Name: No
actual name. Most call him ‘Pet’. (If first and last names are compulsory, then I will put it in on your request)
Aliases: The Sorcerer’s Mutt, or The Sorcerer’s Voice (to Pet’s face, anyway). To most in Brunswick, they simply call him variations of ‘beast’, ‘monster’, or ‘wolf’.
Age: Very young (reason I put this is because his age is dependent on the sorcerer’s return, which I assume to be recent-ish)
Gender: Male
Role: Sorcerer’s Posse (Sorcerer’s Council :P , but can be a black knight if more than 4 people want these roles) He is the lowest ranking member of the council.
Appearance:
Jet black fur clads his body from top to bottom. Scars criss-cross his face and arms; with rough gray skin showing where the fur doesn’t grow anymore. His iris is made of ghostly blue; while his pupils are dead black (unlike in the picture). The teeth are the most intimidating part; it is made of sharp incisors that poke out of his mouth even when he closes it. Most of the time, a sour look is seen upon his face.
He is six foot tall, and weighs about eighty kilograms. His body is surprisingly slim and of a runner’s build, instead of being a large powerhouse of a beast that rumours allude to. His arms and feet are scarred with patches of grey skin. Sharp claws decorate the ends of his paws.
Common attire: he wears a simple brown woolen tunic and breeches, with a grey sash tied around his waist. The material of his clothing is very soft and comfortable. He is usually barefoot while in this form.
Battle attire: wears
light leather armour that allows a lot of movement but doesn’t protect much. For his legs he wears light metal plates that protect his thighs strapped together with thick leather. He also wears steel fingerless gauntlets that allow him to deflect blows, and for shoes he wears a specially made one that allows his leg(paw?) claws to protrude out.
Personality:
Outer Layer: Because the only time most people see or talk to him is when he’s being deployed on the battlefield, Pet is known to be a rather gruff and unfriendly character. He taunts others who are lower or of equal ranking to him and he always instigates a fight whenever he can. Many people have called him a masochist – he is often seen laughing manically whenever his opponent scores a good hit. In fact, it is when he is in serious danger of death that he feels truly alive.
To others who are of a higher rank than him, however (other councilmembers included), he is very quiet and reserved. He fears them, especially the sorcerer, and knows that his current state of anguish can be made infinitely worse by any of them. This is not to say he won’t get angry with
any of the councilmembers, just that he’s not his usual impetuous self around them. His mind is also brainwashed by the sorcerer, so whatever commands that the sorcerer wishes he do is a compulsion for Pet. If he tries to disobey it, his entire body will convulse it causes him extreme pain.
Inner core: Underneath it all, Pet has a very deep desire to die. It drives all his other actions. Every time he wins a battle, despite his boisterous insults and derisive laughter, he’s secretly disappointed. He longs for the servitude and his life to end.
Others: He loves playing with children (he is technically one himself). Considering his scary appearance, it’s surprising how easily he can get other children to trust him. Of course, the parents are another matter, but they can’t really argue with a Sorcerer’s Councilmember, now can they? On downtimes you can find him in the home for abandoned children or other children’s regular hangout spots. In fact, if you pay close attention sometimes Pet can act rather childlike.
History:
Pet’s father was a warrior who zealously worshipped the sorcerer as a god. He participated in the initial raid of the temple to claim the golden key. He and his group were able to slaughter their way through and claim the golden key for themselves, thus opening up the sorcerer’s prison. As a twisted reward, the sorcerer took the children of the men who broke him out of the prison and turned them into monstrosities. Pet’s father never objected nor said a word, and just allowed his chid to be taken. Pet was created from the merging of abominations and his own body. Most children didn’t survive the change, but even amongst those that did, Pet turned out the strongest. He grew up under constant surveillance, and his mind – while it was young and supple – was warped to be attuned to the sorcerer’s own. Servitude to the sorcerer is all that Pet has ever known.
In a few short years (I hope at least that much time has passed), he had grown into a capable beast of destruction. The sorcerer had Pet train tirelessly in brutal murder, and if Pet did any small mistake he’d be lucky to only have a lash of the whip as punishment. It would be normal for the sorcerer would starve Pet for several days and then lock him in a cage with another person. It was either he ate, or die.
Pet’s original family members (a father, mother and two sisters) are devoted to the sorcerer and worship him as a god. They’re hardy people who have witnessed extreme forms of suffering and will do anything to gain more power and influence. Pet has no knowledge of who they are though; and he doesn’t wish to know anyway.
Powers/Abilities:
He has no magical abilities, but relies purely on his skill to overpower enemies in combat. He is very fast and has teeth and claws that can pierce armor, but his strength can easily be outmatched by another. He also has a metric ton of stamina and is able to travel long distances or fight without tiring or sleeping. Nobody but the sorcerer has seen him tired before. He doesn’t have any ‘power’ per se, but he’s just manufactured to be
really hard to kill. As such, here are a few ‘resistances’ that he has. All of these can be overcome by a sufficiently powerful person.
His body is resistant to magic, though not to an ‘antimagic’ degree, more 'magic-ebbing'. What this means is that any magic that touches his body will gradually become weaker and erode, so it’s more like if you use earth magic to lock him into place the earth will give way sooner or later. A fireball would have more or less the same effect it would have if it hit him as on any other person, except the flames would die out eventually, as opposed to him having to douse it.
Pet has very fast regeneration as well (not wolverine-like, but the upper limit of this ability is that it’s very hard for him to bleed out from any cuts, i.e. if he suffers a cut to the carotid artery, he won’t be in any condition to fight, but if he manages to escape his healing factor will save him from exsanguination. Pierce him in the heart/cut his head off he’s dead.)
He is able to communicate with the sorcerer telepathically over long distances. This is why he is called the sorcerer’s voice as the sorcerer regularly uses him to issue his commands in places that are too far for him to travel.
Practical Skills:
Pet’s illiterate and cannot write. He can read some simple words, but if you were to present him a document he’s gonna think it’s toilet paper. Pet cannot swim either. Honestly, he doesn’t have any other skills. The only thing he’s good at is playing killing others and playing children’s games.
Weakness:
Personality wise, he’s very hard to get along with as alluded to before. No morals whatsoever as well. (don’t mistake his playing with kids as a sign of morality. He’d eat them if the sorcerer wished it so.) Also, he is brash and impetuous, especially when it comes to battle.
He is not proficient in any weapon other than his own claws and teeth. He is still too young to have learned any weaponskill.
He is also vulnerable to psychic and holy attacks. Due to his youth and immaturity, his mind is open to psychic influences. Holy attacks stall his healing factor from kicking in and is the main source of his scars.
Others:
The sorcerer has ordered him to live. That is the main reason why he doesn’t just end his own life or go down without a fight.
Bleeds black blood. Likes his food raw. Not cooked raw. Raw.
