First I'll re-post the description from the IntChk
So, here is my idea for a casual role play about political intrigues in an original medieval/fantasy setting. I hope to get at least four other players to take part, each would have control of one of the main houses but more can join as minor lords or other things if the player can provide a good backstory. A player can control multiple characters that are part of their house but try to keep the numbers relatively low so things don’t get too confusing. The “goal” of the game would be to make your house prosper and work towards gaining greater power and influence.
I should also mention that this is the first role-play I’ve written. I’ve been roleplaying for a while but had to take a break due to college work (hence my low number of post) so please give me a chance. I would be playing as the royal house and also occasionally dictate events like natural events (special weather, earthquakes) or some special plot event. I would not take control of other player’s character nor will I just kill anybody off just because I feel like it. Also as this is probably going to come up, yes I was inspired by A Song of Ice and Fire (Game Of Thrones) but I didn’t want to use an already made up world so I made my own which therefore resemble that of ASOIAF.
"Edit: Should mention that the seasons follow the same pattern as the real world (3 months per seasons) not that of ASOIAF."
Kingdom of Syrenos
25 years ago King Ragon Lorender III died of illness leaving the kingdom of Syrenos in disarray due to his weak leadership. Ambitious minor lords battled to rise above their rightful places, southern island declaring independence and most importantly what became known as the Northern Rebellion. The then High-Lord of the North began to battle for territories to create his own kingdom. However, Tarenius Lorender the 17 years old heir to the Kingdom rallied his allies and still loyal troops to restore order to Syrenos. After eight months of hard fought battles Tarenius challenged the Northern High-Lord to a duel and defeated him, thus restoring order to the north. Tarenius was crowned King Tarenius Lorender II on his 18th birthday and within a few months complete order was restored to the kingdom. And now 25 years later the kingdom is still at peace thanks to Tarenius’s firm but fair rule, continuing the 200 years of Lorender rule. (Side note: The player who chooses to be the Northern High-Lord cannot be a son or a brother of the above mentioned one. At most he can be a nephew or a cousin.)
The Kingdom of Syrenos is divided in five parts, a central, north, south, west and east region. The Kingdom capital Grand Syrenos is located on an island in the centre of a lake in the central area. The capital is virtually the centre of the kingdom and the meeting point of all the Syrenosian main roads.
The North is a vast expanse of coniferous forests. The climate is colder than the rest of the country. The northern border of the country is a mountain chain called the Dragon Peaks and has never been crossed. The North’s biggest city is called Iceford.
The East consists mostly of hills. The eastern lands are rich in gold and various precious metals. Therefore the Eastern High-Lord holds the greatest amount of wealth in the kingdom. The eastern edge of Syrenos is marked by another mountain chain called the Elder Mountains; they’re only half as small as the Dragon Peaks and have been crossed. The East’s primary city is called Elderwind.
Beyond the Elder Mountains are the Grasslands, seemingly endless plains where only few nomadic tribes live. It is said that the first people of Syrenos came from lands beyond the Grasslands following a cataclysmic event but no records exist as it happened around 1500 years ago.
The South is warm and has lots of sunlight. The South’s greatest produce is its wine. The South’s primary source of income is trading with southern City-States and the newly independent Island Countries. The Southern border of the Kingdom is the southern coast. The seat of power in the South is called Suntown.
The City-States are a group of independent cities not part of the Syrenosian Kingdom. They are located on the southern continent which is mostly sandy desert.
The Island Countries are an alliance of the Island of the South Sea which became independent from Syrenos following the death of King Ragon.
The West is the agricultural centre of Syrenos ergo most of the food of the Kingdom is produced there. To the West lies the Great Sea which is the western end of the Kingdom and the known world. The Western High-Lord resides in the city of Whitestone.
The religion of Syrenos is called the religion of the One of Four. There are four divinities which each symbolise different aspect of the world and one central divinity which represents the whole and unity of all things. Each of the four is associated with a point of the compass which reflects in their names. Additionally each has their main altar in their respective region.
The first is the Eastia. She’s pictured as a young girl of about 10. She represents beginnings, innocence and protects children and teachers.
The second is Nordion. He’s pictured as a man in his twenties. He represents work, effort and protects workers, artisans and soldiers.
The third is Southienne. She’s pictured as a mother in the middle of her life. She represents motherhood, emotions and protects families and lovers.
The fourth is Westion. He’s pictured as an old man. He represents endings, wisdom and protects the elderly and diseased.
The last one is just called The One. It is not represented as person. Its symbol is that of a circle. It represents unity and the fact that all four are parts of The One.
Syrenos traditionally uses the standard male heir inheritance but each High-Lord may use whichever methods they want within their own territory.
The game would begin with the four High-Lords coming to the capital for the funeral of the queen.
For Character/House sheets please follow my template below. (The seat of power of a High-Lord should be the primary city of their region which I mentioned above. I’m willing to change the names if someone can provide an alternative that suits them more.)

History of Syrenos
1,500 years ago, the first people arrived in the land of Syrenos from the eastern Grasslands. As for the reason of behind their exodus, it is not known. Legends speak of rains of fire and poisonous mists seeping out of the land. As for what actually happened nobody truly knows and it shall remain that way until someone reaches the Dark Lands and comes back.
The settlers quickly began to build their lives in their newly found homeland and within a hundred years close to a hundred small kingdoms were formed on the lands of Syrenos. The “Era of the Hundred Kings” as it came to be known was a time of war. Every king wanted to be greater than his neighbours; kingdoms rose and fell in a seemingly endless cycle for close to 200 years.
However, the cycle of violence began to wane when five Kings rose above the others. The five Kingdoms began to stabilize and an era of peace began. However the peace was short lived and war was soon raging again. Alliances were forged and broken, battles were won and others lost. Entire royal families were decimated and new one rose to replace them. And yet within all that bloodshed and violence each of the kingdoms remained much as they were at the beginning. The status quo remained for another 500 years.
Then one fateful day a man from common birth rose above others to stop the wars. That man whose birth name has been forgotten rallied the peasants behind him by spreading a new faith through the Kingdoms. That faith was that of the Four that are One, the man claimed to be a messenger from the One sent on earth to stop the madness of men. Against all odds the man and his followers began to win battles against the Kings’ armies one after the other which brought more and more followers to their cause. Eventually the Five Kings were left with no choice other than to kneel in front of the self-claimed messenger of the gods. The man then proclaimed himself the one true King of the land and renamed himself Ogian Syrenion first king of the Kingdom of Syrenos.
While Ogian Syrenos was no doubt a great king much less could be said from his descendants. They became misguided, blinded by the notion they were not mere mortal, but envoy of the gods sent to rule over man. Yet, despite their faults the Synerions ruled for 600 years. This all came to an end when Vylerios Synerion became the king. The man’s mind was twisted and his soul darker than a moonless night. The mad king began to drive the Kingdom to ruin and so the Five High-Lords rose against the King in battle. The war was short and the forces of the High-Lords suffered almost no casualities. In the last battle Valius Lorender the High-Lord of the central region, killed the mad King and to avoid further bloodshed the other High-Lords agreed to name Valius Lorender the new King. And so the Lorender dynasty has ruled the lands since.

Note on the dates and Calendar: A year in Syrenos consist of 360 days divided in Four months of 90 days each, one month for each season. As for the years they are counted since the establishment of the Kingdom by Ogian Synerion. The game would begin in the beginning of summer in the year 823.
Note: The red lines are the main roads and were supposed to meet at the capital byt that kinda went wrong. The dotted lines represent the borders between the areas and please remember that the capital is on a lake but you can't see it on the map because the city icon ended up being bigger than the lake and there was nothing I could do exept making the lake three times bigger than it's meant to be. Also sorry that the names of the cities are not written but the text editor of the software I was using was being a b*tch.
The Four Paladins are the four greatest knights in the Kingdom. Noble birth, sex and wealth are irrelevant when it comes to obtaining a position amongst the paladins. Only two things matter to one who wishes to become a paladin. The first is unwavering loyalty to the crown and the second and most important, one’s skill with a blade. The stories in Syneros states that “The blade of a Paladin is worth that of a hundred men”. Paladins serve for life and must relinquish all titles and land.
Char is a 38 years old man of common birth. He has sleeked back straw light hairs and blue eyes with a small scar between them. Char was only thirteen at the time of the Northern Rebellion living in the small village of Aznavel in the north of the Central region. One day his village was attacked by Northmen in a desperate effort to save his own life after watching his family being butchered in front of him Char picked up a sword from a dead soldier and fought back. Despite never having used a sword before the young man easily killed three of his attackers but eventually got surrounded. When he thought his final moment had come, a group of royal soldiers charged at the enemies. Amongst the soldiers were both the prince, Tarenius Lorender and another Paladin “Selmios Bastion”. After the battle the prince was shocked that a single boy with no experience with arms was able to do what Char did. Tarenius saw something in Char and desided to make him his squire and have him train by Bastion. Throughout the war and the following years Char proved himself to be one of the greatest knights the Kingdom had ever know. The nicknamed the “Red Comet” came from his distinctive crimson armor and blinding speed in battle. Char prefers to fight with a bastard sword and no shield or helmet. On one occasion the King asked him why he fought in a manner that would almost certainly leave him with grave injuries if he were to get hit. To which Char responded “Then I just have to avoid getting hit.”
Selmios is a 65 years old man that comes from a minor noble family of the Southern region. Selmios has short white hair and thick but short and well-trimmed beard, green eyes and the tanned skin of southerners. Selmios became a Paladin at the age of twenty two under the previous King. Selmios aside from his duties as a Paladin, took charge of the training of Tarenius Lorender when he was but a boy prince and later on Char Aznavel. Selmios however felt he was too old to take charge of the training of prince Leontesian and left the honours to Char. Even though Selmios is still considered to be one of the greatest warriors in the land he has been feeling his age catching up to him in recent years. The moniker of “The White” came from his pristine white armour, shield and long sword. When his hair eventually turned white his name became all the more fitting.
Valeria is the only woman that is currently part of the Paladins. She is 29 and the younger sister of the late Queen by 10 years, however her being related to the queen is in no way related with why she is a Paladin. Like her sister she picked up archery and fencing when she could barely walk. Her lord father who had a large estate in the central area never had any sons and so raised his daughters like boys. Due to her great skills in battle Valeria’s older sister impressed the young king so much he fell in love with her. Like her sister Valeria became a great warrior but unlike her sister it was not a great man that fell for her but the opposite. The moment she first met “The Red Comet” she was in love but sadly for her the feelings were never mutual. She decided that rather than spending away from the man she loves she would be beside him as a comrade in arms instead of a wife. Since she has yet to have children of her own she deeply loves her nephew and niece but consider them more like younger siblings since they are in fact closer in age to her than she was with her actual sister. Valeria’s weapon of choice is a rapier which she uses in conjunction with a small shield. She became known as Ravenblade due to her black hair and swiftness with the sword.
Anyone who looks at Roberion would not wander for a second why he’s called “The Titan”, standing at 6”5 he is truly a giant amongst men. The 32 years old man was the heir to some big lord from the western region. However, Edward cared little for the duties of lordship and spent all his time training in the way of the sword. Thanks to his immense size and strength Edward can swing a claymore like it’s a simple long sword. After fighting in many tournaments and crushing bandits, small rebellions and gaining many scars in the process Edward was chosen to be a Paladin after one died following a hunting accident.
The Black blades are an order of knights under direct control of the king. The members are carefully chosen and while they need not be part of the nobility, like regular knights they must all be men. The Black Blades always number 200 and all carry the same equipment. They wear an armour of black steel plates with each edge lined with gold and sword and shield that follow the same colour scheme to match the Lorender banner.
They are the religious order of the primary religion of Syneros. They have priest, sisters, and monks. They are the one who generally are in charge with taking care of the sick and wounded. The one at the head of the religion is called the High-Priest.
Post Order: No double posting unless I allowed it first.
Inactivity: If you are somehow unable to post for more than a day please tell me. Also please give an actual reason, doesn't have to be detailed too busy or no access to the computer/internet is enough.
Post Content: Please remember that this is an all age forum so try to keep your posts appropriate. While I don't have much of a problem with gore, try to keep it reasonable. As far as sexual content goes, you can say "X slept with Y" and stuff like that but do not post details beyond that. If two players wish to role-play the intercourse, do it through private messaging. (And if a third player is for some reason eavesdroping IC foward the messages to said player, if he/she wishes it.)
That's it for now but this section may be updated as needed.
