    St. Peterson High [IC]

The air was bitter, the moon shone brightly in the night sky. Amanda lay on a tree branch, far above the ground, staring up into the shining stars. School would start in the morning, in no less than eight hours. Her last year; finally. Denver Colorado, what a place to live. She couldn't wait to move away from this place, to get away from her parents that couldn't care less about her. As she looked up into the sky, she knew she wanted to travel the world. There wasn't anything she would like to do more. So many people were so obsessed with money. That's all they ever thought about. They spend their entire lives trying to get it, and by the time they've gotten it, they're too old or too weak to enjoy it... or dead. That wasn't for her. She didn't want to live like that, like just some person, like everyone else. It just seemed so pointless.

Her mind drifted towards school, and a terrible feeling swelled up inside of her. She was nervous. She immediately wondered if there would be any cute guys, and her lips spread into a smirk. Her eyes drifted to the leaves, so dark and blue in the night. Her eyes slowly closed, as her mind raced on about the coming day.

Then they shot open. The light of the sun was already expanding over the horizon, and she was at least 20 minutes from home. She leapt out of the tree, and darted away, jumping over trash cans and dodging cars full of angry drivers, shouting at her to be more careful. The fear inside her was growing, what if her mom came up to her room and she wasn't there? She saw her house, and climbed up her wall, leaping through the window. She heard footsteps, and jumped onto her bed, covering herself in her blanket, just as the door opened.

"Alright Amanda, time to get up." Her mother stated, bored. She saw Amanda still asleep in her bed. "I knew you would forget to set your alarm clock. Hurry up, you need to drive to school." Her mom left back to her room to go back to sleep, and Amanda got out of bed. That was way too close.

She quickly got ready for school; A power-shower, brushed her teeth, grabbed her stuff, and went downstairs.

"Morning." Her little brother, Josh, was waiting for her.

"Morning." She responded sleepily. She looked her brother over, and saw his hair was a mess. She laughed under her breath, and went out the door. Her brother followed her without a word.

They were halfway to school when she noticed her brother was looking at her hair.

    "What?" She demanded?

"Your hair." He said. She adjusted her mirror to see she had forgotten to brush it. With a sign of frustration, she reached into the back seat to pull out a grey winter hat, and fixed it onto her head. Hopefully she wouldn't have to take it off... rules usually weren't terribly enforced on the first day of school.

"So," She began, almost awkwardly, "you ready for your first day back?" He shrugged.

    "I guess so. You?"

"I'm always ready." She said with confidence, as the pulled up into the parking lot. "Well, good luck. I'll see you after school, okay?" She said with a smile. He nodded with a straight face, and left. She left too, to her first class, English. This was strange... she looked at her watch, and she was early. 7:40am, and school officially starts at 8:00am. Oh well. She entered the room, seeing that no one was there yet, so she sat in her seat, pulled out an iPod, and started sketching in her notebook.

Alexis heard the shouting of her birth-mom's voice. "Get up, Alexis!" She slowly opened her eyes before hearing footsteps coming closer to her room. "I'm up, mom!" she said, before the door could open.

"Get ready for school or you'll be late!" Her real mom wasn't rude, she just didn't want Alexis to get into trouble. She was like a little goody girl. "I'm going to make some breakfast for you while you're getting ready.

"Okay," she said, yawning. She stretched before getting out of bed and going to her closet. She grabbed her robe on the way there. She grabbed a sky blue t-shirt and pair of skinny jeans that had a few holes in them. Then, she headed off to the shower.

About half an hour late, Alexis was out of the bathroom and walking down the hall. She wore very little makeup, but she made it work. She sat in her spot at the table across from her other mother. "Good morning," she said cheerfully.

"Morning, sweetie," they said at the same time. Her plate was placed in front of her and she began eating. "Hope you're ready for school! We're leaving in a few minutes. She nodded and quickly ate, before grabbing her things. Soon, she was out the door with her birth-mom and in the car. She was driven to school and the car stopped in front of the school. "Here we are, have a good day," she said.

Alexis smiled, nodding. She kissed her cheek and got out of the car. It was her senior year, and she hoped it was going to be great, especially compared to the last three years. She looked at her schedule and headed to her first class, English. She sat in the middle of the classroom, seeing only one other girl there.

The apartment of Alexander D. Grace wasn't the prettiest one, but it worked for everything he needed. He did a decent job keeping the place clean, rent wasn't the worst, and to boot he had everything he wanted inside. Currently asleep, zoned out on his couch with a small blanket thrown over him, his alarm clock began going off.

    Beep Beep Beep!

    "No."

    Beep Beep Beep!

    "Ugh, shut up..."

    "Mew?"

"N-" He shot up, noticing his cat, Felix. The cat stared at him for a few moments, confused. It mewed, rubbing it's head against his chest. He laughed, scratching the cat behind the ears. "Good morning, Felix." He said, as he picked up the purring furball and sat him on the floor. Alex stood up and scratched the back of his head, yawning. Today was the first day of school, and the 30th day he'd been living in the apartment, and left his family due to them constantly holding him back. At least he felt that way. He walked into his bathroom, he already had his clothes set out to get dressed, but first he needed a good shower. It was a good ten minutes later he was finished, trying to keep himself on time, but not looking like a wreck. He hopped out of the shower, noticing Felix was right there, starring at him. "Come on, bud. Give me some privacy!" He begged, as the cat just continued to sit there and stare. Alex rolled his eyes, getting dressed.

Soon after he made his way out, he was completely dressed, but he was missing something. Ah, yes, his glasses! It was a secret, but he didn't actually have to wear them. He just liked them. "Just set you right there." He said, putting his glasses on. He walked into his small compact kitchen and opened his fridge, pulling out a package of sliced deli ham and grabbing his half-eaten loaf of bread. He pulled out two slices of bread and two slices of ham, throwing the ham onto the bread and closing it between them, making a quick sandwich. He was about to close the ham before noticing Felix at his feet, begging. "Meeeeow..." It begged, as Alex laughed and pulled out another slice, throwing it to his friend. The cat caught it, running off to eat in peace. Alex opened the fridge again and tossed the package inside, not caring really where it landed. He grabbed his sandwich, running towards the door. His bag was already hanging there for him, so he grabbed it and threw it over his arm, opening the door and closing it as he exited his upstairs room, Apartment 101. He started eating his sandwich as he walked down the stairs towards the ground floor, then heading off down the street towards the school. He didn't have a car, and he liked walking, so it was all good.

It was around 15 minutes before he arrived, probably around 7:45 AM, by his guess. He walked up the stone steps to the school's entrance, and went inside. He reached into his pocket, pulling out a small notepad and flipping a few pages. He had to write stuff down because he had a hard time remembering. "English, huh?" He questioned, walking forward. He guessed he was early, it didn't really matter, as long as he wasn't late.
Pushing open the door to the classroom, there was only one person there. A girl, and she seemed occupied with her own business. He walked to the back, sitting in the far-right seat. He liked staying in the back, he felt better there. He flipped his notepad to a new page, pulling out the pin clipped to it. It was black, and had the word 'Inkspot' on the side in white letters. He liked it, so who cares what others thought? He began writing down his plans, such as things he needed from the store before he went home, and of course, make sure to stock up on food for Felix.

    Dang alarm.

Cody whispers this when he wakes up. A groan escapes his lips, echoing throughout his room. His mother opens his door, ready to wake him if he should not be awake, and hears the groan.

Don't give me that, young man. It is the start of the new year. Now, get ready.

Cody hears this, but does not reply back. He puts his arms to his side and pushes up, his feet going underneath him. He limps towards the bathroom, as his body was still out, and forces his hands to turn on the sink. He cups the water flowing out of the faucet and it stays in his palms before he throws it into his face. His eyes close at this sight, but open after feeling the cold.

He walks out the door downstairs, before reaching his "office". In here, all he had was a television, his gaming laptop, a couch littered with school crap and letters from colleges, and his Xbox. Cody heads towards the couch and grabs his keys, wallet, phone, and puts his computer into the backpack. He heads outside, where it was a warm morning. He hops into the car and drives to school, no word mentioned from the bathroom and into his car.

He drives for several minutes, before hearing his stomach start to growl, crying out for food. He sighs at the prospect of no food, but continues on his journey. Another year of school. If only he was done with school. One more school year until he was done. Cody smiled at this thought, for with it came the thought of leaving home.

He entered the parking lot with no accident, and parked the car on the farthest part of the parking lot. He then walked to class and saw a girl with headphones in, drawing in her notebook and a guy in the far right. Then he noticed another girl sitting in the middle of the classroom. Cody decided to ignore them for the moment, as he was tired. He set his bag down at a desk in the back row and set his head down, trying to sleep once again.

    .... Ouch....

Was the first thought that came to Aarons mind when he stopped sleeping. With his eyes still closed, he felt pain around his neck. "Dang it..." He opened his eyes just to find himself on a couch. His sleeping position was bad, leading to the pain. He pushed him self up, looked around the room, his sight a bit blurry, it was still dark. He turned towards clock on top of the television. "Nuuuh" he threw himself back down onto the couch. It was still 6.30... Why the hell did he get up so early? He rolled himself from couch onto the floor with loud *thud* "Just. Great." This woke him up, he got up, stretched, turned the light on and went towards the bathroom. "Gotta do my stuff now..." He took a long, hot, shower. He got out and looked himself in the mirror. He had to fix up his hair, he loved to have it in his favorite hair style his friend showed him how to get. It takes a bit time, but whatever, he had time. After finishing his business in bathroom, he went to living room and turned on the TV. Nothing special. After deciding TV was useless, he went to his precious treasure vault, The Kitchen. He opened up the fridge, grabbed tons of stuff and decided to make a new kind of sandwich. He took a sheet of paper from the printer and started writing down stuff he used. When suddenly. "O' shit..." School! It was first day in his new school year! How could he forget that! He grabbed his sandwich and a jacket, then stormed off thru' the doors...... After few moments, returning to pick up his bag and books, then again storming off..

It was 7.50 AM when he got to the school. Maybe. The sandwich was delicious though, worth anything he could get from being late. He walked around looking for his ol' buddy English. After finally remembering where it was, he kicked the door open and said one loud "Hellou my friends! I hope you all had wonderful break! I also hope we didn't have any assignments over the break, right?" There were few people already in there, he sat next to some guy writing down stuff and patted him on shoulder. "How are you doing Alexander? Your cat doing fine? I heard that you have moved."

    Ravielle Gullory

The day belated into the soft, smoggy sunshine above the trees, the beach house located near the ends of the seashore had rounded past the dark hours, and one of it's residents sat near on the porch, lulling off into half sleep. For whatever reason, Ravielle always found herself awoken by even the faintest light from the morning. The horizon burned a light sapphire when she was awoken, complete with newly formed clouds, awaiting the wash of orange the sunlight would bring. It was those type of moments that made waking early worth it for her. Naturally, she sneaked around, it must have been at 5 or 6 am when she ventured out of the house, and into the nature surrounding the seaside , it was one of those few advantages it had over normal homes, or at least the ones she and her father live in previously. A cold chill crept up her spine as she jolted herself back up, there was no point in falling asleep now that she had actually managed to wake herself up, her attendance record wasn't exactly pristine. Everyday was a step towards being a little less lazy, and a little less relaxed. Many would be surprised that she was actually willing to change herself, though the concept was hard to grasp. For the moment though, she definitely wasn't in the mood for any talk of change, she already chided herself enough. Surprised at the lack of time she had to get ready she curled herself into a ball, something about the coast being mostly empty sent a shiver up her spine and not a particularly good one, people seemed to ignore the beach more and more as the years passed by as they were continually hindered by things like the internet preoccupying their minds, she couldn't blame them for things that were completely out of their hands.

For a moment though she reflected on what she even did before standing from the porch, grabbing her bookbag and finally deciding to leave, by the way her hair was messily configured under her hat, the shorts she haphazardly threw on, the knitted worn shirt she wore, everything she had was put on with haste and little preparation, but at least they were comfortable. It was a good start to the morning, after all she had to stay on the positive side of things to enjoy what she did. It didn't take her long to make a trip down to parking lot, anticipate the bus and then head towards school. Arriving, she had nothing to really preoccupy herself with and simply traveled over to the cafeteria since she neglected to eat any breakfast before leaving home. She grasped a tray, then gathered whatever food was being served, and while she'd normally sit on the floor and eat alone, or perhaps even go outside, today just felt like a stay in day, she walked towards the nearest table, and plopped down on the chair, digging her spork into the watery oatmeal served to her. She hardly ate it considering the taste, but she got enough to satisfy the grumbling in her stomach. With something of a worried look she dumped the rest of her food in the trash and headed towards English, once inside she was surprised to find so many people, considering she was usually the early bird whenever she came to school. She sat near a girl sketching in her notebook, and while there was nothing particularly special about the moment, Ravielle didn't want to seem like the awkward person staring impolitely.

Hey, that's really nice. I mean you're a pretty good artist." her voice came out slightly mellow, and with no depth to it. it was almost awkward making such causal banter, but this wasn't apparent to the girl whatsoever.

    Dreseden Giancarlo

A very soft meticulous voice hummed beneath sheets, Dresden had something preoccupying his mind. The empty spot next to him was a victim of his frustrated stares, and his insomnia, to bide the time he had to hum songs to himself, hopeful to beguile himself to sleep. Too bad that only worked half the time. Especially with the faint sounds of doors opening, though there was one door he attuned his ears to hearing whenever it opened. That, was his father whose job demanded that he wake every early morn. The whole reason Dres even attended school was to avoid a fate such as this, the morning schedule had become so ingrained in his father that he hardly even felt fatigued in these early hours, which surprised Dresden, who was anything but a morning person. The poor boy laid in his bed all night, drifting between dream and consciousness, his mind seemed intent on making tomorrow uneventful as the darkness that crept into his room and was replaced by sunlight. His hazel eyes scanned the ceiling in anxiety, he hardly felt like he slept, and he could forget about dreaming, not to mention that he hardly even had 30 minutes to ready himself and make it to school. Good thing, his father could at least drop him off today, his own Chevy Impala was out of gas, and he had to stick close to whomever offered him a ride. His dad seemed eager, if only a little annoyed at his son, who at the moment jolted out of bed after checking his Iphone, and was currently hurrying himself to change into new clothes. Apparently, he seemed to neglect the fact that his father had a job to keep too, and there was nothing simple in being late. He stared out of the window to their driveway, sipping his coffee, as he could hear all types of rustling behind him. It wasn't until he heard the zipping of a bookbag that he turned around, to find his son slightly disheveled, but it was hardly noticeable to him, and he didn't feel too much like lambasting him for it.

With a sigh, he headed for the door with Dresden in tow, silent, typical for the boy, and the two entered his truck. Like most mornings few words were exchanged between the two, and the drive was much more silent than it needed to be, Sometimes the only thing Dresden even said to his father was Goodbye when he was passenger in his truck. It was no different this time, and before he even knew it the truck was already in the driveway, and he exited with a simple pass of his hand as a way to say bye to his father, who responded with nothing but a nod. The boy immediately garnered some attention from the cliques that normally hung around the outside of the school, first thing they would notice was his guitar, strapped to his back, and rather large compared to other instrument but he seemed to handle it fine. He smirked at the passerby's as they waved and gossiped amongst one another, Dresden was half glad he wasn't associated with, they seemed too impressionable anyways. He traveled to his English class and quickly sat in one of the seats near the end, breathing in, and trying to relax his tense muscles. Something about being out in public so early gave him a bit of anxiety, but of course it was nothing his guitar couldn't fix. He unsheathed it, and laid it in his lap, he wouldn't play, but instead he went to tuning the instrument. Luckily there was only four to five people in there, he hoped they wouldn't feel too bad about him playing.

Sorry if this is bothering any of you...I can't stand playing in public."

he mumbled from the back of the class, while he continued to strum at tuned wires.

Keira couldn't believe what today was. The time for when she had to take the young ones to school will be soon, so everything must be be neatly put away in their backpacks. "Pencils, check. Pens, check. Notebooks, check. Can of worms for Marc, check. Bind-wait...can of worms.." Keira checked inside the youngest boy's backpack to discover the worms moving around his backpack. "Ahh!! Marc! What is this? Get it out of the house!" Keira kicked the backpack outside the house.

Marc ran down stairs and noticed what happened to his backpack. "Keira! I was going to show my friends my new friends. You might have killed them" he puffed out his cheeks as if it was okay to bring worms into the house. Keira simply sighed when he was acting "angry". She just pet his head and went inside to gather her own stuff and leave to school. "Sophie! Get ready we have to go in a few minutes."
The little girl didn't seem too pleased to leave for school.

Keira really wondered why everyone seemed badly tempered today. It was a new year where you can change yourself. The young ones shouldn't be complaining at all for this year determines whether Keira is accepted or flat out too boring for anybody. She hasn't really thought about any guys from her school as cute or anything, but there is a first time for everything. Keira simply laughed softly to herself. "Yeah right. No guy will live up to my standards." she grabbed her backpack and was heading to the door. The young ones followed behind as they proceeded to the young ones school first. Once Keira reached her stop for the kids, she turned the opposite direction and headed to the her high school.

Being there a few minutes early didn't make her feel at ease for she noticed a few students early. 'Oh god...I hate this feeling already.' she thought. This year something was going to change, but she didn't know what exactly.

It was a while before anyone started showing up, but one by one, they entered. She didn't pay any of them much mind, glued to her sketch in her notebook. Her socks felt like they weren't properly on her feet, so she took her shoes off and adjusted them, then put her shoes back on. She took a moment to look out the window, and noticed a storm cloud on its way. A big one. It figures... even the weather disagrees with school being back in session.

After a while, a girl came to sit by her. She didn't pay her much mind at first either, but when the girl complimented her artwork, she took her left earphone out and looked at the girl.

"What?" She asked plainly. Taking a good look at the girl, she thought she was kind of cute. The way here eyebrows complimented her eyes, and her mouth complimented her cheekbones. One glance at the hat, and she knew this girl was having a bad hair day too. She thought of her brother for a moment, before focusing back on this girl.

Alexis watched as more students walked into the classroom. She kind of recognized some of their faces, but didn't know them personally. She'd just seen them around the school in the years before. She got out a notebook and pen as she waited for the class to begin.

She looked around nervously at the other students, as if waiting for the others to start teasing her. She was sure that they knew, what student here didn't?

Alexander was minding his own business, not really caring to notice most of the people who came in, aside from Aaron, someone he had been in classes with before. He smiled, looking at the guy who sat beside him, and was quite happy when he asked about Felix. "Aah, me? Yes. I'm doing quite alright." He said, laying down his notepad after making his shopping list, sighing. "Same for Felix, he's as prideful as ever." He said with a small laugh, before replying to his final question. "And yes, I've had my own apartment for the last month, just me and the cat. I felt my family was pulling me down from the success I want, so i decided to leave and get my own place, i had been saving up in case this situation came up, you know me, always prepared." He said, removing his glasses and rubbing his eyes, instantly putting them back on afterwards.

"What about you? Plan on not being late, i hope? Get them good grades, get out on your own. I honestly have felt amazing, having my own living space! I have the place all set up, nice living room, small bedroom, the kitchen's the perfect size for me, and the bathroom doesn't have any leaks... Hopefully." he said, putting a hand on his chin, remembering the time the people downstairs had a bit of a 'yellow liquid leakage'... Ugh.
