~!Welcome to the city of Nightfare!~
(OOC : http://roleplayerguild.com/showthrea...y-of-Nightfare!)
Vienna sat on her bed and wiped the sweat off her forehead. She grabbed an apple, bit into it, and slowly, the color of the skin drained away, leaving the apple looking grey and dull. She took a bite from it anyways. If she only drank the color then it would be a waste.
A knocking at the door interrupted her thoughts. She paused for a moment, pondering whether she should say come in or not. She was only in her training outfit and her sweat was just disappearing, and she couldn't even imagine what she smelled like. This would not be a good image for her if someone important were to come in.
"It's just me Vienna!" a high-pitched friendly voice rang through the door. She calmed down, just her maid.
"Come in," Vienna replied. Mira bounced through the door, black curls bouncing behind her. She was always so happy and so joyful. Vienna was glad that she has Mira as her maid. Mira held up a big poofy dress, white corset while the skirt was an abundance of colors.
"Surprise! A specially made dress for dear Vienna for that ball," she laid it gently on the bed, then sighed, "Though, you aren't planning to go are you?" Vienna shook my head no and smiled. She had already told her that she wasn't going to go this year. Everyone wearing tight dresses, she had to act all elegant, her father would point out some possible warriors for her to partner with, and so many rules. It wasn't all bad. The music was nice and there was always a lot of nice people, but she had already made p her mind about going to the festival in the lowest sector. She had heard rumors of the craziness of it. Not to mention she planned to buy some trinkets and such from the many stands that would be set up. Everyone would be laughing and running around and not worrying about the stains on there clothes. She closed her eyes and imagined the fun, excitement sparking through her once again.
"You should come Mira," Vivienne offered, though she already knew the answer.
"Nope! Nuh-uh! Gotta work, have to make the money!" and the with that she flew out of the room and on to her next job. Vivenne sighed, a bit disappointed, and started to get ready.
No one ever saw her, no one ever bothered... It was a lonely life... No, that was the word to describe things. Edelweiss couldn't sleep, nor eat, nor interact, nor breathe fresh air, how would that be considered a life? For she was far from alive, she was dead. Her transparent body strolled past walls, people, animals, none ever seemed to notice her presence, not even those supposed 'mediums'. Though, there was always a particular person or two that noticed her, but it always ended with them leaving and her earning a flower pattern on her cloak - Currently four flower patterns -. Edel had always yearned for company, but no one ever wanted to stick with her.
Murmurs, whispers, gossip, she could hear it all as she strolled through the streets. "A... Festival...?" The raspy whisper managed to escaped her mouth. Something inside wanted her to visit, to see what this so called festival was like, of course she had always wanted to experience one as well... It wouldn't hurt to just watch, would it?
As the world moved forward, Edelweiss stood on place, contemplating... Wondering.

Danny sat on the ground against a wall, seeming immensely saddened by something. People passed by her, but she didn't look up from the spot on the pavement she was staring at. A noisy trio of teens walked down the street, chatting loudly.
"I can't wait, guys!"
"Oh, calm down. Its just the festival."
"I know, but come on, it'll be fun!"
"As if. The Big bucks have their ball ton-" Danny shot up, practically tackling the one teenager, staring intensely into his eyes. After a minute or so of awkward silence and staring, she uttered a single Word.
"Fesitval?" The teens shared nervous looks, the one still being clutched by the crazy eyed girl.
"Um, yeah." One started, carefully. "Like every year, down by-" but before he could finish his sentence, Danny was off again, down the street and around a corner. Once out of sight, she dropped down to all fours and ran, turning from human to dog in about a minute, continuing to run, tongue hanging out of open jaws. She entered a street packed with people, but kept running through them, barking occasionally. Eventually, she skidded to a stop, standing up suddenly her original form again. She jumped around, giggling in a high pitched fashion as people shot looks in her direction, avoiding direct contact.
"There are so many smell I could cook a banana over a cockroach!" She cried gleefully, throwing her hands up.
Leaning back in his chair Alex looked at the bedraggled man in front of him. Surounded by his thugs the man looked tiny and especially so since his face was soo beaten and bloody. The man had clearly got a broken nose and already one of his eyes had swollento a black lump. A few of his fingers were missing and there was blood stains on the floor. The dark room they were in was just an old abanded kitchen in some back street in the lower sector. "Now you are going to listen to me. You didnt pay your dues, did you." The way he spoke it wasnt a question. "And I need that money, thugs are expensive and if I want a share of the money that goes through the festival I'm going to need those thugs." Standing up quickly he gave the man a vicious kick to the chest and the man flew back hitting the wall in a spary of blood and cracking ribs.
"Please!" The man screamed as Alex stepped closer.
"Please what?" Alex slapped the man across the face while he tried to get back up.
"Please I will bring you the money! I...I...I have a safe at my home, just please. Leave me and my family alone. I have a daughter and a wife. I need to support them."
Laughing Alex kicked the man onto his back. "Oh really? Well you are going to be a warning for me." Nodding at the men to the side Alex stepped back. Two thugs ran forward and grabbed the man throwing him against the wall and holding him there. Another thug came forward with a hammer and began to batter the man. Blood sprayed into the air and the sound of bones cracking filled the silence of the kitchen. Very soon the screams of the man faded out and it just became a dull thud as the thug pulverised the mans body. Throwing up his hands the thugs dropped the man on the floor and backed away again. "Looks like we have our message. String him up on the front of the building then we clear out. I heard he has a safe we can take. And a wife and a daughter." He winked at the closest thug before wiping his hands on a cloth and striding out. Two of the thugs grabbed the now dead mans body and dragged it out the front whilst the rest followed Alex. Alex looked around at the filth that he called home in the low sector. How had he come to be so rich from these such poor people? It didnt matter. He had a manor and anything he wanted. Soon he would be extorting the stands at the festival and who knows, maybe he'd take home something nice from it. "Boys you go ahead. Take the wife foryourself. But send the daughter to my manor with the safe, no one is to touch her or the cash." He coldly stared at his gang, the leader nodded before sauntering off with the other thugs. He had a meeting Arlo Sinder later and then he had to start making plans for the festival. He couldnt go on this little raid. Shame.

Quen leaned against the wall of an alleyway, listening to the conversations of passerbys. Looks like everyone's excited about the festival, she thought, playing with her loosely tied bandages. Having only been to Nightfare for less then a year, she had missed the previous festivals.
Such events never really excited her, but then again she never really got out much. The witch crossed her arms, eyes flickering around, taking in the faces of the people around her. They would all probably attend, but would she? Quen dropped her arms to her side and left the alley. "This once," she murmured, "just this once I'm going to try to have fun."
Despite her reluctant tone, a small spark of excitement flickered inside her. She hid a small, rare smile. Perhaps attending wouldn't be that bad. There was only one way to find out...
Vivienne walked quickly to the lower sector, though it was still such a walk. Nightfare was a big place, and her house near the very center. She passed people in nice suits and grand gowns, the quality deteriorating as she walked further and further. She slapped away the fairybots who tried to shove their knowledge about the other sectors down her throat.
When she finally approached the old fountain in the lower sector, it was dusk. She had heard this is where most of the people go, though it stretches throughout all the sector. Stands were set up, people were talking and laughing, a kid pushed her slightly to the side so he could catch up with his friend. Dust and dirt stained her tights and shoes. She ignored the fact that she probably looked terribly out of place, and watched the light make the water of the fountain shimmer.
Ah, so this was it? The festival was rather lovely, but it would be more enjoyable if Edelweiss was able to interact with the salesmen at the stands. She passed through many people, each and everyone of them never having the slightest recognition of the poor ghosts presence, for she walked in limbo. Edelweiss lowered her hood, but her gaze remained fixated on the many food stands, if only she could smell the scents of fried goods.
She stopped at a fountain, a peculiar looking woman stood. Through Edelweiss' judgement, the woman was of the high sector... Though it was rather strange to see one down in the low sector. Without a second thought, Edelweiss walked up to the woman and waved her hand in front of her face, though it wouldn't be a surprise if she couldn't see her as well.

Danny giggled loudly before dropping to the ground, shrinking rapidly and scaring people near her. But she was simply a tiny version of herself, shreiking in joy and dodging through the crowd's feet. Running behind a box, she came out the other side as a child version of her usual human self. She ran through the streets excitably, playing various games and peering into stands with the upmost curiosity. So many people were busling around her, and there was so many things that she could learn. She ran up to a stall with various different clothing items on display.
"Tell me everything you know!" She said to the man, waving her hands wildly. The man looked at her, scared.
"About... What?" He asked, hesitantly.
"Uh, I know you're quite insane." Danny frowned, walking away dissapointed.
Quen walked through crowd, a bag of food and aimless trinkets that she had bought from the salesmen in her arms. As she made her way to the fountain, couldn't help but notice a girl running around madly.
She stopped walking, an eyebrow raised in the girl's direction.
Sitting down on one of the tables Alex looked into the eyes of the old man who was opposite him. Dressed in a plain blue tunic he looked very weak and very simple. But Arlo Sinder was not a weak or simple man. "You're late" His cold calculated voice seemed to resonate off the wood of the tables and even in the hustle of the busy carnival people gave the pair a wide birth.
"I was told that you would be here. No time and no day. Just that you were here." Alex snapped back. He regretted that.
"Listen you, I dont care what message you get dont. Snap. At. Me. Now what have you got on the stuff running through here?"
"Yes sir. So the drugs are brought in by the carnies and most are delivered in bulk to private dealers but small amounts are sold on the stalls. I've got men on the stalls that deal so anytime you want to move in you know where to look." Arlo just grunted his approval and stoodup.
"Its always a pleasure Alex" As the man walked away Alex watche dhim. He would have that mans job soon enough. Looking around he spotted a girl standing by the fountain. In a pair of tights and a dress. She looked so far out of place it was funny. She seemed to be a beacon in this dreary place Alex gestured for one of his men to come over. "Pick up my goods from the weapons stall. And get a few boys to bring that girl over here." Pointing at the girl by the fountain. 2 thugs walked over to the girl and grabbed each shoulder. "Excuse me miss. Someone very important would like to speak to you"
