Today, worldwide, the long awaited NeuroGamer is going to be released at the same time! Here in Japan it stores will open at 5:00 in the morning, however that hasn't stopped these devoted people from being the first to get their hands on one. Many were certain this console would have never been such a big deal were it not for the beta testers all worshiping the promotional game , Clockwork Lords Online! This Steampunk Fantasy MMORPG has been nominated the best of all time, due to the perfect immersion allowed with the NeuroGamer and its battle system. For the first time ever, you, the player, are the character!"
Worldwide this game had caused an uproar. News stations dropped everything to report on the massive turnout of this new game. No one would have thought one game could cause such commotion. However, the commotion that was to be caused by this game is not the release. Those who were lucky enough to receive the game, are those unlucky enough to play it. Coincidentally, the very company that created the game disappeared, completely unnoticed.
In the "Years of Darkness" man was ignorant and fearful. They were confused and knew little of their world, Horologium. There were kingdoms, but really they were merely the strongest people who claimed power. Man was afraid, and their "rulers" were unkind. They often would kill their subjects at random to display their power, and would force them to work in mines and fields. Kings though, wee also in constant fear. Other kingdoms were a constant threat. In this drive for power, none were safe.
In a large mine, deep within the Roloi mountain range, a man named Pulk was working. This man was intelligent, a rare trait for those days, and a far too under appreciated one. This man was simply mining, when a strange thing happened. After he had smashed a rock, a small cry was heard, and the pieces scattered all on their own. Pulk was shocked. He began looking around, and within the rock he had smashed was a small glowing crystal. It was beautiful, shimmering like a star. It's blue light illuminate the tunnel. Quickly he put it into his clothing. After his hard day of work he stumbled into his home, tired and beaten. He hid the stone in a wooden doll that he had and went to sleep. As he slept another peculiar thing happened. He heard something fall to the floor He looked down to see the doll climbing his bed. Frightened he knocked it off.
"My apologies master.. I must have done something wrong."
This doll was moving and speaking. These crystals gave life to inanimate objects This discovery marked the end of the "Years of Darkness"
In the years to come, Pulk had been looking for these crystals, and stealing supplies from the mines. He worked in secret, melting down the tools and supplies and ores to create bodies and weapons for his servants. He gave them the name "Clockworks" for the gears and automated parts within them. Ten years later, he had created a force able to rebel and took over the mines. The miners were all on Pulk's side and help him fight. They over threw the current king. However he stood no chance against the automaton Clockwork army the miners were creating. Pulk, now the new leader of the first nation known as Automina, wanted to change the world. He gave his knowledge to surrounding kingdoms. This ushered in a new age of prosperity. Though these kingdoms were never as successful at creating machine like those of Automina were, the knowledge of Clockworks allowed mare time for studies. This let magic to flourish and become a part of life, though some could not use it. These times were known as the "Years of Enlightening". Pulk wished to see continue to advance and achieve great things. He used his extensive knowledge of the stones and of the Clockworks and altered himself, creating a Human-Clockwork Hybrid. This was only the beginning of downfall.
As the years passed man did not grow, but instead began fighting once more for power. They had indeed grown in knowledge over the years, but the knowledge they know possessed was used to make war more brutal. They had developed flying machines, equipped with cannons and bombs that could destroy whole armies, and weapons that could kill a person from afar with a single shot. Pulk was horrified. He never wanted all this. His discovery started it all, but he was not to blame. Over the years he had become delusional. For a while his kingdom almost seemed to disappear. Then in a period of only three months, a dark shadow covered the sky. High in the air stood the Clockwork kingdom of Automina. From this flying fortress, Pulk launched his attack on the humans below. He changed his name to Ora Patera, Lord of Clockwork.
With a common enemy, the people began to, once more, get along. But in spite of this Ora was blinded by his delusion of a perfect world.
Not pretty but it gets the job done.
This RP is based off of Sword Art Online. However it will not be exactly like sword art. The basis of the RP is your character plays the game only to find out they can't leave. It turns out that the only way to leave is to beat the game. However if you die in the game, you die in real life. So yeah. simple explanation, but should be all you really need to know.
Really isn't much to say. It is a sword wielder that can have a shield or dual wield. Shield will increase def but lower speed! and dual wield will increase strength but lower def. They will have decent stats all round.
Heavily Defensive character. Can wield mace or battle hammer, and will carry large shield(different types will have advantages over others) can be supportive or offensive in battle
Speed based character with moderate strength. will dual wield. Can use daggers or swords or both. Daggers will be weaker but will not slow them down. Swords will be stronger but will lower speed a little
A healer with only moderate healing abilities. However can heal outside of battle, and has moderate defense and decent attack. Rather slow. Wields maces
Healer characters who can strengthen party members. Have high magic and resistance of magic, but abysmal strength and low defense but decent speed. Can causes status alignments and cure party members. Few offensives spells, but they are rather good. They wont learn those for a while. Heavily supportive. Holds staff.
Magic based class, with high magic and resistance. Can summon a few creatures, and has many offensive spells. Low strength and basic defense. wields staff or mace. staff increases magic capabilities and mace increases strength. Some may help with magic.
High strength moderate defense low resistance. Wields Two handed weapons, and dual wields axes and hammers
Wields bow. High speed, decent attack low def. Can attack from afar, secondary of dagger or sword. can be support or offense
Wields flintlock pistol and sword. High speed, basic strength, below basic defense. Pistols are unable to be bought . One you start with is one you keep. Pistol is VERY slow to reload and only has moderate range at first, however deals heavy damage, and is upgradable. Some upgrades lower some stats to increase others.

Also, everyonce in a while I will cause damage to you if you do not make it happen yourself. There needs to be drama. I will not kill off a character unless the player drops out or wants to make another
-3: Leveling up will be determined by how I feel each character responded to battle. That is the best way I can figure it out. Support characters, yours will be how well you respond to your partners.
