Here is the IC: http://roleplayerguild.com/showthrea...24#post9454724
Rules: You hate them and you love them but they are required.
1. No barbies or stupid mixes of characters from shows. If you do have a picture have a bio to match the person to make it seem like thats who's in the picture.
2. Pictures are of course allowed, just no super anime picture with stupid Kawaii people. This is a steampunk/post-apocalyptic cross, make them match to an extent.
3. Keep the cussing to a minimum unless in character and it's appropriate.
4. Romance is allowed but keep it pg-13 unless you want your characters to have sex in which you just pm me and the other person that it's what you want and I will determine whether I should approve of it and the person says they will do it.
5. Have fun!
Beasts: Curtesy of Skryte
In forests of dead trees, some are not as dead as others. Timberstalks are lage insect like stick-bugs that imitate the dead tree around them. They enjoy playing with their prey before consuming them, often driving them insane. Timberstalks have many arms and many legs, theirlegs digging into the ground like roots. Their arms can split open, revealing crustacean like claws.
Hostility: Very. Will not hunt outside of their territory.
These black mites are like an ocean. Their swarms are known to very very few. Their natural habitat hover around corpses, where they swarm over it like a black sea of death. Some swarms actively seek prey, they dig into pores and seek control of the nervous system, taking control of the body, while consuming it. They seek to use their host to spread the swarm.
Hostility: Hostility in a physical form.
Large, plant bear-trap like traps. Hide under a layer of ash, dead leaves, whatever it can find. When one steps on it, it snaps at the prey like a bear trap. Trapping them in a hard pod like form. with acidic fluids breaking them dow.
Hostility: It's a trap.
A nocturnal creature, with a natural chameleon like camouflage. The creature is partially humanoid, as it often crawls around on four legs. The creature itself is pale beyond belief, its skin is caley and transparent, by deafault. It has no ears, eyes , or nose, only a massive gaping mouth, lined with teeth. It has ten fingers on each hand and feet like a raptor. When something is sleeping, it creeps up on its prey and places its palm on the face of its prey. Its touch induces a coma and drops the prey in a never ending nightmare, the creature then drags its prey away into its hidey hole and feasts. The nightmares that the Phasemen caust with their saliva usually center around the Phasemen themselves. Giving the appearance that they 'phase' into you dreams.
Hostility: Very hostile.
WallWorms- Cavern Only
Worm thingies, that dwell in the caverns. They cluster up in 'colonies', forming literal organic walls of flesh. They are slimey and fleshy. They reproduce by having special nodes in their brain (What little they have. Four special nodes.), become eggs. These baby worms contain the knowledge of their parent worm, the layout of the cavern, proper feeding sites, etc. These worms reproduce insanely quickly. These worms will break their colonies when presented with fire, offering a pathway through their literal walls of flesh. They are fat worm thingies with a rather large mouth, and an ass on the other end. They go around like caterpillers, and are NOT cute in any shape or form. Advise stepping on them because they make a satisfying squish noise.
Hostility: Not at all. Just disgusting.
Akrens are similar to Praying Mantis. However, these have sixe legs and four forearms. Their mouth is plated over. The plates over the mouth can be retracted, revealing pincer like teeth. The teeth are covered in a paralyzing venom, that causes full body paralysis in mere seconds. Akrens are similar to ants, they both make dirt mounds as nests, and they cluster up in colonies. Hundreds of them go out on food raids where theyy find and bring back any kind of food, they sometimes go after animals, stunning them with dozens upon dozens of paralyzing bites, and then carrying the stunned animals back to the nests, to slowly eat them alive.
Hostility: Mean and will attack anything alive.
Car sized armored canines. They have bladed elbows, a single horn at the top of their nose. They have two sets of teeth. The first is their helmet overlapping the top and bottom pieces, sharp pieces of helmet. The second set is their normal set. They are pack hunters.
Hostility: Feral dogs.
Pathogens, Diseases, Sicknesses Also curtesy of Skryte
Airborne parasite infection that hitchikes on molecules in the air. Higher concentrations can be visible as a thin green gas. The virus burrows through the lungs and into the blood stream where it continues to burrow through veins, streams, organs, etc. The virus eats flesh and it multiplies. It's favorite food is bone marros, but it usually doesn't get to working on getting to the bone marrow until its consumed most of the flesh. The virus clusters and quickly becomes a larger organism, the designs vary on location for efficeny on that part of flesh.
"You're dying very slowly. Feeling every bite into your flesh and then you see a large worm burrow out of your arm. It screeches and burrows back in, realizing that there is no food in that direction. Some have toothed arms to scoop up loose squishy bits. After its done with you, after you're dead. Some decide to stay, to get into that delicious succulent bone marrow. Other leave, going about 15 to 20 meters away from the corpse before dying and releasing spores that carry the virus into the air."
Week 0- Contracting the Ashen. High chance of curing if noticed.
Week 1- The body does everyting in its power to get that shit out of you. You have explosive diarrhea, you will voimit anything from water to chunks to blood, you will not be able to control you bladder. Parts of your body will shut down temporarily in an effort to kill whats in it, while your immune system invades that part like D-Day. You will experience fatigue, bleeding from your ears, poers, eyes, nose, and pus secreting from them as well. Fallen warriors of your immune system.
Week 2- You have lost. Your body begins necrosis, to rot away, but strangely, your vital parts don't rot. Only you extremeties, skin, immediate flesh. You will see yourself rot away like a corpse, you will still be able to move, if you have the strength to overcome your fatigue. Your temperature will skyrocket nearing weeks 3. Your nevrves being to die, feeling as if you are on fire.
Week 3- You are now ash, Dead, your bones will turn into dust the instant a breeze so much as breathes on them. Your nerves would have died before this as you watch yourself turn to ash, you feel nothing.

Noteable Locations and Events Curtesy of Skryte
Places covered in ash. The wastelands in the wastelands. Nothing lives there, only the black seas of the Epidermites. Even if they were to leave, there are high concentrations of Jecara lix, and in some deadzones, Ashen.
Forests of Ash
The forests are dead. The trees are dead, nothing else lives there but the Timberstalks. It is said, that deep in the Forests of Ash, life is starting anew. Green, in fields of ash. Good luck traversing past the Timberstalks and Bushelsnaps.
Sometimes the winds carry the whispers of long dead expeditions, or sometimes, the whipsers of what the wasteland was before the event that turned it into the wasteland.
City 51- City 51 was the third city established by the Beranumin Paraliment also known as the Six Point Star for the the six out lying cities, including City 51, and the center city as the capital. City 51 was struck by a recent outbreak of The Ashen and thus was shut out from the rest of the Beranumin Paraliment. It has been led to believe that despite the qurantine The Ashen has gotten out and is now in the possiblity of spreading to Challum, it's close neighbor. City 51 use to be a bustling city of amazing engineering with large poritons of the city underground instead of above ground, those parts that were above ground were generally small wind turbine like structures which powered the city.
Beaulluve- The offical capital of the Beranumin Paraliment and the only known of the seven cities which has been known to figure out an ancient techonology which allows them to power the city with the power of the sun. These inventions have been spread out into the surrounding areas of Beaulluve and some of them have been place on the rooftops of the city. The largest building is a steel tower which holds the Paraliment and Overseer of the Enforcers himself, General Volitan. It has three entrances; one entrance which is underground, a second which is a gate heading from the south side of Beaulluve or north from Challum, and a third which is via air ship over a massive chasem.
Areas of blurs, and these blurs kill. The blurs are like minefields of elemental chaos, created by what turned the place into a wasteland. The blurs do not 'activate' until something triggers it. Examples of these anomalies are slicing winds, electric fields, and fire towers.
These are places that are inside Challum and will be noted sometimes in the roleplay.
Lu's Lucky Guns- Located in the Tagrin district of the Undercity. It is ran by the character Luceil Teggs and sells guns to the rebellion, gangs, and such people.
Tagrin District- This district is one of the three where the lower class and middle class are known to live together. The items sold here are priced for both and more often than not have a few items your not likely to find in a lower class only district. There is a well known gun shop called Lu's Lucky Guns which is known for not only gun quality but also the fact that the shop is ran by a woman.
Garthem- The darkest of the lower class only districts in which resides those who have horrible jobs and the living conditions are unbareable. Those who live here have given up on trying to earn enough money to pay for their passage into the lower class and middle class districts. This is where those who's dreams have been shattered go to die and those who wish to see no light in their last years live. Few have escaped the clutches of Garthem to make a name for themselves. One such person is Luceil Teggs who now owns a gun shop in the Tagrin district and a person by the names of Andrew Cellein, a carni of the Carnival de Beautif who seems to be quite the inventor.
Taloz- Taloz is home to the upper class and nobody but the upper class. This district has the largest amounts of steam powered lights and fans to keep airborne toxins out and keep it bright and beautiful. It even has showers in every household and the Mayor's office. The High Enforcer's office is located here and also post office.
Character Sheet: This thing is somewhat limited right now.
Class: (Lower, Middle, Upper, or Carni.)
Occupation: (Jobs are varied depending on class, most upper's are aristocrats or married to one while some middle are enforcers[guards] and the lower are mainly manual labor.
Bio: (Flesh it out if you want or keep it a secret to be shown in a later post.)
Apperance: (Pic or discription.)
Name: Jeremiah Erasmus by
Class: Middle, siding more to the upper though.
Occupation: enforcer, although he is helping the rebellion
Bio: Jeremiah was born to an enforcer father. His mother died during child birth and as a result Jeremiah spent a lot of time on his own. He was told to stay inside their home at all times but he usually escaped through the window and such so he could play with his friends or just explore. One day he made his way to the poorer part of town though, where disease and violence were natural parts of life. He almost began to cry, that is until something grabbed his shoulder. His father was making his route in that quarter and had found Jeremiah. He scolded him before sending him home and scolding him again when he got back.
Years later when Jeremiah was 19 he joined the enforcers with recommendation from his father. He had secretly been helping the gangs and groups of the lower city in hopes that they would make a difference. He had done that for years and still is. He had gradually raised through the enforcer ranks and is now a trusted member of the enforcers so much so that they let him walk freely most of the time.
Personality: Jeremiah is usually serious and soldier like. He usually wears a frown if not a neutral smile. In combat though he is rather brutal and angry to the point of beating enemies to death with his fists if it were to come to it. That's not to say he isn't kind though, he usually helps the poor as much as he can and tries to make as much difference as he possibly can.
Name: Count Caim Caerleon
Class: Upper, Siding with rebellion.
He hopes that by siding with a successful rebellion he will be able to throw his rivals in the boiler/steam business out of power and therefore create a monopoly in the post-revolution city.
Occupation: Boiler plant owner.
Personality: Arrogant and self-interested, Caim sees the social climate in the city as something conducive to his master plan of economic subversion. Highly manipulative, he goes to great lengths to influence the actions of others, pushing them to meet his own end needs. When not in the business of controlling mindless pawns, he can be found to have a rather odd and sadistic sense of humor.
Name: Alex Sullam
Occupation: Alex is a leader of a lower gang, making himself some serious money, however he stays in the lower area’s as he knows nobody would mess with him or his gang. (I can change this if needs be)
Bio: To be decided later
Personality: Alex is a brutal man and to him the end always justifies the means. He is a confident man and can almost seem cocky; he even seems to be able to keep this up even in the most drastic of situations. He has not decided yet whether he is pro rebellion or not but is always willing to use his gang, extensive network of information and his money to get his way.
Other: Nothing to add.
Please let me know if there is anything I need to change
Name: Noximilien "Nos" Coxen
Class: Middle Class
Occupation: Military Combat Engineer
Fireteam Ira, Squad Hraxis, 4th Combat Ingenery Section, 5th Platoon, Bravo Company, 1st Battalion, 4th Regiment "Animus Vox", 51st Legion "Last Chance"
Bio: Nos had a very uninteresting and uneventful history until he joined up with the military, where he excelled at Combat EOD and Engineering. Even then, his service time is pretty uninteresting as well. The military is horrendously underfunded, with the Government preferring to borrow the better trained and equipped Enforcers from rich fat cats. Very few military Legions are still active, these few Legions were the best in the military, refusing to die out with a whimper.
-At most two fireteams will be under my control, totaling to 8 troopers with mixed skills and weapons. One fireteam will always be with Nos, the other will usually be doing something else, as with the rest of the Legion
Love To Write:Spoiler
Name: Luciel Teggs (Though all who know her personally call her Lu)
Class: Lower Class (on the side of the rebellion)
Occupation: Gun Smith. Luciel is famous for her guns. Each one is different and some hold surprises that other guns don't. (I.E. Mini rockets, a collapsible double barrel, hidden knife, compartments to hold extra ammo or trinkets...etc.)
Bio: Luciel was born an raised on the streets of Garthem in the undercity of Challum. When she was 15 her parents died of Jecara Lix and she was left with the remants of her father's gun shop. She sold everything and took the money she had to start a new gun-smithing shop in the Tagrin District where many middle and lower class dwelt together. She name the shop Lu's Lucky Guns.
Now, eleven years later, she has a profitable business of creating and selling guns. You want a unique gun that can't be found anywhere else? Lu can make it. She's won't turn down any customer even if they be known criminals or mob-bosses.
Apperance: Luciel has choppy short black hair, dark green eyes and is well muscled. She prefers pants to skirts and blouses and vests to corsets, (much to her mother's chagrin when she was alive). Her mother often complained she dressed to much like a man but that didn't stop her. Lu is currently wearing a long sleeve green blouse with a leather vest and loose brown pants.
Personality: Luciel is a tomboy in all senses of the word. She is quite often upbeat and lighthearted. But she is no pushover either. She's had plenty of experience dealing with mob bosses who wanted a piece of her or tried to force her in giving them guns for free. Many a man lost a finger to a knife or an ear to a gun, when dealing with the Gunsmith before she managed to solidify her reputation. Now...even most of the fiercest criminals respect and fear her.
Other: Luciel has no love for the upper class, knowing first hand what the lower class has to go through to survive. She is determined to help supply the rebellion with her weapons when the time comes to fight back.
Flower Maiden Cheza:Spoiler
Name: Sonya Telkins
Occupation: Adventuring Saleswoman
Some people had it easy. Some people didn't. Then some people had the middle road. Sonya was possibly one of those that didn't have it easy, but that wasn't because of the lower city. No, she wasn't any class -- so how could she be bad off, you say? That's not entirely true -- not having it easy doesn't necessarily mean one is bad off. There wasn't anything off about her birth, no defects. However, the one thing that made her life difficult was where she was born. No, not in the city. Instead, she was born out in the wastes.
From an early age, the girl learned about critters, diseases and places of the wastes, learning how to take care of herself in the unrelenting ashes. What she could eat, what she could drink, how to kill this critter, how to deal with that one. She even learned how to craft survival gear. At the tender age of 12, she had already crafted a hunting knife capable of piercing tough hides and goggles to protect her from and see through the billowing ash, and in the dark. That, and it could detect range and such. Many different functions, but wasn't the most aesthetic. You didn't care about that in the wastes. By the age of 16, she had crafted her own pistol, capable of shooting bullets strong and fast enough to pierce the metallic hides of the more dangerous beasts. She started crafting special ammunition, such as those that exploded after a time.
However, at the age of 17, her parents caught the Ashen disease. Fortunately for her, she noticed their symptoms early, but unfortunately for her parents, they were far from any medical assistance, and they weren't doctors. In order to not catch the disease herself, she had to leave her parents, putting a bullet to them in order to stop their suffering.
She has taken their trade, pillaging and looting forgotten cities for wonderous treasures. Challum has interested her for a while, and with the Carnival fast approaching, Sonya decided to make a stop. Who knew what they would bring. Perhaps they could even make trades...
Sonya is hardened from the land of the wastes, but that doesn't mean she doesn't enjoy a good laugh. She is quite robust, and if one heard of her from a friend, they might not think she was a woman at all. She often hangs around men, but not to flirt -- instead, she issues challenges, drinks with them, and laughs boisterously with the best of them.
At the same time, her mood can drastically change. It may sound a bit cliche, but she does have that hardened side. She often refuses to court anyone that doesn't share her sense of adventure, and isn't exactly afraid to smack anyone that annoys her. Talk about the wrong thing, and the least she'll do is completely ignore them and become melancholy. The worst she'll do is shoot them on the spot. Or stab them if guns aren't allowed where she is. Or punch their lights out if stabbing isn't allowed (or possibly kick their balls if they're male).
A merchant that usually sells things the Carnies do, but more regularly. Also good for stories of her exploits
Name: Andrew Cellein
Bio: Andrew was born and raised in Garthem, a lower class only district of Challum where his parents died when Andrew was 14. After that he got a job working for a clock maker who noticed his talent with mechanics. Looking for a better life Andrew joing Carnival de Beautif and worked as an inventor/manual labor/ tecnician for the Carnival.
Personality: Andrew is nice but very socially akward. He leans more towards being alone and working on new inventions or steam engine designs rather than being around large crowds. When talking to any person wether they are nice or not, Andrew often stutters or stops mid sentence and does something else. He does get angry and people who think he doesn't deserve to be an inventor since he grew up in Garthem and was born as a son to a pipe repair workman and a whore. Andrew does tend to over analize people when he first sees them.
