Across the dark reaches of space the Imperium fights many threats in every possible location, in the far future, there is only war. the Inquisition has emplaced a new ploy, the Legio Venerus, an organisation within the Ordo Xenos, Malleus and Hereticus collectively, to collect the Astartes and Imperial Forces finest, for each Legio Venerus there will be five members.

Appearance: Cyrus wears a cape with the heraldry of the Valken, a loyalist detachment of the Destructors, his Artificer Armour is a pristine bronze, and his weapons are always broadly shown amongst Mechanicus symbols.
Special Equipment: He is known to use Rad Grenades and a personal cloaking device usually found on Vindicare Temple Agents.

Bio: Cyrus Krad began his service to the God-Emperor when his planet was attacked by the Iron Warriors, from a young age he fought in resistance, when he was eventually evacuated to a nearby Forge World he was taken under Techmarine Garrus, an adept who taught him everything about the Machine Spirit, it was not long after he became renowned as a covert operative taking down chaotic machine cults, and now he serves the Sicarius.

Favored Weapon: Heavy flamer/Thunder hammer combination.
Favored Class: Terminator.
Appearance: Gallus’ superhuman stature and strength is even more impressive than that of most other Astartes. Standing almost a full head taller than most and a good piece wider, he is truly a giant. He has blue eyes and hair as close to white as you can get, he keeps it short so that it won’t get tangled in his helmet. His features are strong, clear and smooth, no damage has befallen his face as of yet, and he’s not going to let it.
Favored Armor Class: Heavy as shit.
Bio: As one of the Black Templars Gallus has travelled across most of the known space in pursuit of heretics and traitors. From the start he was issued the Terminator armor and is now so used to it that the normal power armor feels like being naked.

Also I am wondering how you intend to balance out the IG characters with the Astartes. Having a the ability to call several space marines kind of eliminates the need for some line guardsman no matter how skilled. The astartes are bound to be better trained for really any combat or technical situation.

Still room and IG have easier time manuevering in tight areas, have access to vehicles easier, they will also have focal points such as vantage areas too small for a Astartes to use, and Space Marines can't use Sniper Rifles or Hotshot guns, for the guard just imagine either a high ranking commissar or Stormtroopers as examples, I will probably think of other bonuses they can have to keep them on par, just for info though these marines are not Movie Marines.

IG must have an easier time doing covert ops. I can't really picture a space marine sneaking.

Actually they do it very very well. Unike Imeprial guard space marines have been known to sneak up on and ambush Eldar or dark eldar.
Also Astartes can use anyhting the IG can. Shoulder mounted lascannons are not uncommon for space marines to use in devastator squads. And Im sure their techmarine can rig it for hotshot if he wanted to. Also space amriens use sniper rifles all the time. Its a scout squad staple and there is a variant of the standard bolter known as a Stalker pattern. SIngleshot, High resolution and zoom scope, Very accurate and very long range. Astartes were designed to do everything the IG can, only better.

Well, in this RP case, I think the IG will be based around tight area fighting, and to be totally honest, its not always a good idea to RP what is 'supposed' to do things the best, especially with the challenges I am thinking of throwing around, not that the Astartes will get badass options too, i would like to see a space marine attempt to get comfortable in a sentinel.
