When Humanity Falls.
This is an RP based on the Metro 2033 and Last Light games and books. You do not need a lot of knowledge about it though. I will explain everything that you need to know. It might look complicated at first, but due to the really basic equipment it really isn’t.
2013: A nuclear war occurred and a bomb struck Moscow. A large amount of Moscow’s population and tourists had been forced to relocate to the underground metro stations in search of refuge from the outside world. Above the ground was a high peek of radiation. You’d be unable to breath, unable to eat anything and you’d be unable to live there longer than a full day. At some places the radioactivity would be high enough to boil water. Eventually, those who settled in the metro stations made it their home and then soon there were independent station-countries. Not long after that, factions grew, starting with the new Soviet Union and the Fourth Reich (or neo-Nazi’s). Those small factions started to grow and wanted to control the whole underground metro and its resources. Those stations that refused to join either side were massacred, raided or simply destroyed.
Years later: Besides the danger of both the Fourth Reich and the New Soviet Union there were also the Mutants. Mutants are creatures that were once animals or humans and have been changed due to the radioactivity. In this RP I will only use a few of them;
Spoiler- Dark Ones: Also called ‘Homo Novus’ which means New Man. These creatures are humanoid creatures, supposedly descended from humans who survived the nuclear disaster but weren’t allowed into the underground Metro system. They have somehow adapted to the new world. They are rarely seen but highly aggressive towards people. Killing them is merely impossible. Due to the Dark One’s telepathic abilities they prove to be very dangerous. You do not want to get touched by one of those.
“In the light of the spotlight, you can see how the bullets tear at their glossy bodies, how they're being pushed backwards, how they fall; but they get right back up again, rise to their full height and march on. And again, hoarsely now, because its throat has already been pierced, a sinister howl rings out. „
—Metro 2033 Novel
- Librarians: Librarians are basically big gorilla like creatures with strong arms that are highly intelligent. They are the inhabitants of the waste of Moscow. Librarians aren’t very hostile but very territorial. They hate noise, sudden movements and eye contact. When you get close to them and you have to pass them, lower your gun and stare at the ground, then slowly pass them. If they do attack you then know this, you’re going to need a lot of ammo to get them down and you will most likely attract more of them.
- Demons: Demons are large predators that will go after the slightest movement, especially when you’re out in the open. They are only encountered on the surface. Their seizes vary from the seize of a cat to the size of a large horse. On their back they have powerful dragon-like wings. The larger the creatures the bigger the width of the wings. Demons usually bite, scratch and when you’re really unfortunate they’ll grab you and let you fall down mid-air.
- Nosalises and Watchers: Both are hunters that hunt in packs, usually mixed together. They come with great numbers that vary between 4 till 10. They are doglike creatures. When a watcher sees you, it’ll make a strange howling noise which will alarm the rest of his pack. They aren’t very strong, but the fact that they come with many make them dangerous. Both of them live in the underground metro and the surface.
- Ghosts or Phenomena: Basically they are black shapes of human beings that died due to the nuclear bomb or radiation. They are not hostile but listening to their voices, that echo through the pipes, and touching their shadows might cause you a lot of harm. Even though they aren’t hostile like the others listed above they are probably the most disturbing. You can hear the laughter of young children, the weeping of a mother or cries for help that might cause you to get off the right trail and get lost in the endless tunnels. They only appear in the darkest parts in the tunnels.
Equipment: equipment is very important. Especially for a Stalker.
Spoiler-Gas masks and filters: These are necessary if you want to go up to the surface. You won’t get far without it. When you start to get trouble breathing you have to change the filter, so take some with you. Filters can also be found near killed Rangers or Stalkers. So don’t worry, there are plenty around if something is keeping you from getting back in the Metro system.
-Armour: Might come in handy when you get attacked by, let’s say, a horde of Nostalises?
-Weapons: You can wear up to three weapons. Just pick them from the list on this site:
-Flashlight: As you will be going into dark places or you might get stuck on the surface at night, a flashlight will always be handy. The battery power is horrible though ..
Extras can always come in handy. But they will make you move even slower than you already did with all the gear and loot that you might have when you return to the metro. You can pick up to three of them. But the more you have and the bigger it is, the slower you get and the higher the chance is that a Demon will pick you up and might choose you as his dessert. But then again, when someone is wounded, your battery is empty or when you have to know when to swap your filters.
-Watch (Let’s you know when to change your filter without the big possibility to suffocate)
-Night vision goggles (keep in mind that you might see more than with a flashlight, but the battery dies faster)
2028: Our characters are Stalkers. Stalker is the general term in the metro system for any individuals who search the surface for valuable supplies and keep the metro tunnels safe for the humans within. Most people call them crazy and insane for going to the surface or wandering the dark and dangerous tunnels. Their base is in Polis, the capital of the underground Metro system. They aren’t involved in a lot of problems between the Reich or the Soviet Union.

We can work out the plot together. You do not need a lot of knowledge about the game or the books. Let me know what you think!
As long as you write at least one useful paragraph I’m already happy. Preferably more, but one is alright. You do not need to be a professional Roleplayer. I’m already satisfied when I know what you mean and I know what your character is doing. Me myself am not that skilled either, so really. Don’t worry.
I'd like to do this one through Skype, Email or PM.
