Infinite Crisis: A Bold New World

    Gamemastered by nightrunner

    Events of Days Past

Our Multiverse is in a crisis. A man from Earth-3, named Alexander Luthor, an earth with high morale, has recently seen his home be destroyed. So he has escaped his dying universe and took refuge inside a near impenetrable pod, taking with him his Earth-2's Superman, and the Superboy of Earth-Prime (That's us). He traveled to Earth-0 with the hopes of being able to somehow restore his Earth. But Luthor and Superboy Prime kidnapped some of Earth-0's inhabitants who originated on other Earths, in order to open a hole in the multiverse in which he could mesh multiple Earths together to form his own vision for a perfect Earth.
Earth 0's heroes have banded together in order to fight back against Luthor.
However Luthor is not the only problem facing Earth-0. They also must deal with Spectre, who is attempting to destroy all magic. They are facing an OMAC invasion, an attempt by Batman's Brother Eye to terminate all super-beings and masked vigilantes in the world. There is a war raging in deep space between Rann and Thanagar. And as if that wasn't enough for one earth, an Secret Society of Supervillains is amassing while a flood of heroes is disappearing. All of these problems amount to a seemingly Infinite Crisis.
However, they aren't the only ones with problems. All universes have a unique opportunity to cross paths and meet one another. From the Gaslight world which is dealing with a continuing victorian steampunk era, plagued by a thieving Catwoman and a Jack The Ripper-esque Joker. To the peaceful Earth-51, in which Batman has long since annihilated all crime to avenge Jason Todd's death, leaving no more violent influences. Even the Antimatter Universe, in which an almost exact replica of Earth-3 exists. All of these places finally get to meet. But it's tearing them apart.
Alexander Luthor is meshing worlds together and creating new worlds from thousands, each having different circumstances and political statuses. Sometimes new, unlabeled worlds can gain aspects of the parts they are made from. The only Earth being unaffected is Earth-0, the one Luthor is operating from. This Earth has become a safe haven for refugees of other worlds. But they are only safe from Universal Destruction, not Earth-0's problems. And in some cases they have brought their problems with them.

    The Ten Commandments

1.Thou shalt not swear unreasonably. If you use foul language, or mention sexual content strongly or pointlessly. Thou must have purpose. Thou shalt be removed.

2.Do not simply world hop. By this I mean that I would like you to avoid visiting a new world every post. If you do visit a world, it must be listed in the Earth Index, or be approved by a GM.

3.Do not God Mod. A simple phrase meaning, do not use unreasonable power unreasonably. If you do, the GMs shall decide whether to remove you and then we will have to come up with a logical reason for your actions.

4.Unless you are Booster Gold or a Legionnaire, DO NOT Time Travel. The game is complex enough as is. You are free to retcon via flashback, saying someone remember an event inaccurately, but do not simply overwrite an event or ignore previous continuity.

5.Do not argue with the GMs, a conversation or a question about a decision may be asked, but when they give the final word. "Tis' Done." A character or world must recieve their approval in order to be used.

6.This game's basis is derived from a story by DC Comics, so no Marvel, Image, IDW, Dynamite, Dark Horse, or any characters not property of DC are allowed involvement. The only exception to this rule is the Amalgam characters, which are part DC and part Marvel. The worlds may share themes similiar to those found in other companies. The themes for styling characters may take inspiration from others. But everything must be DC first and foremost. All applications that fail to meet this criteria shall be denied.

7.If a player doesn't want to play, do not force them to be in a story you write. Or we will force your character to be in a story in which he is being interrogated by Black Adam. (Kidding. Well. About the Black Adam part)

8.The means to travel between worlds is created due to all of the worlds, essentially forming a net around the sun. So for a character to be on a planet, they must have means to get to said Earth. Whether it's birth or flight.

9.Not everyone can be Batman or Superman. I don't expect you all to apply for all the alternate versions of these two. I just need you to understand that. Multiple takes on one character are permitted but for now I shall set the limit for players using alternate versions of the same character at two. Otherwise I would've called the game The Batman Corps, or The Superman Corps. I am permitting two characters maximum per player, and you guessed it, one character minimum.

    10. Each player must post for each character at least once every two weeks. If a player fails to meet this requirement without giving notice, they shall have their character removed from the roster and deemed unplayable. However, if you reapply and state why you were not posting, you may recieve reapproval.

    Super Woman
    (Kara Zol-El)

    Alignment: Vigilante (Good)
    Home Planet: Argos (Earth-Zero Reality)
    Current Planet: Earth (Earth-Zero Reality)
    Age: 24

Psychological Profile: Determined, courageous, and intelligent describe Kara accurately to most who encounter her, be it other heroes, villains, or the common populace. Unlike various others in the universe with super strength, she becomes far more dangerous due to her ability to pair alternate ways of attack than just running up and punching someone in the face, which makes her rather successful as a hero in general. This hardly goes to her head though and views her place in the world as a guardian and watcher, defending light against darkness even when it seems utterly hopeless.

Truly, she has a heart of a hero, but her social interactions suffer quite a bit due to pessimism. Her life has been rot with rejection and disappointment, enough for her to almost believe that she'll never find a family or love. Besides the fact that she is one of the more powerful heroes in the universe and has many enemies, she also tends to have a thing for other women which makes it inherently more difficult to find love. Despite her social views of people and the world, she is very caring and giving, and even willing to defend a nemesis in the name of mercy.

    Other minor notes;
    • Sense of humor: Smart-ass
    • Loves to fly
    • Extremely affectionate with romantic partners
    • Very loyal

Why this Character: I've been a pretty big fan of Superman and his ilk and I enjoy role-playing females, so it was natural for me to pick Kara among the myriad of characters available.

    Powers & Physical attributes
Flight: Can travel a maximum of the speed of light.
Super Strength: At maximum, able to lift 100 tons.
Invulnerability: Excluding magic and Kryptonite, she can survive anything up to a 25 Kiloton blast with minimal injury. Maximum being 1 Megaton with fatal injuries.
Vision: X-ray vision, heat vision, and microscopic vision.
Hearing: Can hear normal audio waves from up to 5 miles away, and twice a many wavelengths up to 100 feet away.
Mental Concentration: Possesses the mental ability to screen out the enormous amount of information received by her enhanced senses, and to focus on a single detail, such as a particular voice or location.
Stamina: Can endurance fights up to days at a time, but only up to a single hour at maximum strength before becoming exhausted. Similarly can survive just as long without food or rest, depending on the amount of strength used.

    Limitations
    • Generally speaking, to last up to three days without rest, Kara can:
-- Flight at 1/2 the speed of light (generally being faster than Superman)
-- Super Strength at 40 tons (generally weaker than Superman)
-- Survive two 25 Kiloton explosions (Generally equal to Superman)
    • Pushing her limits otherwise shortens the length until she reaches maximums in all areas, which allow her to last one hour without fatal exhaustion.

    Weaknesses
Kryptonite: Supergirl's most famous weakness, kryptonite originated as radioactive fragments of the planet Krypton, created by fusion during the explosion that destroyed it. Supergirl's cells store electromagnetic radiation from the rays of a yellow sun, and converts it into energy, manifesting as her super-powers. When Supergirl is exposed to the most common variety, green kryptonite (within roughly ten feet or less of any size or amount), its high-band radiation rapidly interferes with this process, causing severe physical pain and the loss of her powers. Long enough exposure to green kryptonite may eventually lead to death. Kryptonite radiation can be blocked by the use of lead.

Red Sun Radiation: Natural in Krypton's planetary system, red solar radiation replaces the higher-yield yellow solar energy in Supergirl's cells, robbing her of the fuel for her powers. This process does not have the painful, crippling and fever-like symptoms of Kryptonite, and essentially leaves her with the normal health and abilities of a human in her size and shape, as it did for the entire population of Krypton during its existence. Exposure to yellow solar radiation causes her powers to return. Other than red solar radiation, using up his stored yellow solar energy (without continued exposure to yellow solar radiation) also causes Supergirl to lose her powers.

Magic: While not so much an actual weakness, Supergirl's invulnerability offers no protection against magic. The explanation for this is simple; Supergirl's powers, extraordinary as they are, are the result of natural phenomenon, not supernatural. As a result, spells cast on Supergirl affect her the same as they would anyone else. This sometimes goes so far as enchanted weapons being able to subvert her invulnerability as well. Generally, she suffers the vulnerability provided she is directly attacked with magic.

    History
The story is familiar to us - Krypton was destroyed, sending the last son of the dead planet hurling towards Earth only to be raised by two humble farmhands and eventually moving to the city known as Metropolis. We all know that story, but Kara's isn't the one we're used to. The chain reaction from Krypton sent Argos out of orbit and slowly the planet started to freeze over and create an ice age and as time grew shorter and shorter, some of the leading scientists - like Kal-El's own parents - sent the last of their own race speeding through the stars. She didn't land in a country side though, like he had, instead her vessel came crashing through an alleyway in Metropolis and by the time any authorities had arrived, it was empty.

The facts are shady at best as to how the young babe crawled out from the ship and ended up on the streets, but it wasn't long before Mr. and Mrs. Winters jumped in surprise by the girl crawling through the trash without a clue. With no knowledge of her alien origin, they took her into their home, a pleasant house within a pleasant neighborhood. Her childhood was fairly normal, taught strong morals by her parents, but often neglected on the whole due to their busy work schedules (one being a lawyer and the other a doctor). She mostly avoided trouble in her younger years, keeping her growing powers a secret from even herself.

However when she started to enter her teen years, she braved standing up to the other kids and for other kids, quickly realizing that she was stronger than she should be, faster than she should be... it scared her at first, but being a nerd and spending her hobbies among comics and games it was easy for her to accept that she may be super-powered. She'd sneak out at night into the fields outside the city and discover what sort of powers she had until her adult life. While her year off from school to think of what she wanted to do, came the news of Superman and his exploits and suddenly.. there was someone else that could do what she could do - and more! It was with watching him on the news, using powers she never considered like heat vision that urged her to try and in no time, her mind and body synced easily to realize her full potential.

Before entering the world as Super Woman, she had a costume designed after Superman's own, sneaking into Wayne Enterprises to acquire some of the material (perhaps leaving a few marks of bashed in doors) that could withstand almost equal punishment. With a final bout of confidence in her new life, she left a single note on the kitchen table, explaining that she wasn't normal and that she loved her parents. She needed to strike on her own though and if they ever wondered what their little girl was up to, just to look for the Superman symbol on a woman..

Since then, she has battled more than her share of villains and has acquainted herself with multiple members of the Justice League including Superman himself, but has never gotten especially close to any of them and even Batman knows little of her inner world (though he has no doubt found out about most of her past).

    Sample Post
Sometimes she just needed to get away from it all for just a few moments. There was so much going on, so many troubles and chaos that sometimes problems seemed to mesh into one another, leaving little time to pause and relax. No, the time to be able to step back and take a week for yourself was all but gone now as multiple problems sprung up daily. Even the Justice League was having issues dealing with everything and all because of one self man, someone who was throwing a fit because things didn't go according to plan, and now he was throwing his problems at everyone else. That thought alone made her blood boil.

Shaking her head lightly, she sighed, hardly audible over the fierce wind at such a height. Kara had flown far above the earth, the landmasses seeming almost like giant paintings on a building from where she floated and close enough to see a few sites that had been damaged by this on-going war between order and chaos. If they didn't figure something out soon... Earth-Zero was going to be destroyed too and as far as she knew, it was the only stable one. What would Lex do then? He would be all out of chips...

Here's the thing. I'm not going to hold a character for everyone. If you write a worthy cs, you get the spot. I will allow you to have time to post a Batman or Flash sheet to compete with someone else if they beat you to it, think less of it like you'll get it because you said you wanted it and acted first, think more like an audition for a play. I only said I'd hold a spot for Lydyn. But you can feel free to reserve that post for a Flash or Batman app. Oh, one more thing about reservations. There can be more than one Batman or Flash. So please specify which incarnation you're holding. I look forward to your applications.

I wanted to post Flash as I have a cs but I'll give the other guy time. I hope you don't mind but this is taken from another RP I was in.
    Calling Atrocitus
    Name: Atrocitus.
    Alignment: Evil
Home Planet: Sector 666 Earth 0
    Current Planet: Ysmault
    Psychological Profile:
    Likes:
Committing acts of vengeance against those who have wronged him.
    Dislikes:
    People who aren't honorable. Deception.
    Fears:
    None
    Bad Habits:
Destructive tendencies. Shoots first asks questions later. Doesn't value human life.
    General Personality:
Atrocitus cares only for a select few, his former family and his cat Dex-Starr he has rage unsurpassed by any being other than the butcher himself and will readily kill those who oppose him. He believes in justice through vengeance such as wanting to kill Krona to avenge his sector.
Why this Character: He's a rather new character and I always thought it would have been interesting had he appeared earlier in the DCU
History: Long ago, when the rogue Manhunters rampaged through Green Lantern Sector 666, Atrocitus was one of only five beings in the entire sector to escape death. He and the other four survivors formed a terrorist cabal known as the Five Inversions, bent on the destruction of the Guardians of the Universe and all who served them, with Atrocitus serving as their leader. The Five Inversions performed a ritual that allowed them to peer into the future and discover the prophecy of the Blackest Night, which decreed that all life in the universe would end. They ruled a massive domain known as the Empire of Tears, until the Guardians of the Universe defeated the Five Inversions and imprisoned them on their capital, Ysmault.
Atrocitus is shown in the aftermath of the Sinestro Corps War to be the first to forge a Red Lantern power battery, utilizing the power of rage. He said that his first new victim would be the one who called himself "the greatest Green Lantern:" Sinestro, who had long since abandoned the Green Lantern Corps to forge a Corps in his own namesake. His Red Lantern power battery needed to be christened with blood, and he used it to beat Qull to death.
Swearing to destroy Sinestro, Atrocitus became the first member of the Red Lantern Corps. Killing the other inversions, Atrocitus used their blood to form a Central Power Battery, as well as form a power ring. Sending more rings into space, Atrocitus soon formed an army of victims of the Sinestro Corps. Once they were ready, Atrocitus led the Red Lanterns in an attack on the Green Lanterns escorting Sinestro back to Korugar to face execution, who were already suffering an ambush from the Sinestro Corps. Atrocitus tore one Green Lantern in half, as the Red Lanterns killed any and all between them as Sinestro. Once they captured Sinestro and a number of his Corps, they retreated to Ysmault, leaving the Green Lanterns to die. With the onset of the Crises, the Red Lantern Corp have expanded significantly harnessing the rage across all the earths. Atrocitus plans to conquer entire Earths and use his new recruits to further his war against the guardians of every Earth.
Sample Post: Atrocitus gazed down at the quivering pathetic excuse of a man before him, the man pleaded for forgiveness but Atrocitus did not care. He tore the man in two, entrails splattered the walls as he collected the blood to begin his ritual. "Tell me where the lantern known as Sinestro is located." As he stopped speaking images flooded his mind. Images of the purple skinned lantern who Atrocitus craved to destroy, He realized he was not alone and turn to face a police officer. He knew this man had no chance of defeating him. His ring glowed as an axe formed above the officer, it swung downwards annihilating the man. Atrocitus walked out of the room, but he paused to admire his handiwork. It would never be enough until the guardians and their puppets all face justice and now nothing could stand in his way.

Kablamicus, with a few tweaks I would be willing to accept this. My first concern is the issue of plagiarism. What do you mean it's from another game? Is the backstory copied and pasted? I assume you wrote this, however I would like you to rewrite it, not necessarily altering the events, but just to be fresh. There's nothing wrong with the history you've offered, but the main issue, possible plagiarism aside, is that you have not mentioned the crisis. I would like you to explain the impact that the crisis had. And third and finally, I'd like you to edit your sample to break up speech and other text in posts.

To Thatguy12, I'll have to think about that.
