Bloodbound Sword - Extracia:
A type of Long Sword with a smaller hilt and crossguard for her wielding (see appearance for reference,) it is a custom-built weapon that can be handled in one hand or two. It is a weapon forged of her blood and bound by her lifeforce. While the hilt is about 3/4 of a foot in length, the crimson blade of Extracia (being made of crystalized blood) can change quickly, even becoming non-existant, (Max length of 10 feet.) Extracia acts like a magnet for blood and can freely store an illogical (but still limited) amount of it. Larka is able to channel her Crimson Crystal Carnage abilities through the blade, allowing other's blood to be used for similiar skills. However, these attacks will lack control, resulting in larger attacks that are more like compressed liquid instead of the regular crystal. While they can still cut to a lesser degree, this causes them to have blunt force. Additionally, because of the lack of control and liquidish state, blood attacks made by Extracia can be knocked aside or resisted more easily. If Larka gives her own blood to the sword, control is regained and any attacks using that blood (now crystal and not liquid) are enchanced in power. Her blood can be mixed in with others to give a lesser effect while allowing more attacks.
Because of the bond between sword and wielder, Larka is able sense where it is as well as tune in to what is happening in its surroundings. When her lifeforce in the sword connects with a victim while cutting, base feelings and information (Ex: Undead? A human? Being controlled?) are traded between the two. Sometimes, more complex information, such as thoughts, desires, pain, moods and memories will trade between Larka and her victim. Because this exchange is unpredictable and gives information about herself, Larka will usually not cut someone with Extracia unless she plans to take their life. (Lifeforce =/= Alive. Will still work on undead/elementals.)
OOC Note: Obviously I won't use this to make stuff up about more important things, and it will only steal useful information if permission is given. Feel free to use this as a plot device, or reveal the nice side of a villain being cut down, character relationship development, or anything else.
---General Physical Prowess
: Strength, Speed, and Endurance are all bolstered to a notable degree, though there are no exceptional traits.
: Forces oxygen through flow of blood, drastically increasing strength for single motion. Decreases strength afterwards, until she can get a few deep breaths.
: Makes her look cool. Also, allows for keeping pace when the odds are against her. Naturally with the title of 'Blade-Master', it's incredibly high.
---Tracking & Hunting
: Can easily catch a deer even without a bow, but not so good at cooking it...
: Raw meat, plain blood, and moldy bread are all easily digestable. Naturual Diseases are quickly stomped out.
Because of her ability, her body has developed concentrated blood, allowing her about thrice the normal amount.
: Although mostly used to control her blood system, Larka is also able to control her heart and other organs to a degree. (Nothing like hormones, but she can easily put herself to sleep, keep herself awake, focus on reproducing blood, or closing up wounds. It even allows her to prolong her life and looks! Fabulously!)
---Crimson Crystal Carnage
: The ability to shape and transform her blood into an extremely hard and resilient crystaline substance. When combined with the control of her blood system, it is a powerful ability in both offense and defense. However, because of the limited amount of blood as well as the side-effects that come about from losing it, CCC is best used against those few in number. Crystalization tends to occur inside her body, but it can occur outside as long as she is touching the blood in question or there is an unbroken link of blood. Offensive abilities are often pointy in nature. Defensive abilities are usually only 90% crystal, ,them slightly softer but allowing for slickness to deflect. Crystalizing blood inside of herself is a useful, but temporary defense. Prolonged crystalization can cause unconciousness or decay. Crystalized blood cannot return to normal blood at will, although Larka's blood can act like a solvent.
Larka's favorite attack is Blood Thread, which is rather simple and efficient. By building up pressure in one of her fingers, a squirt of blood creates and exits from a pinprick wound. This stream is crystalized on the way out, blasting a very small but sufficiently hard (and sharp) lance. Small and fast makes it hard to see, little movement from her makes it hard to predict, and multiple Blood Threads can be used at once or in succession. While it may not cause that much damage if it misses vitals, the thread often pierces through the victim and into the ground behind them, locking them in place. Has a range of 60 feet, although closer range has higher velocity/piercing power.
Larka's power attack is Dead Spear, which is named so due to the fact it usually kills what it hits. The first action is to form a spear of crystalized blood, taking about 30 seconds with a medium sized open wound. The make-up of this spear is special, being interlaced with normal blood and crystal blood, excluding the tip which is pure crystal. Naturually after it is formed, Larka takes aims and throws it with all her might, using Strength Burst for a boost in power. Another important part is the timing. It has to hit the target after three seconds of being formed and before the five seconds at which it breaks apart. Once it hits successfully, the point of the spear hits, causing a backlash on the rest of it. This finishes dissolving the links between various blood crystals, sending them all blasting forward like a shotgun blast while the point continues to pierce through. If the victim isn't impossibly hard, these crystals act as more like pinballs than a shotgun blast, repeatedly bouncing off of each other while cleaving through the victim. The same speck of crystal can pierce through multiple times by bouncing off of others. Because of the sheer amount of them, the target is often ripped apart to equally small pieces. Naturually, this attack shouldn't be used if allies are near the target.
: The true form of Larka's cursed body. Although it can be freely entered, she cannot easily return to normal. Increases her strength as well as allowing for a permanent form of Strength Burst, making her power truely monsterous. In addition, blood is rapidly regenerated, allowing for excessive use of Crimson Crystal Carnage. Extracia is also transformed into a more terrifying weapon, but retains its normal functions. The drawback of this transformation is a calm insanity that requires her to kill everything she sees while thoroughly, excessively, and completely enjoying it on both a mental and physical level. Perhaps the scariest part is that she retains her mind for the most part, allowing her to remain rational and keep technique. The method to returning to normal requires that either the mental or physical pleasures of massacre are put to a stop. Should one become stopped, the other fails on its own. Mental methods include unconciousness (excluding sleep,) forced removal of thoughts, altered conciousness, or lack of any sign of things to kill. Danger is not a factor, meaning burying her underground (or other similiar methods) is an option. Physical methods include exhaustion, severe damage, an inability to kill anything (restrained/weak,) or an oversaturation of pleasure (from killing or otherwise.)
Personality: Outwardly elegant and smooth, Larka is a bit rude and more than a bit self-centered. Inside, she's hardly more than a predatory animal. Kill, eat, sleep. Enjoy those to the maximum degree. Her interests are mostly battle-oriented, though she does have a passion for technology, even without understanding it much.
Bio: Although she doesn't like to talk about her earlier life, one with knowledge might realize that 'Snow' is the surname for a clan of demon and monster hunters. And if that person could feel energies, then it would reveal that the woman from said clan was cursed to be part demon. The tragic and heart-wrenching backstory could be assumed from there, though since the Snow clan was still alive, it probably wasn't too bloody.
A wanderer at first, Larka naturally fell into the mercenary's trade. She became quite famous and fought in many wars, but in a certain battle she had ended up killing both the allied and enemy armies. Shortly after that, her name became one best avoided instead of sought. It was also used to frighten children into eating nasty vegetables they didn't like. Regretting her actions (not by a moral standpoint mind you,) she decided subtlety was the best thing to find enjoyment. Seeing as how she was much sought as her previous job as a massacre machine, Larka turned to a lavish lifestyle in hopes of finding something entertaining. With no real purpose in life, that's all she was really after. And so she found out about the sport of competitive swordfighting.
Starting out small, she quickly realized that she'd have to keep physical abilities under control. And so it was that she began to build technique. It was revealed that she was a genius in the field, and when she (rarely) lost, there was often more learned than when she won. Of course, even being a genius, such skills didn't manifest in a single instance. The years past, and her name grew once more. Thankfully, it had been long enough that no one associated it with the massacre machine of old. And even if they did, her youthfulness made them think it over twice. Eventually the King recognized her feats and hired her in a position of teacher for his sword school. Years passed and the lack of challange made her rather dissapointed, but life was comfy enough. She focused on more slothful measures of enjoyment, her abilities declining into a placid dormancy. Because her youth never dissapeared, suspicion was placed on her. Larka Snow the Blade-Master and ever-youthful, was often the talk of those who knew her. The connection to her and the war machine was made, but it was only one rumour of many that tried to explain her prowess and youth.
Weaknesses: A rather base creature that revels in combat and nothing more. No real goals motivate her. She isn't too good at handling people, nor does she want to be. Although close to the King and Nobility, she's not trusted and is under suspicion for hardly aging over the years they've known her. Even worse, should a connection be proven to herself and a certain battle where she killed both every enemy and ally, it would shatter any reputation she has gathered. Despite being known as the Blade-Master, Larka has seen no real challange and so her skills have grown dull by living a life of luxory. Although its not a weakness, it should be noted that her body is that of a partial demon. As for her abilities, they are rather straightforward in how they work. Extracia (her sword) is useful against large amounts of enemies, while Crimson Crystal Carnage (blood abilities) is more useful against fewer targets due to the limitation of how much blood she has to use. Although her Cursed Form is powerful, it is ally to none and there are more than a few ways to revert her.
