    X-men: rise of the sentinels OOC

    The year is 2217 and the mutant human war has taken a turn for the worse, the humans in a do or die attempt have built a robotic super soldier, its name was Bastion, and they set it loose with only one command “wipe out all mutants from the planet earth”. The problem is that it’s AI turned on the humans themselves and determined that to kill all mutants you must kill all humans from which they came, it used the advanced technology and stolen genetic mutation powers to leap back in time to the year 500 BC, it crashed into the plants surface sustaining heavy damage and putting itself into a hyper-repair cycle to try and restore its systems; time pasted as it does and soon the robotic body found itself functional but without a new power source, the humans of the time feared at and trapped it in a large cavern.

    The year is now January 2000 and archaeologists have discovered this hidden tomb for the robotic life-form, the removed it from its resting place and used the technology of the day to recharge its power cells; it awoke and killed all the humans in the labs and building before vanished from existence once more.

    Once more time passed without any sound from the robotic life-form until it struck, the date was the 20th of December 2012 and unlike every other day today was going to go down in history as the day Bastion returned and turned to world upside down; his first strike was like a scalpel, he had built smaller copies of himself called sentinels and sent them out into the world to track and kill the most prominent among the mutants of that time, the X-men.

    That’s the history as it stands now, and the story will pick up from there, the 20th of December 2012, the end of the world basically; each of us will take on the role of a young (13-19) mutant who are out on a field trip together, the attack happens before our eyes and we see our teacher one of the legendary X-Men cut down before us, its is then up to us to fight and survive the revival of Bastion and the sentinel.

    Character Sheets

    Rules for making characters
    1- ages will be limited to 13-19 years
    2- appearance is either a picture or detail description
    3- powers are limited to beta level, this is not to say you can’t have elemental abilities which are Omega level, but that your powers will not be at that strength yet. This allows for growth and development of powers
    4- personality can be revealed during play, but I would prefer a paragraph
    5- backgrounds are a must, try aiming for 3-4 paragraphs
    6- powers, these are your basic abilities, they will show what you are capable of at your current level.
    7- power layout - if you wanted a fire wielder then you would put down type- energy subtype- fire, for a wolverine style character it would be type- shape subtype- regeneration and natural weapons

    Appearance:

    Personality: Zip is the type of guy who talks fast and tries to get what he wants as quick as possible. That doesn't mean he is antisocial though. He likes talking to people as much as the next guy it's just his rate of speech is a bit quicker, especially when he get's his much beloved soda. He would risk life and limb to save someone he cared about.

    Background: Zip was born in Edinburgh, Scotland. His father owned a corner shop which he and Zip worked in. His mother worked in a hospital nearby the corner shop. Zip's job was to watch over the shop when his father had gone out for one reason or another. Most of the time he just drunk the cola that his father got excessive amounts of for precisely Zip's obsession with the drink. He got his nickname because of his fast paced speech pattern and the fact that before he got his powers he ran everywhere.

    He went to one of the worse public schools in Scotland. He was one of the kids who rarely got into trouble though. He did still cause some it's just he was fast enough to get away without anyone noticing it was him. He was a part of some sort of gang. It was really just him and four of his friends but they still went by the rouse of a gang. Really all they did was hang around playparks and taunt people who they didn't like.

    On his thirteenth birthday his powers came in. He noticed it when he 'ran' downstairs and flew into a wall. His father noticed this and was intrigued. He ran a few tests after giving his son his present. Of course his father was no scientist but before he grew up he was a comic enthusiast. He confirmed that he was a mutant and instead of scolding or beating him like most did he accepted him and thought his new found powers were cool.

    But he knew what he had to do. He set him up to go to Xaviers with much regret from Zip's mother. Zip's first few weeks were hard, he still didn't know how to control his powers and so he kept running into people. But he eventually got used to it and over the years he has been mastering it to the point where he can now jog at a normal persons pace.

    Powers:
    - type- Energy
    - sub-type- Speed

    - known ability-
    -Speed Force
    -Speed Force, the ability to run at great speeds but also keep everything normal EG vision is normal, clothing is normal and other things.
    -Can only run a short distance at the moment

    - known ability-
    -Molecular Acceleration
    -The ability to speed up molecules to the extent that they catch fire
    -Can only do this when running

    um... about Rule 6... am i the only person here who sees that as a great big neon sign that says "EXPLOITABLE!!!" on it? this basically means that your character can do anything so long as it is vaguely related to that power. how about you put those down as guidelines, but have to run it by everyone else before you start to pull powers out your ass because they are mildly related to your guys power?

    I just noticed that. That is a huge disadvantage for those of us who choose powers like mine that have nothing to do with elements or projection.

    vaultboy -
    1)the way i was thinking the power is slightly different, your would be energy-speed
    2)the molecular acceleration thing seems a bit farfetched, yes everything has friction point at which it will ignite but getting to such speeds will cause everything below that point to fall apart/ignite, also what sort of protection you going to have? cause if it burns it will burn you... thats if you don't burn up first
    3) but other than that just waiting for you rest of your CS

    mattmanganon - ok will edit it slightly, to try remove that flaw

    Aah I see I didn't really understand that part. And the first power protects him from the second. Basically anything speed related that causes him damage that he does (except from the obvious like running into walls or being shot) is protected by that.
