'Stars. Moon. Sun. Galaxy.'
It was beautiful, floating weightlessly in the middle of a star covered universe. Holding out your hands as if you stretched out far enough, you would feel the cool misty orb that floated around you, and maybe- Just maybe.. Just a little closer, you could take that star, and call it yours. Grant a wish, and it will come true.
'I wish I could fall--'
"Nee! Nee! KITA. GET UP. GET UP. GET UP."
Feeling as if the dream was fading away, everything becoming a blur, and the muffling in her white furred ears suddenly taking in the high pitched screams calling her to wake up, her eyes flung open, only to see her youngest brother jumping on her stomach and pulling wildly on her fox ears. "Ow! Ow! Ow!" Kita yelped, the feeling of pain finally thrusting in as this little kid was giving her merciless physical damage. "Daiki! Get up! Now!" She yelled the rush of anger bursting out, as she grabbed him by the waist and threw him to the side of her on the bed. He just gave a innocent giggled and got right back up again as if nothing happened.
"Mama! Papa! Kita's up!" The little 5 year old yelled, his ears perking up along with his tail as he jumped off of his sisters bed and out the small room.
Kita just sat there on her bed, an exhausted look forming on her tired face. It was a rough night before, getting her clothes ready, practicing the new hairstyle she would try out for the first day, everything she would ever need when she was in the academy was packed in a big black suitcase, and getting her schedule mesmerized so she wouldn't be lost for when she got there. All that extra stuff, took 5 unneeded hours; and she definitely realized it now this early in the morning with that exaggerated rude awaking. "That pest.." she hissed through her teeth, as she threw herself up off the bed towards her door, slamming it, letting out the anger she wanted to use to end that overly hyper 5 year old brat. But, yet again, she would get in trouble by her dad if he was found with a busted lip or even a scratch on his elbow. It didn't even matter if she did the worst to him, the only thing stopping her is the disappointed look she would get from her father if she even laid on hand on the kid. Obviously, we all know who was the favorite. But, this is what happens when you have a new kid to the 7 other kids in this chaotic family.
Sighing, she went over to her vanity, greeting the reflection with a long last yawn, a unpleasant look, and a ratted nest of hair. "Good morning Kita." she said tiredly. "Are you ready for your first day of school today? Why yes.. Yes I am, thanks for asking Kita." pausing, she picked up the brush that was placed in front of her. "So, what do you plan on looking like today Kita? Are you going to do that ultra cute side bun curl that was in the magazine you always wanted to try?" with a shake of her head, she commenced with the battle of brushing out the disaster of her hair. The pain, was unbearable.
A good fifteen minutes later, her make up was on, all 5 each ear piercings were in the two human ears she had, no tail or fox ears were shown, her new uniform was on and being admired in the small mirror of her vanity, and her bag was securely hung around her left shoulder. Finally, awake and ready, it was time to start her life in Yokai Academy. The day she has been waiting for, to finally get out of this house and to live on her own for one whole semester. What a relief. Matter of fact, what a dream. A dream that she wished on every possible chance she was given. Although, it may be some what of a selfish dream; but, if you were to live with so many people with clashing personalities in such an enclosed house that was only meant for a family of four, anyone would understand.
Picking up the suitcase that was propped on the wall next to the door, she opened her door that silenced the sounds of a busy family on the second floor down in the living room. Sighing out, she trotted down the stairs only to be welcomed by about a dozen muffled 'good mornings' with food in their mouth. Giving a slight smile to everyone she nodded her head in response. "Kita dear! Do you want something to eat while I'm still in the kitchen?" The sound of her mothers distressed voice coming from the kitchen. Setting the suitcase down from where she was standing, she made her way to the kitchen, popping her head in the door way. "No mum. I'm ok, just a peice of toast with jam will be fine! I'll eat once I get to the academy." Her mother turned to face her, a sadden expression forming as she realized her second daughter was leaving her to become a grown teenage adult. "Are you sure? I don't want you to starve.." Kita gave a smile and shook her head. "I'm fine," she repeated, before her mom came over and kissed her forehead. "I'll be back before you know it. I'll keep in touch, and I'll call whenever I get the chance. I promise." All her mother did was nodd in response, keeping the farewell tears inside before looking towards her sons and husband who all had their mouths stuffed and their eyes on the t.v. "Everyone say goodbye to Kita! Wish her luck!" Everyone looked over to Kita and smiled, and in unison they all said "Have a nice day!" Kita smiled, rolling her eyes "I'll be back." she said in response, before grabbing her toast with strawberry jam, then her suitcase, and left that chaotic house with her back turned the whole time. Looking back, would only make her want to cry even more than she was as she set foot out of that house.
'I'll be back.. Even if it's not right away.. I'll miss you guys.'
It was a long walk from her house to the bus stop, but yet again, it was a relaxing walk. It was still early in the morning so it was mostly a silent new morning sound, with the birds chirping and the smell of mildew in the air.
As she reached the stop, someone seemed to already be there, telling by the looks of his uniform, it had to be someone from the academy as well. His appearance was quite sloppy compared to her tidy look, but yet again, she wouldn't blame him for being quite.. tired, on a early morning such as this. Stopping next to the bus stop, setting her suitcase up right, she stood their silently as she fidgeted with her thumbs awkwardly away from the other student.
"Good morning." Kita said politely, looking away from the boy to avoid any awkward contact they would make.
