What kinds of tech would there be? Would it be largely fantasy-esque with the exception of modern instruments?
Blood and Metal
Before we get into the RP I would just like to say that I have been wanting to do something like this in awhile but could never find the time to do it until now. I am not really sure how many people who are into classic and extreme metal on this forum so again I'm not sure of what kind of a turnout I can be expecting. Now I am not including Nu Metal, Metalcore etc. because I don't really know much about it, nor are these particular parts of the Heavy Metal something I enjoy, please do not ask for Nations to made for a genre not already present below. Alright I'm done so continue on below for the RP itself, also I will add more information upon request and general interest.
The lands of Metal are in disarray. After millennia of banishment the Black Gods of Metal have returned with new worshipers to wield as they see fit, creating a war machine to crush all the other countries of Metal as a revenge act for casting them out in the first place. The Kingdom of Zepp hearing of these travesties in the far-off lands of Testament, Visceral and Hammerfall decides to send it’s mightiest warriors to quell the fires blazing in the northern skies. If they fail in their quest the black empire of Panzerfaust will surely crush all other lands of Metal in wake of their charge.
The Nations of Metal
Zepp (Classic Metal) – This was the earliest inhabited corner of the continent when humankind began its journey through the lands of Metal. They are generally an easygoing people whose lands feature vast plains, epic mountains and beautiful lakes. Bringing with them the worship of the Gods of Metal who they pay homage to through casual worship by attending sonic sermons and such. It was their ancestors that threw out the worship of the Black Gods of Metal many, many years ago.
Testament (Thrash Metal) – After some time some of the youth of Zepp grew tired and bored of their parents wills and ways, deciding to leave further into the continent in search of adventure. Finding opposition from Punk barbarians they settled down in what is now known as Testament, whose people began to become more extreme worshipping the Gods of Metal in new and wild ways in which pushed some even further into extremity. The land itself is somewhat volatile with similar landscapes as Zepp with the exception of volcanic activity and with no access to the sea.
Magus (Doom Metal) – Almost as many years ago as humankind came to the lands of metal there has always been the small country of Magus. These were the men and women who were most eager in casting out the black Gods of Metal who then formed a small church in the bleak, dreary wilderness north of Zepp. The Doom Priests were formed and still function today with a small gathering of towns and villages surrounding the original temple Sabbath. Another interesting factor of Magus is that a copius amount of Marijuana grows there and it has become a custom to smoke among its inhabitants.
Visceral (Death Metal) – Visceral is a land of barbarity and bloodlust, created by a group of Testament warrior men and women who revelled in the destruction of the Punk barbarians. Going against orders to leave the retreating Punks they drove further and further into the east crushing all those in their paths, until there were no Punks left to destroy. Cast out from Testament they formed a new country, which featured terrain of blood stained rivers, mountains and forests. This country is currently under the control of Panzerfaust and it’s warriors are now aligned with the Black Gods of Metal.
Hammerfall (Power Metal) – Formed by famed explorers from Testament who loved the land for it’s magical creatures and terrain, The people of Hammerfall are a happy folk who share just as much in common with the people of Zepp as they do Testament but in different ways. They also have some of the more powerful wizards and witches of any of the Metal nations although a Doom Priest and a Power Wizard have never formally duelled.
Panzerfaust (Black Metal) – Although not even technically a country, the lands of Panzerfaust are bleaker than even that of Visceral or Magus. Inhabited by very few humans, those who do inhabit it are aligned with the Black Gods of Metal who in turn have given them much power in which they have used to conquer Visceral. Commanded by their Gods these men and women wish to crush the country of Zepp for casting their masters out from the halls of worship many millennia ago. The land is a huge, frost-bitten forest that holds some of the darkest mysteries and occult enigmas within the lands of Metal.
The Factions of Metal
Name: Doom Priests
Nation: Magus
Loyalty: Zepp, Magus, Testament
Abilities: Experts in wielding Doom Bass Guitars using the guitar as a catalyst for spells and incantations.
History: One of the most ancient factions throughout the lands of Metal, the Doom Priests strive to preach the word of the old Gods of Metal such as Ioomi, Bonham and Blackmoore but are known to worship younger gods as well. Generally neutral towards most of the Nations they look to keep the Black Gods of Metal weak and powerless without the worship of people. Recently they have reported to the Kingdom of Zepp that in the far north-east a new Nation of Metal has been forged under the banner of the Black Gods and that they seek to bring the people of the lands of Metal under their rule.
Name: Necro Lords
Nation: Panzerfaust
Loyalty: N/A
Abilities: Elite warriors who combine necromantic magic and superb swordplay to crush their foes.
History: Not much is known of the Necro Lords other than their intent to enslave the rest of the Nations of Metal, bringing them under the heel of the Black Gods of Metal, such as Varg, Fenriz and Abbath. Only a few of these warriors have been reported and it is assumed that they are the only force Panzerfaust possesses other than the hordes of Visceral that the now control.
Note: This is a special group that only a few people can join, PM if you are interested.
Name: Carnal Orators
Nation: Visceral
Loyalty: Visceral/Panzerfaust
Abilities: Their growling voices are able to shake the very bones a man stands on. Also renowned for casting fire magic from their very breath.
History: Dangerous creatures are these due to the fact the better they become the more there memory deteriorates unless under control by someone of greater magical alignment to quell the primal urges for bloodlust. For this reason alone they are always partnered within the faction with controllers who bond with their battle-brother in wreaking havoc upon the battlefield. They worship some of the more extreme Gods of Metal such as Schuldiner, Becerra and Benton but they are still essentially aligned with the Gods of Metal.
Name: Metal Militia
Nation: Testament
Loyalty: Nomadic/Contracted
Abilities: Uses lightning based spells created through guitar rifts, the strength of the spell being based on the rift itself and, it's duration.
History: During the migration of youth from Zepp, a small group stumbled upon a wandering Doom Priest who had been traveling back to Magus. The group became fascinated in his magic use of the bass guitar. Finally implementing this use to the Electric, though the small group prideful of this ability left Testament. They now wander further practicing their technique in small groups or alone, taking odd-jobs and mercenary work. They worship the Gods of Metal such as Hammet, Angelripper and Cavelera.
Name: Power Wizards
Nation: Hammerfall
Loyalty: Hammerfall
Abilities: Using high-pitched incants they can summon the element to do their bidding for them, wreathing their opponent in a torrent of flame, energy, earth and ice alike.
History: After the explorers of Testament had finally settled down and had begun to form Hammerfall, their were some who still had not quenched their wanderlust. Journeying further north they found a hidden valley that held ancient scriptures teaching the adventurers the ways of elementalism, they're magical abilities are said to rival that of the Doom Priest but this has never been officially proven. They worship Gods of Metal such as Dio, Gillan and Halford.

I have updated the first post with a couple of the factions within the lands of Metal, you are of course welcome to suggest your own factions if you so please.
Even if I don't join I has a suggestion.
