leather strap across his chest.

Skills: Alex has a high degree of skill in speech and bartering, and is also quite adept at repairing equipment. He has practically no ability to fight, although he is slowly investing time in learning to use guns.

    Occupation:
Travelling caravan trader, currently travelling solo

    Other:
His brahmin, Kyle, is a right stroppy git.

    Name: Max Hare
    Age: 26
    Gender: Male
    Appearance:

    History:
Max was born in Megaton to a mechanic and his wife who had bought a house in town after travelling from who knows where. His father tried to teach him how to be a mechanic but Max was too distracted with a gun his father had built him from scraps. The gun didn't fire real bullets of course, just small pieces of stone that could barely even bruise you. The only time Max did at least help repair something was when he and his father gathered the parts for a bike and made it! Of course it had no fuel but it was a good show item. He grew up practicing with his gun before he decided to play hero and try to save some slaves from a group of slavers who passed by every now and then. It didn't go well. He chased after them for days before getting lost in the wasteland, never to return to Megaton. He met his dog in the wasteland though who has been his faithful companion ever since.
    Personality:
Max is usually silent and just get's on with business. He doesn't really like people, he thinks they are too chatty and as such he befriends animals namely his dog, Buster.
Equipment: A sawed-off shotgun along with a 223 pistol. He also carries a few stimpacks and bottle caps. Does a dog count as equipment?
Skills: Skilled with big and small guns. The 'Animal Friend' perk. He knows basic repair skills.
    Occupation:
    Other:
A collection of GIFS from my favourite Films

    Name: John Mc Carthy
    Age: 24
    Gender: Male
Appearance: John is about 1,8m tall with a caucasic taint. He´s rather strong than weak builded and so posses rather wide shoulders. He´s having brown to blonde hair which he wears in a messy wild mane which is mostly covered by his dark brown desperado cowboy hat. A three days beard always seems to decorate his face and his blue eyes are hidden by sunglasses.
History: John grew up in the former state of California under the freshly growing influence of the NCR, unhappy about the forced democracy he soon wandered off with his father and mother. Hearing that the Capital would be still free and without restrictions they decided to try their luck there but it happens like it always does. Raiders attacked the family and only with luck and three bullets burried in his body John managed to survive.
A Lone wanderer named Lance took him with him, later reveaing that he was a so called Regulators. Now raising John like his own son, they did the work the company for 5 years and then his new father, Lance died during one of their missions. John was angry and upset, he left the Regulators and decided to haunt criminals on his own, without the support of the company but still having the image of the old western sheriff.
Personality: John is rather gloomy and unfriendly on the first view but you soon recognize that he´s rather unsocial since the lack of communication with others. He´s a lone wolf who´s secretly seeking for others but can´t accept it for his own sake. The best way to break the ice is either offering him a cigarette or a beer.
Equipment: John is wearing a modified Regulator duster. The duster has written "Own Law" on it´s back and is certainly combined with a leather armour, so only the mantle would remain with leather arm-gaunlets, furthermore he would wear his mantle open, revealing a light leather vest under it. He then would wear dark sunglasses and a dark brown desperado cowboyhat. His weapons would be a ordinary combat knife where the hilt is combined with a nailed brass-knuckle, a .32 pistol and a 10mm Huntingrifle which his "teacher" once got during a mission in a near swamp. As small "tools" he´s having 6 lines of dynamite, some wire and serveral flints to produce a simple but effective trap. He´s furthermore having 5 throwing knives hidden under his mantle and a lot of cigarresttes. His caps would only reach to about 100.
Skills: John posses a strength and endurance which is only slightly above average, a high amount of perception and agility. While he does have a charismatic look his charisma and intellect would lack a lot. He´s a skilled gunslinger with both pistols and rifels, furthermore a specialist in traps and so explosives to some degree, his hand to hand is average while his combat capazy with knifes is really above average.
Occupation: Headhunter, Gun for hire, Mercenary
    Other: He´s addicted to cigarettes.
