    HP New Generation RP [IC]

Several years have come to pass since Harry Potter fulfilled his destiny and defeated Lord Voldemort, since then Hogwarts has been restored and has been accepting new students for several years now. Despite being open for sometime now Hogwarts has still been filling in staffing positions, however this year they are filling the the few spots open giving them a full teaching staff.

Once the threat of Voldemort and his followers was finally extinguished, and balanced restored people started to relax for the first time in many years. However, the peace did not last for long. Starting last year there were threats sent to officials both in the Wizarding world and the Muggle world, threatening a collapse of the world they know, and a new power under the mysterious person's rule. The messages were passed off as idle threats until the attacks started happening, people disappearing out of crowded places, or from their own homes in the middle of the day. Once again it feels as though there is a dark presence lingering in the air wherever people go.

Despite this, people are still more than willing to send their students to Hogwarts resulting in a recent increase of students from around the globe.

Thick black smoke from the train billowed over Platform 9 and 3/4, families were standing all around talking to their children. The older ones were already boarding the train in hopes of getting a good seat. The entire platform was one loud mass of meowing cats, screeching owls, stifled cries from first years giving their parents one last good-bye. The black and red trained looked no different than it did last year, or anytime before that. There was about ten minutes left before the train took off, more people hurried to get their things onto the train. It seemed some things never change.

    Evanna McLloyd

Evanna stood with her parents on the platform, watching all the other children board the train. Evanna frowned at all the happy faces, all the 'I'll miss you's being shouted by parents and other family members. Evanna moved her fringe out of her eyes and moved her suitcase in front of her feet. It was heavy - full of books and clothes and shoes and makeup. Everything Evanna needed to survive another year alone at Hogwarts. She didn't mind too much, she loved to learn, but it would help if for once she could make some friends. Just one year of friends was enough. But then again, she liked being alone; alone with her thoughts, her own intelligence. These two conflicting ideas created a mixed cocktail of very confusing drunkenness for Evanna, so she decided not to bother.

"We'll see you at the end of the year, Evanna." her mother spoke calmly, putting her hand on Evanna's shoulder. "Don't get into any trouble."

"I won't." Evanna shrugged off her mother's arm and kissed both of her parents on the cheek. "Bye."

Evanna dragged her suitcase onto the train and travelled up and down the carriages before finding an empty compartment to sit in. She stood on the tips of her toes and put her suitcase in the overhead baggage area then sat down, reading a copy of one of her favourite books 'The Prince and the Pauper' by Mark Twain. She was content with the idea of going back to school as soon as possible, hopefully alone with the company of only a good book.

    Farah Higgins

"I'll miss you all so much!" cried Mrs Higgins to her children. Four of them; Spencer, Trenton, Olive and Farah were all Hogwarts students. "Be good!"

Farah pulled along her two suitcases ahead of her siblings, moving onto the train to find a place to sit.

"Go on, Olive. Make some friends to sit with." Farah smiled at her first-year sister, lightly pushing her up the aisle of the carriage. Her other siblings, twins, Spencer and Trenton had already found their friends and were moving into a compartment together. Now it was time for Farah to find someone to sit with. That shouldn't of been too hard, Farah was especially good at making friends.

He was tired after the long summer, all he had to do, to endure with his family. The subject of his birth had long caused tension amongst his family, and despite having had years to deal with his birth. It was a raw wound which caused angst amongst them all. He was relatively shielded from his family however every summer even he must return to his family estate to hold their annual gathering on the Summer Solstice.

The estate was rich and expensive, the gates were made of enchanted gold, able to open and close from the mere presence. The gates were attached to two stone square pillars with a crystal orb. The orb reflected the light in a beautiful way, but it also allowed the Head of his Family, Lucifer Morven to see all that occurred. There was a stone path leading up to the main building beside which were sycamore trees full of birds chirping away breaking the ominous silence. The main building itself was a huge white mansion with many floors, the doors were huge oak doors which often creaked as you opened them.

The meeting itself seemed standard at first, his 'family' pouring in with their usual polite talk entering the main hall however weirdly the Head had not shown himself, while in the past he had done this due to private matters, they were usually already known. They were ignoring his presence as if he was some curse to the family and he took the usual place in the corner of the hall allowing him to simply watch, it was only when they entered the dining hall and actually began to discuss matters did things begin to get extremely worrying. It turned out that the Head had suddenly disappeared a week before the meeting from his study, no one had witnessed him leave and it was generally assumed he had been kidnapped. The meeting was abruptly ended and everyone was left clueless.

He thought about this revelation as he walked along the platform. He saw all the children hugging their relatives and saying goodbye, however he picked up that some children were missing parents, brothers, sisters. It was all very peculiar and he wondered just what would happen this year. You had heard the stories about the rise and fall of Voldemort. He was almost worried as to what may happen, is this the beginning of the New Voldemort? He looks up as the sharp whistle blows signalling it is time to board and with that he quickly enters the Hogwarts Express and get a good seat by one of the windows, he checks his pockets and quickly counts the money he were given by his mother. He relaxes and slumps on his seat enjoying the loneliness of his cabin. He was not sure whether to change now or later but he was lazy now and relented. He sighed and knew at last he was going home.

Her last year at Hogwarts, it was hard to believe. She could still remember her first year almost as it it had happened yesterday. She shut her trunk, everything in it packed neatly so that it wouldn't wrinkle. Lifting her trunk up, she set it by her bedroom door.
"Come one Circe, in your cage. We have to leave or we'll be late," She said softly to her owl as she tried to usher her into the cage. Circe sat there, eyeing Juniper evilly. Circe hated her cage, this was common knowledge. Every year was the same, Circe would sit there, Juniper would finally offer her a few treats, and Circe would follow the treats into her cage. Upon being fooled, she would then proceed to get angry. Sighing quietly, Juniper reached over and grabbed a bag of owl treats. She shook the bag, knowing that would catch her owl's attention. Circe's eyes narrowed, knowing the game that Juniper was trying to play.

"Come on Circe, come get the treat," She said softly and the owl clicked her beak happily.

An hour later, Juniper was walking onto the platform pushing her trolley in front of her. She climbed aboard the train, looking for an empty compartment that she could sit in. She walked along the corridor, seeing compartment full of people, some half empty ones, and some with just one or two people in them. Frowning slightly, she saw a compartment with one lone girl inside. She was reading Mark Twain, Isn't he a muggle writer? She thought before shrugging her shoulder and sliding open the compartment door,"Hello, do you mind if I join you? Everywhere else is full or reserved," She said with a frown. She really hoped that this girl would not mind her joining. She stood there, waiting for the girl to look up and answer her.

Whenever required to be somewhere at a particular time, Dederick made a point to be there early. Principally, this was because of the frequency with which amusing and embarrassing accidents happened around him. That particular morning, nothing had delayed him, but there was always the chance.

The second reason Ded liked arriving early was that he enjoyed both choosing his seat, and sitting there. This he did quite well, and had done for half an hour, when only a few students were arriving. He'd also got a nap in, after disillusioning the door passably well. It was best not to sleep long when young withes and wizards were finally allowed to use their magic after being away from it so long. His own year no longer had the Trace on them, so this would not factor, but they were less than a seventh -- or an eighth, possibly -- of the students. Ded himself would have taken the opportunity to apparate to Hogsmeade, but pretending he'd floo'd there appealed to him about as much as getting an apparation license. That aside, riding a train would be less awkward than convincing the elves he could deal with his own luggage.

At present though, staring out the window and listening to his contemporaries, Ded wondered how well the door's disillusionment would deter people now that the whole student body was filtering in. The sort of person who might both notice the charm and end it was vaguely intriguing for him. But there would be time and opportunity for extroversion later. For now, he shifted to get a better view of the cabin, and to rest his head more comfortably, attempting half-sleep with daydreams.

"God, you couldn't make this shit up. Armies marching and counter-marching, clashes of arms, intricate politics and furious storms of sorcerous might, and in the end it all depended on whether or not two northern midgets could manage to chuck some jewelry into a fucking volcano.

It really is kinda funny, now that I think about it."

    Evanna McLloyd

Evanna looked up from her book to see a girl at the door. Why would she choose to sit with her? There were a few people here already but surely she could find another compartment? No matter, she could hardly send her on her way, she had manners.

"Um... sure." Evanna gestured to the seat in front of her, awkwardly holding her book in front of her, wondering whether or not it would be rude to carry on reading.

She decided it would be perfectly reasonable, since she didn't even know the girl, there was no need to put off her book for her.

    Farah Higgins

Farah stayed in the carriageway, waiting for someone to speak to. She didn't want to spend the ride to Hogwarts alone, what fun would that be? No fun at all.

"Ded! You're here!" Farah cried gleefully, running into the compartment. "I missed you!"

Farah didn't like to stick to friends in her own house, and Gryffindor was one of her particular favourites to make friends in. Ded was somewhat reserved, but Farah liked him. Then again, Farah liked most people. She liked to see the best in people all the time, so it was no wonder that she liked people when others didn't.

Lukas pressed through the crowds of people to get onto the train, he didn't want to waste time talking to people when he could be getting a compartment. He ignored the disgruntled shouts as he pushed between two people. Dragonfly gave disapproving shrieks as the owl's cage was yanked in after him. He sighed at the wall of people in front of him, talking like there wasn't anyone actually trying to get anywhere. How could they be talking in such a care-free manner? Did they not read the News? People being grabbed out of their own homes, and from the streets, and not just Muggles, Wizards, and Witches. Powerful ones at that, he spotted an empty compartment and shoved past a few more people to get into it. He placed Dragonfly on the seat opposite of him, and pulled the picture of his sister out of his pocket. "Stay safe sis..."

He looked out the window, his grandparents had already left it seemed, he looked at families push their kids towards the train with tearful good-byes. He rolled his eyes at the ones who clung to their parents like they would never see them again. Then again, with the way things were going since last year who knows, they just might never see their parent's again. He was broken out of thought by his owl giving a loud screech. "Oh, what is it now you winged rat." His owl gave him a scornful look, and another screech before turning his back to Lukas. "Oh, come now there's no need to be like that. I was only joking." Lukas rolled his eyes at his owl, of all the owls in the world, he had to get the one that took everything he said to heart. "Well fine, I don't see why I care about the feelings of an owl anyway. You're just a glorified messenger pigeon I hope you know that."

He rolled his eyes, what was he doing talking to an owl was a stupid thing to do anyway. The worst thing his owl could do was not deliver his mail, and to do that he would have to actually receive mail. He crossed his arms and rested his head against the wall of the compartment. He just wanted to be at the school, he glared angrily at some hopeful first years who approached his compartment, they quickly hurried away. This was going to be a long trip.

The walk to the station was a quiet one. Orren, his father, and Dylan all walked along in a comfortable silence, pondering what this year will bring. As tradition since their second year at Hogwarts, Dylan had spent the summer at Orren's house, nestled sweetly in the Scotland hills. Orren's father didn't mind. The first time Orren had asked if Dylan could come home with him, his father had just been glad to hear that his boy had made a friend. Even if that friend was a lanky waif. By now, Orren didn't even have to ask. It was assumed that Dylan would be accompanying him and his father as they apparitated home. The boy really had no where else to go.

As the three arrived at the platform, Orren gave his father a goodbye and a manly hug. Dylan grinned broadly and did the same, although he received a friendly pat on his messy head rather than a father hug like Orren. Orren then took his cart, loaded full of his and Dylan's crap, and entered platform 9 and 3/4. At the front of his cart was the flamboyantly colored bird that Orren despised ever so much. Charlie was an angel while in his father's presence, but once out of the site, the macaw let loose an unholy racket.
"Mraaackfuck!" The bird squawked, using the word he so often heard Orren use towards him.
"Shut up, you technicolored piece of shit," Orren griped.
"Shutup shutup pieceofshit," the bird gleefully called.
Dylan only chuckled as he grabbed a couple bags to load on. The platform was crowded and chaotic as ever. Dylan accidentally bumped in to a couple people before he reached the trained to drag the luggage on. Orren soon followed, two bags and the bird cage in his arms.

Dylan barged in to the first mostly empty compartment he found, which happened to contain a dark haired, pale skinned boy who looked about their age. Dylan gave the boy a grin before shoving his abused luggage into the overhead rack. Orren arrived soon behind him, but was clearly too short to put his own stuff up. Dylan, who knew this already, took the smaller boy's luggage and crammed it in the rack for him. The two then sat down on the bench across from the stranger, Orren's abomination of a pet on the floor.

Dylan, ever the friendly Slytherin was the first to break the silence. "Hey there brother! I never seen you before. What house are you in?" Meanwhile, the cranky Gryffindor glared silently out the window.

Ah: that would make the most sense.

"Farah." He had to look up to meet her eyes, but this was not a change from the previous six years, him seated or otherwise. Ded took no solace from firsties being shorter than he.

He refrained from suggesting that the Hufflepuff had not even noticed the door was charmed, but he couldn't keep from smirking. It looked much like a smile anyway, and may well have been, as the sight of her cheered him enough for one. The disillusionment not having worked didn't strike Ded as particularly likely. He'd worked on that spell during the previous school year, and had played this game three times over summer. Still: it was possible. His magic had never been especially stable.

"Missed me? Seems like only yesterday we had apparation classes." Ded's earlier attempts at teleporting -- while showcasing Gryffindor red quite brilliantly -- had been unsuccessful. The apparation instructors had suggested that subject might not be his magical strong point, but by the end of the course he'd managed to work it out. Mostly. He'd only had to retake the test once, and the reason had almost gone unnoticed.

"I haven't received any letters on the whereabouts of that toe, but I wasn't really attached to it."

He watched as the two friends entered his compartment, the way they worked together was an alien concept to him, especially considering his family. Unlike most he didn't have a definite group of friends rather he sort of glided around getting acquainted with everyone. He intially chose to ignore them sitting there in the cabin. One of them dressed quite similarly to him, the other one who decided to greet him looked like a bit of a punk but he nevertheless decided to indulge him. 'Syltherin, 6th year, the name's James Morven,' he extends his hand out, 'And you? House, year and name please, you are definitely Gryffindor, the year above probably' he glanced at the other one who seemed to be in a mood and withdrawn, he felt sorry for him and smiled in his direction before saying, 'Same with your friend but I'm going to take a stab in the dark and say he's in my house and hmm....about two years bellow,'.
