One Piece: The second Pirate Era(Private)

Rogue town; one of the most infamous places in all the known world. The execution town of the first pirate king, Gol D.Roger, and the almost-execution of what would be the second king. As such, the city-government latched onto it's pirate-tainted history like a lamprey eel, setting up as many tourist traps as the tiny island could sustain. One couldn't take five steps without running into "the stand where the straw hats bought their apples"

Unfortunately, such fame came with it's list of problems. As a place with such prestige amongst the seas, it became the official starting point for several would-be sailors, itching to put their names up there with the big guns. It usually ended in implosion, and the bar was starting to become the normal spot where crews would begin, and end in mutiny a few minutes later. It was a lively existence, and the locals had become numbly used to it.

As far as Nysa was concerned, it was perfect.

The black-haired lady glanced up at the nearby bar with a big fat grin. To think, here would be where her own story would begin; where it all started. The very prospect of it made the hairs on her neck stand on end.

"Wonder who'll be in here..." she mused aloud, turning to her shadow. "Well, noting ventured, noting gained right?"

That said, she readjusted the brown coat over her shoulders, and sauntered on in, black boots kicking up new dirt.

This was easily one of the craziest, rowdiest establishments that Rev had ever walked in. A mix of Wanna-be pirates, truly dangerous individuals and legitimate sea fairing scoundrels, and tourists of all things! If you had told him a place like this existed back on his home island he'd would have say you may as well try to mix oil, water, and fire into one. But here it was, and what a noisy, violent place it was indeed. The blond young man had gotten into three fights just making to the bar, Luckily he didn't get any blood on his clothing, he had just had his clothing washed. Dressed more like a brawler than a pirate, he stuck out a bit in the crowed in his white tank top and black jacket, worn open. A red lines along the sleeve, the same color as the red cloth belt he had tied about his waist. His pants were black and loose like a martial artists pants with two red lines running down the sides, in a similar style to his jacket.

"Bartender, get me an apple juice." he said as soon as he had the man's attention. The bar tender gave him an odd look, which caused Rev to glare at the man "Did I stutter?" While the bartender did not seem particularly threatened by Rev's glare, seeing as he worked here Rev wagered it would take a much more forceful display for a unknown like himself to menace him, he shrugged and got Rev his drink.

Honestly, Rev hated bars. He didn't mind the rowdy atmosphere so much, hell those could be fun, but due to his condition he couldn't drink anything with alcohol in it, and he always felt like the odd man out because of it.

But he wasn't here for a drink, he was here to look for a Captain or a Crew. Rev wasn't crazy about being a captain himself, but he refused to work for someone who he didn't think was worth working for. If he didn't find a captain worth following he'd go ahead and raise his own crew. And honestly he found most of the riffraff unsuited to his tastes. He was halfway though his apple juice when Nysa walked in, and he had to admit she had a better presence than most of the people in this bar. He wondered what she was here for, she certainly didn't look like a local or a tourist.

"Ah!" Nysa took in a huge breath, taking in the rustic scenery with grey-blue eyes. The place seemed to be the cesspool of the rabble outside, as would-be sailors crowded the room, this would-be sailor felt as if she were amongst her own people. She sauntered up to the bar, flashes of black clothing hidden under a sleeveless brown coat, and sat herself down on one of the many chairs.

"Yo-ho, bartender!" she tapped the table, flashing a rather excited smile. "Straight Rum, but make it your cheapest. I ain't made of money..."

One of the drunks nearby couldn't resist. He leaned over, breath rank with their booze. "Hey, aren't you supposed to order something cute, like Milk? Pretty glass for the pretty girl."

"Nah," Nysa wrinkled her nose. "Never touched the stuff."

The bartender smirked, pouring her a glass. "So, what brings the little lady out all the way here? By herself no less."

"What? So I can't travel alone because I'm a girl?" Nysa questioned, quirking a brow.

"Wha?" The bartender blinked, "Honey, I've seen bigger gals than you barrel through here, your intimidation tactics are piss poor."

"Hmph. Darn." Nysa said, tapping the table. "I'm looking for a crew, if that makes sense. Got the ship and supplies; just no one to man the damn thing."

Rev, like many other of the men in the bar, watched the forward new comer girl with interest. Though he was looking at her differently than in the leers of the slack jawed drunks or leches . His instincts were telling him she was an interesting one. When she claimed she was looking for a crew he decided he couldn't help but investigate this further. He picked up his glass of apple juice and went over to here table.

"A new captain looking for a crew huh?" He asked as took the seat opposite to her. "I just so happen to be looking for a captain. Assuming he or she be the right kind of captain for me." He paused to sip from his drink.

"I won't be working for just anyone who happens to own a ship though. I would like hear what your goals are and if or why you think you are a captain...worthy, of my services. " He smiled wily, flashing his teeth in his grin " Keep in mind; If you say you are worthy and can't back it up, I may have to relieve you of your ship and supplies."

"Kill me over my ship?" Nysa repeated, turning an eye. She started giggling, crossing her legs under the table. "I think I like you already, mister. I need a go-getter for my crew. Got no use for light-weights."

As for his question, that one was an easy one. She finished the straight rum, demanding they simply leave the bottle, and poured herself another glass. She took another sip, letting the question sit in her mind for awhile, before she lowered the glass. "My goal is freedom, Mr.Violent-blond-man. Freedom from all the rules, expectations and utter nonsense my existent brought to the world. There's a big ocean, and I'm gonna see every speck of it before I die famous and wanted for the biggest sum of Beli anyone's ever seen, bigger than Monkey D. Luffy!"

That brought a ripple. The tourist cooed, naturally hoping this was connected to the rest of the tourist trap. Unable to take it, the bigger of the drunken slobs nearby put a hand over her glass, stopping her from the third drink.

"Listen, little lady," he said. "The only females I know to get that infamous were on that boy's crew ship. What makes you think a squat-poppet like you can get anywhere near that?"

Nysa blinked, staring at him with knit brows. She arched, and once again started talking to the shadow under her. "Seriously, do people breed their kids to be this stupid?"

"Oye!" he slammed the table. "Watch it, you crazy bitch. I'll run you right through if you keep this up."

"I wouldn't kill you on purpose , I would be just trying to beat you up and take your things, but sometimes I just don't know my own strength and I over do things." He replied with a shrug as she finished her rum and considered his questions.

He noted her giggling and her crossing her legs, was something going on he wasn't privy to? He thought he had decent enough sense to know if something was going on. His thoughts were dragged, dramatically away from whatever was going on under the table, and back to the woman, who made an impressively bold statement. The content and delivery of her speech honestly cause a slight feeling inside his spirit, that felt rather like inspiration. For whatever reason deep down on an instinctual level he recognized that she truly believed what she said, which out a single bit of doubt or reservation in her. That, is a very impressive and rare thing. But even the crazy unwaveringly believe the untrue, she'd have to prove herself before he won his faith.

Rev shifted his gaze over to the large drunken thug who was sitting nearby as he interrupted the woman's drink and chided her boldness. He was curious to see how she would react, and she appeared to be undisturbed by the man.

And again she interacted with something under the table, this further peaked his curiosity, what was she hiding? He really wanted to know.

The man's fist slammed into the table and caused his glass of apple juice to spill. "Well, now you've done it." he grumbled in the drunk's general direction as he lifted himself up from his seat "That drink coasted me 5 beri, so that will cost you five ribs."

Just as soon as Rev standing up, with a lighting quick movement he struck out at the man, his body a blur to anyone who was not used to watching combat. To the tourist it would look like he instantly went from standing into a hoarse stance with his open palm slammed against the man's side, followed by a very definite and sickening crack of bones. "6, plus tax you know."

The drunken thug collapsed in pain, seeming to have passed out from the shock of the pain and the blow. The two other drunken men that were clearly with now floored interrupter were on their feet, weapons drawn. Rev turned his gaze back to the woman "Well, Miss Potential-Big Bounty-Captain, I just showed you my qualifications as a crew mate, how about you show me yours as a captain?"

Nysa's eyes widened, watching the display of strength with renewed interest. She stood up from her stool, placing money for her drink down on the counter. The barkeep took it, and ducked as the drunken man's buddies began to crowd around them. One of them sneaked up behind her, making a grabbing motion for her neck.

He didn't see it coming. Just as they were coming behind her, of all things, the girl's shadow literally lifted itself up off the ground. While still attached to it's owner, it grabbed the man by the throat instead, locking it in it's elbow.

"Forgot to warn you," she said, turning around. "I accidentally ate the Kage-Kage no mi when I was younger. Thus, my Shadow has been rather protective of me.."

The brown coat slid off her form. "Not that I need her to be."

Under that coat, the girl apparently was hiding a set of pistols; and a belt of ammo. The Shadow dropped the crew-mate, and Nysa drew both pistols. But, despite being loaded, she didn't fire a shot. As two men rushed her, both were instead used for their hard barrels, and even harder handles, and made fairly decent bludgening tools.

"My name's Nysa," she said, "Nysa Trix. And yes, that's also the name of the rich man who reported his ship stolen a day ago-" another man smacked up-side the head. "But we can always meet my father on another day."

Rev had expected allot of thing from the woman as the group of attackers approached, her shadow getting up and chocking the first thug out was the very last on the list. "Devil fruit user, I should have guessed. So your a Shadow woman huh?" He wondered to himself if that was a paramecia or a Logai type fruit.

Rev was surprised when she pulled out the pistols, she didn't seem like the type that would kill someone over a bar room brawl, though instead of firing she used them as clubs to bludgeon the death, and that seemed to suite her and this situation much better. She was fighting rather well at that, he wondered she had any formal combat training or was one of those gifted brawler types of people.

He was shocked yet again when she dropped the fact she was the daughter of a wealthy man, while Rev was not to privy to social stuff like that, he knew had heard that a very wealthy person had reported a stolen ship, part of the reason it was news was due to the man's great amount of wealth. "Huh, honestly, you are the last kind of person I'd expect to be aiming for pirate-hood. But who am I to judge."

the brawling had attracted some more aggressive drunkards who seemed anxious in join the fray, so soon he was fighting along side her. "My name is Rev Frost, I'm a martial artist and I'm out to find greater challenges and ultimate fame. I want to face any and every challenge the world can throw at me and overcome it with my strength. It's a pleasure to meet you Nysa, how about we get out of here and to your ship before someone realizes who you are and calls your father or the local marines? "

"Noted," Nysa gave one last fighter a crack to the head with her gun barrel, and her shadow grabbed her coat off the floor. The black-haired captain took Rev by the shoulder, gently, and gave him a tug towards the door. It was time to go.

With a shove, the two barreled out of the bar. They both rolled straight into town, raising alarms for both tourists and marines alike. Both groups turned on their heads as the patrons made their unceremonious exits; some with cameras. Flashing a smile for one tourist, Nysa pulled herself back to her feet, and wiped off her pants.

"I don't shoot, and they still act like I killed someone," she frowned. "I just can't win."

A nearby lieutenant, dealing with a small domestic dispute over a merchant, heard the commotion. He turned his head at the two emerging figures, looking like the type to start the occasional brawl in the bar. But, with a squint of his eyes, he recognized the girl.

"That's the one from this morning's briefing..." he muttered. "Hey you!"

Nysa stiffened, glanced over her shoulder, and made a run for it.

    "This way!"

Rev had to say his mood was much improved. Though he was still iffy on this Captain Trix, say about 10 percent reserved on her "worth" as a captain until he saw her handle something more challenging than a group of drunks, the devil fruit was a good start in being a strong leader for Rev to follow. Plus, he had managed to enjoy a quick brawl, which he felt he hadn't gotten to do since he started looking for a worthy captain about month ago. Yes it took that long to find a captain, Rev's a picky guy. The captain had to be both strong and have a certain...inspirational quality, someone that would help push Rev's spirit to the max and likely head in the way of adventure and challenge. So far Nysa seemed to meet those qualities.

"I don't think me starting off breaking the big guy's ribs won us any points with that crowed either. Though the Tourist seem to like us, so that's a plus I guess."

Before they knew it they were being pursued by the Marines, well...a Marine, but he was sure that there would be more on their tail in a moment, rich people tended to get touchy when their child steals a boat and goes off to become a pirate.

He ran after Nysa "So how big is this ship, will just the two of us be able to sail it?"
