Today I write this sitting at my desk in my new dorm room, my roommates nearby playing Minecraft and Smash Bros. It's a cloudy, rainy day in Asheville, North Carolina. The whole city is a higher elevation than I've ever lived at, by some 1,000 feet. It's not significant enough that I'm physically effected by it, however I have noticed how much more quickly water boils up here. According to a chart I looked up, water boils at a full 3.6 degrees F cooler up here.
I moved in on Friday, my whole family coming to help me move in and say goodbye. I've met quite a few interesting people so far, including my roommates and friends. The past two days has been little more than getting to know the campus, university policies, and the people around me. Tomorrow, I start my first real day of classes. I didn't even lose anything moving in(except possibly my headset, but I'm sure it's around somewhere, or back with my parents at home...).
Bottom line is I'm finally in Asheville, which is rapidly becoming my favorite city, I have a good place to stay, excellent food, and stable wifi. In addition to the higher education I'll soon be receiving, I couldn't ask for anything more.
