You know I've actually never pursued 1x1 roleplay, even though I've done it for nearly a decade now (though usually those 1x1's grew into 3-4 man group roleplays). So you know I'll throw up what Gowi wants right here in the blissful purgatory of a forum. I'd qualify myself as a high casual to low advanced writer and to quote a friend of mine:
"Advanced roleplaying should focus on developing interesting and complex characters that become part of plot-lines which catch the imagination and inspire the writer behind them to exercise creativity. It is mature, humorous, imaginative, tragic, terrifying, passionate, and rife with descriptive language and characters with real personality and relatable cares. Quality posting is far better than needless novels, yet one should never neglect detail when one feels the need. However, while word and paragraph requirements ought to be unnecessary, single paragraphs cannot contain enough detail to suffice."
RULES
I. We are writers and I do treat writing with some form of integrity, however I am not the best at grammar and have/will make mistakes. I just ask for partners who care about the integrity of art/literature over chat/inconsequential fun. I have fun in a way I build a story, it's characters, and things revolving in the setting.
II. Another quote:
"Power-gaming, god-moding and meta-gaming. Nothing ruins a scenario faster than invincible characters that can’t be harmed and conquer every challenge without breaking a sweat. That’s dull. Don’t be dull. Don’t control what my character does or if we’re in the middle of conflict presume your attack hit my character. Meta knowledge of plot is another way to quickly sour a plot. Characters do not know everything about their universe nor do they possess your inside knowledge. I understand the concept of “Genre Savvy” and find that sort of a character entertaining, but don’t go over the edge."
III. I don't do Romance as a plot or genre, I love interactions and character development. I have tons of it, but I never go into a roleplay with the focus of it being a relatively uninspiring love story. If I want one it will build out of another plot and make sense.
IV. Roleplays will be PREFERABLY threads in this section or on skype, as I have a weird PM anxiety.
V. We are generally adults so our themes will reflect what we want to do, I'm not big on caring about taboo's, but being informed of taboo themes will probably be a must if we venture there in roleplay.

I think the best way to start off is going into fandoms and then go into generalizations after, so without further ado here is what I generally like and will roleplay without a thought.
Avatar: The Last Airbender / The Legend of Korra
Digimon
Battlestar Galactica | The original, however I'd like it to be re-imagining with that in mind. I believe Moore haphazardly handled the source material.
DC or MARVEL COMICS | I'm a rather moderate comics fan and of course have my own ideas.
Dragon Age: Origins
Dragonball
Fallout | I have a lot of fan lore for New Vegas and I love the universe.
Full Metal Alchemist
Game of Thrones / A Song of Ice & Fire
Mass Effect | including a "forty-years later" plot I've begin to craft, but I'll work with anything from before the First Contact War to Mass Effect 3.
My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic
Pokemon | The spin I take on this one traditionally is interesting, but I don't care about playing it traditional.
Sonic the Hedgehog | I will do traditional, but I have a HUGE extended universe I can only call a different reality that has 10 years of work on it.
Star Wars | including Extended Universe I have knowledge on, I even have some concepts tooled up for re-imaginings.
Super Mario | I should warn those that I have a re-imagining of this as well, and it's not... traditional Super Mario at all.
The Elder Scrolls | I have a lot of characters organized for TES: Skyrim era, especially.
The Legend of Zelda
More on Fandoms if people ask or I remember!

I'm a melting pot of a genre fanatic and this can get pretty ridiculous. I adore "soft" science fiction that covers space westerns, space operas, space pulp, etc. I'm no scientist so I don't do the best when I'm thrown into "hard" science fiction. I'm open to anything once, however and will try for my best if I'm immersed well. But moving on my favorite genres are:
Space Opera
Pulp Sci-Fi
Dark Fantasy
Western
Noir
Post-Apocalyptic
Dystopian Science Fiction
Survival Horror
Psychological Horror
Superhero Fiction
Crime Drama
Crime Thriller
Anime-thematic Adventure

Original World's I've designed:
CREED - noir/adventure/fantasy | inspired by Angel, Yu Yu Hakusho, Devil May Cry, and Sin City.
DAMNATION - dark fantasy/western | inspired by gothic horror aspects and gritty revisionist westerns and neo-westerns.
DRIVEN FROM SANITY - horror/post-apoc | World goes to hell; and demons overrun the world, people try to live or die. May be merged or deleted!
EVOLUTION - superhero | inspired by DC and Marvel Comics.
FATAL SOULS - non-fantasy/medieval | Similar to Game of Thrones, but is still in working stages. Political war, etc.
GALAXIES - science fiction | inspired by space opera, high fantasy adventure, and space westerns.
HOLLOW STONE - post-apoc/survival | anthropomorphic, inspired by aspects of Fallout, The Last Postman, and Mad Max.
HAVEN - horror/survival | influenced by Resident Evil and the Walking Dead; a zombie-fiction story.
THE NETWORK - cyberpunk/dystopia | influenced by Tron, Bladerunner, and Reboot. A story set in a parallel world of computers and the internet.
THE PIT - horror/survival | psychological horror influenced by Silent Hill and The Suffering.
SENGIA - fantasy/adventure | anthropomorphic, inspired by anime thematics and Sonic the Hedgehog.
Any questions?
