We Refuse The Republic - Sith Trooper RP OOC

War between the Sith Empire and Republic has waged since these two forces encountered one another. In their first war the Republic smashed the Sith and reduced them to scattered remnants, and yet whenever they return once more under a powerful leader they bring an army with them. An army of avid followers, often fanatical in their devotion to a cause they usually cannot understand. The Republic sees it's own citizens take up arms against them siding with what they view as the greatest evil their Jedi Councillors telling them of the horrid atrocities the Sith commit just by existing. The Republic see this threat backed by their own people always and utterly blind to it's own corruption, it's own oppression, the forces it allows to rove unchecked making a mockery of the rights they claim to allow their people. The Hutts enslave, kill, and ravage worlds as they please moving with ease about the Republic legal system turning the countless sentient beings on their worlds into ready soldiers for the Sith. The Jedi take children from their parents and kill any who disagree with their religious beliefs refusing things as basic as human emotion and then pronounce the Sith the greatest evil blind to the decadence about them behind their high walls in their temples were they want for nothing.

It is from here that the Sith always have their army at the ready, men and women tired of the yoke of oppression the republic demands they meekly accept while the Sith come forth. They may ask you to die for them but at least they allow you to live for yourself.


Once more though the Sith have come for the Republic, pushing deep into the mid rim but even now Korriban is under assault, bombarded from orbit, and every man and woman fighting for them faces death the hands of the Republic. The entirety of the Sith army and fleet were assembled on Korriban. The Republic thinking the Sith planning to make a last stand descended upon them only to be bogged down once they landed on the planet, ambushes, suicide attacks, and minefields covering miles waited for them. Fighting a delaying action the Sith managed to evacuate a great deal of their forces from Korriban before fleeing the system, losses for the Sith were surprisingly low with almost every ship escaping and the majority of troops lost volunteers in suicide squads with orders to delay at all costs.

Unfortunately for one destroyer though damage to it's hyperdrive meant it could not make the jump with the rest of the fleet and alongside a pair of corvette escorts became stranded deep behind enemy lines now. With doom on all sides they managed to make it to a covert Sith outpost. Now unknown to the Republic but cutoff from the main Sith forces the men and women of this outpost and destroyer must now find a way to survive and perhaps one day aid in the death of the Republic.

So this RP is an Old Republic Sith trooper RP as you can tell, I am not one for major restriction or lists of rules just be competent and the one real rule out of the usual for this is that I am going to be discouraging trained force users. If you can blow me away with a character sheet that makes me strongly believe you are going to stick with what I am aiming for with this RP and are not too powerful we might discuss it. I am not perfect so if anyone notices any mistakes or has suggestions know I am always accepting of such things.

The first IC posts will follow our characters escape from Korriban so background will just need to be up to that point.

For equipment since as the war turned against the Sith standardization went out the window you can have just about anything you can reasonably explain your character having in your sheet.

If this is set in the old republic, that pretty much rules out any weapons and armor that were introduced in and between the movies correct?

This is indeed Old Republic so weapons from the movies and after are out but predecessors for those weapons are possible.

Background: My name was Zangetsu, and they told me I could learn the ways of the force, but later cast me aside for my brother who was apparently far stronger than me. My training never even started. So instead of learning to be a Sith Lord, I was trained to kill and nothing more. My training focused on killing Jedi mostly but I've killed countless footsoldiers in my day. After a horrific injury I suffered in a fight with a particularly strong Jedi by the name of Satele Shan, I was reassigned to some destroyer as part of a boarding party, should the need for one ever come up. I never got along with anyone and even killed two soldiers who pissed me off one day. Granted they were drunk, but that doesn't mean shit to me. My untapped power has helped me climb the ranks in the military to a higher level sargeant in command of a small platoon. It's also helped me survive countless fights, giving me a quick "heads up" of sorts that has allowed me to dodge blaster shots, grenades and lightsabers alike. Personally, I think I'm the best damn soldier you'll ever meet. Just don't get on my bad side or things will get ugly. At the start of the war, I was on the front lines, cutting down vitrually everything in sight. I was there when we took Alderaan. I was there when we sacked the Jedi Temple on Coruscant. These were glorious battles indeed, fighting side by side with the other soldiers. I always felt like my place had been with the great Sith masters though. Not on the front lines. As much as I loved the glories and spoils of war, I have always craved that power. So when the time came where I fought in a battle along side my brother, a full fledged and completely trained Sith, I stabbed him in the back and whispered my finaly words to him as I watched his blood drip down off of the blade protruding from his chest. With my revenge complete, I ran back into the fray of battle. It wasn't long afterward that I was court martialed as a traitor. Luckily for me, I got the court room without any real security. I escaped with a trail of bodies in my wake. After that, I made a new name for myself, Getsuga, changed my appearance and signed back up for the advanced infantry. It was right back to fighting Jedi and republic soldiers for me. It wasn't too long afterwards that I was met by that Jedi. I was deemed a cripple, and after threatening to take drastic action if I wasn't allowed to return to combat, I was placed on some ruddy destroyer. They told me I would still get to fight, but not as often. A few months of dead silence later, we were stationed over Korriban and were attacked by a Republic strike force. We barely made it into hyperspace without being blown to hell.

Name: Janus Nalon
Species: Human
Equipment: Concealed Heavy Blaster Pistol, Phrik Electrostaff, Force Pike, Large Prototype Knuckle Plate Cortosis Vibro blade (one for each hand), Mandalorian Iron Imperial Guard Armour and Thermal Detonators.
Background: Abandoned on Tatooine when he was young, he was captured by Toydarians slavers and was trained forced to fight in illegal underground rings, it was fortunate that a minor Sith Lord happened to witness him fight and bought him off the slavers. He sent him to Dromund Kaas and there he trained in the Imperial Military and eventually began to serve. He took part in many battles demonstrating his process eventually becoming an Officer and later on a Captain under Grand Moff Ilyan Regus. Eventually his service gave him the supreme honour of joining the ranks of the Dark Honour Guard, a sub-sect of the Imperial Guard. He was brought in front of the Emporer and mentally bonded to him to ensure his everlasting loyalty and making him incapable of betrayal so long as he lived. That night the true Janus Nalon died and what was left of him was undistinguishable from the Imperial Loyalist that was born. He received further training, was given his expensive equipment and he protected the Dark Council Chamber in the Sith Academy on Korriban It would eventually come to pass that during the war Korriban, once the Dark Council had safely evacuated, he boarded a Destroyer in order to escape the carnage.
