My brother got me to try Gears of War...

I fail to see how this is fun. Just a bunch of muscle-bound morons blowing things up >.> Anyone actually enjoy these games?
That blonde dude is kind of funny though.

This summarize a lot of FPS and TPS.

I enjoyed the first two, not so much the third one. Not even gonna try judgment...

I quite enjoy them, they made for some great couch co-op sessions with my best friend, and I met some of my best friends on Xbox live through the third game.

Compared to 'teh uber realistic modern military shootaaaaaaar' it's kind of a refreshing change of setting.

Plus, the chainsaw bayonet is pretty gnarly.

A special thanks to Vanquished for the sig!

Nothing will beat Portal 2 for co-op. The only shooters I play with friends, as rare as I do, are Halo 4 and Battlefield. Even those far less now, FPS' have become so mind numbingly dull to me.

I've never actually played it before since I'm an Xbox guy, but I usually stay away from FPSs like that. I tend toward games like BioShock or Dishonored, games that require you to think beyond "which gun will make moar people ded moar fasta?".
I don't know what to put here right now.

Amen good sir, games aren't fun unless there's some actual thinking or challenge involved, IMO.

Now I'm plotting a potential Spam Game Night... Hm.... >.>

Mm, fps has been a bland genre for me since modern warfare 2...the only thing that will give me a gamer boner these days are RPGs and games with a strong single player focused narrative.

I like to be told a story.
