Mass Effect: The Reaper Invasion
Aboard the Redoubt Captain Kiley makes his way to have a vid chat with his superiors. He steps inside the room and the room goes dark. Then, a hologram of Admiral Hackett appears in front of him.
"Captain. I've gotten reports on your squad that will be boarding the Redoubt."
Kiley raises an eyebrow. "We actually got some people? Glad they could support. Who do I have?"
The Admiral pulled out a small pad and began to smile at the names.
"You've got a Turian. Name's Darius Stak. Says here he is one of the best snipers and one hell of an Infiltrator."
Kiley smiled. "A Turian? I'm sure Palaven is being hit hard. Glad to know we can count on them.
"The Turians will always be great allies. Just like the other races in the Galaxy. Moving on. Says here you have got a Salarian coming your way. Name's Salum Aran. He's an Engineer like you. So you two have that in common."
Kiley kept his same smile. "Salarian? Wasn't expecting that. But heck, I'll gladly take another Engineer."
Hackett shook his head and coughed to continue. "Moving on. You've got another human. 1st Lieutenant Elijah Bonnell. Says here the man is quite the exceptional Adept. You may remember him in the Alliance training."
Kiley began to try to remember. "The name sounds familiar but I can't place the name with a face."
Hackett nodded sternly. "You'll have time to get to know him later. Moving on. Last but not Least, you've got a Quarian. Name's Aela'Mal vas Rayya. Shows she's quite the skilled Vanguard. You've got quite the diverse squad Captain. Make them count. They should be arriving shortly."
Captain saluted his Admiral and gave a firm, "Aye aye sir."
Hackett tapped the screen and gave a firm, "Hackett out." Then his figure disappeared. Captain Kiley turned and returned to his quarters. He was going to wait for the whole squad to arrive and meet with them all in the comm room.
Aela'Mal was on her way to the Redoubt. She had been skeptical about leaving her people during this time but her helpful nature got the best of her. She had to admit, the flight was an awkward one. She barely said a word. But she was happy it was almost over as she saw the Redoubt coming closer.
Then, her small shuttle reached the Redoubt and thus the boarding process began. She said a small goodbye to her Quarian pilot but he said nothing and stayed in his seat. She scoffed and boarded the Redoubt. Upon boarding she was greeted with a peppy human who instructed her to follow certain guidelines. She wanted to ignore them but she knew they were mandatory when boarding a new ship. She followed them and then found her way to the Comm room where she was instructed to stay until the Captain arrived.
She was alone. She was alone in a room filled with unknown technology and an unknown ship. She had nothing to do but wait. She had no idea who else was coming..or even if their captain was here.
Something slammed outside Salem's room. His door slid open and a figure walked in. The figure hit Salem with it's foot. "Wake up!" A voice said. The voice got a grumble as a response. Another hit. "Get up!" Salem rolled over to face the figure. "Pack light, Salem. You'll be heading out in the next half hour. " The voice said. Salem looked up to see the face of the figure. It was his superior. "Humans are requesting someone to fill a position in a strike team. You fit the bill." His superior walked out. Salem quickly got up and went after the salarian. "Sir, where am I being sent to?" Salem asked as he caught up. His officer took him to landing docks. "The Redoubt, human ship, you can change in the shuttle. Your possessions are on there too." The salarian led Salem to a shuttle that was ready to take off. Salem walked in. "Good luck, Salem." Before Salem could get in a response, the shuttle's door slid close.
A pilot rapped his fist against the side of the shuttle's wall, "One minute!" Salem woke from his daydream. He stood up and grabbed a case that was next to his seat. He went to the door and held a handlebar above to steady himself. "30 seconds!" The shuttle shifted, which made Salem wobble back and forth. "10 seconds!" The pilot said. Ten seconds passed and the shuttle was linked to the Redoubt. The door slid open and Salem walked forth. As soon as he passed the door's threshold, it shut behind him. He was part of the Redoubt's crew now. Atleast, he was part of the crew until the mission was over.

As his shuttle approached the Redoubt Darius strapped himself in. He had been in hundrds of ships and trusted that the pilot would dock without any mishaps, but almost all servicable ships had been conscripted and outfitted to fight the reapers so he didnt trust the integrity of this one. he held onto the handle of his sniper as the ship finally rested onto the connecting platform. "Safely docked now Darius" Came the voice over the intercom "Its bben a good trip, palavin be with you"
"Thanks Octavous, and with you" Darius smacked the side of the ship as he stepped through the door, it echoed ombinously, god he was glad to be off that shuttle. Confidently striding forward Dariuslofted his pack over one shoulder and walked over to the closest crew member. "Darius Stak, I've been transfered onto a captain Riley's team. Where can I drop off my stuff? Then tell me where Riley is." Darius' hard eyes stared down at the women coldly.
"Ermmm...here is a map, your room is marked...here" She pointed to a small room near by. "And captain Riley is currently in vid com with admiral Hacket so if you wait in your qauters i'm sure he will come and find you." Darius nodded his ascent and stode off again. If he was going to ahve to wait for Riley he might aswell use his time well. Time to clean his rifle again, 'You're Only as Reliable as Your Gun' was his saying.
The Confused Timelord
Elijah's ship had just arrived. He was wearing his standard alliance uniform. On his back he carried the pieces of his armor and in the two bags he held in his hands were he two weapons and clothes. He made his way to the shuttles from there he would take a short trip to the Redoubt. Once he was on the shuttle the trip lasted less then five minutes before it docked within the ship. Once it was docked Elijah made his way off the shuttle and looked around. It appeared to look like every other alliance ship he had been on. Two shuttles a landing vehicle and some miscellaneous boxes. Elijah walked forward he was greeted by a Operation Chief. "Sir. Are you 1st Lieutenant Bonnell?" The Operation Chief asked. Elijah nodded his head once. "Sir you'll find your room on the third floor in the crew quarters there will be a room marked with your name on it." The Operation Chief said. Elijah nodded his head once more. "Thanks." He said. Elijah then started to walk toward the elevator that lead to the different floors. Elijah pressed a button and the elevator started to move. The elevator stopped on the third floor which was the crew quarters. He walked a bit till he found his room. He opened the door. He saw that it had a bit of furniture. A desk with a chair, a lamp, a dresser, and a alliance issued bed which meant it would be comfortable but only after a extremely hard days work. He then placed all his stuff on the bed. Once it was down he started going through the gear he brought and placing them in the correct spots.
The Salarian looked around and spotted an elevator. He hurried himself towards it and pressed a button to call it down. As he walked towards it, an Operation Chief came by him. "Are you.." The Operation Chief looks down at a datapad. "Salem Aran, correct?" Salem nodded in response. "Take the elevator up to the third floor, you'll find your room in the crews quarters. Your room will have your name on it." He immediately took off and went inside the elevator. He pressed the button that had a three on it. It lit up and the elevator doors slid close. As the elevator ascended, it played a nice tune. It stopped at the third floor and the doors slid open. Salem got off, a few crew members passed him and got on the elevator. He didn't pay much attention to them.
He began to search for his room. As he looked for his room, he saw a few names. Elijah, Darius and Aela'Mal on the other rooms that were near his. He found his name, Salem and entered his room. It was barren. That made him wonder if he could get a requisition order. He set his case on the desk and took a sit in the chair. He tapped the table with his fingers. He started to think about where their Captain was. Hopefully, the Captain would come shortly and explain the mission and all the other guidelines, rules and whatever else there was needed to be explained.

((OOC: Sorry for late replies. Classes started up again and I got a bit behind ))
Kiley waited in his quarters. He had received a few notifications on the squad members. The Quarian and the Salarian and the Turain and Elijah had all arrived and were becoming acquainted to the Redoubt. He hoped they were all liking the change in ships. He also knew it must be hard for all of them...giving up protecting their homes and species to come help him. So he was willing to be lenient with all of them. So now it was time. Kiley opened up his closet and found a standard Alliance suit. He dressed himself in the suit and walked over to his terminal. He knew all the squad members had terminals in their rooms. Also, they all had Omni-tools. So they should get the notification.
Kiley typed up a quick messaged welcoming the squad members and told them to meet in the comm room. The room was on the 3rd floor of the Redoubt. Kiley clicked send and the message sent. He drew a heavy breath and began to make his way to the comm room.
Aela waited in the room quietly. She noticed all the computers and Alliance equipment all over the room. She looked away from it all...but her curiousness got the best of her. She was always fascinated by human technology so before long she started to type random things and click on random things. But her fun was cut short by a stout woman who interrupted her.
Aela quickly shot up and put her hands behind her back. "Uhm..yes ma'am?"
The soldier raised an eyebrow and scoffed. "Well, your quarters are on the second floor. Have you any changes you would like to see to them then let us know." The soldier walked away and Aela decided to leave the computers behind.
She made her way up the elevator one floor and eventually found her quarters. The room looked rather boring. Maybe she could spruce it up a bit? Maybe. She laid her stuff down and started to sit down on the bed but right before she did her Omni-tool beeped giving her the word to make her way to the Comm room. Aela gave a huff and then headed back to the elevator.
She made her way down and finally found the comm room. Of course she would get there before Captain Kiley. She took a seat at the square table in the room. Before she knew it the Captain arrived.
He walked in the room and moved to the head of the table. He gave a nod to Aela and she returned the nod. "Welcome aboard." He said to her. Aela got up to stand to Kiley. "Happy to be aboard." Kiley extended his hand for a shake and Aela returned it. "I have to be honest I wasn't expecting a Quarian." He smiled at her.
Aela smiled under her mask. "Yeah. Well we Quarians like to surprise." The two ended the talking and waited for the rest of the squad to arrive.
Darius' omni tool beeped and flashed. Ameeting in the comm room already, atleast the alliance was efficient. He quickly snapped the magazine back into his rifle before checking the safety was on. Standing up he opened his pack. It held in it his M-6 Carnifex, which he had specifically requested if he was going to have to work away from Palaven, a box filled with spare gun and armour parts, in case of damage of he just wanted to refit his own equipment, and a small rock. He carried this rock wherever he whent, it was a stone from his home on Palaven. He had decided that he would never fight away from Palaven's soil and so this was his way of being close. It also comferted him to know that whilst he was alive, there was a piece of Palaven still worth fighting over. Quickly standing he made his way out his door. Lookibng round he could see that the other rooms now housed an occupant each. Interesting he thought, the ship must be larger than he thought since he hadnt noticed any other shuttles coming in when he landed. Stepping confidently into the hall he marched down it untill he came to a room marked 'Comms'. The door slid open and Darius came in, the comm room was outfitted with some of the most up to date equipment and it all looked well maintained. Already sitting there was a Human, must have been Captain Riley, and a Quarian. Aela'Mal Darius seemed to remember from his comically short briefing. Stepping forward he offered a hand to the captain. "Darius Stak, former Sergent of the Turian Blackwatch, at your service."
The Confused Timelord
Elijah had just finished placing his gear in the spots were he wanted them. Even with all his stuff in the room it still looked a little bland, Elijah decided to ask for some shore leave next time they stopped at a station. Elijah heard a beeping sound on his omni-tool. He saw that it was a message to go to the comm room. Elijah sighed he always hated being read the lists and procedures by the ships CO. Elijah walked slowly but with a purpose. He was trying to get a fell for the ship and where everything was. Elijah eventually made his way to the comm room. He walked in and saw that some of the group had already arrived. He was slightly surprised to see a Quarian here since they usually stayed with the Migrant fleet. Elijah also saw that a Turian was aboard also. Elijah then noticed the captain. Elijah took a few steps forward and raised his right hand into a firm hand salute. "1st Lieutenant Elijah Bonnell reporting as order Sir!" Elijah said. Elijah stood at the position of attention with his right hand up in a salute, he was waiting to for the Captain to respond.
Before Salem could get comfortable, his omni-tool lit up. He looked at the notification. The Captain wanted to meet in the comms room. Salem grabbed his case that was on the desk. Immediately after, he went to the comm room, just like everyone else. As he walked in, he noticed a few of the other occupants that were with him. Among them was Captain Kiley. "Salem Aran, STG Operative, Engineer, Reporting in." Salem said quickly. "Nice to finally be aboard." He looked at his squad, studying them. A female Quarian, male Human and a male Turian. He wondered what their capabilities were. Most importantly, he wondered what the mission was. He stood near Elijah and nodded at the human. Then, he paid attention to the Captain, waiting for him to respond.

Kiley was impressed. The whole team responded to the message he sent out rather rapidly. He then decided to speak to the first person who spoke to him. It was the Turian. He put a big smile on his face. He was always eager to meet a Turain. Kiley proceeded to shake his hand. "Ahh! Darius. I've read your report. Heard only but good things. Though..." Kiley stopped shaking his hand. "My thoughts...are with Palaven. I'm so sorry." He gave a nod to the Turian.
Kiley then turned to the Lieutenant. "At ease Lieutenant." Kiley gave him a pat on the back. "We don't need to do that everytime." He laughed. "Now, I hear you're quite the skilled biotic? Should be one great asset to the team." He gave him a nod as well and then Aela walked up to the two humans.
"A biotic hmm? I'm part biotic." Even though she had her suit and mask on she was smiling. Now she didn't feel so alone.
Kiley then finally turned his attention the Salarian. "Ahh, Salem! STG work honed your skills. Nice to see another engineer as well. You're always welcome aboard the Redoubt." He gave a nod to him. "I'd love to hear about your work for the STG as well. I mean, if it isn't classified and all." He laughed and turned to Darius. "Same for your work with the Turian Blackwatch."
Kiley then walked to the head of the table. He placed his hands on the table and dropped the happy tone. "Moving on. Most of you have seen what the Reapers are doing..and what they are capable of. If we don't do something, we're all going to die." He looked to each of them. "Now, we aren't going to be taking the Reapers head on. But you all have been summoned because of your talents and expertise in battle. We are going to be part of an elite strike team designed to be one of the best. We begin our first mission soon. Any questions?" He looked at each of them.
