Without an Avatar. [IC]

Shen stood there, staring down at another paralyzed body of a bender, who was obviously struck by a Chi Blocker. He stayed hidden in the shadows of people as someone pointed at him and yelled. “Chi Blocker!” She smirked then shook his head as he raised a brow. “You certainly don’t think I did this. I’m not even a Chi Blocker.” He spoke as everyone was backing away from him, siding with the other male as all eyes were on him. “You are obviously not a bender. Look at the colors you are wearing, the colors of a Chi Blocker.” The audience all nodded and agreed as Shen was getting angry by the minute by he decided to keep calm. The guards, metal-benders, came and threw their metal cuffs at him. He dodged them by twirling to the left then right, grabbing one of his swords, cutting the strings. The audience gasped and covered their mouths with their hands. “I tried being nice…” He took off his black cloak and threw it to the side while revealing his face and his long raven colored hair, even his black clothing, armbands, which were connected to the gloves and his boots. “But you guys couldn't even accept that so now, just got to show you how mean I am.” With that said, two guards charged at him as he threw two arrow darts, hitting them both then jumped in the air and struck another guard with his foot, striking the other with his sword.

Shen stood there, smirking as a guard appeared behind him and threw his metal cuffs towards Shen, which tied around him, causing him to drop his sword and fall forward on the ground.

Shen laughed as the audience watched the display unfold before their eyes. “You will all see that I am not a Chi Blocker.” His voice roared before they loaded him up in the back of a police vehicle, closing the door with a slam and he was hauled off. The ride towards the jail was silent, of course but when they got there, another report of a paralyzed bender had arisen on the radio. Shen’s head was lowered with his hands tied behind his back; few strands of hair fell over his eyes. When the doors opened, they grabbed him and pulled him out of the vehicle. Shen’s feet fell upon the ground below him as they walked him into the jail house and into the interrogation room.

Soon, a male walked in, hands behind his back as the person who escorted him closed the door.

“I heard that you are a Chi Blocker?”
The guard asked him, keeping his distance. Shen kept silent. There was no need for him to lie about that. The guard slammed his fists on the desk then shouted. “Answer me!” Shen looked up at the male then spoke in a cold tone. “I could answer you better, if my hands were not tied behind my back because it is painful.” He said as the guards snapped his fingers, the door opened and two guards walked in as they untied his hands. “No, I am not a Chi Blocker but I can tell you who is in charge of them.” Shen smirked as he saw the guard lean down before him and questioned. “Who?”
----------------------------------------------------------------------------

That was mere months ago; the avatar has now disappeared and is nowhere to be found. Shen was in his training room, taking practice swings at the dummies present then struck them with the final blow. When he was satisfied with his training, he placed his weaponry back in the case and put it away. Beads of sweat were dripping from his face on down to his shirtless body as he entered his bedroom now, walking through it as he headed towards the bathroom. He took a towel and wiped his face and body. He then ran a bath as he took off the rest of his clothing then dipped into the tub, which was steaming hot. Shen took a cloth and wet it as well, placing it over his head as he let out a soft sigh. He knew who was behind this whole Chi Blocking situation so that is why he called out for some of his bender friends to meet him at the tea house because he didn’t think that he could take on them himself, well he know he could, he just didn’t want to do it alone.

After sitting in the tub for a good fifteen minutes, he got up from his seated position and walked over to the towel rack, grabbing a towel to dry off his body then wrapped it around him while going back into his room, opening up his dresser drawers and pulling out his clothing for the day, which nothing more than a silver shirt and pants, with the matching armbands, gloves and black, silver boots. He reviewed himself over in the mirror then nodded to himself while also tying his hair up into a ponytail.

He was now off towards the tea house as he hoped that at least one of his bender friends were already there. Actually, he hoped all of them was there so that they could straight down to business.

The noise.

That was what always got to Tsuyoi when he worked in the smelting plant. He didn't mind the searing temperatures, the acrid fumes or the back breaking work moving tons of iron slag or heating the massive kilns. Even though he had lived in the metropolis that was Republic City for two years now and so was use to the general noise which never ended even in the dead of night there was still moments of silence with reminder him of the peace and calm of Huā Cūn. However the plant was just a constant wall of noise from machinery, boiling, clanging, grinding of metal and men’s shouts be it giving orders, asking for stuff or in some causes screaming in pain as something went wrong.

However he could not allow the noise of get to him, the rent was due soon and Tsuyoi would need the money plus unlike previously jobs where getting harder to come by even for a skilled fire bender like himself as more and more people flocked to the city looking for the better life. The young man had joked with his friends that if he didn't have his powers he would be tempted to joining the Equalists what with the priority some factory owners give to elemental users over non-users.
Though he and his friends joked they could almost taste the tension in the city with the increased kidnappings of benders and the greater presences of the radicals.

BLAARR!!

The mega-horns cry ended both his thoughts on the Equalist scum and his shift, putting down his tools he made his way over to the cash point where he could pick up his wages for the week.

“Tsuyoi! Tsuyoi!”

Two young boys and a girl round the same age as him all collided into the firebender all laughing a shouting excitedly, no matter how dark his mood Tsuyoi would immediately turn back into the real him when his friends Sako, Pi, and Juling showed up.

“What do you guys want crashing in on my work?”

Sako the oldest and strongest of the three threw his arm around Tsuyoi, “Well you know we have been working so hard lately, we were thinking that as its pay day we should have some fun” he said as slyly as possible. Everyone knew that last week Tsuyoi had said we wasn't going out for a while, however everyone also knew he would never be able to stick it.

“I’m not saying I’m going tonight, but what did you have planned?” the young man replied slowly at which point the supple arm of the beautiful Juling wrapped round his waist. “Well we were thinking of going to the Arena tonight” she said while batting her eye lashes at him “And you did promise me fire candy next time we went”.
With a sighing Tsuyoi looked at his measly payment *Barely enough to pay for the rent* he knew Old Wusing would be breathing down his neck this time after being a little late on his rent last time.

“Sorry guys I just really can't avoid it”

"Bah is because its because you spend all your money in that tea shop mooning over that tea girl" Juling retorted with a mock pout causing everyone to laugh an Tsuyoi to cringe in embarrassment."Come on guys!" whined Pi "Lets leave the love struck puppy, last one there byes the food!" With that they all darted off into the crowds of people shouting their good byes back as none of them wanted to pay for Sako's food not even Sako.

Tsuyoi chuckled as he watched his friends depart longing to be with them, looking at his hand again he signed as he tried to will the measly notes into multiplying. After a few seconds he put them into his pocket then allowed his feet to take him were he wanted to go, his friends knew him too well for as sure as night would come he would end up in that tea shop with a lonely cup of tea trying not to be noticed staring at the friend serving him.

*Ty, maybe someday I will have the courage to tell you how beautiful you are*

My intros aren't good, don't judge.

It was a pretty nice day, yet everyone seemed to want tea today. "Ty! Hurry up! Get to the tables!" A shrill elderly voice yelled from behind a counter top. Ty dusted her apron, walking from the back of the shop. "Relax Miku...I'm going." Three trays. One on her head, and two in each hand. She carefully weaved through the tables, setting one down at the desired table.
"Why thank you!"
"Thanks Ty!"
The girl nodded and continued going back and forth with trays and cups of tea. As she maneuvered, someone backed up their chair, bumping into Ty's side. "Oh!" Without stumbling or even a slight hesitation, Ty waved her hand in an upward motion, making the two cups that had slipped, hover until she was able to grab them. All the while, she had been balancing a tray on her head. "That was close." She breathed a sigh, and gave a slight smirk when she received an applause.
"I'm so, so sorry ma'am!" Ty only blinked at the man before nodding and turning to hand out the cups of tea. He gave a look of confusion until he was reassured that he was safe and not in trouble. "You need to be more careful Ty!" Miku scolded. Ty only rolled her eyes and continued her job.

"Ty!" She ignored the yells from the old man, and did the routine. Grab the tea, set the tables, clean the cups. The job made her rush back in forth, but it was pretty nice in a way. She loved the sweet smells of the different teas, and enjoyed listening to the tales that were told by elder warriors.
"Ty! You're off duty." This made her stop completely and grin. "Oh how lovely."
Removing her apron and untying her hair, she collected her day's pay and nodded to Miku. They exchanged goodbyes and she headed out the door and to the Pro-Bending Arena, like always. Though unnaturally, Miku rushed out to catch her. "Wait TY! I need you in there. At least until it clears up!" He pleaded. Ty thought about saying no, but sighed an followed him back to the shop. "This better count as overtime..." She had been so busy, she hadn't even noticed the familiar face sitting at the table as she served.

Breathe in.

Breathe out.

It wasn't worth it. He was an ant, nothing to get all hot and bothered about, and certainly nothing to her. So if she just ignored him, he'd go away eventually. The old man had told her that patience can be rewarding, that sometimes, waiting for the right time can give the greatest rewards.

So if she just...ignore him....

"Aww, c'mon girl, join me for just one drink. Me and my friends are getting a bit lonely..."

Patience is a virtue, right?

"Hey," Arrtelo Ginka said, a smile now on her face.

Encouraged, the man leaned in towards her. "Finally changed your mind little kitten?"

Her fist slammed into his face.

"Think fast."

***

The girl with the slightly bloodied face entered the teashop, looking for her acquaintances. Her grey jumpsuit and her tousled, dusty appearance betrayed the fact that she had just apparently finished up a fight. Arrtelo Ginka wiped her bloody nose with her arm, leaving a thin smear of blood on the waterproof material. This was not the first time she had been in a fight. This was also not the first time someone thought it was a good idea to call in the police, the cowards that they are. If they had wanted to fight, they had better be ready for the consequences. Arrt had a small smile as she recalled how satisfying the sound of that man's nose breaking under her fist sounds.

Her acquaintances did not seem to have arrived yet.

"Tch.."

She picked out a table by a window, where she could see outside. Being ready for anything was one of the most important things to remember if you wanted to survive in her opinion, especially when there are Equalists, Triad members, and other idiots roaming the streets. Not that she was scared of any of them. She made her order from a frightened looking waitress, and started to sip on some tea the waitress brought her.

Arrt wondered idly if that old fart had eaten lunch, as she waited for her acquaintances.

So....If I was a necromancer before...Is this an improvement?
My challenge to myself from now on. I will accompany every IC post with a picture I draw, regardless of how bad it is. I may not be able to put one up if the potato I call my broadband acts up however.

"...and please make sure to dust behind the books.", said the old woman as her husband ushered her out the door, smiling at Hana before shutting it.

The Waterbender sighed as she looked to her right at the enormous sitting room. A bucket full of sudsy water lay at her feet. The sitting room was a glorious mess, somehow the old coots that had just left had the life in them to throw a humongous party without breaking a hip. An overbearing smell of wine wafted through the room, causing her to gag at the dry stench. First order of business was to open a damn window. Shuffling behind a couch, she fiddled with a latch for several minutes, suffering each second as she swore that her lungs were being sterilized by the alcohol in the air. The window swung open after a particularly hard push on the latch before Hana stuch her head out and took in a deep breath and sighed. Time to actually start.

Making a beckoning motion at the bucket, the soapy water floated up out of the bucket before starting to flow around her. Hana walked through the room and started with the obvious stains from spilled wine and dropped food. Bending bits of the water into the carpet to soak, she moved through the large room relatively quickly. Bending the rest of the water back into the bucket, she used the water in her skin to grab a feather duster from a nearby table, freezing water around the handle and dragging the thing to her before returning the water to her skin. Stepping amongst the soaking spots of water and mess, she dusted off the furniture, sweeping crumbs and dust off the furniture onto the floor. After about an hour, the furniture was spotless, though the carpet had suffered for it. Almost done, Hana beckoned for the water in her skin before crossing to the end of the room. She wiped some sweat off her brow before she soaked the water into the edge of the carpet and started to bend the water across, picking up the crumbs she had swept onto the carpet and absorbing the soaked stains into the line of moisture. Dragging the water through the carpet, she breathed deeply in concentration, pulling the wave steadily and slowly. When her feet touched wood, Hana sighed in relief and pulled the rest of the water out of the carpet, bending the disgusting mix of wine, food and water, into an empty container. She grimaced as she made her way to the kitchen sink and refilled her water skin. Taking up the payment left for her on a counter, she snatched a small roll of bread from a basket and wrapped it up in cloth before leaving, counting the bills and smiling. She wasn't going to pull out each of those books and dust.

____________________________________________

A young woman wearing wrinkled clothes, and a tired expression walked along one of the busier roads in Republic City. A water skin hung at her side and a sense of weariness hung about her being as she trudged along, weaving her way through a particularly big crowd. Despite rush hour having already past, the street was still crowded with people trying to get to one of the many markets, people hailing cabs, and others simply lounging about talking. Hana gently pushed her way through a thick pocket of people huddled around a radio, blaring some promotion for a Pro-Bending match that night. The advertisement was catchy and overexcited and it was obvious by the murmuring of the crowd, that it was probably going to be a good match. Hana tried to smooth out some of the wrinkles on her sleeves and shirt as she rounded the corner off the busy road into a slightly less congested path. The rowdy atmosphere of a bar street was unmistakable. Shouting could be heard from nearly every open doorway as men and even some women cooled off in one of the many bars and talked. As is expected though, some indulge in too much drink and start causing a ruckus. As Hana passed by, a man tripped out of a bar, slurring and shouting at a big bouncer at the door.

Suppressing a giggle at the man's condition, Hana hurried on, hoping to make it to the tea shop in time to catch a fresh brew. The shop seemed to work like clockwork and it was always at this hour that the tea was beginning to run dry and a new batch was made. And that new batch always tastes best. A small bun wrapped in cloth appeared from within her coat and as she unwrapped the edge, her stomach grumbled. Crossing a street and rounding a corner after another block, the bun was long gone by the time the tea shop was in sight. Making a beeline for the shop, Hana was only distracted by a barker near a news stand.

"EXTRA EXTRA! Three Triple Threats found brutally murdered in an alley! No Triad is taking responsibility! Read all about it!"

Hana veered off her path to the news stand and quietly handed over a crumpled bill for a paper. The barker continued as she folded the paper and made her way to the shop, waving at Arrtello through the window before coming inside and sitting across from her. Placing her water skin on the table with the folded up paper on top she couldn't help but smile broadly at the blood staining Arrt's face.

"Looks like someone tried flirting with you again.", she said with a mischievous grin, her eyes crinkling oh so slightly, "How close did he get to first base, Arrty?"

Shen walked along the streets, now going through the market area, where people were standing outside, and shouting for people to come for a visit. Shen simple laughed as he just watched the display. His eyes scanned the area as he heard something collapse behind him, sounding like a body hitting the ground. Indeed that’s what it was. He turned heel and ran towards the body, crouching down beside it as the male could barely move. “What happened? Are you okay?” He viewed over the male’s body as more started to join in. How could no one see this happening? It was in the middle of the market place at that. Shen stood upright now as he saw that the Republic City’s paramedics were coming, even the police force. “I’m assuming a Chi Blocker did this.” Shen said as he glared at everyone then shrugged his shoulders while turning away from the scene, pushing through the sea of people before him. ‘Damn police force.’ He thought to himself while walking into the tea shop as he spotted an almost irritated Ty and Tsuyoi, who was already ordering his tea or whatever.

“Couldn’t wait could you?” Shen asked with a hint of laughter following as he sat down, looking up at Ty.

“What’s wrong, Ty?” He asked her while looking at Tsuyoi. “What did you do?” He pointed at him then looked back at Ty. “What did he do to you?” He glared at Tsuyoi then laughed while ordering him something as well. “By the way, I’ll have some herbal tea.” He said with a simple nod then saw Hana and Arrtelo, sitting alone. “What? They think that their too good to sit with us?” He said while glaring at them, waving for them to come and sit down with them. When Ty would bring out their orders, he would pat the spot next to him, for her to sit. “Take a load off for a moment. It’s only for a moment.” He said as he scooted over and waited for everyone to get comfortable before clearing his throat, speaking again. “Wow. Look at you guys, been a minute since we spoke, huh?” He laughed then stopped while looking serious now, speaking in a serious cold tone. “Now, down to business. The Equalist Chi Blocking forces are getting more and more benders by the minute. I fear for you guys.” He said while lowering his head then bringing it back up with a snap of his index finger. “But, fear not! We are here to put an end to this. Do you think you guys can handle it?” He waved his hands dismissively at them while smiling, folding his arms inward, propping his elbows up on the table. “I know that I can handle them all by myself.” That was the cockiness speaking from him, since he has always been that way.

She awaited answers from all of them as he took a small sip from his tea, his locked with everyone’s.

The evening was a hot and sticky one made worse by the crowds of people making their way, be it workers either going to or from shifts at the factories which never sleep, people heading to the Pro-Bending arena or other forms of entertainment. The masses showed the true demography of Republic with rich and destitute rubbing shoulder to shoulder, dotted among them were Triads, swindlers and pickpockets as the rats of the city awoke with the setting sun. When Tsuyoi had first come here he had found the mass of people both exciting and overwhelming, not even the great city of Ba Sing Se could match. Tǔ quickly learned you could not just walk in a straight line during these periods or you would never get anywhere, rather you would have to weave, duck and dodge your way around almost as if the whole city was preforming some intricate unspoken dance. The young fire bender carefully ducked around a group of triads one of the few groups whose fear could make the crowds part like a shark in a school of fish, he had made the mistake once of bumping into one once and though Tsuyoi had won the fight it had been a rather painful lesson in what to expect when you mess with them.

As Tǔ moved he could hear bits and pieces of conversation, apparently there had been another attack by Equalists some poor farming boy barely off the paddy fields had been set upon and was now hospitalized. Tsuyoi touched his scar his mind taken back earlier days, if it hadn't of been due to his bending skills and a lot of luck that could have been him. The whole city seemed to talk of nothing else except for tonight's match, which was meant to be one which will go down in the history books.

*Don't be an idiot dude* Tsuyoi thought to himself shaking his head *You Can't afford it*

Sighing he slide between two parked Cabbage trucks and headed down a smaller less crowded street, he wasn’t that far from the tea shop now so his mid turned to Ty. He couldn’t understand why he was s fixated with this girl, he had gone out with his fair share of woman in the past some of them maybe even a little better looking than her but there is just something about her with captives him. Maybe it’s her eyes or her hair or something but whatever it is when he is around her Tsuyoi can never express his feelings. He glanced at a flower stand remembering the last time he tried to give her a bunch; he had bottled at the last moment and said they were for someone else. The young bender couldn't even tell if he had hurt her cause she shows so little emotion.

By the time Tsuyoi reached the shop evening was properly setting, he had been working in the factory since 7am and looked it. Holding back a yawn Tǔ nervously tried to tidy himself up a bit, rubbing off the dirt on his hands and face on a equally dirty top then runiing his hands through his think shaggy hair in a desperate if futile attempt to neaten it.

"Come on Tsuyoi be cool, it's only Ty"

With that Tsuyoi entered the shop, though he came often to see Ty she wasn't the only reason he came. The tea shops owner an old lady called Miki while a strict old bag new how to cater to her customer, the inside was set up just like a traditional countryside tea shop of home right down to the soft smell of cherry oak burning on the fire. As usual the vast majority of those in there hailed from the fields and villages of the Earth Kingdom who had come to Republic and now who wanted a place to remind them of home. Not only could you get a good cup of traditional Asuma tea, they also made meals that every mans mother would have made him as a boy. Thus Tǔ has spent many an evening in here talking with others remembering home.

So wrapped up in thoughts of home and Ty, the homesick man did not notice Arrty instead heading for a table near to the wood burner and next to a window so he could watch the city rush past. Reaching into his pockets he pulled out a crumpled packet, then softly moaned when he realized it was empty. Leaning over he tapped an old man at the next table on the shoulder, "Could you spare a felling homesick man a cigarette?" to which the old man smiled a handed him one. Nodding his thanks he leaned back, as he did he clicked his fingers and a small flame appeared smaller than a candle flame to which he light the cigarette off. Inhaling deeply he waited for Ty to get round to him.

When she finally got to him, Tǔ could tell she wasn't happy which surprised him due to the fact that she usually shows so little emotion.

"Whoa whats wrong? Did someone kill your cat or something"

He immediately regretted saying something so stupid to her, his eyes going a little pink at the thought of embarrassing himself in front of her yet again. Luckily (or not Tsuyoi couldn't decide) Shen showed up, though only to make it worse by thinking it was Tǔ who had pissed off Ty. Ignoring Tsuyoi's attempts to explain that he wasn't the culprit Shen called over Hanna and Arrty who the fire bender had not even noticed, thus the gang was all here and Shen started talking about some crazy plan of his.

"Dude are you nuts?" laughed Tsuyoi as he took another drag on his cigarette "These ain't no Triad ganger, these are bloody psychopaths, last time I run into some of them they gave me this" He pointed at his scar for dramatic effect, Tsuyoi did not want to be labeled a coward by his friends but he knew the dangers and if Tǔ hadn't did what he did that would have been him in the hospital. Quickly he shut off his mind to the events of two years ago, what was in the past should stay there.

"They will capture us, turn us and put us into the hospital like that farmer kid, who knows what they will do with a armed bending sympathizer!"

Thankfully, the shop started to come to a peaceful standstill, unlike earlier's rush. Although the constant whining of the shop owner did slightly annoy the poor air bender. Ty leaned against the counter, listening to Miku whine about perfection. "Now, now Miku. You must remembered that I was suppose to be off an hour ago." At least that was able to quiet her down. Ty continued serving whatever the customers ordered, in a quiet and quick manner. That is, until she was stopped by two elders that came regularly. "Good evening to you both." She gave a polite smile before handing them their usual tea and after receiving a short and repetitive story of how a nice girl like herself should go out to see what the world offered rather than stay in a stuffy tea shop. "One day. Maybe one day."

Next was counting to see which tables were missed. Three- two since Miku took orders from one, which had been Artello and Hana. "Aren't those your little band of misfits?" This caught Ty's attention from counting, and she gave a slight nod to Miku. Hopefully, they would be able to brighten up her mood even if she didn't seem to show it. Her normal look of having a lack in interest always seemed to push people away, or discourage them. The pale-eyed girl didn't try to seem so boring, it was just how she was. But she was sure they would know that by now.
"Now how can I help you tw-" Ty raised an eyebrow in curiosity as they started speaking in concern. Shen and Tsuyoi noticed she was upset? That was new. Maybe they were paying attention more. Or maybe she was breaking a bad habit? "No Shen. I can assure you Tsuyoi had nothing to do with it. He is his normal weird self." She couldn't help but give a small laugh as Shen ignored Tsuyoi's attempts of explanation.
Ty was obviously oblivious to the embarrassing moments the fire bender had around her. She assumed it as a natural thing from him, seeing he acted that way all the time. Ty basically, was oblivious to the feelings that Tsuyoi expressed.
"Actually. I was suppose to be off about an hour ago, but it got too crowded around here. So here I am. Though I'm sure my cat dying- if I had one, would probably be a bit more depressing." Ty shrugged lightly, pushing a few strands of hair behind her ear.

"Herbal Tea. Got it." Ty nodded to Shen and looked at Tsuyoi. "And for you?" Once his order was taken, she slipped away from the group to pour the fresh cups of tea being made by Miku. "I'm going to take a quick break Miku and talk to my misfits." Ty received a grunt and a nod, so she grabbed the fresh tea and returned to the table with her band of friends. She slipped in the chair in between Shen and Tsuyoi and rested her head in her hands. "It's nice seeing you all again."
Ty's attention turned to Shen, who began with a speech. He was always the one with the speech, being the "leader" of the pack after all. The talk of Equalists had Ty thinking about what she had heard from a few customers. Equalists were getting bold and coming out during the day. It was getting more and more dangerous being outside of the Air Temple. The one place she was sure they had never gone...at least not yet.
"Well. I don't know about you guys...but I like my bending. I don't plan on getting it taken from me any time soon." She couldn't help but give a small smirk. "Aw, come on Tsuyoi. I've seen you fight. You're pretty strong. All of you are pretty deadly for that matter. Teaming up and fighting seems like it would get us somewhere." Tsuyoi's scar reminded Ty of her own scar intricately placed on her shoulder to her elbow. Even though it was a scar from a fire bender, of...one of the many gangs, it still reminded her of the difficulty of what Shen asked from them. Ty blew a cold breath over a cup of tea she had, and cooled it down. After taking a small sip, Ty looked up, holding her normal expression. "I'm in."

Thank you Lillian!

She lifted the cup and took a sip of the hot tea, careful not to burn her tongue. One of the reasons she even bothered to go to this place was the tea, else she'd have just rejected Shen's invitation to meet up in this place. It was tedious to go pass all those streets and people, especially when you live outside in a fisherman's hut. Actually, a hut is too glorious a name for the old man's house, the old and run down thing that it was. She gave a small laugh, imagining the old man's reaction to that, when she actually told him. He didn't seem to mind, and pointed out the fact that she was living there too. True, she lives there in the old man's house, and complaining is hardly appropriate when you live in someone's house, though that didn't stop her from complaining.

Arrtelo snapped from her reverie as someone pulled up a chair next to her.

"Looks like someone tried flirting with you again."

Hanalee. A waterbender from somewhere she forgot. Hana was also prettier and taller than Arrt was, which secretly annoys her constantly. Hana seemed to avoid fighting though, which was idiotic in Arrt's opinion.

"How close did he get to first base, Arrty?"

Arrt gave a rather annoyed look at that, one she seemed to wear most of the time around Hana. "Don't call me Arrty." Not that it matters, Hana always seemed to call her that every chance she gets. "And I punched out his teeth before he got anywhere near me."

The paper that Hana brought along with her caught Arrtelo's eyes, the headlines seemingly popping out of the page as the words Triple Threats registered itself in Arrtelo's mind. It seemed that three Triple threats were killed in an alley, and no one had stepped forth to take responsibility. She gave a grin, revealing her missing molar, as she thought back to the three she trapped in the alley. Were they the same three in the papers? She did not know, not unless she was to read it properly.

As she looked around to the hustle and bustle of the tea shop, she caught a glare from a black haired man, another of her acquaintances. He seemed to be sitting with another, a firebender who was heads over heel in love with an airbender working in this tea shop, who was as dumb as a rock when it comes to love. Coincidentally, both of them were her acquaintances as well.

She tapped the table to get Hana's attention and gestured towards the other table. Arrt herself took a seat opposite of Shen, the black haired man. If she remembered correctly, he didn't have an ounce of bending in his blood. When everyone was finally seated down, Shen started speaking. He thinks himself as some sort of leader, the pompous bastard that he was.

“Now, down to business. The Equalist Chi Blocking forces are getting more and more benders by the minute. I fear for you guys.”

Arrtelo scoffed at that.

“But, fear not! We are here to put an end to this. Do you think you guys can handle it?” He waved his hands dismissively at them while smiling, folding his arms inward, propping his elbows up on the table. “I know that I can handle them all by myself.”

Tsuyoi the firebender, seemed to have some problem with the plan, the coward that he was. The airbender Ty was braver than he was, but then again, she might be thinking the fighting would be as mundane and idiotic as fighting common thugs. The chiblockers, the Equalists were dangerous because of their trainings, their ability to block bendings, and their agility. But they were people, and people can be defeated. So for Arrt's answer....

"No."

She stood up. "If you are so confident of taking them on yourself, then go do it yourself, and don't waste my time on this idiocy. I won't burden myself with dead weights."

With that, she put down several coins, enough to pay her bills and kicked her chair out of the way as she exited the building.

Mr. No Bending think's he can take the chiblockers alone. Laughable, and idiotic. He can barely fight out of a paperbag with a razor knife, how does he expect to fight against the Equalist?

But what if he can?

That small nagging voice tugged at her feelings, making her wonder if it was out of true confidence or just bluffing. What if he actually can face them all alone? It would be disgraceful if she, an earth bender, could not best a non bender. It would be a considerable embarrassment. She would be the laughing stock of the year. Her blood started to boil as she thought of Shen's smug face.

She should pay some Equalists a visit.

So....If I was a necromancer before...Is this an improvement?
My challenge to myself from now on. I will accompany every IC post with a picture I draw, regardless of how bad it is. I may not be able to put one up if the potato I call my broadband acts up however.

Fo arose early that morning, unable to get a full nights rest for the past several months; having nightmares of the darkness that seemed to slowly creep into his home. He lazily flung himself out of bed with a groggy stumble, making his way to the washroom. Rubbing his eyes with a heavy yawn he stopped in front of the mirror. Dropping his hands he blinked a few times to remove the early fuzz from his vision. He was a mess, having tossed and turned all night long his hair was out in all directions and his eyes red from lack of sleep. He quickly slipped out of his clothes and bathed, letting the hair water wash away his worries til it lost its warmth. He stepped out of the bath, drying off leisurely as he walked back into the room and produced a set of clothes. Noticing a tray of breakfast with his morning letters he decided to dress in a moment. He wrapped the towel snug around his waist and walked to the tray. The letter on top read 'Urgent' in bright red ink. This peaked Fo's interest though the grumbling in his stomach was quite pressing. He picked up a small, halved sandwich and took a rather large bite for the size of his mouth. As he chewed he set down the sandwich and picked up the letter.

Tearing the seal with his index finger he withdrew the neatly folded letter. Unfolding it he swallowed, letting his dim amber eyes skim over its contents. 'A summons to meet shen?' he thought curiously to himself as he looked up on the wall clock. Sighing lightly to himself. "Seems I am going to be late." He mentioned nonchalantly to himself as the time to arrive was in three minutes from now. He finished his half sandwich before dropping his towel, a censor bar appearing out of thin air to hover over his pelvis as to ward off any unwanted glances (:P). Fo slipped on his boxers and pants, the censor bar blinking away as fast as it arrived. He than pulled on a white button down shirt and attached all the buttons to the opposing flap of fabric and tucking it into his trousers. He than put on a nice black silk vest before slipping on a nice dress coat. He put on a simple black tie and tied it before stuffing its excess length under the vest. Fo than headed down stairs and out of the estate without a word to the elderly butler who sat snoring in a large chair, a feather duster dangling down from the leather strap around his wrist.

Fo headed out onto the heavily crowded street, sticking out like a sore thumb dressed as he was; you know, suit and tie in a predominantly Asian themed landscape. Though Fo hardly cared, about anything really for he was tremendously apathetic. The walk was rather long from the wealthy district down to the tea shop. As he was nearing the location his nostrils flared in delight as the scent of sweet buns wafted by. His eyes nearly rolled back in ecstasy but the urgency of finding the sweet bun shop was most important. His eyes lit up with excitement as they scanned frantically across the crowd until alas they found the little shop with a small billow of steam rolled out of the rafters. Fo was off like a horse at the track and the gates were open. He dashed through the crowd, his training allowing him to dance and weave through the flock of people ushering through the streets. He dove into the shop and landed into a roll, getting to his feet he found the floor was freshly mopped and he slid into the far wall with a large bang. He slammed and bounced off the wall, he would have sworn he saw two tiny birds circling above his head as he wobbled about. He shook his head to clear his vision and away the birds went. He rubbed his head as he walked to the counter, slamming his free hand on the counter to get the attendants attention. "I demand all of your sweet buns!" with that he tossed a large pouch of gold coins with a clatter of metal.

The woman behind the counter gave Fo a strange look, not only for his weird attire but for the fact he was asking to purchase twenty sweet buns. She picked up the pouch of coins with a quiet grunt of strain and dropped it into a vault before packaging the twenty sweet buns into an obscenely large paper bag. She placed it on the counter and Fo beamed with excitement. He grabbed the bag and waved goodbye before heading back out into the street. He returned to making his way to the tea shop, his hand dipping into the bag and retrieving a sweet bun and shoving it into his mouth; his cheeks poofing out to such a degree it resembled that of a chipmunk foraging for winter. Two minutes and five sweet buns later and he finally set foot into the tea shop. He looked around as he swallowed the large mass of sweet bun until he saw the back of Shen's head at a table of several other colorful characters. Fo seemed to arrived at a rather low part of the evening cause a woman seemed to stand up, say something he couldn't hear and storm off in a huff. Fo watched as she passed him and out of the tea shop, a puzzled look on his young face.

Fo walked over to the table and sat down without a word just to the left of Shen. Setting the bag of treats on the floor in front of himself and under the table he hoped no one would ask for one of his precious sweet buns. "Hey." Fo greeted simply, digging down into the bag once more to pull out another sweet bun. This time he took smaller bites, sitting at a table with women made him a little nervous.
