Mass Effect: Fire on Paradise (Gowi + Dubwarlock) [OOC]

This is a private RP between Gowi (myself) and Dubwarlock, note that and that this is a ongoing worldbuilding roleplay. I AM developing a GROUP roleplay in this setting, so be patient if you ARE interested!

It has been forty-four years since the galaxy fought the deepest horror from dark space, the Reapers. The galaxy is a different place today, but not always for the better. Heroes like Kira Shepard, David Anderson, Kaiden Alenko, and James Vega are gone. This is a different and new era, but who will be remembered?

    A Brief History

In 2186, Commander Kira Shepard fought overwhelming odds and death itself as she fought against the invading forces of the Reapers. She had warned the first and second council about their imminent arrival and they only ignored such perilous warnings. She and her former commanding officer, Admiral David Anderson faced the infamous Illusive Man, Jack Harper, who had been indoctrinated by the reaper known as Harbinger. The catalyst was ready afterward, but Shepard and Anderson found themselves injured and on the brink of death. They activated the device before both of them fell to unconsciousness with Shepard's mania showed her the one thing she refused to allow: failure. Fortunately, this was not so. The catalyst sent out a reaper-specific signal that used the relays to shut down and emit a destructive protocol. The reaper fleet then shut down, exploded, and the war ended there. Allied forces boarded the Citadel soon after this amazing victory and soon found the two dying heroes, as such they attempted to rush them to intensive care. Admiral Anderson did not make it, Shepard was in a comatose state for weeks.

"Once you've had so many near-death experiences in the course of a decade of service, there is an amount of energy that is taken away, there is an aura that is no longer there. I feel accomplished for what we did against the reapers, but I'm done, done shooting people and getting shot at. I'm ready for something... else. This citadel sits above us and we need it, I truly think this. There will be a new government and I think the next step in my career is one I should of offered my friend and mentor, Admiral David Anderson, from the start. This is my retirement, but my voice is not gone."

    - Commander Kira Shepard, 2186
Kira Shepard left her N7 and Spectre status behind her as she heralded the beginning of a new age and she did so as she established the third citadel council. When everything was set in motion the council ruled on the first thing on everyone's minds; the remains of the reaper's. Each member of the council of four saw what reaper technology had done to them, through good and bad. However, the blatant possibility of tampering with the devices could bring some semblance of a rebirth of an enemy that they never wished to fight on any front ever again. They ruled that all reaper technology was to be left dormant and all research regarding it as unlawful and punishable as a crime against all races. The remnants of technological advancement firms and organizations yelled protest and some like the Union for the Advancement of Galactic Races, the remnants of Ceberus, and other similarly aligned organizations attempted to appeal to overturn the decision.

With the Citadel repaired, maintained, and with a stable political power it began it's resurgence for good. The council starts a mid-term plan for spiritual successors to the SSV Normandy. Several light frigates under the designation CSV or Citadel Spectre Vessel. When this fleet is completed the council reinstates their Spectre program. Following this the council sends a representative to the planet of Turvess to tell the Raloi people that the reaper threat has passed and the galaxy has repaired to the point where they could travel and advance safely. By 2200, the galaxy was stable for the first time in fourteen years or at least in part it was. The Batarian Hegemony was tattered in pieces and the survival of their people was even worse, with most believing the Batarian people to go extinct in the near future. This stirred a paranoia and hatred in batarian's against synthetics as they strive to find ways to fix their supposed fate. Like the infamous krogan warlord, Okeer, the batarian race begin to look into the fields of genetic science to save themselves. Then there is the ever growing and noticeable Krogan Empire with it's clan leaders taking the charge under Urdnot Wrex to make a better life for their people. This would be sixteen years before Kira Shepard would retire from the galaxy for the second time, this time the last and final instance as she disappeared from the galactic limelight.

Fast forward to the present date of 2231. Trouble is stirring in the Krogan Empire as Weyrloc Tahg and his allies look to the present state of the Krogan Empire; Urdnot Wrex has been a diplomat as he has not expanded large enough for the time-span within Weyrloc Tahg's belief, coupled with the allowed entrance of colonial drell to Tuchanka in 2224. By the mid-galactic year Weyrloc Tahg enforced him and his allies upon the galaxy and broke krogan law by invading the planet Turvess. Urdnot Wrex declares Tahg and his allies as "false krogan" and such begins a new conflict... The Galactic Krogan Civil War. As the Urdnot and Weyrloc empires fight each other the galaxy quivers in the conflict so soon after the reaper threat and many systems increase defense spending. Now the citadel council will have to decide how to approach this new conflict and how to end it in the galaxy's favor....

    New Factions

After forty-four years of galactic advancement there has to be new factions, they are listed below for referential purposes and will get updated periodically until I feel they are complete.

    The Krogan Empire(s)

There is two Krogan "Empires" and they are very much a constant force in the galaxy. The original Krogan Empire was established in 2186 by Urdnot Wrex and they had an equivalent of thirty years before it split into two. Today we have the Urdnot Empire and the Weyrloc Empire; the former believing in adherence to galactic law, cultural growth, and cooperation while the latter takes to an imperialistic belief of conquest, chaos, and antagonistic pressure. Naturally, progressive krogan philosophies versus traditional ones. A small sect of Drell are part of the Urdnot Empire.

    The Oligarchy of Rannoch

Like the Conclave of the Quarian Migrant Fleet, the "newly" formed Oligarchy of Rannoch is a union between the geth and the quarian races centralized on the planet of Rannoch. The Legion is a cooperative dual-government of the Quarian Conclave and the Geth Legion provide democratic decisions.

    The Raloi Theocracy

The "new" race, the Raloi are from the planet Turvess. Explorers from Raloi are generally mandated and allowed expedition by the church of which controls Raloi. They are the least advanced of the galaxy, even after thirty years of being open to the galactic market. The Raloi Theocracy, or the Raloi church controls it's people with honor but with discrete caution due to the several uprisings it has had in it's planet's history.
