[Whispers]

Dusk stood in the shadows of a nearby building, watching the scene before him. He had already felt the tiger-like young hero before he had jumped down with fancy acrobatics, so he wasn't too surprised. Frowning in contemplation, Dusk shrugged and walked towards the trio, only stopping when the kid fell to the ground suddenly. He looked around calmly for a second, and then continued his short walks towards them.

Standing just beside the two, and the downed one, Dusk was hidden neatly in the shadows.

Now, all there was to do was watch.

Seeing as he had come out to check without thinking to don his disguise, there wasn't much Kent could do as the scene unfolded before him, lest he risk revealing his secret identity.

"Hey, are you a shopkeep? Do you think you could lend us a few items so I can perform a surgery? Listen very closely...I need tweezers, high proof alcohol, sewing needle, baby wipes, cotton swabs and sewing string. can you get that all that for me?

"Oh, um... yes, but we deal in electronics. I might have some of that in the bathroom though."

After he'd finished his response, Nitro made his strange getaway.

"I... guess you don't need that stuff any more?" Kent said hesitantly.

Artemis let out a sigh, and put her bow and arrow over her back. This night was horribly boring. It was the same routine over and over again. She tapped her chin with an arrow as she saw a couple. She put her arrow down and pulled her bow back out and pulled the bowstring back. She was ready to shoot them. They knew they curfew. She let the bow string go back to original shape arrow still notched. She let out a hmm and heading away. She would just have to report to her father that there was a speedster hero. One of the most dangerous. Then there was the creepy shadow dude. He could be useful to them. She let out a laugh and kept on with her patrol. She walked along the roof tops. The city was a dump, no one even tried to clean it up any more.

Artemis thought as she went patrolling. She knew this tyrannic rule would end soon. There was no way, the good guys always win that was something that she had noticed. The good guys always won. But this time they didn't. The world was under villain rule and honestly it felt pretty good.

Hanging his head low, sighing deeply showing displease at his failed attempt."What a pointless effort that all turned out to be, in the end he got away...So, what's your story?" He then paused, turning sights to the hooded one. "You have to admit a dark hooded individual prowling alleys at night ranks pretty high on the suspicion scale, even fewer seem to have the ability to pull people to their oblivion, you some kind of anti-hero? Well, I may not agree with your methods, but what you did tonight will not go unappreciated. The persecution against heroes is a cause of great concern.

" About that guy...I wouldn't worry too much, I only gave him a sleep anesthetic because I thought he might escape which was exactly what happened. He'll be up in a hour or so. His injuries aren't life threatening which is good, but if he don't get his arm checked out, he's gonna be minus an arm due to gangrene infection. "

No, I'm mistaken afterall, he's still here...I just didn't pick up on his scent for some reason. He's definitely on the other side of that wall. I'll go pick up some materials from the hospital up the street, could someone retrieve the body? Time is of the essence. He then bursted up the the length of the wall, using the momentum of the sprint to leap himself over and onto the rooftop structure above, using a grapple device to hook across from the McNider hospital , he walked along the length of the tightrope, parkouring himself across to the other end, he then slipped inside an open window in the emergency ward.


After what felt like 5 minutes or so, he exited back out from the window, making his way back to alleyway the same way he came. He returned carrying a bag of sorts. "So, where is he?"

He couldn't stand anymore. For a superspeedster, that was probably the worst feeling in the world. Laughing, jumping, running were all things that Nitro relished in. Being unable to do any of them made him uneasy and nervous. Individual voices faded into one blurred sound, almost like static. And he felt tired. That in itself was strange since the ability of superspeed gave him a few... undesirable side affects. For one, his metabolism accelerated to keep up with the insane amount of running he did. And to keep up with that and rapidly send signals to cells in his body, his brain accelerated as well. Which meant is was incredibly difficult for him to rest easy and fall asleep. To put it simply, Nitro suffered from a severe form of insomnia. He usually felt tired but this felt like he was seconds from falling asleep. Nitro inhaled and exhaled a few times then gave into the exhaustion produced by the drug and running around for most of the night. Hopefully he would wake up and find himself in the exact same place. Clinging onto that hope, he closed his eyes and slept.

Artemis leapt onto the building where Nitro currently slept. And she wasn't alone. Several darkly clad characters. "There all down in the alley. Capture but do not kill, they could have useful info about other heroes. Now go," Artemis said gesturing with her hands. They all ran and started planning an attack. She would watch from inside this building. Watching their skills and how they progressed. She found a small opening in the roof and dropped down onto a rafter. Leaping from rafter to rafter she reached the bottom rafter and jumped. She landed rather hard sending pain up and down her spine. But then she heard something. The quite breathing of some one sleeping. She turn to look for the source and saw Nitro.

The drug-induced sleep offered up no dreams, only darkness. His heart rate had slowed down a considerable rate but it was still above the average heart beat of a normal person. Normally, his metabolism worked lightning fast and anything that he consumed soon left his system. But the drug had made him fall asleep so it wouldn't be leaving his system so readily or quickly. His fingers twitched slightly then gradually came to a complete rest in a puddle of some kind of liquid. It was the blood still leaking from the wound in his shoulder that hadn't been wrapped up.
