As the bell rang Rayne groaned picking up the pace and making her way into the change room. ‘Gym, English then home...’ The words ran through her head as she exhaled. With winter over and spring bringing the nice weather around Rayne considered maybe going out with Dalia for a walk or something. If she stayed home the atmosphere would be thick and depressing, she really didn’t need any more of that. Quickly changing into her gym clothes the tall dark haired girl stuffed her bag and slung it loosely over her shoulder. The class consisted of going to the field and choosing to play soccer or football. Soccer was the unanimous decision and the class felt like forever. Eventually Rayne was changing back into her clothes, the bell ringing as she was stepping out of the change room. The walk to english was quick, half way there she met up with her sister as they made their way into the room together.
Glancing at her sister she smiled. “How’s your day been Dally?” She asked as the teacher walked in late. “I was thinking that maybe we can go out after school, or we can drop our stuff off and then maybe head out? I dunno I just really don’t wanna go home.” She explained. The teacher cleared his throat as the whole class decided to look back at the two. Rayne exhaled sharply, he jaw clenched. The teacher smiled as the look of annoyance and slight embarrassment was evident on Rayne’s face. She didn’t talk much more throughout the class and when the bell rang she was the first one out. “I’ll meet you at the car Dalia.” She spoke and made her way to her locker. Putting everything she didn’t need away, Rayne shut her locker and walked to their car.
Lighting a cigarette she pulled her glasses on and leaned against the roof of the vehicle. She hoped that her sister would want to go out. It was Friday if she had any work to do for school she had another two days to do so. Tossing her finished cigarette aside she got in the car and started it. Disturbed blared on the speakers as she turned the music down slightly. Leaning back she waited for her sister, her eyes scanned the sky, clouds floating passed. There was a loud thud that startled her and distracted her thoughts as she jumped up in her seat. Looking ahead she saw the ball that rolled off and bounced away from her car. Getting out she grabbed the ball, a guy in the distance waving his arms and calling out for her to toss him the ball. Throwing the ball up she kicked it as it landed right next to the man who called out and thanked her. “Yeah yeah, whatever.” She muttered and turned around, making her way into the car once again.
