King] - One of our main guys to focus on. The name says it all; He rules over a castle, treats his servants like crap, and is the true entity of evil itself. But even the coldblooded path of evil can have room for feelings, such as depression, anger, and madness. Taken by Wolfbat9008 (because I'm selfish).
Queen - Another main character. The Queen is meant to comfort her husband during times of need, as well as actually defend him during battle. She is almost as cruel as her husband, and will actually be required to wield a weapon skillfully in order to keep her place. She defends the King with her life. Open.
Offspring - This role is entirely optional, although quite important and quite a focus should it be introduced. This role is basically that of a 16-year-old prince or princess, who will overtake the throne of the King or Queen when either dies. They are susceptible to influence by anyone, even servants or heroes. So you can be the son or daughter of the Master, but be against him in the fight between good and evil. Taken by LJCOMICS.
Servants - Servants are pretty self-explanatory. They serve to take care of the castle, thwart the hero, cook the food, even do laundry. They are often treated like dirt, but if you swallow your pride and become an unquestionably faithful servant (and you just don't irritate anyone), you will get much better treatment. If you're of the opposite sex, there's even a tiny chance the King will flirt with you. He's not particularly faithful to his wife. Always open. Three spots taken by UnendingEmpire (court necromancer), BigPapaBelial (Executioner), ActRaiser (Traitor from the Hero Side), and Kaptian Johnson (Enslaved Hero).
Pets - Yes, even pets are a role in this castle. We haven't decided a setting yet, but the possible pet options will certainly be many. Most pets of the Master are probably going to be talking animals, mythical creatures or just really intelligent. However, some servants with certain privileges can be allowed pets as well; Do enough dishes and you can keep that stray cat you found in your trash yesterday. Several spots are Open, One spot taken by Wolfbat9008 (Enfarius the Wyvern).
Hero - The hero is supposed to stop the Master and his evil ways, like most heroes often do. He is righteous, valiant and brave, and willing to sacrifice himself to save others. The hero gets one artifact to fight the evil powers of the King with, and he gets companions that are the equivalent to Pets and Servants. The only difference is that they will be referred to as something else int he character sheets. Pets are called "Companions" and servants are called "Allies". The Hero is allowed to try and influence the Offspring of the King, trying to turn him good. Open, can have three Allies or Companions at one time.

Name: Garadan [Only Enfarius and the Queen may call him this; Others will be executed.]
Title: The King of Skulls, Shadowlord, the Wyrm King, the Great Defiler, the Black Tyrant, called "King" or "Sire" by his subjects.
Race: Unspecified, presumed human
Appearance: Garadan is rather tall, and beneath his typical garb, one will find his appearance equally mysterious and frightening. His hair is jet black, and his eyes are like rubies in the night. He appears to be a human with rather sharp features, though his fingernails are more like claws. He has a very skinny figure, almost skeletal, yet enough muscle to easily lift something fairly heavy. His ears come to a point, and his skin is as pale as the snow. Garadan tends to smell of marigold flowers, a symbol of pain and grief.
Weapon(s): His magic. No need to fight anyway, his servants take care of that.
Armor: A long dark cloak and a mask made from an animal skull, covered by a hood.
Power over Shadow, The ability of the king to manipulate shadow and the dark to do his bidding, these abilities include but are not limited to:
Shadow manipulation: The ability to produce shields and armor from available shadow.
Telepathy: Projecting ones thoughts through shadows around him to speak into the minds of others.
Summon Shadowkin: Giving birth to a powerful shadowkin, a deadly shadow assassin that can move through dark, and kill from the shadows.
Shadow Fire: Bringing forth a dark, baleful fire which can be raised like a normal fire or hurled like a fire orb.
Shadow Bolt: A fierce concentrated burst of hateful shadow.
Garadan receives a number of powers from his draconic companion, Enfarius. They are as follows...
Summon Enfarius - Garadan summons a large black wyvern from another realm, which he rides as a mount. This wyvern's eyes are almost like fire, and is capable of flight while having up to two people on it's back. He has named the reptile "Enfarius", which seems to mean "Dark One" in an ancient language.
Flame of Enfarius - Garadan fires a bolt of black fire from his mouth or hands, which will severely burn anything it touches and leave a wound that festers and putrefies.
Dragonic Shapeshift - Fueled by anger and fury, Garadan has the ability to shapeshift into a fully-blown dragon. He resembles Enfarius in this form, but looks much older and wears a bone mask that fits snugly over his face.
Venom - A single bite from Garadan, be it in human form or in dragon form, can inject venom into the foe. This venom actually causes the flesh to rot and decay in mere seconds, right on the foe's still-living body.
Summon <type of dragon>: Calling upon his bound servants, the King can summon forth a lesser dragon of almost any type to do his bidding.
Dragon Roar: A deafening blast of sound released by the king to stun his enemies.
Title: Mount of Garadan
Weapon(s): Claws, teeth, venom, and "shadowfire".
Enfarius has a limited supply of venom in his teeth. This venom will physically feel like scorching fire as it goes through the bloodstream, and can kill a man in about 30 minutes once administered. He only has a limited amount of venom in him, so if he uses it all up, he must wait three days to use it again.
Enfarius fires a ball of black fire from his mouth, which will severely burn anything it touches and leave a wound that festers and putrefies. He can only fire about five of these "black fireballs" per day.

Appearance: Standing nearly 8 feet tall. Glowing green eyes, under a heavy brow, and over a heavy blunt jaw. Takes more after his father a mountain ogre, then his mother a poor human. Bears the usual thick, brown skin of an ogre. With thick shaggy brown hair that reaches his shoulders, when not covered by his executioners hood. Has overly developed shoulder, back, chest and arm muscles, with lightly developed leg muscles. Built for swinging heavy weapons to do his work.
Weapon(s): Greatswords, and long hafted axes
Armor: Pin-striped trousers in blue and black. With heavy hob-nailed boots. Long, thick gloves with non-slip material on the palms. A thick cloth hood to give him that intimidating visage.
Trying to fix this light bulb, and running low on incense.
Probably something like a servant. Been playing disgaea 3 lately and I was thinking of possibly being something like almaz, though I may be something else, possibly a golem or some kind of necro-tech guy making robo-zombies with steam fists.
Um...dude, this is a medieval fantasy thing. There's no technology higher than rope and human hands...
There's magic, but that's supposed to be incredibly hard to control. And I don't think golems would fit in at all with what we're doing. And since this is based off the Black Cauldron, we have no zombies at the start. Zombies are a rare occurrence and require great power to raise.
