    The Red Banner (Aussie & Jannah)

    Remember us, Fatherland...
    Not all of us will return.

    1941:

    Hitler's European Empire now dominates most of mainland Europe, save the Soviet Union, Britain, and other neutral countries. They are on the brink of victory, but, have suffered a critical blow over the cliffs of Dover, and the Reich is looking for redemption. The Soviet Union, whom Germany signed a non-aggression pact with just two years prior, seems like a fitting target. Her armies are not prepared, and after what happened with Finland in the Winter War, all they have to do is to kick the door in and the whole rotten structure will collapse. The Soviet Union also has much of the desperately needed supplies Germany requires to supply her massive army.

    0315. Sunday. June 22. The Wehrmacht bombs Polish cities and formally enters the Soviet Union under Unternehmen Barbarossa. The Red Army, whom expected an invasion to begin in 1942, are caught off guard. They are swarmed under the stress.

    August 1st, 1941. The tide of the Battle of Smolensk is beginning to turn, and the Fascists begin to near Moscow. We are soldiers of the 45th Infantry Regiment, part of the 32nd Army, a hastily raised infantry regiment, formed of conscripts and veterans soldiers.

    Note: Our weapons will be little more than a Mosin Nagant, a bayonet, and two RGD-33s.

    Name: Nikolai Sokolov
    Age: 18
    Appearance:

    Rank: Private
    Biography:
    Nikolai Solokov was born to a Red Army officer and his wife in Arkhangelsk after he returned from the Polish-Soviet War. He was their only child, and, for Soviet standards, was practically spoiled. His mother was always home, and his father always provided for them. In school, he excelled in history and science, and he was recommended for an intellectual path. He and his parents were immensely happy by this, and his father arranged for him to begin studies in Moscow at the age of 17. Nikolai was sent off in the summer of 1940.

    After the semester began, the war began to really hit home for him. He took a more active role in observing it, and he feared a German invasion of Russia. When they did, in fact, invade, he was drafted into the Red Army while he was on the university's campus, given a weeks training, and sent off to war.

    Pulled into war to serve a vision;
    That's supposed to last a thousand years.
    Part of a machine;
    Unstoppable, as merciless as tidal waves.
