OOC IS UP: CLICK HERE
The IC bit that you are certainly NOT going to skip past now that I pointed it out to you!
The year is 20-...no, it is not.
We're so far in the future that any vestige of modern world human society is dust and ashes by now.
We're so far through the timeline that the date was eventually given up upon.
Some thought that in the ancient scrolls, the Best Before times were 25.12.2013, whatever that meant.
But in these ancient times, those humans used to think that a "post apocalyptic" world would be a barren wasteland, with convenient ammo supplies in little rotting wooden boxes and a war for what little supplies that remained. Unfortunately, that era had come by and faded away already. And people thought, back then, that it would be dust.
But it didn't die. Earth didn't die. The oil and coal were dry hollow caves and the boiling hot lava bubbled over, trying to rip the planet apart but it never really -worked-. The pest of the Earth survived.
Now, we all survive in massive, circular fortresses called UNITS. From what we were told, the world outside was inhabitable. Dead. We couldn't survive out there even if we wanted to. We're born, we maintain our UNIT, we follow the Tour Guide's instructions, keep to our teams, and then we die. That's what everyone is used to. That's what we do. We survive.
But you, oh my! You right there, are in a very, very special team! You've been swapped from your previous team and your BM - that's a Brainwashing Microchip, by the way - has 'accidentally' been switched off by your Tour Guide. We apologize for the inconvenience, stand still until your Tour Guide fixes things. Stare at the floor until the problem has been fixed, there's a good <Insert Gender Here>.
But you're a human, aren't you? So you take a look around. And things are so, so horrific. Men and women are walking around in groups, wearing thick metal collars, these...these robot things commanding them to keep the UNIT running. IV drips attached to the elderly, nutrient supplements to eat, little pills for when you feel thirsty and absolutely no recollection of ever living like this, ever.
Well? Are you ready to change this broken world? Or are you going to stare at the floor and wait until it's all over again?
Now for the OOC bit!
So, tl;dr - It's a story set into the very, very distant future where you live in these massive factories called UNITS. These house over 100,000 of people. You happen to be in the 257th one. They were basically created by an overly religious group called the Genesis, who believed that in order for Earth to be revived humans have to keep out of the way. Using their money and their belief, they bought the government and locked humanity into 300 massive, metal boxes to live out their lives.
But, on a much more local scale, each UNIT has a Group, around 500 of these Groups do specific tasks around the UNIT, and each Group splits even further into Teams. Each Team has an android-like robot, faceless and full of wires, called a "Tour Guide" - the Tour Guide is telepathically linked to every member of the Team and adapts specifically to the Team member's emotions and personalities, becoming compatible with each and every team member.
Still didn't read that? How lazy of you! Well, I'll shrink it down further - your Tour Guide is like your best friend by default. and I'll be RPing your Tour Guide, Robin. She looks like a human, acts like a human, and has been looking after you for five whole years - ever since you joined the team.
Your Tour Guide, however, is a faulty one. This 'Robin' persona became as real to her as it is to you. More importantly, she over-adapted, and now she even thinks like a human. So, she's helping you all escape your Group, and then your UNIT, in return for one, simple task:
Go to UNIT 1.
About the RP - or, "How does this make your thread so different?"
Basically, this isn't a "high quality" Casual RP thread, but it is going to be a bit tough on the rules. The main one being that you need to have posted something IC once every three days, at the very least. And I function on the "post time" option by your last post, and won't hesitate to chase you down on it. It takes only a few minutes to post something!
Second, Everyone has to stick together. "But that's so dull!" I hear you cry - but it makes it much easier for the next point i'm going to make - Your actions will sometimes have a massive effect on the story.
While it doesn't sound -too- different, I'm talking on an extreme scale. You can kill the leader of Genesis and let loose the humans, but it'll kill the world. Or, you can join a certain different party who won't be named, and they'll kill all the humans. Or, you can tame a very very powerful beast and it'll kill the humans and the world.
But, of course, it has to be realistic. I wouldn't expect you to know everything right away and go "Right, let's kill the world!" But what it also means is that you can either accept or decline Robin's goal of getting to UNIT 1, but declining it would be a very, very bad idea. There still has to be some sort of story to follow and that's the basic goal for you to reach. Once you reach it, you've got the reins.
And, finally - you have your own IC lorebook right in front of you, 24/7, programmed to answer any of your questions. That's Robin, by the way. It'll give you a reason to post as i'm not -that- mean.
Now, I hope I've answered any of the basic, burning questions of yours! If you can leave a comment about whether or not you're interested, then I'll take a look at numbers and stuff then work on the OOC which will (unfortunately) by a bit more detailed than this one!
