    Asher Fredrick Bathey

    Oppression

    Power:
Oppression is a War Mongerer; he has the power to manipulate one’s mind (to a certain extent), and force them to turn on their friends and allies. He enjoys the bloodlust of war and will do anything to oppress anyone in his grasp – leaving them with nothing but the despair and grief of war and the guilt; eating away at them like acid.

His physical capabilities match his mental powers; making him good for both close range and long range combat.

    Personality:
Dark, sinister and manipulative; Oppression will stop at nothing to get what he wants; which is blood. He is happy with the Homunculi; they allow him to do what he likes and his powers come in handy. He feels no remorse for those who are killed in his name, it only brings him happiness. The more blood he spills, the more the gap is filled – the gap which is his lack of soul. He has no wish for humanity; he has accepted his fate and wishes to live with the gift of immortality.

Not all there in the head, he tends to laugh at the strangest of things and comes off as rather forward at times; however, he is never angered and keeps his emotions in check. He cares for none, not even himself – often mistaken for the sloth of the group he tends not to do things himself, rather, tries to manipulate others to do it for him.

    Bio:
Even in life, Oppression had no regard for the lives of others; if they are of use, they were used, if not, they were thrown aside like rubbish and died if they got in his way. He was highly ranked in the military and was well respected; Asher Fredrick Bathey, “The Puppet Alchemist”, he was known well for using his power to create life like dolls which fought for him; almost like wooden robots.

A mistress stood at his side, confident, beautiful and intelligent; she also had a dark demeanour. Asher was intending to overthrow the new Fuhrer, Roy Mustang; however, his plans were forted and he was slain by the great Flame Alchemist, himself.

His mistress, in her grief and sorrow sought revenge on Roy and sunk into research on human transmutation. It wasn’t a dark and stormy night when she drew up the transmutation circle; it was supposed to be, but, that’s the weather for you. Thinking she had the equation all worked out, she sacrificed an innocent life and transmuted it into his body – a soul for a soul; however, as one would expect, no soul is equivalent to another.

She was lost to the gate and a soulless, living body remained. In a way, it was a fitting resurrection for “The Puppet Alchemist”; brought back as a puppet himself. Now, almost immortal and far more powerful than before, he cuts his bloody path through the years, reminding mankind that they are still weak and still easily manipulated.

Love. You can learn all the math in the 'Verse, but you take a boat in the air that you don't love, she'll shake you off just as sure as the turning of the worlds. Love keeps her in the air when she oughta fall down, tells you she's hurtin' 'fore she keens. Makes her a home.

    Name: Lucien Acedia
    Nickname: Laziness
    Appearance:
Power: Lucien posses the ability to annihilate the kinetic energy of an object or person to complete zero, so "freezing" it completly, this ability can be used on two ways, either in a 5m area around him, where the kinetic energy would then become close to zero, so only altering it taht everything around him happens in slow motion while his ability to put things to complet zero can be used by touching his enemy or concentrate on him.

Personality: Lucien aka. Laziness is a laid back person, he hates everything but slacking off, his love for sleeping makes him an enemy which is easily underrestimated but heīs a fearsome one. Heīs not a deadly since heīs too lazy to even give his enemy the last but deadly strike. Heīs a living nihilist, so denying everything but atleast you can talk to him normally. The problem about Lucien would be to get him anywhere, not even wanting to walk on his own he needs devices to walk for him, maybe even subordinates.

Bio: It happens as always, someone dies, well here serveral people died. As Lucien was having a journey with his family, the court happened to came off the road, as it crashed his daughter and wife died instantly but Lucien therefor was flying outside the court. He landed on the river, his backbone broken. He wasnīt able to move, he wasnīt able to scream but well it happened that he coudnīt die. He was floating on his back, well aware that all he could hope for was death or someone who would catch a probably corpse out of a river. As he happened to float serveral days, he had seen everything, people who were passing by, people who threw stones at him, betting if they would hit them or not but no one dared to touch them, they were all too lazy.
After two weeks of floating in the river, he finally died....and then he was brought back from the dead. It was strange, he didnīt wanted to walk, nor did he wanted to eat or breathe, he was....lazy. What happened as he died was thatsomeone abused him as a object for his sick desires to try his skills on human transmutation. While the person tried to infude the dead oneīs cell into his own, he failed. The Man and the corpse was transfered into the Black gate but only one came back out again, it was the corpse but now living, alive but therefor cursed with the laziness.

    CaughtInTheRiddle: Oppression is accepted. ^_^

    Gravislayer: Laziness is accepted. ^_^

With that, I think we have enough people who have joined that I can get to work on the IC. I'll be posting it before next weekend. I look forward to seeing you all there. ^_^

Oh one question I did have about the Homunculus is what canon are you using for their powers and lifespan. The manga and the original FMA anime have a very different take on the homunculus and what their powers are based on?

Also has there been any backlash on Alchemists in general after the end of the Central War?

As for your first question, my own experience is primarily with the original anime series, so that is the basis I shall be using for their strengths and weaknesses, to a certain extent. As this is also a bit of an alternate storyline, I may tweak a bit of their weaknesses and how they are created. You can assume though that they are highly dangerous and nearly impossibly to kill under normal circumstances.

As for your second question, Alchemists in general maintain a certain amount of respect and control, this is largely because of the positive influence of Roy Mustang and his leadership as Fuhrer. However, as always, there are certain individuals and factions that distrust or even hate alchemists, especially state alchemists, to the point of ridicule, avoidance ore outright hostility.

Side note to all, I'm sorry I haven't posted the IC thread yet, some things came up IRL and I haven't been able to get around to it. I shall do my best to have it posted sometime this week. Again, sorry for making you all wait.
