Aela, Night Lands, NG1.
Aela walked through the graveyard. The Night Lands were not place for a human to dwell. It was a dark night. No matter how high the sun stood, it was always night around these parts. Something to do with ancient Daemon magic, if I remember correctly. Aela thought. Mist was hanging low enough to touch the stones. Aela was looking for a certain someone. Though she could not remember who, neither why. Yet she was drawn ever closer to the center of the graveyard.
Aela stood in front of a building. In the graveyard there were many. Some people apparently deserved more than a stone. Aela tried to open the door, but it was locked. Somehow, she knew that what, or who, she was searching for was on the other side. Aela slid the dagger out of it's sheath and tried to pry the door open. It did not give in to her efforts. Aela started to walk around the building. To see if there was another entrance. When she got to the back, she heard a squeaky noise. That's from the front door... Aela thought as chills ran down her spine. I hate graveyards... She walked back to the front.
The door was open. She pushed it to make sure she would fit though the entrance. She looked inside. No one, nothing. Not even a grave. Just an empty room. She walked further into the room. Suddenly the door closed, dust fell on Aela and she coughed. She turned around. "That is just perfect..." Aela mumbled as she tried to get the door open. It was locked again. "Don't worry. We will not be using that entrance for now." A childish, girly voice spoke. Aela's heart missed a beat. She turned around and saw a little girl standing in the room. A gap had opened in the floor. The girl was holding a little rabbit doll. "Who... Who are you?" Aela asked. "People call me the Mad Rabbit." The girl replied. "Come, follow me." The Mad Rabbit said as she jumped down the hole. Aela walked forward, slowly. She looked down the hole. I can't even see the bottom... She thought. "Are you coming?" The Mad Rabbit asked. Aela jumped into the hole, as if the girl's voice had order her to do so.
Aela landed on a soft, pink pillow. She was standing in a living room. It was nice and cozy. Little candle lights lit up the room. There were many colors and pieces of art. A closet filled with books. The Mad Rabbit walked into another room. She brought back a tea set and sat down at the table. "Come, sit. The others will arrive soon." Aela turned her head to look at the hole she had fallen through as she walked towards the table. It was gone. She sat down. The Mad Rabbit poured tea into a cute white cup with pink symbols on it. Where the hell am I?! Aela thought as she picked up the cup and drank the tea.
Brennon, The Holy Empire, EC1.
Brennon walked through the city. He had just come down from the mountains. Somewhere in those mountains all of his hideouts were hidden. He knew little of the world beyond those places, and cared little to know. But today he was down in the city. He needed food, and the best way to get it is to steal. He walked down the market place as he chose his targets. An apple here, a bread there. If he only took small amounts when no one was looking, he would not be found out. That much he had learned. However, something went wrong this time. "Thief!" A person behind Brennon yelled. Knowing he was found out, he ran.
Brennon was small enough to blend in easily and slip through alleys and little openings in walls. It had saved him from the guards. Brennon was breathing heavily as he leaned against the wall of the alley he had entered. He looked around. That is strange... He thought as he could not see an entrance. He turned around to see where he had come from, but he saw no opening there either. "Don't worry. We won't be using that entrance to leave. Here, we'll be using this one." A girlish voice behind him said. Brennon turned around to see the Mad Rabbit. "I'm the Mad Rabbit. Now, please jump down this hole." Then the figure of the Mad Rabbit disappeared. It had been an illusion. Off course, Brennon did not know what an illusion was. He had never met a mage before. Only heard stories. He stepped towards the hole, and jumped in.
Brennon landed on a soft pillow. It was pink. He looked around and found himself inside a cozy room. Candles lit up the colorful room filled with art. He looked up. Yet again his entrance had disappeared. Standing up he noticed the Mad Rabbit and a third person in the room. They were sitting at a table. Brennon walked towards the table and sat down. He to received a cup of tea. In silence he drank it.
