2020, two years before The Spread...
The metal elevator doors slid open, revealing a slender, nervous man. Being no older than thirty, with his short brown hair and still youthful features, his expression was marred by a worrying thought: Was he getting fired? Demoted? Laid off? What on Earth could he, a gofer, be doing in the CEO of Paradigm Industries' office? Tentatively stepping into the modern chic office, the gofer spoke up. "Y-you wanted t-to see me, M-Mr. Grants?" He stammered out, standing behind a pair of black leather chairs. The chair behind the large, mahogany desk swiveled away from the window wall portraying New York's evening skyline.
It's inhabitant was an ambitious looking, middle-aged man. His graying black hair was kept in a slicked-back style, one that matched his cold steel-gray eyes and suit. At first, his gaze was belittling, but quickly softened, making way for a smile to creep across his formal features. "Ah, yes. Mr. James Ford. Please, have a seat." Grants motioned to one of the leather chairs, and James took a seat. The leather was real, genuine leather. Something about that put James off even more. A beautiful woman with cascades of chocolate, curly hair, tropical features, and tan skin came out of a side room, from a door that was hidden as a section of wall. She wore an expensive black dress and heels, and she was carrying two glasses of champagne.
She set one on Mr. Grants's desk, and gave the other to James. A bit bewildered, James took it with a 'thank you' and the woman stepped into the corner. Grants took a sip, and looked Grants in the eye. "Don't worry, Mr. Ford. Your job isn't in peril. Quite the contrary. We have for you an amazing opportunity for advancement." He said, which James was relieved to hear. "Oh, thank you, sir! If I may ask, what is this 'advancement'?" James inquired, suddenly not so nervous. He took a sip of the champagne, which must have costed at least half his salary. It was exquisite, and something about it made his tongue hum.
"Glad you asked. You see, the promotion I wish to offer you is one of immense importance. I'm talking a leading role in changing humanity for the better. But first. let me ask you something; What do we do here at Paradigm?" Grants questioned.
"Well, sir, Paradigm is the global leader of nano-technology and genetic research. We study the DNA of humans and animals to improve life and eliminate genetic deformities." James replied, caught a bit off guard with the question with an obvious answer. While some didn't like that Paradigm "played God" in some respects, James admired their work. It was why he worked there.
"Excellent. Right on the mark. Now tell me, why is our company named Paradigm Industries?"
"Because the company's goal is to set a new pattern and standard of human life across the globe. One that will better mankind and bring us closer to the future." Another question every Paradigm employee should be able to answer.
"Very knowledgeable, Mr. Ford. It's a bit of a mystery why you're still a gofer. But that changes today! You will take that first step towards a brighter future. The name "James Ford" will be heralded as the bringer of prosperity to our race!" Grants looked completely serious, sounded as such too. However, James just couldn't believe it. What did that mean? And wouldn't someone above him, like his boss, Mrs. Springs, take this promotion before him? Maybe they thought Mr. Grants was joking. It surely sounded like it. James knew that he should play along anyway. All of a sudden, a bit of ringing started in his ears and a slight headache crept into his head. "Um...thank you, sir. Surely, it is a great honor. But how would I, some simple pencil pusher, bring about a new age? How would I possibly do that?" James wondered.
"Oh, my boy, don't fret! You've already taken that first step." Grants grinned as he slid a cover on his desk back, revealing a keypad-locked button. "You have taken in the gift of the Universe. Now, you will pave the way for the future." His hand quickly input a code, changing the buttons color from red to green.
James was bewildered once more. Darkness was beginning to fill his vision. He'd been drugged. Or had he? What was going on?...
Grants pressed the button, and the thoughts were drowned out by agonizing pain.
James Ford was the first Harbinger. But he was certainly not the last.
James was only a stepping stone for Paradigm. A guinea pig for their latest endeavor: Project Prosperity. Prosperity is a serum, composed of molecules emitted by an other-worldly artifact known as The Reactor. It was found at the bottom of the Pacific, and after some research, scientists were able to activate the ancient stone rings. They began producing particles that could interface with just about every molecule on Earth, including human DNA. Once they figured this out, the next step was to test it. And who would miss some gofer? Once administered, James's genome was rewritten, and some specific coding was added. Specifically, the ability to direct and stimulate the Reactor particles.
He could control fire, create barriers of energy, interface with computers through touch...almost anything you could imagine. However, the particles wreaked havoc on his mind. James lost his sanity, and was put into solitary for a year after he was turned into what Mr. Grants was calling a Harbinger, one who would usher in a superior race of beings. The scientists found that James could only use his powers when particles were in the air, and once this was discovered, his cell was scrubbed of them. However, they rushed one such screening, and so carelessly missed a few. With these, James blew apart his cell, and headed straight for the Reactor Chamber.
While a sane person might have destroyed the device, James had a different idea. His body was quickly turning into something...not human. He wanted to survive. And what better way than to ensure he could use his powers anywhere in New York City? He easily tore open the containment chamber, and the resulting reaction from the particles escaping caused a huge explosion. This sent the particles all over NYC, in an event now deemed by Harbingers as The Spread. James Ford escaped soon after, disappearing into the underbelly of the city. Paradigm lost their Patient Zero, but they knew that Prosperity was a success, if used correctly.
New subjects, who thought they were being immunized for a new strain of influenza, were exposed to Prosperity. This was the only way to induce Harbinger abilities, as simply breathing the particles is not enough. Soon, there were many Harbingers. At least one-thousand. Some chose to join Paradigm, others...well, they took to the streets, creating rebel groups. They didn't want another Holocaust, with Grants trying to dominate mankind with his "ideal image".
Now, in 2022, the conflict has been made public. Harbingers are feared, and ostracized from social circles. The populace does not trust them, and steers clear when showdowns between the rebels and Paradigm take place. Even the military cracks down on rebels, being paid off by Paradigm. It's looking bleak, but there is talk that one group of vigilantes, Pantheon, is on the move, and that they have a plan that will make Paradigm grovel for forgiveness. But that's just rumor...right?
The RP will start two days before an expected show down between Pantheon and Paradigm over a delivery truck holding some major components of Prosperity.
Harbingers are humans who have been exposed to a concentration of Reactor particles, along with a various cocktail of genetic agents. After a recovery period of about 6-7 days, as the transformation is quite painful, Harbingers are able to interact with the particles the Reactor produces. These particles, referred to by some as Reactites, are able to attach and manipulate just about any molecule on Earth, if charged with the correct form of energy. Telepathy, fire manipulation, flight, and animating objects are just a few of the possibilities. Anything you can think of, it's likely that these individuals can perform it. Harbingers are usually only skilled in manipulating two fields of energy, meaning they normally have two powers. If a Harbinger uses their powers too much in a short amount of time, they will experience severe fatigue. It may even accelerate the change to Shifted, explained later.
Harbingers may also be more sensitive to outside stimuli. Due to the Reactites binding with their DNA, Harbingers have a heightened sense of awareness, and can sense concentrations of Reactites quite easily. This comes as either a light-headed feeling or a tingling in the fingertips, for low concentrations and high respectively. Because of this heightened sense, some Harbingers may be more sensitive to pain. A side effect of the immense power they wield.
However, the Reactites have a price. They will either take your sanity, your humanity, or both. It could take years, or days. The Reactites seem to slowly completely change the DNA of a person into that of a species not of this planet. It is unknown exactly what causes this, but it is postulated that using abilities too often will accelerate the process. The few that have been seen are simply deemed the Shifted. Shifted almost all look similar, with slender bodies, purple skin, and solid black eyes. While their powers are stronger than a normal Harbinger, they often are extremely paranoid and hide in the sewers. They are also physically weaker, losing muscle mass and bone structure to the Reactites.
The only way to stop a Harbinger or Shifted from using their abilities is to clear the area of Reactites. Paradigm has developed inhibitors that absorb them, and they use them actively. Some stores and buildings in the city have commercial versions that help to protect their establishment. It should also be noted that the highest concentration of Reactites is NYC, and it is nearly impossible to utilize abilities to their fullest beyond the state of New York. Because of this, Harbingers sometimes carry vials of particles for one use of their abilities, in case of emergency. Reactite nullification fields still work on them, however. If a Harbinger is placed in an area with no Reactites for too long, weakness will set in.
Pantheon- One of the most active rebel groups at the moment. They are a relatively small force, only totaling in at about twenty, but they are quite skilled, and are a force to be reckoned with. While consisting of mostly Harbingers, they do have a few human members.
Guardians of Eden-A radical group hell-bent on restoring humanity to it's purest form. The only reason they are under the Harbinger label is because a few Harbingers are among their ranks. They seek to become human once more, before the change to Shifted takes place. The Guardians are scarcely heard of outside of a few demonstrations here and there. They prefer to work behind the scenes, and have been known to co-operate with Pantheon and other groups.
Devil's Advocates- A group of reckless punks that are intent on just causing trouble. They rule the seedier districts of NYC, and are known in the drug trade and other illegal activities. Rumors even say that they distribute an addictive form of Prosperity, that has been causing the population of Shifted to sky-rocket.
The Seven Trumpets- These seven Harbingers are considered more or less a terrorist organization. Regarded by some as the most powerful Harbingers, these crime lords are dead-set on retrieving the Reactor for themselves and using it to create their "new world order" through Armageddon. They only make themselves known through cyber-terrorism, but it seems that they are stirring as well...[For story purposes, please PM me if you wish to be a part of this group.]
The Pilgrims-A peaceful protest group, although they are not above self-defense. They have many Harbingers who practice healing through Reactite bonding and flight, making them seem like angels to the homeless and destitute of NYC. They often hold charities and events, but Paradigm isn't too concerned with them.
More to be revealed...
Paradigm is the leader in nano-technology, and has been responsible for most advances in curing cancer and repairing damaged tissue with nanobots. They also have created prototypes for computers integrated into the human brain and solid-light interfaces to replace the glass holo-screens used around the world, among countless other things. It's founder and CEO, Professor Kayne Grants, has been regarded as a visionary, and has won a Nobel Prize for his innovations. After losing his son to a genetic illness that wasn't on record, Grants pursued finding a solution to genetic flaw in humans. Once a firm dealing in deep sea exploration, which was affiliated with Paradigm, discovered ancient rings at the bottom of the ocean that emitted bizarre energy signatures, Grants snatched it up. He discovered it's potential, activated it, and set out to create the perfect human. What's left to see, however, is if he will succeed.
The focus of this RP is the two sides facing each other, Pantheon versus Paradigm. However, this does not mean that it will be 100% action all the time. Between conflicts, it will pretty much turn into sandbox, where characters can do what they like until the next big mission comes up. Sure, you may think all rebels have to eat, live, and breathe their cause, and while that may be true, constant fighting and conflict won't really allow for character development. I want relationships to flourish, backstories to be fleshed out, and fun times to be had. So think of this as an Action/Sandbox hybrid. Characters can be made for any side, even unaffiliated, if you so wish. I will try to keep all sides involved.
1. The basics. You know, no godmodding, metagaming, etc.
2. Overpowered characters will spontaneously burst into flame, and cannot be put out. They will burn to a shameful cinder. I will warn you first, so you have a chance to correct this.
3. I don't care about age for this one. If you want to play some little kid, go for it. It'd be interesting. Just be aware of what that means. If you're 10, you won't be as skilled as someone that's 30.
4. You can have max 2 powers. If this survives, or even starts, that may change. So don't fret.
5. My word, and any one I may appoint as Co-GM, is law. I'm not strict, but don't go around and ruin things for people.
6. If you are going to kill a character, you MUST have that player's permission.
7. No powers relating to time manipulation. There are plenty of alternatives. This also applies to powers that control "metaphysical" forces, such as life and death, the soul, etc. For the purpose of this RP, these things do not exist at a molecular level, and therefore the Reactites cannot manipulate them.
8. This OP and the rules may change. Check back often!
9. This RP will be High Casual. Meaning, I expect 2-3 paragraphs minimum. Acceptable grammar and spelling are a must-have.
Affiliation: (With one of the Harbinger groups, Paradigm, etc.)
Personality: (This doesn't have to be long. Just a general outlook.)
Harbinger Abilities: (If applicable. Having trouble thinking of a power? Click here.)

Other: (Anything else?)
Name: Cara Grants
Cara is 5' 10", with short, bleach blonde hair, cloudy gray eyes, and a pale complexion. She can most often be found with a stern, yet caring expression. Her skin isn't clear of blemishes, as she has multiple scars on her arms and legs, which she covers with her long black pants, and black turtleneck long-sleeve shirt. She prefers combat boots to heels, and brass knuckles to rings. Like almost any other rebel leader.
Affiliation: Head of Pantheon
Bio: Cara Grants was daddy's little angel. She lived with her father, mother, and little brother Zack in New York City. Cara did well in her classes at school, but she wasn't a genius or anything. Her brother was the one that was a genius. When Cara was 16 and he was 13, he was still blowing her out of the water in algebra. However, when Zack was 14, he contracted an undocumented illness. It was far more ravenous than cancer, and he had only a week before he passed. This tragedy created a rift in the family, as everyone grieved in their own way. Cara's mother cooked the same amount, always setting a plate for Zack. Cara wrote in her journal. And her father immersed himself in work.
He began searching for ways to make humans essentially immortal. Kevin Grants did not want the same illness to befall his beloved wife or daughter. Tirelessly, he worked, using his company, Paradigm Industries, as a catalyst for his frustrations and emotions. His employees believed him to be crazed, but were proven wrong when one day in the fall of 2019, they found it. Off the coast of California, Paradigm-sponsored vessels picked up readings from the ocean floor, emitting from an object of unknown origin. Once it was hoisted to the surface, and Grants made sure the media was ignorant, he began researching this new device. It was ancient, probably a few centuries old, and made of metals and components unable to be crafted on Earth.
Grants had dubbed it the Reactor, after seeing it's ability to react with Terran particles and create new, omnipotent particles. Grants also found that these particles could alter the human genome, which spawned his idea to create Harbingers. Cara and her mother were in the dark about it, but after the explosion that caused the Spread, it was hard to hide. Cara's mother felt like her husband had developed some kind of god complex, causing her to leave. Cara herself was also very cross with her father, and while she still cared about him, she felt it was best to just cut contact for a while. On her 24th birthday, Cara was scheduled to get her immunization for the new bird flu that had cropped up. After a week of recovery, she knew that it wasn't a flu vaccine, especially when she awoke to glowing strings emerging from her fingertips.
Outraged that her father would allow such an under-handed experiment, Cara decided to stand up. She found the early form of Pantheon, a small group with no real direction, and she decided to become one of them. Over time she assumed a leadership role, something she didn't expect to happen. Cara was able to recruit soldiers so easily, and she was able to lead her comrades into Hell and back with high morale. While some disagreed with her joining, as she was Mr. Grants' daughter, she proved that she wanted to bring him down more than anyone. However, whether or not she could kill him, should it be needed, remains to be seen.
Personality: Cara is a proactive leader, preferring to strike first and interrogate later. There is little room in her mind for fear, among the strategies and well thought-out plans. She will defend her allies and civilians without question, and is merciless to those that seek to harm innocents. It isn't hard to be friendly with Cara, as long as you aren't on the opposing side.
Reactite Transmutation: Cara is capable of bombarding objects with Reactites until they reach a desired shape (I.E. Making a smooth rock into a sharp stone knife). The finished product will not exceed the original weight or material. Cara must keep in contact with the object. This can also be used to simply destroy the object by scattering it's molecules. It takes time to make a reliable product.
Reactite Threads: By assembling Reactites into threads attached to her fingers, Cara can wield razor sharp strings that can extend up to twenty feet. They can be made dull to allow for climbing and can wrap around targets to hinder them. These strings retract and extend at will.
Other: Cara usually carries a 9mm pistol, brass knuckles, two vials of Reactites, a comm earpiece, and her smartphone.
Name: Jenna Waltser
Appearance: White hair, (Changes color with use of her powers, shifts to grey and black), She has purple eyes, thin and delicate, small to medium size bust. Physically she is very weak. 5’6 in height.
Affiliation: While she has been approached by some and chased by others she has no affiliation as of yet.
Bio: Not much is known about her as she tries very hard to hide her powers and even not be known as one who possesses powers. If anyone knows of she usually ask they not talk about her. The few times she ever used her power she left afterwards for fear of being found.
Personality: She is always nice and offering to do whatever she can to help people. Generally often sacrifices much to make others happy. She is only shy when it comes to people as details about her, otherwise she always warm with a sunny disposition.
Harbinger Abilities: Nullification – She has the ability to absorb the Reactites in an area and prevent powers for being used, other than hers. The area that is most easily for her to do is usually a room size but larger areas can be done with personal injury or extreme worsening of her condition to becoming shifted.
Transplantation – She can store some of the Reactites within her and in areas where powers would be difficult to use, she can touch someone and give them temporary access like a vial to use their powers. She may also use this to heal others but she gains part of the injury to herself, this is in the case of both mental and physical trauma.
History: Jenna was a great student and was considered very smart for her age. She loved the thrill of advancing past older students and eventually while in college at the age of thirteen she knew she wanted to go to medical school. She was able to go to medical when she was sixteen due to outstanding grades and personal letters of recommendation.
While in Medical school she slowed down so that way she would be more able to understand and commit to memory everything she learned. While she was there she grew am ever growing concern and drive to cure the world of the sick. It was before she accidentally got stabbed with a vial of prosperity that her whole life began to change.
Nothing was obvious at first. Since she was in a hospital, the really terrifying times were when those with powers were admitted to the hospital. Until the inhibitor was placed it was a very dangerous place. She was put into the ER not necessarily for how good she was at what she did, but for the fact that when she was in the room the victims and those with “gifts” would settle down and it would make them that much easier to cure.
She never understood why that was until she became nineteen. A group of people from Paradigm Industries came and said that they believed she was a special kind of Harbinger. One that could nullify the power of others. While they did not make it clear on what they wanted her for, they said that they would be back to check her answer the following day.
She had been informed to worry about GoE and other groups who may either want to kill her because of her power, or that she may be taken and used as a weapon.
She had never thought of her gifts to be used in such a way. Instead of taking them up on their offer however, she decided to skip work the next day and pack up her things. She left and then decided that she could probably not trust the Industry either and would go into hiding.
She headed to the only place she thought she could be of use, The Pilgrims…
Before she could even make it there however, she saw a news story that said her hospital had become under attack. She knew in the bottom of her heart that it was her fault. Whether or not, is still unknown to her but she decided that going to any official group would only bring them trouble and problems.
Now for the past year she has been running from place to place, eventually making it back around to NYC. She was a traveling saleswoman of Herbal and medical supplies and also went from place to place telling people there was a private doctor on the streets who was willing to attempt to sell medicine and doctoral work for a cheap price.
She made a living and had food in her pocket. Hopefully, things could remain that way from her. This last year she had managed to not be found out, but in such a big city, could she afford to hide her powers and remain hidden?
Skills: She went to medical school at age sixteen and so has some experience as a healer. She is very skilled with plants, as well as animals generally liking her. Her last skill is generally gaining peoples trust easily. She is a very good speaker and since she never lies it is very easy to tell when she does. As such most people enjoy and respect her.
Other: She has a soft spot for children and the sick, the sick she also includes the shifted as well into that. She has always wondered if someday, her powers get strong enough that she might be able to, with her medicine be able to cure them. That is her current life’s goal.
If there is an issue with any of this please let me know and I will try and change some of it.
Name: Alexis Maddox
Alias: Jill the Ripper
Appearance: Alexis stands at five feet and four inches in height. Her skin is lightly tanned, and her hair is a dark brown, straight and falling to her shoulders in length. She has an atheletic build, all her muscles being well toned but not too defined, keeping her feminine beauty intact. As Alexis, she wears various street clothes, such as sweatshirts and jeans. When she's going out as Jill the Ripper however, she dons a more suiting outfit. A combat suit, consisting of a pair of black leather steel toe boots, a pair of black pants similar to what the military wears, and a black tank top, complete with a mask to hide her face. In stark contrast to the rest of the suit, a white fox mask over the upper half of her face, with red markings over the eyes, as whiskers on the cheeks, and as a trim along the ears.
Bio: Alexis was just your average teen before she became a harbinger. She went to school, spent time playing video games or watching t.v., went to bars and clubs with fake I.D., etc. Once she recieved a dose of Prosperity during what she thought was a simple Flu vaccination, not much changed. Well, not much except the fact that static electricity seemed to become more of an issue for her. She couldn't seem to touch metal without getting a shock. Over time, this issue revealed itself as her unmastered control of electricity. She spent time learning how to use this ability, not wondering how she got it. After gaining a decent control over it, she began to use it for her own agendas. She struck out as Jill the Ripper, a name she left at all of her crime scenes. She broke into various stores, taking what she wanted, and slashing up anyone who got in the way with her knives, which she used to deliver deadly electric shocks. Eventually, Paradigm took notice of the Harbinger causing so much chaos, offering her a job as a security measure against a group or rebelious folk like her. She gladly accepted this offer, as it payed well and could help keep her safe from legal troubles that she might run into on her crime sprees.
Personality: Alexis is cold and calculating, no matter what persona she is portraying. Some would say she suffers from Antisocial Personality Disorder, though she says it frees her from a worthless concience and moral rights and wrongs. She feels no regret of remorse in any of her actions. This attitude does change towards those she befriends however, causing her to act kinder than she would to people she doesn't care about.
Harbinger Ability: Electromancy
Weapons: Twin KM 4000 knives, modified into trench knives
Skills: Alexis has trained herself in hand to hand combat, using both freestyle martial arts and boxing elements in her fighting. Along with this, she is a master with her knives.
James is a tall fellow with thin sinewy muscles and a black goatee sporting around his mouth and chin. His hair is black and slick and is usually in the classic style. His eyes are hazel and sharp, drawing the attention of most who look towards his unblemished, tanned skin. His eyebrows are moderately thick and are easily resting above his eyes, causing a slight wrinkle atop his slightly slanted nose.
His lips are full and are usually in the form of a small, sly, smile as if he were hiding something. He has a tattoo on his chest depicting a multi-coloured Chinese dragon breathing fire towards his abdomen.
James was born to one of the wealthiest CEO's in the country and a mother who whored herself in secret. He went to the best private learning institute in New York and lived a life of luxury and near oblivious perfectness. However, his life of happiness would not last very long; his mother's whoring cost her dearly when she slept with a powerful crime boss in New York. They said the only one more powerful than him had been his wife, and James's mother walked into her cross heirs. Within the week, his mother's body lay mutilated and floating in the Hudson river.
The grief his father felt became so much he eventually drank his life, his job, and his money away, leaving James with nothing more than a few thousand dollars by the time he died with James at the age seventeen. Angry with both of his father's and mother's idiocy, he decided he would spite them by becoming greater then they were, by surviving and removing their names from his. Thus at the start of his new small business he changed his name from James River to James Korey. Business was slow and dreadful and a debt that prevented him from making any sort of profit hung over his head.
At the age of eighteen he made no significant progress in his debt nor in his business, worse the bank threatened to foreclose on both his small business and home and without a way he started asking around until he heard of a vaccine for a new strange of influenza. James went with his gut feeling and took the shot not wanting to get a fever if he was forced to leave his home. Several hours after the shot however, when he was staring at a wad of cash when it suddenly started multiplying before his very eyes. Days later, after figuring out he had strange powers, he paid his debt in full and with the extra cash he invested in his business.
Two years later at the age of twenty, his business, Core Industries became International with branches ranging from pharmaceuticals to weapons manufacturing. James had become among the richest and most powerful CEO's in the country and became an instant enemy to Paradigm as he threatened to topple their empire and in turn ending their streak of making humans genetically superior. They tried to kill him multiple times and when that failed, they tried to sabotage his business, and even went so low as to frame him in an FDA scandal which he sued them for approximately 2.4 billion dollars.
When he heard of Pantheon several months after winning his money, he became interested in them and had a meeting with Cara, their leader, and promised to supply them with a confidential safe-house that was off the map somewhere under NYC, along with money, weapons, supplies, and if they required it armed men that would charge in with them for dangerous missions.
Most would say James is an exceptionally charming man. His smile will lower the defences of some and the way he speaks will take the defences down from the others. He knows he has a charming personality and usually uses it to get things that he needs, but never abuses it in a way that will benefit him and harm others, unless it could be justified for the greater good.
Not only is James charismatic, but he's wickedly intelligent, smarter than anyone would have guessed do to the fact he likes to hide it and act like the typical hot shot. His intelligence is on par with most PhD's and was once even offered to become a professor at the age of nineteen after graduating from Cornell University at the age of eighteen shortly before creating his business. However, when his intelligence is needed, he has no problem showing it, otherwise no one would ever recognise it.
He is a kind hearted person who likes to help all sorts of people, and believes everyone has some good in them. This isn't mostly naivety but more with trying to turn people towards good with compassion rather than brute force. He will only use his powers on someone as a last resort, after all reasoning has been exhausted. And even then, he only uses a portion of it for fear of becoming a monster alien forced to live underground in complete paranoia.
Mind Manipulation: James can cast illusions on a person by simply having them look at his eyes. He can also go into their minds, speak to them telepathically, and cause those who have lesser minds and aren't very smart to do as he pleases. However, those who are smarter, if he tries to influence them they will be able to resist, however they will get a nudging feeling at the back of their mind trying to push them towards whatever it was - the effect only lasts for a short while before disappearing.
Quantity Manipulation: James can multiply, divide, decrease, and increase in quantity all inanimate objects he encounters. A useful ability where he minimizes the cost of bullets drastically for Pantheon, and many of their other supplies. He has tried to multiply himself in the past but it proved far too difficult and he felt a heavy strain on his mental capacity, so in rare cases he opts to duplicate a shadow of himself that cannot move nor do anything, and only serves as a distraction. However, with the use of his mind manipulation, he can make the person believe his "shadow clone" can move, and often uses it with his other ability for that exact purpose.
Strategist: His strategy skills are off the charts. He's a grandmaster at chess, and beats computers that are meant to desecrate grandmasters.
He has a sever love of apple pie.
Name: Syaoran 'Little Wolf' Himura
Appearance: Despite the inference one might gain from his name, Syaoran is white-Caucasian in his ethnicity. Standing at a mere 5' 5" his name, roughly translated, is astoungingly apt and as such has become his nickname. His sandy blond hair is cut short, a number four to be exact, due to his distaste for the messiness long hair resulted in. Half-rimmed glasses counter his poor long vision which is so degraded that road signs a metre away become blurred blobs to him without his spectacles. Gazing calmly from behind his glasses are two stormy blue eyes, both hard as flint and soft as rain at all times.
Despite Syaoran's vertically challenged body he is of an athletic build, arms and legs in proportion to his torso and none of which lack for muscular power.
Bio: Syaoran never met his parents, nor did he know their names. He spent years wondering through streets, learning how to survive but always with one eye on his ambitions for the future. Taken in at an orphanage he was given his first name by a carer who found his tenaciousness in all things, even from an early age, amusing and admirable. After leaving the orphanage Syaoran took the carer's surname as his own, to reflect the familial tie he had formed with her in his few years there. He joined college at a late age but finished it in the space of one year, his ferocious appetite for knowledge surpassing that which the teachers could provide him with. He spent hours in public libraries and online resources studying the latest theses on eveeything and everythibg.
Lacking the funds or the connections to further his education, Syaoran spent his first years out of school working in various office jobs and quickly established a name for himself as someone who got things done quickly and right.
Donating most of his money to give those from his background an education he learned of Paradigm but thought nothing of them. After several children from his old orphanage disappeared after being selected for advancement under a mysterious programme, he made the connection between the programme and the Harbingers. Dropping his work, Syaoran left to fight Paradigm; unwilling to let any more of his charges be taken advantage of. His reasonably luxurious lifestyle was abandoned for a life moving from one place to another under the cover of darkness.
In charge of local strategy and also acting as a quartermaster for the resistance, Syaoran put his business contacts and knowledge of security holes in the city's trade network to good use. A leader on the ground as well, Syaroan has led several raids on Paradigm shipments and is becoming one of the most hardened young men in Pantheon.
Personality: Cautious, calm and collected. Syaoran is both a tactician and a strategist, able to think on the move but also plan well in advance as well. In his speech and mannerisms he is always calm, careful of what he says and mindful of the emotions of those around him. He cares deeply for his friends and his family with a close group of those who are especially important to him; his defence of this group is total.
Skills: Processing a lot of information quickly. Going unnoticed. Hand to hand combat (years of experience from being in violent and crime swamped districts as a child left Syaoran with honed instincts for fighting which he further developed in his first months fighting for Pantheon, especially where firearms are concerned.)
Other: Nothing as of yet.
Name: Sin Delox/???
Appearance: 5'9 in height, Sin has been losing weight for a while now, getting thinner and his skin is tinged slightly purple, while one of his eyes are already completely midnight black, the other still being his usual sea green, but getting darker as well. His odd look easily tells others that he is a shifted or at least starting to get close to being one. He has shoulder length wavy black hair that is often pulled back into a pony tail. His face is actually quite gender ambiguous although he has been noted to have childish features like big eyes and plump lips though it contrasts with the dark clothes that he often wears or actually anything he usually wears. Mostly tattered cloth from what he can salvage from others. He is mostly quite uderdressed compared to others and doesn't really care what he's wearing though he is almos always carrying vials of Reacties in whatever pockets he has on his being.
Affiliation: originally from Devil's advocate, Sin drifted from them and currently has no real affiliation at the moment.
Bio: Before the spread, Sinamoi Delox was growing up as normally as possible within an orphanage just trying to get adopted like any other kid. He was the few older kids there when he was whisked away at 17 by Paradigm, but was lucky enough to escape when the spread broke out before anything truly bad could happen to him, but by then he had already been exposed. For a while, he was left to wander the streets for he rarely ever used his powers and the researchers of Paradigm could not induce him to use them so he was dubbed as a 'failed patient.' It was only when he was alone did he ever 'practice' what he could do. He was truly horrified by how easily he could mentally damage someone and vowed never to do so. It was, however, for this power that he was once again swept away this time by Devil's advocate when they found him
Living a life of crime wasn't very hard for the first year, Sin could easily slip into the shadows and bend the mind of anyone who witnessed their crimes. It wasn't like he had anyo other choice in the matter. Slowly, he earned a name for himself and at the same time his sanity slowly slipped away as well, he wa nicknamed 'Devil's child'. Eventually, he found himself becoming a shifted, but by then it was really hard to muster up much care of it. One day, he just stood up and walked out of Devil's advocate's base and never came back. He began wandering the streets again, not quite yet living in the sewers. Occasionally, he does follow strangers, stalking them in some fevered pipe dream they would have an answer to his problems
Personality: insane. Well, actually half of him is. At least people often refer to him as a he. Over the years, Sin developed two personalities and due to how he looked no one was sure of it was really a boy or girl. The first personality acts decidedly more masculine, sometimes having a cold and sadistic personality. Luckily, this is the more sane side of sin and much more logical as well, but will usually only do things for his own personal gain. Often it has hidden motives for whoever he helps. The second personality is often less present but is also the completely insane side of him, childish, more feminine and hurting out of pure insanity or because it was deemed as 'fun'.there is absolutely no reasoning with this side of him though there is a chance you will escape unharmed if 'she' likes you.
Harbinger's ability: Shadow manipulation:Sin can use shadows as physical objects and blend in with them completely.
Mind warping: One of his more deadly powers that is strangely only ever present in 'her'. It is the ability to literally reach into people's mind and stir things around either making them insane or just damaging them mentally. It comes at a price though, not only to her sanity, but is so physically exhausting that 'she' has been known to sleep for days.
Skills-Silver tongued-Years under the Devil's advocate and taught Sin how to be manipulative to get what he wants, his looks don't hurt either but his sharp tongue and wit are what really gets to people. He could sweet talk a criminal into going to jail. That also makes him a manipulative bastard.
Thievery- A sharp tongue and quick hands are what you'll get after growing up in one of the biggest crime groups. If you find something missing, Sin often has it.
Name: Paris, the Prophet of the Sands
Sexuality: Mostly Straight
Appearance: Covered head to toe in garish yellow clothing that stings the eyes, Paris stands at 6`2 and has a slim but sturdy frame. The clothing is made out of strange linen that is soft to the touch but is effective at protecting against flame hazards due to it's extreme heat resistance. It provides little in the way of actual physical defense however. His garb covers almost all of his body and only leaves his eyes, his fingers and his feet exposed. Paris’ eyes are usually a bloodshot hazel and he is brown skinned judging from what is actually exposed on his body.
Affiliation: Guardians of Eden
Bio: Paris used to be a normal teenager, coming from a modest family in a middle class neighborhood. His father worked with Paradigm as security detail and his mother was a local church minister among the community, acting as a spiritual consultant to the less fortunate of the community. Paris attended the local school and found much success in Academics and Sports such as Track and Wrestling.
Then there was The Spread. Suddenly a new generation of Harbringers was born and what used to be Paris' life disappeared. His best friend caught the influenza and soon she grew sick. However, even after the 'vaccine' was administered, she still acted strange. She slowly started to drift away, becoming emotionally attached and apathetic. She began showing up to school less and eventually seemingly disappeared. Then six months after the vaccine was administered, she broke into Paris' house in the dead of the night.
Her new powers had cracked her mind as she wreaked havoc by manipulating the blood in his parent's bodies. He watched helplessly as his entire family was slaughtered almost instantaneously, the blood from inside of them exploding until the mutilated bodies of his parents and baby sister were unrecognizable. He fell into a seizure as she tried to kill him as well and visions of a world completely devoid of life, lands coated with magma and ice and seas of blood. He saw Harbringers used as human weapons exterminating millions. Mountains of corpses moving slowly as if they were great monoliths.
Though these visions were the delusions of a cracked and irreparably destroyed mind, they flooded him with a new energy and he pinned down his former friend and savagely ripped out her heart. Panicking, he fled the house and set it on fire to hide the memories of his past life and fled into the mighty embrace of the desert for six months. His visions nearly drove him mad as they compelled his body to move farther and farther into the great ocean of sand. He left a boy but came back as a prophet, scars and mysterious burns covering the parts of his body visible from his new yellow attire that acquired by using the plants of the desert to weave his clothing. He began killing Harbringers nationwide so the Guardians of Eden welcomed him with open arms. Working as a deadly hand of the faction, he has began his mission as a self proclaimed prophet 'cleansing' the nation.
Personality: Paris is a borderline sociopath but he is also a gentleman. He will challenge each Harbringer to fight on their own turf and he will give them a chance to pray to their God before killing them. He does not kill them to be malicious, he believes that if the new 'super race' is not exterminated they will end humankind. But he does not hate his enemy, he merely pities them. He sees his killings as merciful. He has a soft spot for women, often asking them not to fight him due to his extreme dislike of fighting women ever since he had to kill his childhood friend. But if push comes to shove, he will dispose of them. He believes himself to be a prophet and he is acting as a Hand of God by killing Harbringers. Around regular humans he is playful, kind and gracious. He does believe in the survival of the fittest however and does not pity those who do not do what it takes to survive.
He often uses a spiked bullwhip that he keeps tied to his waist with deadly efficiency
Other: "I will give you a minute to ask your God for forgiveness before I send him to Him personally."
Name: before the Spread, he went by Rybesh Shrybe, but after becoming a Harbinger, he adopted the name Haphaestus, after the Greek god of fire, among other things
Affiliation: Pantheon (duh)
Bio: Before the Spread, Rybesh was convicted of arson as a result of him indulging his liking of fire. It really was an accident, you know? With a little damage to his psyche, he managed to restrain his pyromaniacal tendencies in order to get parole. One day he was approached by some random guy in a once-nice suit that had become tattered with a briefcase who asked him, "You want the powers of a god?" Of course, Rybesh accepted, and after recovering adopted the name Hephaestus. When he realized that his pyromania was getting worse, he started to blame the man in the suit, and eventually found Pantheon. With some digging around, he found out that his man in the tattered suit was actually a rogue agent from Paradigm, which simply fueled the flames of his irrational anger towards him, since he wasn't even a legitimate source of Prosperity.
Personality: A little unstable. More than a little obsessed with fire. Always keeps something around him burning, but he usually doesn't use his abilities to light a fire unless it is necessary. Fire is a really good way to either calm him down, or send him into a frenzy. However, he also knows how to keep control of the flames without the use of his powers, and he tries to avoid lighting things on fire in such a way that he burns down a building. He also avoids burning children, pregnant women, and squirrels. Any other animal is fine, but he won't burn squirrels (not even he knows why).
Harbinger Ability: He focuses solely on the control of fire, and loves every second of it.
Skills: Before becoming a Harbinger, he was already a bit of a pyromaniac, so he was really good at starting fires with almost nothing.
Other: Did I mention that he likes fire?
Name: Victor Smythe, however he goes by the moniker of 'Fade'
Appearance: Armored: http://static.comicvine.com/uploads/...07215-lms1.jpg, Unarmored: http://pt.my-walls.net/wp-content/up...-compridos.jpg
Victor is a tall man, standing at 6'7". His hair is a dark brown color and is styled in different styles. His eyes are an intense silvery-green color. When not wearing his power suit he usually wears a black or dark gray suit with varying colors of shirts and ties. When out of work, however, he wears a black leather jacket over a Henley shirt with black jeans, and leather shoes.
Bio: Before the Spread, Victor lived a relatively normal life as a member of the SWAT Team. He was effective at his job, achieving the rank of Captain and being put in charge of Echo Squad. In the meantime he was married to high-school sweetheart, Thalia and fathered a son named Alec. Trying to juggle a high-risk career and marriage put stress on Victor and the rest of his family, and after a botched mission resulted in the deaths of 3 of Victor's squad-mates and nearly the loss of his own life, his wife left him, unable to handle the danger. Feeling guilty for the destruction of his marriage, Victor became detached and cold, hiding his true emotions behind a business-like, uncaring facade. Appealing to a court, Victor gained joint-physical custody with Alec. When news of Paradigm Industries began rising, the SWAT ordered a mandatory physical for every officer so they could be given the new Influenza shot founded and sponsored by Paradigm Industries. After nearly a week of being severely ill, Victor awoke with new-found abilities and powers. Doing extensive research on Paradigm, he decided he would stop their radical notion and joined up with Pantheon. Offering his services as combat expert and vanguard.
Personality: Cold and calculated, Victor displays a very serious, business-like persona, which is used as a defense mechanism to hide his softer, more compassionate side. He is intelligent and charismatic. Typically watching events and only interjecting in a certain few. He is passionate about hunting Paradigm for what they did to humanity. However his own position as a Harbinger made him think humans are beneath him. However, underneath his cold, uncaring persona is a man saddened and broken from recent events. For those able to break down his barriers he is kind, loyal, chivalrous, and empathetic. Showing a very deep love of his son, who he ensured is kept safe at a hidden location.
Harbinger Abilities: Peak Human Condition: The Reactites inside Victor's body have given him strength, speed, stamina, senses, agility, reflexes, accuracy, longevity, durability, healing time, and combat skills that are greatly increased to a point that is borderline superhuman.
Weapon Proficiency: Victor's military training, as well as his reactites, allow him to be able to use nearly any and every weapon effectively in combat with little to no difficulty.
Skills: Mastery of hand-to-hand combat, use of nearly every form of weaponry, parkour and free-running, quick thinker, observation, charisma, leadership
Other: Victor's equipment includes, his armor, dual Kimber customs with hair-pin triggers, a black AK-47 equipped with a thermal scope, a combat knife, a gripless black machete with a paracord wrapped handle, grenades, spare ammo, and a grapple gun.
Victor's armor is a prototype for the Army and is heavily modified with night, thermal, and x-ray vision, an automated thermal conditioner that keeps Victor's temperature regulated , a breathing device that functions as a gas mask, making him impervious to any sleeping gas or toxins while wearing the helmet, a built-in targeting device, and a communications system inside the helmet.

Name: Jeremiah [REDACTED]
Affiliation: Seven Trumpets.
(Yep, Dub has a mysterious character~)
Appearance: Julian is a tall, skinny man, standing at about six feet tall. He has short brown hair that is unruly on a good day. His eyes are normally blue, but they can be changed at will due to a series of nanobots that he helped design, which add or remove the pigment of the iris. It can also add dye.
Affiliation: No affiliation yet
Bio: Before the Spread, Julian was a member of Paradigm's Research and Development team. Starting as an intern, he slowly worked his way over the years towards his goal: NanoTech. He was fascinated by any and all types of nanotechnology.
A few years after Julian became one of the leading members of the NanoTech division, the Reactor was found. Curiosity piqued, He decided to help research what exactly the Reactor was, and what it could do. He was not aware of Grants' plan of using one of their own as a guinea pig for the Reactites until after it had happened.
Displeased at Grants, but still curious about the Reactor, Julian requested that he be a part of Project Prosperity, and he soon learned all about how the Reactites gave Patient Zero, as he was called, his powers. As Patient Zero started to slip deeper into insanity. Julian's R&D team was given the task of creating nanobots that could scrub the Reactites out of the immediate area. They were quickly created, due to the fact that there were similar to the nanobots for cleaning up after oil spills in the ocean. Unfortunatly, due to one of the scientists being lazy, Patient Zero was able to escape and blow up the Reactor.
After Prosperity went public as a "vaccination for influenza", Julian kept a tab on some of the patients. The results of Prosperity were disturbing to him. Either sent straight into insanity, or becoming something that wasn't entirely human. Not only that, but the abilities that they were given seemed to be related to their personality. After learning about the side effects of prosperity, Julian soon learned that Grants was using Prosperity to create a "superior" race of humans.
Disturbed by how much the Harbingers were starting to sound like the Aryans, Julian decided that he needed to leave Paradigm, sooner, rather than later. He had heard about a resistance against Paradigm that were made up of Harbingers, so he decided that would quit with style. The night he left, he went into his R&D department and stole a case of Reactite scrubbing nanobots, as well as a vial of Prosperity that he was examining. He then went into hiding, took the vial of Prosperity, and waited until his recovery period was done.
Personality: He's a psychopath. When he took Prosperity, the empathy that he had for people disappeared. When he has his sanity, he remembers the morals that he had, and he will follow these morals, even if he isn't partial to them. When his sanity slips, he remembers his morals, but he doesn't care. There is one thing that both sides of him understand is his goal: to bring down Paradigm.
Extraction: Julian is able to extract and absorb the energy from molecules that the Reactites are connected to. He can break down what he's looking at, as well as what he's touching, but the energy that it takes to break down what he's looking at is usually more than the energy gained. This ability can be used to augment Julian's reflexes, senses, perception of time, or his body's natural healing abilities. He can give this energy to other people to help augment their abilities, but Julian uses this ability mostly to keep himself from slipping farther into insanity, or becoming a Shifted.
Detonation: Similar to Extraction, but instead of extracting the energy from the all the molecules and absorbing them, one molecule is given the energy of the all molecules around it, compresses the collected energy, then releases all of the energy in a blast equal to the energy of the object. Julian can hold off the detonation, but it can cause him to start to lose the grip on his sanity. The larger the object he detonates, the more taxing it is to him.
Can aggravate people easily.
Other: Once the trials were done, Julian got a Brain Computer Interface that he tweaked to allow him to control his nanobots with his thoughts. He could control other nanobots, but he needs to have the control module to sync the nanobots to his BCI. He also picked up a .22 calibre handgun in case Paradigm came after him.
Name: Silas Corby
Appearance: Standing at a mere 5'2" and weighing in at around 130 pounds, Silas doesn't strike an imposing figure. His build is lean but strong, with toned rather than built muscle and sturdy but supple limbs. Prominent cheek bones, a fine “button” nose and oval face combined with fuller lips and wide eyes give him a boyish charm that isn’t helped by his height. His skin is a lightly tanned olive that is smooth except for his hands and forearms, which are covered with a smattering of scars he gained from being too careless and curious around hot metals. His hair is a rich brown-black that falls to just below his shoulders, the sections at the temples are braided and pulled to the back of his head where they meet then hang to rest with the bulk of his hair, accompanied with two thin feathers. His round eyes are a hazy mix of grey and spring green and lined with thick, dark lashes
Since joining the Pantheon, his clothing has become designed for speed, maneuverability and comfort. Typically, his wardrobe is comprised of loose, tough pants tucked into knee-high boots and slim-fitting shirts, along with a belt that has various pouches holding scrap metals and various tools. He has also fitted himself with light-weight torso armor that he wears under his clothing. It is simply aluminum sheeting, but with his ability, it bends with his movements and is reinforced to withstand some blunt force and most slashing/piercing weapons when wielded by someone with average human strength. It cannot stop bullets.
Bio: Silas grew up in sunny California, where he practically lived behind the silver screen. Shadowing his father’s every step as he created prop weapons and armor for movies and reenactments, Sil learned much about the art and science behind metal craft and movie magic when young. As an adult, he moved to New York to attend an art institute, diving right in to classes on film, special effects and metalsmithing. He also took online courses in mechanics to further supplement his future career in set and prop design. Things were going well for him, at least, they were. Due to the “vaccine” that turned him into a harbinger, he dropped out of school and stopped all communications with his family, confused and terrified. After hiding in his apartment for some time, he came to terms with his new lot in life and joined the resistance. Though he now has a fascination and even slight elation towards his new powers that give him a connection with the shining metals he so loves, he is unsure and it often holds him back in training and in the full use of his abilities.
Personality: Sil is headstrong and usually rather upbeat, tumbling through life in what seems to be a haphazard manner. While he has a general care-free and “go with the flow” mentality, he works well under pressure, being able to think on his feet and improvise with ease. However, it’s hard for him to stay serious and focused for long, his mischievous nature and odd sense of humor being apt to shine through at any given moment.
Ferromancy/Ferrokinesis- The control over metals. Though Sil is not very practiced, he can potentially work with metals at a molecular level, exciting them to form different states (solid to liquid and vice-versa), densities and shapes. As of now, he can lift, bend, reinforce and weaken metal objects up to the size and weight of your typical home safe. The larger and stronger the piece, the less control he has. (Though most elements are technically metals, this power only refers to metals such as iron, copper, mercury, silver, ect. and their alloys such as pewter, steel and brass.)
Skills: He is nimble and rather flexible, able to squeeze, crawl, climb and jump to places many others cannot. He also has a knack for improvisation, being able to quickly analyze a situation and take advantage of his surroundings, finding make-shift weapons, traps and escape routes in everyday objects. Along with these talents, he has everything he learned in his two years of college. Practical uses include fixing and building simple machines, simple carpentry, and basic pyrotechnics .
Other: He is just learning combat skills, and tends to rely on using his shrapnel as a weapon/distraction before finding relative safety and using his ability on his opponent from afar. This does not mean he does not join and support fellow freedom fighters on the streets, though.
Name: Aran Seoul
Affiliation: Himself, Anyone who opposes Paradigm
Bio: Aran grew up in the seedier parts of New York along with his younger sister who he primarily looked after and cared for dealing in anything that could make them enough money to survive. His mother was a drug addict unable to support her family. Aran found himself living a life of crime to make ends meat. He learned many skills in this time including hacking and martial arts. Working for various underworld figures, and even what would later become the Seven Trumpets.
At the age of 18 he signed up for the military and learnt weapons handling and furthered his computer skills. He spent time in an elite unit too classified to have a name. They specialized in hostage extraction behind enemy lines and bringing mayhem any way they could, bringing down comms and assaulting hardened installations to retrieve illegal or lucrative tech.
When the Spread hit back home his unit was recalled back home to end the threat or die trying. They assaulted Paradigms headquarters and would have managed to bring them down if it had not been for the fact the military was already being paid off and they were betrayed the mission failed. Few of his unit made it out those that did were discharged and forgotten.
Aran having lost his job went looking for new work in the underworld once again picking up odd jobs before falling in with his former bosses now known as the Seven Trumpets. He took any jobs involving Paradigm making them his personal enemy. He took a personal oath of vengeance and will one day see it fall or follow his brother into death.
Paradigm eventually took note of him and with scare tactics used the world over they kidnapped her sister and had her killed. This only strengthened Aran's resolve and now he hunts anything to do with Paradigm and destroys it with any means possible. He is possibly the biggest non-Harbinger threat to Paradigm around.
Personality: Aran is very jaded by the world having had a hard life from the beginning and now with Paradigm breathing down his neck at all times things are no better. He is as a rule distrusting of newcomers and strangers always wary of spies and informants. Once someone has managed to gain his trust his sense of military camaraderie is strong and he will fight back to back until his last breath. He rarely talks about himself obsessing over all things to do with Paradigm.
Harbinger Abilities: N/A
Skills: Hacking, martial arts, Weapon handling.
Other: Carries a laptop, ammo, ration packs and a few personal effects all in a kevlar backpack(Laptop is important), an assault rifle, a sidearm.
Name: Sara Seoul designated “Souless”
Sara’s favourite colour is purple and everything she wears is usually a varying shade of it. She can usually be seen wearing form-fitting jeans, her favourite purple Converses, a deep purple scarf (A gift from her brother) and a casual top under a near black jacket. Her new tattoos are also purple and place perfectly to cover up her… changes. One eye has oddly darkened from its natural blue to light purple.
Bio: Sara grew up alongside her elder brother always in his shadow, looking after him as much as he did her, she was the one left to make a home in the rundown apartment building they lived in. Her brother managed to find her a tutor who caught her up to speed with the other teens her age and she found she was skilled with computers and loved to talk to people. Even doing a part time phycology degree. A year or so after her brother joined the military she took up a reception job, her love of talking to people made this an obvious choice in what unbeknownst to her was a subsidiary of Paradigm Industries.
Her company was bought outright by Paradigm only months before what would be known as The Spread, luckily she was one of the few who kept her job many other were simply taken into the head office and never heard from again. Soon after It hit her office building was assaulted by a Harbinger strike force. They attacked her but didn’t kill her one using his powers to hold her up high against the wall as they interrogated her, asking her all sort of questions to do with her bosses. After it all she was put on a leave of absence due to how she took it all suffering from post-traumatic stress.
During this time she took a vacation and with some money her brother had sent her went to visit cousins on the other side of the country. Which incidentally saved her from Paradigm’s office talk as they called her in only moments before she was due to jump on her flight, to which she politely declined until she returned.
In California she caught a news program telling people of an alleged rouge militant group assaulting Paradigm’s headquarters. Not a day later her brother contacted her and after hearing what he had to say she made the connection, her brother’s black ops unit had been sent at Paradigm and using plausible deniability the government had covered it up when they failed, sabotaged.
Her brother told her to go into hiding and she did flitting from place to place never staying longer than a day. A year and a half later they finally caught up with her; they captured her and took her back to NYC using her as blackmail against her brother. The next thing she remembers is waking up in a sewer her face oddly marked and body changed with many new scars and no recollection of it at all. Oddly nothing of the last year and a half remains even; from the moment of her brother’s call nothing. So she is now returning to her old work place to see if they will take her back thinking only a few months has passed.
Personality: Until recently Sara was a simple young girl growing up in the rougher parts of the city although always looked after by her brother. She was relatively sheltered and lived a normal life due to her brother’s work which of course she knew little about. She is shy and quiet for the most part but can be outspoken on a subject she cares for. She hates when people are hurting for any reason and will always give them a shoulder to cry on or a hand to hold.
Harbinger Abilities: Pain Inhibitor: Can block nerves in her own body and others if she concentrates. Although this can be dangerous due to blood loss if wounds are left unnoticed and untreated. She can fight on well past when a normal person would be rendered unconscious due to pain or lying on the ground moaning. Although by doing so she risks also worsening an injury.
Pain Infliction: Sara can cause anyone with reactites in them or simply nearby to curl up into a foetal position and want to die even in rare occasions cause cardiac arrest. With strength of will and depending on how much effort she puts into it this can be overcome. If she can be wounded while using this ability then she will feel it as it also seems to amplify her own perception of any injuries received while in use.
Skills: Filing, helping people, reading others, knows how to fight after backing up her brother in quite a few in the early days.
Other: Sara has not yet discovered her powers at all.
