The World:

The landscape and terrain of the majority of Tyre is a mountainous, temperate climate.

However, the lands are split by a vast, uninhabitable desert.

Serell as seen from the shore:

The Island of Serell is the mythical resting place of the Medallion of Prayers.
However, the path to the island is beset on all sides by monsters, seemingly impassable terrain, and an ocean. The trip will not be easy. The island is also, according to legend, guarded by creatures and beasts of all sorts, including life never seen on the continent of Tyre. No one who has attempted reaching the island has made it there, however, so no other information is currently available to you. However, the oldest surviving depiction of the island is:

A bit of established lore:
During the first wars between Iadel and Ashem, there existed a third kingdom known as Ragora which dominated all of Tyre. The two kingdoms discovered the Medallion of Prayers and banded together to fend off the Ragoran forces. The Medallion was used in the hands of the two good kings, Cael the Humble and Jorrick the Bold, and resulted in the defeat of Ragora which split the continent into three bodies of land. The land of Ragora was split from the main continent, and the second new continent split again, leading to the creation of Donnrack and Nahinus. The remaining continent is home to the kingdoms Iadel and Ashem, and was name Tyre. After the war against Ragora, the two kings were said to have split, the Iadel king (according to Ashem lore) wanting to take all the power for his own kingdom, while the Ashem king (according to Iadel lore) wanted to take all the power for his own kingdom.

Current State of Affairs:
War between Ashem and Iadel, the Fourth Great War, recently ended. It has been ten years since Ashem surrendered to Iadel, under the conditions that their Kingdom would retain its currently held lands, up until The Great Divide. Iadel claimed all land south of the desert. The peace is uneasy, at best, and both nations have troops stationed along The Great Divide, in case of aggression from the opposing nation. Ashem lost many civilians, as well as population, while Iadel retained significantly less combat losses.

The Medallion of Prayers is a mystical item, described in legends older than Tyrian history itself. It is believed to hold the power to grant any wish, and caused the downfall of Ragora a few millenia ago.

Some facts about Elysian Fields:
This will take place in a medieval setting.
There will be no magic
There will be monsters
There will be plenty of villains.
There is only one playable species: Humans
It is expected that your character would name his/her weapon
Alchemy is an acceptable form of "science", though this does not imply any Full Metal Alchemist stuff. This is mixing herbs to make elixirs, potions, and what have you.
There will be organized and pagan religions. There will be no angels, demons, divine help, etc.
Between the two kingdoms lies a desert.
The world is ethnically diverse.
Characters can be from either nation. We will generally give players their first choice, but some balancing will need to occur.
Characters can, and will, die. However, this will not happen often.
Acceptance in the RP is based off of Marx's and Amodeus's discretion, but we are looking for 8 players.
We have written an entire plot, but the ending and action between points will be decided by the action you take IC, much like Mass Effect.

We have prepared some "roles" that may be good to fill. However, these are not strict, and do not need to be followed. It is simply in your best interest to have a balanced adventuring group.

1. You've lost footing in a cavern and have fallen into a pit, separated from your group. In the darkness, you see several sets of yellow eyes expectantly watching you. The only way out is either up or through the direction the things that are watching you are. Which do you chose and how do you go about doing so?

2. A member among your team is a thief wanted by your kingdom's guard! He's saved your life once and hasn't been a burden to your group. What do you do? Why?

3. You are being hunted through the desert by cannibalistic tribesmen. They capture one of your group members and have him caged, waiting to cook him up and eat him. The group is looking to. Do you leave him or rescue him? How would you go about it?

4. You encounter another group, their group being filled entirely with counters to your group. Tensions run high and party members of both group begin to draw their arms. How do you handle the situation?

5. A party member has been severely wounded and your group is far removed from the civilized world. He's too weak to go on any further and if he does not receive medical attention, he will die. Do you carry on with your mission or do you risk all of your progress to save his life?

6. A party member of yours and a party member of an opposing group from the opposing kingdom found themselves attracted to one another and have formed a relationship. If you demand they they cut their ties, you may lose a party member. If you invite the opposing party member to join you, your group may be betrayed. How do you handle this situation?

7. The opposing empire's kingdom has recently mobilized their entire army. The capital, and most importantly, the emperor are vulnerable. Do you risk everything to cut down the emperor or do you bide time to make sure your group is more prepared?

Player Guidelines/Expectations:
- Marx and Amodeus are your gods. Bow to them. We are not mortals, here. Do not make it so.
- Post once every other day, at the very least. We are aware you exist outside of the internet (some of you), and have things to do. That said, we don't want to wait around forever. If the RP has posts often, it keeps the story fresh and interesting. Try to match how often your fellow RPers post. This is not a serialized work (Technically, it is, but you get my point.). Do not make it so.
- This is high casual/ low advanced. Please write something that advances the action, has character development, or adds to the story. We expect at least (750) words per post. That is not too much to ask. This is not in the Free Roleplay section. Do not make it so.
- Do not fight in our OOC. I've seen it happen too often. Do not hide your qualms, either. PM the other player, settle your disputes. We will get involved if we need to, but this is not intended as a high school simulator. Do not make it so.
- Romance is encouraged. More often than not, it adds another dimension to the RP. That said, this is not a porn site. Do not make it so.
- Vulgarity is allowed, to a point. Dialogue in the real word is often spiced up with profanity. However, this is not a stereotypical obscene rap song. Do not make it so.
- If you have a question, ask it. We are not Samuel L. Jackson, we will not kneecap you for asking, "What?" (Unless, of course, you deserve it). Information is power. This is not North Korea. Do not make it so.
- This is supposed to be a fun, enjoyable activity, for all involved. Make it so.

Notes:
Communicating with your fellow players will be vital. Many of you will collab posts, to make things smoother. For this, we have created a few Etherpads, one for each group of players, as well as one for us all to share. The links will be PM'd to you upon character acceptance. Here, we will give you Nation-specific information, as well as how to begin in IC, among other things. Each nation will be given differing pieces of information. When the RP comes to an end, there will be a "winner", and we have written several different endings based on the outcome of the mission, and the results of each group. Appearance:
Akiel has obsidian, shoulder–length hair which appears broken and weathered. He holds a determined stare with his piercing green eyes. He has a small collection of aged scars which trace their way from his chin to the furthest part of his right jaw. Along with his jagged chin, and his rough stubble, Akiel’s other noticeable feature is his tattoo which begins from the left side of his neck across to his left shoulder and finally ending just underneath his left pectoral. The tattoo combines the images of memories of his past; each engraving a tale of his difficult history, so that he would never forget what he had been through to get to where he is today and the reason for why he is here today. Considering his weight and build, Akiel weighs in at a solid 190 pounds, he isn’t a mountain of meat, but he is lean and lithe, and his body has been formed from the rough lifestyle which he chooses to live. His skin shows continuous signs of strain and torture with more scars decorating his body. His skin appears weather-beaten, an uneven shade of tan formed from days spent in the blistering heat.

Ketsl: Ketsl is a bluish-silver coloured bastard blade which holds a striking aesthetic. The blade is quite long – several inches longer than the average longsword, allowing Akiel to cut through groups of enemies with wide arcing swings. The blade is double edged with the forward facing edge curving outward to form its guard. The blade, although appearing heavy and weighted has been designed to be handled with either one or both hands – depending on the situation one finds themselves presently. Ketsl does not have any distinctive pommel, and the unusual hilt contains an even more unusual centrepiece – the carving of a dragon skull with two red, glowing gems placed into the eye sockets.

Saris: Saris is a wrist-mounted repeater crossbow which can fire a number of deadly bolts about 5 inches in length. The repeater is made from various numbers of materials, specifically the carvings from the skull of an infant boar. The crossbow is placed along Akiel’s forearm, acting as both a bracer and a deadly weapon. Aside from the skull of a boar, the weapon has a pair of tusks, fixed onto both sides of the crossbow and extending outwards – away from Akiel’s arm acting as the stock for the bow, and can also be used to pierce through armour and flesh – if he is close enough to make the kill.

Saris also contains a fast-loading mechanism which allows Akiel to fire off up 7 bolts under quick succession before having to be reloaded again by inserting a strip of bolts into the mechanism, and ejecting the strip which bound the bolts together.

Cepheus only uses Sanguine if he must get close in a fight, must be stealthy, or really wants to be close to his target as he dies.

There are contradictions all around Dart. He is light skinned, freckled, red hair that curls around the neck of his collar leather vest or jacket, and most often a short red beard that covers his chin more so than his cheeks. Those who wander the woods are most often darker. Those to say they spend all their days outside most often have a tan leather look to their hands and face. Dart looks a bit too fair for the role he claims. He is lean and short, not excessively so but he slips through crowds of men and most often has to jump on his toes to see over the heads of others.

He also has an Altati, It consists of a shaft with a cup or a spur at the end that supports and propels the butt of the dart, which he calls Tasca, in the same old tongue, means to stake a claim.

Torin's Bulwark - His armour, made of a patchwork of iron, steel, cloth, and leather. The armour/clothing he wears is held mostly together with sinew and leather belts. The suit of armour Myles wears was created by him to fit his body perfectly, such is tradition with the young men of his world. The only portion of his body that is not covered with cloth, leather, or metal is his face and neck. His joints are mostly protected with metals, his left shoulder being guarded by thick leather since mobility is needed more in that arm.

Appearance:
A noseless brute.
The struggle for existence in the front rows of battlefields washed away all that was gentle and friendly from the noseless fighter. Six feet two for almost two hundred pounds; his entire look is anything but pleasant or reassuring: his face is a collection of sharp lines, with high and wide cheekbones, a massive chin. His nose was lost in a cruel brawl against enemies forces: isolated from his companions during the Fourth Great War, he panicked and attempted to madly dig his way out through flesh, blood and enemy bones. A stray blade swept across his face, maiming him forever. He was only seventeen.
His defiant stare, shining under massacred brows, has the color and the feel of steel. A long ugly scar traverses his face from side to side giving him a permanent creepy smile. His mouth is long and thin, dried by the scorching sun of the watch along the desert border, and cut by the biting of teeth during fistfights. His hair is short, dark, cut with a knife as soon as it is long enough to be hold in a fist. So is his beard, most of the time absent, cut as soon as a blade can catch its growth. His ears are torn, munched upon, suffering too many punches, too many bites. This marvelous head rests upon a bull's neck emerging between two large powerful shoulders. His body holds grotesque resemblance to ancient sculptures of beauty, although mixed together, and exaggerated in these features that would make a man comfortable wielding steel and wearing iron amidst flying arrows and whirling claws of death-screaming enemies.

Warf (War-fuh) | Ashem
Typical height sits at around 2.5 meters. Infrequently seen. Tends to feast on farm animals. Very aggressive if interrupted whilst eating. They live in burrows in the forests, digging into the soil and sleeping under the roots of trees. They're solitary animals, though their burrows are typically located within a kilometer of another Warf. Warfs are nomadic creatures, migrating whenever a hunting ground runs out of prey.

Heighlords (hey-yuh-lords) | The Great Divide
Heighlords stand anywhere from 1.9 to 2.1 meters in height and are very human-like overall, though noticably more slender. Their skin is thick like leather, capable of standing the harsh sandstorms of the Great Divide which they call home. Heighlords communicate in clicking sounds among other Heighlords and in the presence of Heighdrones, they make more guttural noises ranging from growls to grunts. What the lack in strength, they make up for in numbers. The Heighlords have a particular love for humans, seeing them as a delicacy.

Heighdrones (hey-yuh-drones) | The Great Divide
Heighdrones are much shorter than their counterparts, standing at 1.8 meters. Their bodies are thick and stocky, though what they lack in size they make up for in muscle. Heighdrones lack eyes and navigate using vibrations. They're subserviant to the Heighlords and travel in packs with the company of, often times, a single Heighlord.

Tago (Tay-go) | Ashem, Iadel, Serrell
The Tagos are pack creatures, like bipedal wolves that have grasped the basics of weaponry. These creatures, which typically stand at 1.5 meters, are quick on their feet, often times using their arms in addition to their legs to run on the ground. The only thing that Tagos love more than fresh meat is shiny metal, which they will horde and stockpile in their caves. If encountered in the wild, their recognizable way of communication by yelping often indicates that they're moving in to attack. Their brains are small, though their ribs are brittle. A rough hit to the torso is usually enough to kill, or at the very least, knock out these beasts.

Dommgorah (Dom-gore-Ah) | The Great Divide
Wandering herd animals of the Great Divide, these beasts are nearly 2.8 meters at their heighest point. The Dommgorah are incredibly hard skinned creatures, capable of taking brutal blows with little injury. They're incredibly docile and are often used by the few that are bold enough to cross the Great Divide since they can travel days with little to no water and carry several hundred kilograms with ease.

Olea (Oh-leah) | The Ocean
A foul mixture of woman and fish, Olea are the stuff of legend and horror among sailors. They're known to anything of flesh that hangs over the edge of a boat. Few have been captured, and those that have did not go out before taking several sailors with them. Their razor-like teeth shred through flesh and bone like cleavers. They can swim quickly through the water, far quicker than any human can swim. If given the chance, they will drag sailors to the depths and watch them drown before feasting on them.

Kali'Thoran (Cal-lee Thor-ran) | Serrell
Another creature known to inhabit the island of Serrell. The Kali'Thoran are said to function in a hunter-gatherer society and they're believed to use weapons such as swords in their hunts. From reports of those who claim to have escaped Kali'Thoran hunters, the creatures arm themselves with weapons and armour of ships that have crashed on Serrell's shores. They're also rumored to be capable of speech, though everything known of the Kali'Thoran is based in rumor and suspicion.

Boff (Baugh-fuh) | Ashem, Iadel
These simple minded creatures reside high on the mountains. What they lack for intelligence they make up for in brute strength and thick bones. They're difficult to kill, their brain governing so little of their body that their skull could cave in and they'd hardly notice. These creatures stand at 2.2 to 2.3 meters and have flat teeth used to grind down bones, since they eat their prey whole. Boffs will eat anything that has meat on its bones, be it goat, tago, or human. They live in caves and are a nocturnal species. Superstition dictates that they turn to stone in the light of day, but no man has been able to confirm this.

Keilers are incredibly small creatures, coming up to the average man's knee. These curious creatures have an insatiable love for anything of the shiney variety and any food that is sweet and juicy. While difficult to train, Keilers have been known to be used by ne'erdowells to steal trinkets and pocket change. These creatures are incredibly agile and are a common prey by forest predators.

Skarg (Scar-guh) | Iadel
These reptiles are believed to have descending from massive birds of ages past. A skarg's wings are incapable of flight, though they're fully capable of allowing the creature to glide. This proves especially difficult to deal with, when the creature is in pursuit of you and kicks off the ground to glide along and conserve energy. Skargs are typically around twenty centimeters shorter than your average sized human, and their vision is primarily based on movement, though much of their sensory ability stems from their noses. If being pursued by a Skarg, the best way to deal with the situation is to either stand and fight, or attempt to hide in your environment and mask your scent. It is believed that a skarg was the cause of Jorrick the Bold's death.

Perrib (Pear-ib) | All of Tyre
Few animals are better hunting animals than the perrib. Slightly larger than the typical wolf, these lean creatures move with incredibly speed and have a lot of strength backing up their movements. The unusually strong sense of smell perribs have has made them a hot commodity for hunters, and these creatures are popular among farmers for their ability to simply run over smaller predators such as foxes and grab them with the small pair of arms directly below their rib cage.

Skala (Scal-la) | The Ocean
A real nuiscance for sailors, the Skala are man-sized fish that leap from the water and attempt to bite at sailors and birds while using their wings to glide. They're incredibly frail, though, and typically only a single archer is issued to a ship. However, spawning season for the Skala makes the deep ocean generally untravable for several weeks.

Taernilh (Tar-nil) | Unknown
One of the two dragons believed to roam the world. Taernilh is rumored to be a female dragon with size accounts varying from the length of ten meters to that of Ashem's largest warship. She is believed to live deep within the Great Divide, though sightings of her go from Ashem, to Iadel, to sailors of the deep sea.

Xeran (Zer-ran) | Unknown
The second dragon believed to exist. Xeran is said to be much larger than Taernilh, large enough to require an entire mountain range for shelter. The first sighting of Xeran stemmed from the second great war between Ashem and Iadel, where a force of twelvethousand men, both Iadelian and Ashemian, disappeared over night. A group of survivors from the slaughter claim that the beast descended from the clouds in the dead of night directly onto the battlefield, and proceeded to spit flame at the warring men who turned to fight the beast. Those that weren't burnt to cinders were rended by its claws or swallowed by its mammoth jaw. Rumors of Xeran speculate that he can take the form of a human, he can become invisible, that he is from another world, and that he was forged from the core of the world. None of these rumors have been confirmed to be true.

Qali'Min (Kali-Minh) | Serrell
Qali'Min's existance is as speculative as Xeran's, exceedingly so, seeing as he is said to be the product of Xeran and a Ashmel woman. It is told that Qali'Min was left to the island of Serrell to live as a guardian of the island. Nothing more of Qali'Min is known.

Tieur (Tea-yur) | Serrell
The only known Tieur in existance resides on the island of Serrell, and is said to guard the Medallion of Prayers. It is believed that he is the combination of Cael the Humble's and Jorrick the Bold's souls. The only sighting of this creature comes from a man turned mad from his encounter, who claims that the creature moved with impossible speed and slaughtered an Ashemian expedition team twelve men strong, without being so much as grazed by a single weapon.

Dagg (Dah-guh) | The Ocean
One of the few singular creatures that is known to exist, old Dagg has proved to be a problem for ages among sailors. During the Third War, Dagg swallowed whole nearly half of the combinded naval fleets of Iadel and Ashem. He effectively brought an end to naval warfare for fear of feeding him several hundred more men. Dagg has been mistaken for a small island many times, and the sailors that have made the mistake of sailing towards him have time and time again paid for the misake with their lives.

I will be submitting a CS within the next 24 hours but as a disclaimer to the co-GMs, should there be an amount of characters accepted prior to starting that I don't feel comfortable with, I will drop out (assuming I am accepted). I say this now in case you don't want me to even apply since there is a possibility I won't hop on board in the end of all the chaos dealing with character submissions. I just figure it's a polite thing for me to say to you now rather than just pull out at the last minute without a valid reason. I know what sizes work for me and regardless of your vision, you'll know what works for you and I trust the judgement given. If neither of you approach me about not applying, I will still submit something ASAP. - Genkai (should I not be in the RP, I'll likely just delete this and any other posts I make because I'm OCD like that when I look into the OOC Threads!)

Wednesday night sounds reasonable, however I like to take my time with my character sheets so I'll probably be cutting it close. You'll have it in however on the night, I'll just probably be the last to send you one because I usually tend to get a little obsessive and meticulous >.<

Actually, a quick edit to this post! Started working on the CS and I've got a lot done already, and I haven't felt the urge to retype or correct anything, which I'm proud of. S'good! S'all good! Yeah, I'll have this ready by tomorrow afternoon/evening probably. I'm looking forward to beginning our adventure! ^^
