The Chronicles of Ceth
Ivory Shadows
Men have lived and men have died, as time decreed when the sun first arrived.
Snows may fall and winter may chill;
Fires may burn and summer may kill;
Days go on, and nights will follow;
Like a wheel that ushers the morrow;
Wars are fought and wars are won;
And in the end a father will lose a son;
But watch it all the white wood has done.
The Ivory Woods have stood since time began. Pure and eternal, with great white trees that pierce the skies like a sea of needles and roots that dig and scrape into the earth like writhing grave worms. However, a malevolent presence has settled over the white wood, changing it. The alabaster trunks of its native oaks and pines have gone cold as ice. Where once tears of silver marked the trees for what they are, only red streams remain. Vicious black serpents slither and crawl, making their lairs beneath the roots of the trees, and strange creatures harass travellers and natives alike. Merchants do not dare venture between the cities that rule these woods, and even its valiant defenders fear to tread through the ever-sinking roads that guide them from city to city. Local clans of wildmen rally at the gates of Ker Ithryn, Roinnvar and Ceanth Andora seeking refuge from mysterious “forest daemons”. Nobody knows who or what is hiding deep in the white wood, though it soon becomes apparent that these creatures are not natives to the woods, or perhaps even this world.
Welcome to the Realms of Vulyra. What is beyond this wooded expanse matters very little, though what is within is an entirely different matter. You are a resident of the Ivory Woods, or a traveler perhaps. It matters not to me, though it may matter to the powerful city-states that are beginning to suffer as a result of what is occurring in their united realm. The tales vary, though it is agreed that some strange and murderous things have taken the Ivory Woods as their home. What you make of these stories is up to you.
In recent times, Ceanth Andora has lost its prince. Hunting the fool was, when he was taken. A grieving father looks to bandits, but a grieving king is suspecting his rivals in Ker Ithryn and Roinnvar. Who or what matters not, but the question is - do you seek the prince?
The Abjurer's Council of Ker Ithryn senses a great power in the forest. Varag Marzhak thinks it may have something to do with the recent occurrences in the Ivory Woods, and calls for willing wildmen hunters and adventurers both native and foreign to seek out this power. Do you seek the power?
Meanwhile, Roinnvar has turned to a wildman druid called Nuallan for insight. Nuallan's eyes travel with the streams, but all he sees is shadow and a pedestal. Roinnvar, in its economic glory, offers thousands of gold coins to the man or woman who retrieves the relic. Do you seek the prestige?
Welcome all to Ivory Shadows, a medieval fantasy roleplay based in my own little creation, in a place called the Realms of Vulyra. I plan for this to be a very ruthless roleplay full of adventure, lust, greed, power, magic, violence, three-dimensional characters that you will love to hate and hate to love, realism (to an extent) and a very intricate plot focused on the very ancient and supernatural druidic forces at work in the Ivory Woods. I don't have very many rules as I trust my players to be sensible enough and show some common sense, especially when you're battling another player and interacting with the world.
Some of the rules I do keep are:
- Activity – I would appreciate if people posted at least once a day. If you can’t post for a certain period of time, or have lost motivation or want to drop out, please contact me.
- Consistency – be consistent in your posts. Try to keep yourself in character and react to things like your character would. There is no right or wrong answer. Also, no one-liners.
- Realism – no metagaming, godmodding, munchkins or anime fights. Fight realistically, interact realistically, and act realistically. People with a warhammer won’t be jumping around like some ninja.
- Believability – Mary Sue and Gary Stu are kill-on-sight for me. Your characters need to be believable. I don’t mind if you have a tragic past or anger management issues, so long as your character is three-dimensional.
- Profanity – if it’s believable and in-character, then yes. In fact, I encourage it. It is a great way to express emotion and realistic to a degree in a medieval society. Every second post should not contain a c-bomb though.
- Violence – yes, yes and yes. Be grisly, be descriptive, be ruthless. If you’re fighting, you’re likely not going to hold back until it’s over. Also, unless another player gives you permission, do not kill them.
- Sex – sex is a very big part of life. You can allude to the fact that you’re doing it, and if you want to let it play out, carry on in your PMs.
- Involvement – if you have a plot idea, bring it up in the OOC. Don’t be afraid to get involved. You are as much a part of this roleplay as I am, or any other player.
Now, Ceth is a very well-established world. However, that being said, feel free to make up stuff as you go along. Organisations, currencies, people, wars, etc., the world is yours. The world has been active for around 12,000 years, divided into different ages - the Dawning Age, the First Era of Man, the Ithaelic Age, the Second Era of Man and the Third Era of Man (where we are currently). There is a little that you do need to know, mainly on the races you are able to play and on the Realms of Vulyra. These I have chosen to compile in a moderated social group: http://roleplayerguild.com/group.php?groupid=1757
If you intend on joining, then you may apply to join the social group as well. This is mainly to keep the OOC relatively light and not cluttered.
Name: I’m hoping this is self-explanatory.
Appearance: this includes age, gender and race. Image or a very eloquent description.
Skills: any skills, be they magical, combat-orientated or miscellaneous; don't go overboard.
Biography: no laziness. I don’t care if your character does not remember or does not know, he/she still has a past. Your biography will help me know your character a lot better. This also includes faith, if you have any.
I haven't put anything to do with personality on the character sheet. If it helps you, write it down, but don't add it to your character sheet. This is because I like to get to know a character rather than read what he or she is like in a paragraph or less.
Feel free to be whatever. Be an acrobat or a mummer or some kind of bard. Be a thief, be a mercenary, be a bandit or a mage or a child. Hell, be a prostitute! Please, don't restrict yourself to just being a warrior or a mage. I'm not going to penalise you for not having the magical gift or being a fighter. Everyone is welcome.
If you have any questions on lore or races or magic, please do not hesitate to PM me! If you have any requests, feedback or suggestions, please do not hesitate to PM me! If you want something to occur that you think will make your experience more interesting, please do not hesitate to PM me or make mention of it in the OOC!

Hahaha, that is actually reassuring. It'll get even better when everyone makes OCs and we'll have to memorize those, as well 8D
Ah, the joys of roleplaying.

Excuse any of my errors, I'm sadly using my phone today because my computer is being ridiculous!
[I]Name[\I]Silvia, referred to as Snake, also.
[I]Appearance[\I]:Female of the Wild Clan, age 19. She is a young woman, but a woman nonetheless. Standing at 5'6, she has a slim yet proportionate body with feminine assets. Her hair is chocolate brown waves that falls to her mid-waist. Eyes are almond shaped, and like her hair, a smooth chocolate color. She always has black sap lining her eyes, and thick eyelashes surrounding them. Her nose is slightly turned upwards, giving her a innocent look. Her cheek bones are high and rosy. She has a strong smile, though her plump lips are usually a smirk. She os usually dressed in the furs or leathers of the clan, but she dresses slightly provocatively, strictly for her appeasing control when done so. She has a tattoo of a snake lining her spine with the head resting on the nape of her neck.
[I]Skills[\I]: As attract as she is, she uses it as a skill. Her witty charm and seductive manner, usually get her whatever she needs, hence her job description- a Seductess. Her powers of persuasion should never be under minded. Living as a Wild, you grow to learn and expect the movements of enemies in combat. Her other skills are simple things such as pick-pocketing, and a sinful ability to lie.
Biography: As a child, Snake's parents made the gruesome mistake of venturing into the eerie woods, and since the age of seven, she has wandered with the Wild Clan. At the young age she was, she picked up skills like the men and boys of clan, with a strange humor that most don't appreciate. Plus The urge for power, and control, also the unforgiving short temper. While growing up, she learned petty thief skills, and an unnatural source of strength in combat. One that could put some to shame. But as puberty hit, and it was very obvious that she was in fact a woman, she moved crowds. In the Clan there was once a woman named "Rosica", who more or less was Man's entertainment for a certain pay of the night. The woman became Snake's mentor, and guided her through womanhood, revealing to her a world of seduction, and how it could leave you the upper hand. Though Snake is very fond of using her way, she didn't want to be a call girl, so she venture into seducing prey, and killing them, whomever they may be, just for some money that night. She hasn't once felt guilty for doing so, seeing as she had no faith. She only praised once person and that was herself, and only herself. The reason she is known as Snake, is for the men who lay at the knees in front of her, praying for a better exit than by her, the "beautiful and deadly" snake.
~ she wants to go home, but nobody is home ~
Name:Hannah Diederich (Dietrich)
Appearance:
Age:13
Race:Human
Skills:She is a child so her ability to handle herself in situations she hasn't yet been in, or adapting to surprise, but her strength in planning and magical control are far above those of others. Growing up a prodigy mage she was forced to train very hard. She eventually was told she was a force mage which delighted her as she originally didn't want to kill anyone, but after a select few events she was scarred to be heartless if necessary. She is also trained in cooking, and is obsessed with cleanliness thanks to a bit of sexism from her master. Though skilled at magic she has a particular weakness of emotional control due to her age, being very easy to control she can still cast it just changes how she cast. As making her angry tends to make her spells more forceful yet slower for example, her spells work best with raw passion though and get tampered severely by anger, sadness, laughing(o.k. seriously keep away from this one.), ect...
Investigation 46
The home of the Diederich family has been destroyed by what seems to be a large fire. Upon further investigation there had seemed to be a girl under the rubble presumably the families daughter. Covered in severe burns she was taken to the authority to heal her injuries. Upon further investigation it was discovered that the fire originated from the fire place, but how it spread was unnatural with the help of the local wizards we discovered that it could be caused by a magic user with little control of her powers, although we have to give into there demands and let them analyze the girl now confirmed to be the families daughter Hannah.
Hannahs diary
Today I was forced to be inspected by a bunch of strange men in funny clothes. They said they saw some kind of power in me, but not that of anything near a pysomawhatchat, and I should come to there quarters. I wonder when I'll be able to go back to my parents. I am living with a nice man who can do funny tricks with water now though.
Dae's report.
After a lack of practice for a few days of off hand training. My pupil seems to have complained off headaches had many a bloody noses,complains about internal pain and bleeds out her eye sockets. This seems to be remedied slightly by the casting of spells. Suggesting it's a build up of innate magic due to her being a force magic user. Permission to let her cast spells when necessary would be advised. Your release on such practices would be appreciated.

The councils apologies.
After a brief investigation it was quickly concluded that the instances of last week were are fault. We give are full regrets to the situation that had happened with the flooding of the lower district of the city. We had reports of a demon lurking around killing men by the dozens, but had no further information so we sent one of are finest wizards and there pupil to help deal with the problem. It was later revealed to us that the demon was in fact a succubus, and had tempted the very man we sent into working for her to cause the flooding and kill his own pupil. She had killed the succubus by crushing it against the ground, but claims it wasn't her who killed the wizard who followed the commands the succubus had last given him after death. Which was to drowned the girl to death hence the mass flooding. We see no one else who could kill the man with a force blast of water at him though so we assume it is the girls guilt. As a meager retribution we offer the young pupil Hannah Diederich to be stationed were you please. We assure you she will be a excellent help in your efforts, although it is suggested you do not give her a female superior unless you want conflict with her unsettled mind.
