Seven Sins Character Depo
All qualifying participants that have not been defeated in battle already have 1 week to respond to this thread. After which, only those still around will move onto the next round of battles. So, post here people with an "All Hail Guru" by Monday, October 14th 2013 at 5:30pm EST or you will forfeit your spot in the continuation of this tournament.
Welcome to The Way of the Warrior, the third annual premiere tournament on RoleplayerGuild. The Annual nature of this tournament will start on July 22 and carry through October/November. The tournament will be presented as a T1 Eden Era, Powered, Single Elimination bracket. I will be accepting a minimum of 4 and a maximum of 16 people, if any odd number of people apply, then there may be a extra round to cut down on the fat - generally between the later entrants. There are no restrictions on who can and cannot enter the tournament, meaning top fighters can enter, as well as rookies. This is to allow for a good mix of veterans and rookies, which can promote different styles of learning, play, and promote rookie growth. For now, the tournament matches will take place in the places offered by Arena Battlegrounds, or whatever I decide to throw up as your fight stage.
Like the last Way of the Warrior tournament this tournament will feature two threads aside from the fight threads. One will be the OOC, which can be readily identified as this thread, and the other will be an IC, which will be the place hosting the tournament. All competitors must check into the lobby before the rounds begin, or they will be removed from the tournament and their opponent will get a free pass to the next round. The IC will feature places to eat, a restoration chamber to heal wounds received in previous fights(Restore you, a good majority of the way, but not fully), rooms, and teleporters, to get people to and from arena’s. There will also be a IC sign-in place and a lobby, for relaxing. The battlegrounds will have cameras to record the battles, which then will be viewable in the lobby in-between rounds, if people would like to check up on their opponents style. Another thing to watch out for in the lobby is the potential for sabotage. Any sabotage not replied too will carry over as intended.
The only sure fired way to win is the death or forfeiture of your opponent by the end of the round. Otherwise, it’ll be up in the air, due to the match being judged. The rubric is as follows:
For a total of 100 possible points.Damage: 30 points Max(How much damage you deal)
Strategy/Tactics: 30 points Max (The tactics you employ)
Creativity: 30 points Max (How creative you are in combat with your character)
IC Ability: 5 points Max (How well you play your character)
Imagery/Prose: 5 points Max (How good your posts are in general)
There will be a three day post limit, though whether or not your opponent posts in that time, is up to them. Every three days, if your opponent does not post, you're allowed to make a connecting post. Two of these posts, in a row, and you automatically win. I’d rather you not just sit there and hold off on making a connection post, unless your opponent has a good reason for not posting within the three day limit.
PM or post your characters here, by July 20th, which is two weeks from now.
Level Six and Below characters are allowed:No Space/Time/Reality/Dimensional Rift manipulation.
Superforms are disallowed.
No Canon Characters.
Defending preps must be equal to or greater than the offensive prep, otherwise the attack will be weakened, instead of completely ineffective.
If your opponent asks to see your sheet, don't be a douche, show them; or say no, and they can appeal to me and/or another judge, and I'll go over it.
Tier 1: This is your basic, every day human. Nothing particularly special about them. They are sort of just there. Basic fighting skills abound, more or less skilled in street fighting with a great deal of inefficiency. Can use a gun, bow and arrow, knives, pretty much any normal weapon they can pick up and swing/aim. Accuracy and skill may vary.
Tier 2: These are your humans with some type of skill in martial arts. Maybe mastering one or two of them, but nothing out there. Their intellect is one of college education or the real world experience of. A PHD in one or two subjects. Skill with commonplace weapons are improved to skilled marksmenship, swordsmenship, whatever. This is more or less the pinnacle of human performance, be it with themselves(Physical or Mental), or weapons, or cars, or whatever. These are the types you may see in action movies(Jackie Chan, Jet Li, etc., etc). You may even have an inkling of magic. Nothing that would be overly devastating, able to manipulate a small flame, maybe j a glass of water to make yourself have a drink without moving. Small breeze. Just the bare beginnings of knowing you have magic.
Tier 3: These are those who are past normal human limits. In intellect, these would be somewhere in the range of Charlie Eppes, at his peak, or Albert Einstien, someone like that. As far as physical abilities, look at someone like Donnie Yen(Who protrayed the IP Man), or the infamous Bruce Lee. Your strength and speed are monstrous, lifting severual times your own weight comes easy to you, running almost twice the speed of Usian Bolt is nothing. Your skill with weapons borders on the supernatural, while barely missing the mark. Master Level Marksmenship, Swordsmenship, etc., etc. Magic comes into play here more than before. Here you are really getting into your magic, you are expanding your horizons in it, no matter what it may be(Some restrictions apply). That flame you manipulated in Tier 2 is now capable of being launched out, but it will cost you a lot of stamina. Your magic may be increasing, but it's still got a long way to go before you are capable of expertly wielding it. Batman could very well be here.
Tier 4: You are past the masters of the human peak physical condition. You are now deep into the supernatural level of power. Physically, you are a monster, perhaps? Tossing cars with ease, or shattering buildings. Mentally, you look down on Einstien. You could very weel be a super genius, a mad scientist. Your skill in magic is increased and you are now moderately good at controlling it. Still a novice, but compared to your skill, or lack thereof, before, you are great. No matter the magic, you are now delving deeper into it's properties, adapting it to suit your very needs. Your control over it is excelling, your understanding of it has improved - you skill in it has developed. Your are capable of exerting more of your will on the magic, thus expanding it past it;s previous levels. Your telepathy can reach further out, your fireballs now move to your whim, etc.
Tier 5: Your magic now is mind-boggling, as is your strength, speed, and other such skills. What technology your possess now seems magical with the intricate ways it works and the like. A Mad Scientist may build a prototype of a nanobot, but you are now building them and giving them simple tasks to complete. They are capable of repairing injuries; as is your magic, if you should happen to have such a thing. Your magic is capable of destroying more and more, including bringing down meteor showers, and causing earthquakes.
Tier 6: Be it by technology, or magic, you are capable of healing yourself and others with ease, even major damage. No longer are you confined to this word, your intellect allows you to travel the stars - your strength allows you to conquer nations. You are more durable, you take damage that would put down a ship specifically made for war and continue moving. You are on the cusp of greatnes!
