The city of New Tokai is the latest Sankoku'an city to be affected by the spreading waves of undead. Sankoku was once the most powerful military nation on the planet Kaikyuu, but since been overrun by the undead. The Army has given up on holding every city and instead has sent squads out focused on killing as many of the Kyonshi (their name for the zombies) as possible. The surviving citizens are living on the air force's flying battleships, converted into large aerial colonies.
Mia and Renji are on the ground, fighting together as a group of two against the Kyonshi after their squad was wiped out. Their goal is to defeat the Kyonshi and rescue any holdouts in the ruined city before returning to the airship they were dispatched from.
Note: This will be MxF military/sci-fi romance. Mia and Renji are engaged, but the wedding was "delayed" by the zombie apocalypse.

History: Mia was given a mostly-mechanical body after she was wounded by an explosion in a previous war. She was given a position protecting the Supreme Commander, accompanied by her fiance, Lt. Renji Matsujima.
Personality: Mia does not like talking about her past, as it tends to ruin her otherwise cheery mood. In her early years she was somewhat shy, but Renji helped her to be more outgoing. She occasionally goes "yangire" (psycho mode) if her processing core malfunctions. But this is very rare. It's only happened once, when she thought the Supreme Commander died.
Strengths: Mia can act as a tank character. Due to her machine body, she can wield heavy weapons such as anti-tank rifles and miniguns effortlessly. She is often seen with her signature "Death Machine" minigun when in combat. She also wields a pair of .50 cal AE magnum pistols as sidearms. She is nearly bulletproof due to the material her skin and suit are made from.
Weaknesses: Her synthetic skin and suit, although mostly bulletproof, cannot stand up against blades and explosions - or zombie claws/teeth. And her signature weapons have some problems- the Death Machine isn't accurate at long ranges and has heavy recoil. Also, the magnums each only carry 5 bullets a clip, leading to constant reloading. She's also very squeamish, as shown in zombie RPs where she can't psychologically handle fighting zombies up close. She also would commit suicide if Renji died or was turned into a zombie. She is prone to being hacked or EMP'd and such due to her mechanical body.

History: Renji has worn many hats in his life, so to speak. He's been a political assassin, a private military contractor, and has now returned to the army. He was there when Mia was blown up, and later met her again after she got her machine body. They're still in love to this day, and they've gotten engaged. They plan to get married when the current war is over. He's now Mia's partner protecting Kit from any danger they may encounter.
Personality: He's practical, and sometimes too blunt. He sometimes comes across as a jerk or a hard-ass for it. But in reality he's a nice guy if you get to know him. He worries about Mia a lot, knowing she's depressed about losing her humanity.
Strengths: Renji is a ranged-attack character, and skilled with a bolt-action rifle. He was trained both as a marksman and a sniper at various times. His aim is legendary. He's also a good planner, something he learned from his days as an assassin.
Weaknesses: He's so blunt sometimes that people think he's rude. Also, he isn't good with automatic weapons or melee fighting. He's very protective of Mia, to the point of recklessness. He also doesn't always get along with the Supreme Commander.

Basically it starts like this: Mia and Renji slept in a tent on the roof of a barricaded building. They wake up, and after a while, head down to the tank they have parked nearby, but it's surrounded by zombies.
