Superman is an inspiration to almost all of the other heroes out there. He was one of the first. Now, after Brainiac stole the Kryptonian's DNA, the cultivated work of the Man of Steel's menace was released over the skies of Metropolis. There are reports that possibly DOZENS have altered DNA due to the mutagenic structure of Brainiac's work. In an attempt to gain more allies than enemies, Superman offers any affected civilians a place in the Supermen of America. Basically the superpowered group will help Superman in the event of major disasters and civilian evacuation, as well as the occasional supervillain. In the event Superman is away from Metropolis, their base of operations is the old "Super Friends" HQ on the outskirts of Metropolis where the Justice League International was once meant to relocate to. The building was also once home to the largest Superman Museum in the United States.

Brainiac however, has begun to reform just over Earth's atmosphere. The villain will no doubt try to recruit or simply force several of the affected to do his bidding to take down the last son of Krypton.

In this game you get to create one of the Supermen of America. While in the beginning we're all on the same side, a couple of us can switch sides once Brainiac is reintroduced. Make a Superman or Superwoman, or a Superboy or Supergirl, give yourself a codename and up to three powers based on Superman's. "Based on" being instead of heat vision you could have solar blasts from your hands, same thing with ice breathe. I know a lot of you will want to go the bigger power route, I'm hoping some of you can think outside the box and use some of the super-sensory powers like super hearing, microscopic/telescopic vision, super breath [if Superman could blow down a building and spin his hands fast enough to create mini-tornadoes you can make this simply wind control BASED on that power set]. Three powers are three powers, I don't want any sub-powers. Strength and Durability will be separate powers. I'll personally be going [password is "Last Son"]with ice manipulation, flight [as opposed to super speed, or super jump], and strength. All heroes [and even those who side with Brainiac] will wear the S somewhere in their attire in any color. You can have your character create their own costume or work with the folks at STAR Labs to create one.

Only gonna accept between 5-8 players for this and I'm gonna run with it as long as possible. If characters are abandoned in this game I'll eventually write their final fate and open up recruiting again. Can't wait to see what everybody comes up with!

So... who wants to make a Kryptonian/Human hybrid? Usually I make a game around a group of Superman clones with 2 or 3 powers each and call it the Superboys, but I figured SoA sounded more formal.

Superman's ability to survive without oxygen (i.e in space), does that count as a power in itself?

I would imagine it would go in the Durability. He's not only tough, but he can survive places.
