Kyoshi Island: The Birthplace of Avatar Kyoshi, was originally part of the the Earth Kingdom. It split away from the mainland by Kyoshi after Chin the Great tried to conquer the peninsula. Now, centuries later, it still kept itself separate from the rest of the earth kingdom.
When Sozin's comet came, Fire Lord Sozin launched an invasion that wiped out the air benders, leaving none alive. Thus the 100 year war started. Ruthless, the Fire Lord launched invasions into the Earth Kingdom and the Southern Water Tribe.
The fighting intensified greatly, especially in the Earth Kingdom. After Sozin died, his son, Azulon took over as Fire Lord and continued his father's mission - conquest of the world.
Now a good decade into Azulon's reign, the Earth Kingdom is still fairly powerful. However, the Fire Nation has made some headway. Since the beginning, the people of Kyoshi Island decided to do their best to stay out of the war. Though renowned for their superb Kyoshi Warriors, all female combatants groups, they were a fairly peaceful people. The Kyoshi warriors maintained that peace and did anything to keep their island safe.
Our saga begins a few miles away from a village in the south-east end of the island. A lone boat made its way toward the seemingly empty beach, carrying only two individuals. They looked warn from what appeared to be a long trip. As soon as the boat hit the sandbar, one jumped out and quickly tethered the boat so it would stay.
"We are here my prince." He said glancing around the empty beach. It was nice and secluded. If their intel was correct, there would be a village within a few miles. Grabbing the supplies from the boat he shouldered them. "Do you prefer a quick meal, Milord?" He inquired as the other person climbed out. "I can easily get a fire started to get the chills out." He stated.
It had been a long trip from the mainland. Though he was soaked and tired, Kinji knew his prince was probably just as tired and wet. As his lord's manservant, Kinji would ignore his own personal needs until his lord was served. "Or do you want to head toward the village? It might take an hour or so and the brisk walk could dry our clothes." Plus there would be food, a warm fire, and company in the village. However, it was for the prince to decide. He looked at his lord expectantly.
Little did either know though that they were being watched even before the boat hit the beach. About half a dozen pairs of eyes watched from the rocks as the two landed on the beach. The leader, a young woman, dressed in the garb of a Kyoshi warrior - Green dress, painted face, jeweled hairpiece, and a sword - nodded to her companions, also Kyoshi warriors. "Wait a moment. If they decide to camp at the beach wait until they are settled down before striking. If they head our way, wait until they are past before surprising them." She frowned. "These Fire Nation spies will not make it far." She declared.
