Never in her young life did she think she would be in prison, a dungeon that was dark and frightening and had a leak somewhere that constantly dripped water, forced into a holding cell with nothing but a bed for futniture, which she hesitantly sank onto the matress, as she had done every night to sleep, feeling the straw that stuffed the matress under the folds of her torn prison uniform, sitting in this very cell for a crime she hadn't commited, simply having been in the wrong place at the wrong time, though she tried to tell them that but they refused to believe her, saying that the attacks and theviery have stopped on the Royal Palace since she's been caught and put where she "belonged." Exhausted and weary and missing home, she fell slowly into a fitfull sleep, as she had been doing for about a year or so now in this same cell, same dungeon, same everything...

Evaryan got in his clothes, grabbed his weapons and headed down to the castle to stand guard on his first day watching a prisoner. He didn't have to wear real armor like the other guards because he was just in training. He was the "New Guy" so he was given an easy job, with one rule "Dont talk to the prisoner."
As he walked to the castle some people stared at him, he knew he was pale. Pale as a ghost but people didn't need to stare. He sighed and walked down into the prison, guarding the door where the prisoner was.
His black hair stuck out in strange places and his startling blue eyes where excited for his first day. As he stood in front of the door like he was supposed to, but couldn't help but peek in at the girl. He just had to see what she looked like, as he stared at her his eyes grew wide and he quickly looked away realizing she was awake, not asleep like he had hoped.

She watched curiously when she heard another guard and sighed heavily as he came into view, and she tilted her head to the side as she took in his raven hair and pale skin, all contrasted to with his bright blue eyes, blue eyes that were as common as grass in their era. He seemed excited about his position, for whatever reason. Her first opinion of him was that he was like all the rest. She turned her own icy blue eyes from his after shooting him a glare. "Going to gawk at me like all the rest I suppose." She grumbled from upon the straw embeded mattress she lay on, though he probably wouldn't speak with her, as the guards never did, no matter how much she tried to tell them she was innocent.

Evaryan stuttered slightly "No." He said defiantly, then started beating himself up inside because he had just broken the first and only rule he was given in less than five minutes. "D*** it." He swore, shaking his head.
Well, he wasn't going to say anymore, he bit his tongue. He had noticed she had blue eyes like his, but they were glaring at him at the time so he couldn't exactly call them "pretty."
He wondered, what crime she had committed. All they had told him was "Dont talk to her, just stand there and make sure she doesn't try and escape." that was it and he was sent off.

She blinked in surprise. Not because she didn't believe he wasn't going to gawk at her, but because he had actually spoken to her, unlike every one else in the place. She grunted in reply, but she smirked as she lay on the cot in her prison uniform, something that didn't look at all flattering on her form. She knew then he was different from the others. How he was exactly, she wasn't sure, but she knew now he was as she waited for her third meal, woken up for breakfast, lunch, and then dinner, quite meger meals of hardtack and sometimes things she couldn't indentify on her plate.

Evaryan knew he would be chewed out if anyone ever found out he had talked to her, even if it was one tiny little word.
This land was strict and people got killed for smaller things. But still he couldn't help but look in at her food and frown
"That doesn't look very tasty." He said, trying to make conversation. Well, he had done it. Even this small sentence, if anyone found out- he could be killed. But, for some reason he felt like; she wasn't a bad person. He could tell, it was just the aura she gave off.

She looked down at the rather sad looking tray of food that a guard had just given to her, and sighed as she picked up a biscut that was as hard a rock. "You have no idea..." She muttered then, taking a drink of the water, which at least wasn't the one bad thing on her tray, and let out a sated breath as it went down her throat, wonderng why this guard was suddenly talking to her when none of the others did, her long brown curly hair hanging past her shoulders in a mess. She could feel the man's eyes on her again, and she didn't look at him, a thing she wasn't allowed to do with the guards or anyone else while she was their prisoner. She wondered what this guard's name was as she picked at the food on her tray, which really had no taste at all and wasn't even cooked that well. She wondered if this new guard of hers had ever been in a prison before for whatever reason, not even touching the biscut on her tray.

He looked down. "Maybe I can sneak you some bread tomorrow." He said quietly.
And then he started beating himself up. "What the **** are you doing! You're a guard, you don't talk to the prisoners and you most defiantly dont offer them food! Are you an idiot, insane, do you want to bee killed!" He thought.
He ignored the thoughts and stood there, not looking at her but keeping his eyes on the ground. If Elly was here, she would be laughing at him. Elly his late best friend who got him into the idea of being a guard. But she had died in a fire that killed her whole family. A wave of pain hit his chest thinking of her, but he didn't show any emotion.

Again he surprised her as she forced down her lame meal. "Um...Thankyou, but no...I wouldn't want you to get in trouble or worse for helping me..." She didn't mention the fact that he was already in hot water for talking to her. "You know you aren't supposed to talk to me right?" She asked quietly, setting her tray on the floor in front of her cell door like she was supposed to before returning to her cot, laying down on the bed and starring up at the dark brown ceiling.

"Yes, I know." He said, slightly reassured she hadn't accepted his offer. He brushed his hair back slightly because it was getting in the way of his eyes. "But, i've never really been one for rules." He said, trying to sound tough. But he was sure the act wasn't working, he had only just passed the training course to become a guard because his father was a friend of the training chief, who trained all the new guards. He kept frowning, trying to act as if he knew what he was doing. But someone had told him that he heard Eva was only here so he would be out of the way, and he believed him.
