September 1st, 1769
Benjamin & Thomas stood upon the ship. Their uncle, the captain of the ship, had stumbled back down the ramp onto the harbor platform, and was collecting the fees for each and every of the roughly 20 travelers coming on board. The pair watched as the men and women came on board, roughly examining them. An Irishwoman, and Irishman, A slightly dark-skinned lass, perhaps part Indian?
Then there was a Scottish girl.. followed by a small band of Northern-sounding English fellas (With strong Newcastle accents). Another darker skinned gentleman came on board, at least darker that most English people.
"I know him.." Thomas uttered quietly. He didn't know where from, but he certainly believed so.
"Really? He looks like he may be a savage" Ben replied.
Thomas gaffed at his brothers ignorance, and went on with eating his apple. Perhaps he didn't know him exactly, but he certainly seemed familiar.
The captain climbed aboard once everyone else was finally on the ship. There were just less than 100 people all squeezed onto the little thing, but it'd be a comfortable squeeze.
"You boys, I need you to help the cooks. There's only 2 of them, and they won't be able to feed everybody alone."
"I'm no carrot peeler uncle!" Ben spouted angrily. He believed his talents could be put to better use. Thomas knew the truth though. Ben had no talents besides his talents with a blade and peddling cheap items on the street, like when he was a boy. Tom drug his brother off to the side and convinced him to watch his mouth if he wants to survive the trip over..
Some crewman started climbing the masts. The ship would be setting sail any hour now.
