The Popular Life: Spring Break (IC)

    Warning: Mature themes are present.

    ((OOC is here.))

From outside, the muffled sound of house music and dubstep and its beats pulsated from a lit house in the distance. The Ricci household, or perhaps mansion, was rather secluded. It was one of those houses that had a very long driveway and the actual house was a good ways off from the main road of the neighborhood. A few cars had lined up along the long driveway, a few were out on the street, and other people still had walked to the house because they themselves didn’t live too far away.

In fact, that’s exactly what Jack Slater was doing. He had told his mom that he was going over to his friend Alan’s house for a sleepover that night. He was walking down the dimly lit street beside his friend with a grin plastered on his face, mainly for two reasons: it was spring break and also because it was the first real party in a long time. Jack was wearing his lucky shoes, some black midcalves, dark gold shorts, and a black Underarmour shirt. He hadn’t left his hoodie at home, although it was hot and humid out that particular night. He had a gym bag hanging from his back containing that hoodie, his cell phone, and a single can of Bud Light which had been sitting in his room, hidden, for a while and he thought he’d might as well bring it along so it didn't go to waste.

Jack had first heard of this party from his friend on the lacrosse team. He had said that nearly all of popular crowd at Knight, as well as some students from the local private schools, were invited and that everyone could bring friends, as long as they could be trusted. Jack decided it'd be cool to go with a friend to the party and asked his newest friend, Alan, if he wanted to come, not too sure if he himself had been invited or not. Thankfully, everything had worked out and they had made the plan to sneak away from their respective homes and head over to the Ricci house, the parents of which, apparently, had left on business and entrusted it to their son Wesley, who was one of the biggest partiers in school. He was so confident in the party that he said everyone could sleep there.

Jack came to the beginning of the long driveway, now thankful that he didn’t live too far away from Wesley. He turned to Alan as he walked. “The Ricci’s have an awesome house,” he told him. “They have a pool table and bar and an in-home movie theater in their basement… There’s a big kitchen on the middle floor and they have a living room with a huge plasma screen TV and an Xbox. Upstairs they got… well bedrooms. It’s pretty sick. I heard there's a lot of people coming.” He laughed lightheartedly. “Are you nervous or something?” he asked.

((I hope you all followed my advice and tried to find someone to start out with! I'll be doing an intro for Victoria a little later.))

A Mustang roared beside Jack and Alan as Mike flew down the driveway. He had told his mom he was going and didnt know when he'd get back. With all luck he'd get wasted and fight a hot girl. He sling the car into a parking spot and climbed out the sunroof pulling his shirt off and screaming "Wahooooo."

Alan sighed slightly as he looked down to his phone. A text from his Mom read “Hope u are having fun at your frieds” Alan hadn’t had to lie all that much. He had simply said he was visiting a friend, and that he would be staying over. His parents had been completely ok with it, as they constantly were urging him to go “hang with the guys”, much to Alan’s dismay. Although he got along with some people, like Jack, for the most part, he wasn’t often interested in “making new friends.” But he couldn’t pass up an opportunity like this. This was his chance, to get out of the boring life of the average high school student, and he fully intended to capitalize on it.

He smiled slightly as Jack listed off all the features of the Ricci’s house. It did sound pretty epic. And it was Spring Break! He couldn’t spend it hidden away in his home, singing to himself. Still, the prospect of meeting a bunch of people he knew, but who had never heard of him, was less than endearing. Still, Jack wasn’t so bad, he had even invited him, so there was some shred of hope. He was shaken out of his thought process a few seconds after Jack’s question.

“Nervous? Err… slightly. Ok. A fair amount.” Alan said as he zipped and un-zipped his hoodie. His mind was abuzz. Barely anyone he knew would be there. The more he thought about it, the more he regretted coming. No. He would enjoy it. This was important for him. He looked over to Jack. “Alright. A lot. But I mean, how bad could it be?” He said with a nervous laugh and a shrug.

He was promptly scared out of his skin as a care flew past them. He jumped back, and froze for a moment. “I’m cool. We’re all good.” He muttered to himself as they continued walking.

Jerick pulled up to the curb in his black Acura that he got as a present for becoming a senior. Pop music could be heard from the inside as he parked the car and pulled out his iPhone. Hailey and Bailey, twin cheerleaders, accompanied him to the party. Jerick went on Twitter and updated his status:
Just arrived at Wesley's party! It's gonna be so sick! xx
The twins giggled as they updated their Facebook, then taking selfies to put on their Instagrams. "Let's go girls!" All three of them were still in their cheerio uniforms because they had just came from practice. The cheer captain would be arriving late. Jerick and the twins got out of the car and walked up the driveway, seeing several people already arriving. He looked up at the house and dropped his jaw. "Oh my god, his house is so cool. I heard he has like a theatre room, a pool, and everything," he told the twins. "That's so cool!" Both the twins spoke in unison. Jerick popped his gum that he was chewing as they walked up the driveway looking down at their phones to see who replied to their statuses. Jerick and the rest of his friends were social networking junkies and they didn't know what life would be like without it.

Jack had jumped back as well as the Mustang veered past him, giving entrance to a boy who tore off his shirt immediately. Jack laughed after he had recovered from the shock. He himself wasn't the kind of person who partied like that; he preferred to socialize more, but people like that always made the party interesting. He turned back to Alan. "You just need to loosen up," he advised. He stopped for a moment and pulled open the top of his gym bag and looked around quickly. "Here," he said, pulling out the Bud Lite can which had gotten wrapped up with his hoodie. He handed it to Alan with a smile. "Have you ever drunk before?" he asked, stopping to think if it was 'drinked' or 'drunk.' He shook the idea out of his head. He was more concerned about Alan's answer. "It's a bit warm," he added, chuckling. "But it could help you calm down."

Jack was careful when introducing someone to alcohol. He always made sure they were okay with it and he wouldn't force it. But if they were completely new to the concept, he always got a little worried. Sometimes you don't know how people act under the influence; they can become totally different people. Most people just become more relaxed and go into a drunken stupor, but you never know.

Off in the distance, a splash and some cheering could be heard as someone, Jack assumed, was either pushed into the pool or had done some kind of dive or flip. Unfortunately, Jack hadn't thought to bring a bathing suit. That was stupid, he knew the Ricci's had a pool. Oh well, it's not like he'd have to swim. Nor would he need a bathing suit to go swimming.

Christina had just finished doing her makeup at her vanity when her phone started buzzing, picking it up her brown eyes read a text from one of her fellow cheerleaders asking what she was wearing to Wesley's party. With her phone in head she got up from her seat and stood in front of one of the many mirrors she had in her room, taking a photo of herself she immediately sent the pic to Heather. After practice Christina had decided to go home and freshen up before the party. It had been a hastened process as she was so pumped to get to the party and be back with all her friends she had gotta ready in record time.

Grabbing her laptop up off the floor where it had been charging she sat down on her bed and went out checking everything, her facebook, twitter, instragram and tumblr. She saw Jerick's status on twitter and groaned loudly, 'I'm missing everything' she thought to herself as she pouted taking up her cell phone that had just started vibrating. Heather had complimented her outfit as well as sent her a pic of hers. Christina smiled texting her back telling her how much she loved her choice and told her to be ready because she would be there in five. Shutting off her laptop Christina grabbed all her necessitates putting them in her bag then she rushed out of her bedroom. Running down the spiral marble staircase Christina went straight to the kitchen "Gracie am leaving. If my parents asked tell them I went over to friends and I'll probably be late. If anything I'll call," her words spewed out as she gave Grace the family cook her message for her parents. Grace nodded "I'll be sure to let them know Ms.Valentine. Please be careful and try not to have to much fun." Christina laughed "Grace its spring break. My only mission is fun" she said was a smile before turning and leaving the kitchen and her house.

Walking outside to where she had parked her Mercedes outside her house she tossed her bag to the backseat and turned on car. Turning on the radio she drove off from her house and made her way to Heather's place. After picking up the blonde cheerio Christina stepped on the gas speeding down the streets until she made it to Wesley's place. Not knowing how crazy this party was going to be she parked her baby a block away from the party, she wasn't risking some drunken idiot messing with her ride. Climbing out of the car she grabbed her bag and walked up to party with Heather as they talked and networked the whole way up.

"You just need to loosen up," Jack said as they approached the house. Alan nodded several times. “You’re probably right.” Still, he occasionally looked behind himself, just in case a car passed. Alan stopped as Jack handed him the can of beer. "But it could help you calm down." He said. Alan shook his head slightly, smiling ruefully. “I’ve never drunk before. I should be good for now. Thanks though.” Alan handed back the can to Jack. Although he wasn’t forcefully against the idea of drinking, he was very fervent about keeping in control of his own body and actions. He wasn’t about to go and screw himself over by acting like a total tool after overestimating himself.

Another fancy car went flying into the parking lot. Alan took a moment to lament his position. He had an old junker, which was nothing compared to some of the rides these people had. He resolved to tell everyone he did not possess a vehicle, as he deemed the embarrassment would be much less. He sighed as he saw a bunch of cheerleaders pile out of car, a bit louder than he had intended. Although he was willing to try and get along with others, something about cheerleaders aggravated him to no end. Or at least, the stereotypical ones, which Scott A. Knight was filled to the brim with. Still, he refrained from making an underhanded comment to Jack.

Jack nodded. At least Alan had some sense. If this party did get busted, he'd be the one who wouldn't get a citation. "I completely understand, no worries dude," he said, opening it himself, still looking around. It would've been better if he had a red plastic cup or something to make the drinking less obvious, just in case, but he resolved that risks were at a minimum, at least for now. He covered the label with his grip and took a quick sip. In all honesty, Jack didn't find any beer tasty; the carbonation was probably the part he enjoyed most.

The approached the front door, which was wide open, and Jack looked inside. There were a few people milling around, talking, playing on the Xbox in the living room, kissing, and of course, drinking from the traditional red plastic cups, though a few cans and bottles littered the floor as well. Upon stepping inside, a few friends of Jack shouted to him in greeting. He was about to walk over and join then, but then he remembered Alan. He had been to parties with a friend before where he barely knew the people. There was no worse feeling than getting abandoned. Jack figured it would be best to get Alan settled in, maybe find him a girl, and then he could go off and do what he wanted.

"Let's head down to the basement," he called to Alan over the blare of the music and general bustle of the house. "It's a bit more relaxed down there." He lead him through the sea of people to a flight of stairs that lead down into the basement where a few people were sitting on couches, drinking and talking. Some people were walking in and out of another area on the far side of the room, which was the in-home theater.

"Jack... Slater!" came a female's voice from one of the couches. A darker-skinned girl stood up from the couch and sauntered over to him, red cup in hand. Jack groaned quietly.

"Hi Victoria," he said indifferently, taking an innocent from his can. Victoria grinned.

"It's been a while," she said, a seductive tone beginning to surface in her voice. She wasn't drunk... at least, not yet.

"What do you want?" Jack inquired, wanting to skip right to the point. Victoria giggled and looked past him.

"Who's your friend?" she asked. "He looks fami— Oh! I know you! Umm, wait, Alan? Yes! Alan! You had Chem with me and Jack last semester!"

Jack grinned, liking where this was going. Sober Victoria was promiscuous enough. "Should I leave you two alone...?" he asked, taking a step back.

Alan let out a sigh of relief as Jack told him it was cool. He was willing to receive flak for not wanting to drink, but if he didn’t have to, he wasn’t going to invite it. They entered the giant house, and Alan was immediately overwhelmed by the breadth of people. He recognized a few, though he doubted they would recognize him. Still, he was hopeful. He saw Jack say hello to a few friends, and was worried for a moment that he would be left behind, however, Jack seemed to realize the same thing. He followed Jack as they fought through the sea of people, only to arrive in the basement of Wesley’s home. They walked into a sort of theater, where Jack was greeted by a friend of his. Victoria. He recognized her, from chem, just as she recognized him. She was rather nice, though she seemed to be rather different now that she was at a party and out of school. She and Jack seemed to have some history, though Alan didn’t care all that much.

"Should I leave you two alone...?" Jack said as he stepped backwards. “Err… you don’t have to go, by any means.” Alan said as casually as he could. Still, he could see Jack slowly backing away, and sighed. He was on his own. At least it was with someone he mildly knew. “Hi there.” He said with a hint of a smile. “Your name’s Victoria, right? Wesley’s got a pretty nice place.” Alan was still rather overwhelmed with all the people and going-ons, but he tried his best not to show it.
