Alternate universe. Set in the hidden village of Shade, a small outpost of Konoha that lies on the border between the land of fire and the tea country. The village rival the other smaller hidden villages in both size and number. But it is almost unknown to the world and indeed most of Konoha too. Only a select few knows of its existence. The Hokage and his advisors, the captain of the ANBU-force and the leaders of the Aburame and Hyuuga-clans. Even the feudal lord of the country of fire knows nothing about the village, and on his map there is only a great forest where the hidden village lies.
It is the breeding grounds of Kinjutsu. Forbidden techniques that endangers the users life or the laws of nature. Founded by the first Hokage after the great war, its purpose to refine the forbidden arts to a point where they can be considered safe. It has been kept a secret because of the extremely potent techniques that can be produced in this environment, and of course the wrath of the other hidden villages, should they find out. In this village ninjas are born, raised and trained in the forbidden arts. They take on missions and travel the world just like everyone else. The village holds powerful clans, just like the others. Among them are the bloody Ketsuha clan, the blind Hamura clan, and a part of the now accepted Aburame.
Now, graduation day. Three young children have completed their first big step toward becoming real ninjas. They are given their forehead protectors, no mark or motive, a completely blank metal plate. At the same time a hostile force is raiding the allied village of Konoha. With almost all of the villages Chuunin and Jounin there, hostile eyes are watching the secret village of shade...

There you have it folks. Now, to the rules.
This rp will of course be set in the village of shade. We will follow a fresh team of three genin (at least to start with) and their Jounin (every spot is up for grabs) as they grow up and stronger. Not everyone will have to use forbidden techniques, but some should.
We will not use the usual gm/players-setup. I'm looking for people who are willing to help expand the game. My vision is to have a main story (which is already prepared) that is run together with choosable missions. Everyone can create missions or start plots to develop the characters. So it's a kind of everybody is GM-thing. I will have the role of thread starter just to keep things organised. So if you have a mission you'd like the team to take, pm it to me and I'll put it on the list.
Missions:

These missions consists of non-lethal menial labor or activities such as walking dogs, babysitting children or helping old ladies weed their gardens. In these missions there is always no or at least minimal risk of injury, and the salary is very minimal (200-300 Ryo).
After three completed missions I will put in Chuunin exam as a valid mission.

Description: The old lady needs to get her fifteen dogs of various sizes across town to the dog show where they’ll compete. They need to arrive in top condition.
Reward: 200 Ryo.

Description: The village is filthy, you are tasked with the cleaning of the village. Pick up every piece of trash you see.
Reward: 250 Ryo.

Description: An old lady with a giant garden outside the village request your help with the weeding.
Reward: 200 Ryo.

Description: Some people are just too lazy to have a lawn, but they will pay you to do all the work for them.
Reward: 300 Ryo.

Description: A little girl’s pet kitten has run away and she can’t find it anywhere.
Reward: 200 Ryo.

These missions are in many ways similar to the previous D-ranked, but slightly more dangerous. They may involve battle against bandits or intercepting an important document before it reaches its destination. Most C-rank missions takes place outside the village, and will put the characters in danger. C-rank pays much better than D-Rank (300-600 Ryo).

These dangerous and expensive missions generally put the characters life directly at risk during espionage, bodyguard duty or battling other ninjas. These missions are usually handled by skilled Chuunin or Jounin. They do however pay pretty well (600-1000 Ryo).

In most situations these missions will put the characters lives at risk and/or force them to take the life of another. Only very rarely will a team be given an A-ranked mission that is not an unsavory job. Of course the pay matches the risk (1000-2000 Ryo).
After three successful A-rank missions i will put in Jounin evaluation as a valid mission.

Extremely dangerous, these missions will almost guarantee the death of the characters unless they take it seriously. S-ranked missions involve fighting/assassinating other high-level ninjas, espionage in hostile territory or stealing vital information from behind enemy lines. S-rank missions are only given to Jounin-ranked ninjas. Pay is extremely good (2000 - 10000 Ryo).

There, that is some of the info that is going to be in the OOC. It's a Naruto-game everybody, and we all know what that means! Right? Wrong!
This game is not going to follow the same old formula, but a semi-new one. Everyone in the game will be a part of the creation of the game, coming up with mission ideas, story-elements, NPCs, everything. I'll demand more than the old "create a character and play". I aim to have at least five prepared missions of every available rank at all times, and with your help we can make it so. I have a main storyline prepared, but it is going to be interrupted for the sake of missions. At some points you'll actually be unable to proceed unless you have obtained a certain rank. So, how about it? Questions? Suggestions? Anything?

In all seriousness, though, I like the idea for the RP and I know you can be a great (semi)GM. It seems all the RPs I get into these days are full of dimwit players and OP characters with borderline multiple personality disorders and ... well, it's been bad lately

Yeah, that's the problem when you mainly rp fandoms without a clear power structure like Naruto. But I guess that you have to go through a few bad games to get experience enough to recognize them before you join.
And I wouldn't have you any other way, the day you stop greeting me with an insult is the day I'll ship you off to the mental asylum where you belong.

You mean sort of like the quincy in Bleach?
I don't see a direct problem with it, but you'd have to do some explaining about how you think it fits the world. We haven't really seen anything like that in the canon. If you can mqke it into a forbidden technique in any way I'm sure it would fit this game just fine.
