-In 1994 the initial gate expedition went to Abydos (Stargate Movie).
-The gate did not open in 1997 as it did in the series.
-Instead the gate opened in 2010, a team was sent to Abydos to find everyone dead including Daniel Jackson.
-It was decided the facility was inadequate so a new one was constructed in Alaska It has a garage where the old gateroom was which includes vehicles to be sent through the gate.
-So far no gate teams have been sent since the construction of the new facility, however a mission is being planned for Chulak to save a captured US.Airman that was captured during the attack on Cheyenne mountain.
At 0800 Hours on June 1st 2010 the room designated as "The Gateroom" in the Cheyenne Mountain Complex came under attack. Aliens came through a device known as the Stargate, after taking an airman prisoner they returned through the device. Luckily security cameras caught what we are calling the Gate Address. The location where they went we are designating as P1-231, however this is a different location to where the original Stargate Mission was sent in 1994. Due to this purpose a mission was sent through the Stargate to the planet locally identified as Abydos.
Due to this a second mission was sent to Abydos to try and surmise if anyone there knew anything else about this other planet, as after the original mission various gate addresses were attempted however none of them locked and opened the Stargate. When we arrived we found that the planet had been ravened, burn marks lay across many of the temple walls and the bodies found appeared to off withstood the same form of burns that our personnel in Cheyenne mountain withstood. Our team found Daniel Jacksons body and a diary noting some form of library of gate addresses. We now know for a fact that the Stargate goes to other places and that it can't be closed.
Due to the nature of the Stargate program and its importance not just too the American people but to the entire people of Earth the Stargate was moved into a specially constructed Facility with higher security protocols than that of the older Cheyenne mountain complex. In order to assist off world operations there is a large door in the gateroom which leads to several different vehicle bays, with Humvees up to tanks that are all capable of going through the gate. Each squad is designated with three humvees (Two M2 and one Mk19) and heavy armor will be used in heavier assaults or in rescue operations. For extreme circumstances where the Stargate is secure we also have at our disposal two AH-64 helicopters whose rotors can be folded and then moved through the gate.
It took three months to complete this structure due to the seriousness of the project. Now the teams are being assembled from the best of the U.S Army, Marine Corp and Air Force. The facility is ready, under command of Major General Albert Williams (U.S.A.F) the first team is being prepared to be sent to P1-231 on recon. If it is found that our missing servicemen and women are there then a rescue mission will be mounted.
No excessive Language. Swearing will happen.
No romance above PG-13. Want more, take it too PMs.
Remember that if you are in the military so falling in love with someone in the same squad will get you in trouble.
At the aforementioned if you disobey orders and get caught you will get in trouble.
If you have a major plot twist please hit myself or Assallya with it first.
A MALP is sent first and will use thermal imagining to discern if there is any nearby gate activity before every mission.
If the gate is in a civilized area the MALP will be used to open communications to alert them of our presence. If so vehicles will not be used unless otherwise authorized.
Vehicles are not to be left unattended.
If a civilization is found away from the gate one Humvee must disembark and four squad members should enter on foot. The other two squads should remain at the gate.
If a vehicle is damaged and cannot be recovered C4 explosives are to be used on the engine block to destroy any technology that can be used against us.
Civilizations must be properly assessed on their technological level before contact is initiated.
You will be put in a squad by me.
If you apply for Squad Leader and there is no need for an additional Squad Leader you will be offered Fireteam Leader if the spot is available. If not then you will have to fulfill another role.
Please include in your history why you were selected for the Stargate Program.
I don't mind the quality off your CS as long as you can assure me you can roleplay well. I understand some people prefer to develop their character IC.
Remember that if you are a Civilian you are outstanding in your field, if you are military you have done something outstanding worthy of placing you in the special forces.

2nd Lieutenant Amelia Travers
Rank: 2nd Lieutenant
Formerly United States Air Force, Formerly Unitested States Army, Formerly United States Navy... Dayumn.
Role: AH-64 Apache Pilot. If it can fly, she can pilot it.
Personality: Amelia is definitely a type-A personality and is fiercely competitive. She practically is a man. She had to be in order to make the top percentile and get into a fighter craft. Like any of the guys, she loves to go out and drink. It's only when the "other men" decide to treat her as woman that things get confusing.
Military Background: Amelia always wanted to be a fighter pilot, ever since she was a small child and saw them the Blue Angels. With such clear purpose she went straight the military academies. She eventually became a fighter pilot aboard a aircraft carrier. Unfortunately, as happens to some pilots her vision became less than the perfect 20/20 that fighter pilots needed. She then transferred to the U.S. Army and took the nine month training course in an AH-64 Apache. She had just done one tour in the gulf when she was approached by a mysterious officer who asked her if she wanted to do something completely, totally different. Apparently, her danger close covering of a pinned squad until they could be extracted got someone's attention. Learning about the Stargate Program completely blew her mind.
Since joining the Stargate program, she has been qualified with the M320 grenade launcher.
Note: Blue eyes.
US-MC Special Forces
Personality:Often Childish, Loyal to a fault.
Military Background: Mark Samson is fresh out of military training. He led his unit while in training and had got outstanding reports on his duty.
He has served one tour in Afghanistan, during one day on patrol his squad was hit by multiple IEDs destroying the other two Humvees in the small convoy until the only one that was still operational was his own. He managed to assist the medic stabilizing as many of the wounded as best they could and driving the vehicle out of the combat zone as taliban insurgents began firing on them.
For this he was recommended for a promotion from a Private First Class to a Lance Corporal and moved to the Marines Special Forces Unit. He spent several years working in Afghanistan in infiltration operations. In his third year of working in the Special Forces he was promoted to Corporal and then was re-assigned to the Stargate Program. He knew next to nothing on the program as most people had only heard of it in passing however the deployment was less interesting than he had hoped. It was merely guard duty within the Cheyenne mountain complex. He was on active duty on the day the Aliens attacked and when the alarm was sent he arrived in the gate room with everyone else to watch the Aliens step through the ring. When it was later decided that the Stargate would be actively used he was re-assigned to one of the designated "gate" teams.
Rank:Major General (O-8)
United States Air Force
Role:Stargate Commands Commanding Officer.
Personality: Rough but fair, not a good person to cross. He is fiercely loyal too his men however due to his nature he doesn't show it and usually appears to be a cruel military leader. Despite this he had good intentions his cruel nature is merely a show, as he feels that he cannot show any sign of weakness. As such he distances himself from the people under his command so that he doesn't gain personal feelings for anyone that could influence his decision process. He was chosen due to his experience and the fact he is a stickler for protocol so won't abandon it at any point.
This is gonna look like a dick move
The only reason I am not going into it as it is not important as you won't see him regularly.
Name:Doctor Simon Adams
Field Position:Yes, when necessary.
Personality:Stubborn, can sometimes miss jokes. Slightly arrogant.
Background:Simon who was originally from Scotland graduated from Glasgow University at 22 before moving to America after successfully obtaining a Visa. There he studied at MIT for another four years graduating at 26 in 1994.
He was hired as a civilian contractor for the Military being immediately approached by Stargate command after Major Samamtha Carter was reassigned to another project in Area 51. He immediately began working on the dialing system an discovered several problems in which data was actually effectively "lost" between the dialing computer and the stargate, which had resulted in the travelers being thrown/frozen while in transit. However despite his apparent fix for the problem he, much like Major Carter, could not make any combination on the gate work. He was one of the few laboratory technicians left in the Cheyenne Mountain Complex when the gate activated in 2010 and aliens walked through the gate shooting the place up.
He managed to recover the security footage and identify the Gate address in which the aliens had dialed out too. During the reconstruction effort he was tasked with rebuilding the entire Dialing computer in the new facility. Currently he is one of the few people off world on Abydos inspecting the DHD(Without removing anything) to try alter the dialing computer and make it more efficient.
Name: Dr. Elizabeth Lynne, PhD. Prefers to be called 'Lyn'
Appearance(Image or Description): At 5'5", she's not exceptionally tall, but not particularly short either. Her hair is, when not tied back into a loose ponytail, a bit down below her shoulders in back. She usually wears it in a loose ponytail, however. She's got a slight tan, but not much of one. Brown eyes. A decently athletic build, but she's not particularly strong. She can run fairly fast, however, as she was on her high school and college track team, and has endeavored to keep in pretty good shape for running, though again, hardly at the top of the 'running game', as it were. No one would call her beautiful, or even particular attractive. While not ugly, her overall looks are incredibly average, and she pays minimal attention to her appearance in of itself.
Field Position:Yes (where practical, obviously)
Personality: Lyn is a somewhat socially awkward woman. She has Asperger's syndome, (Link), which doesn't help things. While she has a fairly moderate case of the syndrome, and has spent years coping with it and adapting, it still hinders her social interaction, and makes people often consider her a bit weird. She doesn't easily make friends, and is a fairly private person, spending most free time alone with a book or a computer. She's also an outspoken liberal and athiest, and if you get her started on the topic of politics or religion, its rather difficult to make her stop, though she tries not to bring either subject up, to avoid arguements.
Background: Born to upper-middle class parents in Indianapolis, Lyn was exposed to books at an early age, and retreated into them as socially she made no progress in elementary school. She became fascinated with ancient history, in particular both Rome and Ancient Mesopotamia, and started teaching herself Latin when she was 12, from textbooks she bought at a used book store, discovering that she had a talent for languages. She then proceeded to take both Latin and Hebrew at High School. She studied Archeology and Linguistics in College as a double major, also learning Ancient Greek along the way. When she entered college, Dr. Jackson's speech had just happened, and she found herself intrigued by his arguements, even more so because he vanished shortly after that speech that saw him laughed out of Academia. Keeping her interest to himself, she went on to get a PhD in Archeology, specializing in Ancient Egypt and Mesopotamia, then a PhD in Ancient History, and finally a PhD in Linguistics. Shortly after her third PhD, at the age of 31, she tried to make a case for Doctor Jackson's Theories, using both the same evidence he did, and new evidence. Unfortunately, like Dr. Jackson, she was laughed out of Academia and she ended up stuck teaching Latin and World History in a small town high school because she couldn't find employment anywhere else. This was the state she was in when she was contacted to join the Stargate Program, after Dr. Jackson's body and notes were found.
Other: Lyn is a member of the SCA, and pretty good with a sword, though obviously she's never swung a real sword in a real fight with the intent to kill or injure anyone (she has swung a number real sword, and even owns an authentic Roman Gladius, but has never used them even in mock fights)
Name: Loran James Mirez, 'Rek'
Rank: 1st Lieutenant
Affiliation: United States Air Force / Stargate Command, formerly United States Marines
Age: 27 (as of September 2010 he'll be 28)
History: Born in London, England to American parents Jodie and Karl Mirez. His family sirname comes from his grandfather who was Hispanic.
Loran schooled in England until the age of 15 where his parents (due to his fathers work being finished) moved back to America. Since being a child he had always looked up at the sky and wondered what was out there. Settling down in Nebraska, Loran finished schooling over in the States and wanted to serve his country. Being of dual citizenship, was able to join the US Military.
He successfully entered training with the US Marine Corps in 2000 and entered active service a year later, earning the nickname 'Rek' from his squad mates during training for his ridiculous and reckless use of explosives and tactics, "or, so he says."
He served with merit and distinction in the Marines for 5 (+1) years serving in Afgahnistan and Iraq reaching at the rank of Lieutenant (and Squad Leader), Loran left the Marines in search of a new experience, feeling that there wasn't enouh opportunity in the Corps.
He applied for, and in 2007 was accepted into, the US Air Force as a commissioned officer. He was already a good all round soldier with excellent marks in all fields, and scored well in flight training. He initially took the role of ground Combat Controller, where his skills as a Marine came in handy, and he in fact served along side Marines and Rangers in the Iraq War, providing additional tactical support. He also served along side a Delta Force Team, as a member of the Airforce Special Forces, up to early-2010.
In early 2008 he had begun training on various aircraft (especially choppers) and was eventually assigned began to pilot fighter jets and various kinds of choppers for the Air Force for the next 2 years. It wasn't until mid-2010 that he was approached by a representative of the Stargate Program, and was offered a chance to join the top secret division of the United States Military to undertake special missions to defend our world from alient threat. "Who would actually pass up the chance to kick some alien butt?" He accepted the offer he was introduced to the Stargate and to what would eventually become known as Stargate Command.
Rank: Sergeant (E-5)
Personality:Casey is kind and helpful woman, she is generally opened minded to different ideas however she does advise to go with the safest plan. She is a type of woman who you can have a laugh with and to have a great conversation. Casey is naturally friendly it will take a lot of stuff to make her angry.
Military Background: Casey at the age of 20 enlisted herself to become a combat medic, she then completed her 9 week basic training which she knows basic soldiering skills so she can handle herself when in combat. She then went on to her advance training, which taught her emergency medical techniques, equipment sterilization and field sanitation methods. Casey has now been a combat medic for 3 years now.
Though a year later due to her great medic skills and her commitment to her duty she has been put on the stargate project, she had overheard her officers talking about this stargate before but she was shocked when they told her that they are transferring her to help with the stargate project.
Name: Dr. Meredith 'Rodney' McKay
Appearance(Image or Description):
Personality: Arrogant, condescending, easily exasperated with his colleagues, hypochondriac, hallucinates under extreme stress
Background: Genius, graduated with two PhD's, built a nuclear reactor in sixth grade. Eventually hired by the Air Force for work on the stargate Program, where he helped refine the calculations the Dialing computer used to determine Gate Addresses. Now is a premier scientific mind on the base, though he chafes under the leadership of Dr. Adams, who leads RT-1. Mostly because McKay thinks he's smarter than Adams, and that the good dr. is just holding him back
Name: Doctor Roy Olson, Ph.D
Field Position:Yes Without a doubt yes.
Role:RT-1 Researcher/ Engineer
Personality:A much more easy going then most of his associates. He is willing to help anyone who needs it. However he has a bit of a wild side. If there is such a thing for a Doctor of Engineering...
Background: He got his doctorate from MIT. He was brought into the program to research the materials that come through. He and Dr. McKay are constantly arguing over anything.
Name: John Creighton.
Rank: First Sergeant (E-8)
Age: Forty-Two (42).
US Marine Corps, Special Forces Command, 1st Marine Special Operations Regiment.
Role: Fireteam Leader, SG-1.
Personality: John is for the most part a no nonsense guy, only two things matter to him in life: The mission and the men under his command. While he does understand that he can't control every engagement he gets into, and people will die, he does his best to make sure that those who do die, don't die for nothing. And of course to make sure that they don't die in the first place. Outside of the field John is just like any other guy, he is your best buddy until you piss him off, and if you manage to do that, well, your day just tuck a turn for the worse.
Military Background: John's career in the Marines was for the most part uneventful, he served two tours in Iraq and four in Afghanistan. He was for all intensive purposes a career military man, he knew very little about anything else, other than how to serve. In 2003 he was selected to join the pilot program MCSOCOM Detachment One, which would go on to be the predecessor to MARSOC, which he would later also be part of. Considering the size of Det. One John was genuinely surprised when he was selected to join the program. He would go on to serve with Det. One until the founding of MARSOC, where at the rank of Sergeant he took on a training role, teaching Marines on the finer details of knowing how to kill someone a little more, than they already knew how to.
In the June of 20010 he was sent back to Afghanistan, but not in a combat role, much to his own disappointment. Instead he was tasked with many other Marines with training the Afghan National Army to actually be a Army worth a damn. It wasn't exactly easy considering the nature of ANA, and it's inability to adapt. He likes to think that he did drill enough training into their heads to save a few of them, needless to say it wasn't his fondest memories of Afghanistan. At some point later in the year he was contacted by by someone in the US Government offering him a position at the Cheyenne Mountain Complex, in a training and advisory role. He wasn't allowed to know any other information than that, unless he signed a NDA stating he wouldn't breathe a word of this to anyone outside the base.
Jumping at the chance to do something that was interesting, and the whole secrecy with the deployment just made him sign the contract on a whim. A few weeks later he found out exactly what was so secret about the deployment. The Cheyenne Mountain Complex was home to genuine alien artifact, of some manner. Nobody knew what it did exactly, or so he was told. But his orders were to train the base personnel, and so he did.
Until the Base came under attack.
When the alarms began he thought it was a drill, until he realised as a trainer, he would know about any drills. He mobilised all the units under his command, and headed to the so called 'Gate Room', and that ... that was where things just got weird. While he didn't arrive in time to stop three airmen from being killed, he did arrive in time to see the supposed 'Apophis' as he was leaving the through the 'Gate'. which frankly freaked him out, considering the man walked into a puddle and just disappeared.
This made him want to rethink his role on this as of yet unnamed program, he wanted to be part of it. Well he already was, but now he wanted to be part of it proper. He now knew what he was training these men for, and there was no way he was going to take no for an answer. It seemed that the people in charge of this program also agreed with him, and once the 'Gate' was moved away from Cheyenne Mountain Complex into a much more secure location he was assigned command over 'Bravo' Team, one of the three fire teams that made up the team later known as 'SG-1'.
He, like the rest of SG-1, were briefed on pretty much everything that the US Government knew about the 'Stargate'. Including that the gate had been used for a sanctioned mission to blow up for what amounted to be a God. Then they were told they were going through the rabbit hole.
Former US-Marine Corps SF.
Kerrie is mostly kind but an Approachable individual. Despite her innocent and young demeanor, Kerrie has learned to adapt and improvise to her surroundings. This has led her into becoming a strong, independent woman protective of those who Earn her trust but because of this she might not play well with others who push her buttons.
Quite Patient thanks her military, Kerrie knows that things can not be rushed. When they need to be though, She can possess a sense of urgency. While possessing the typical humour for a young woman like herself, The Latina does not tolerate tasteless humour or humour she may find offensive. But on her good days she can take a good laugh on the chin.
Kerrie Can have a Fiery Temper from her Latin side and this may sometimes be an issue , but she tries to keep a straight head depending on the situation. She is often persistent, going to extreme lengths to to complete her objectives and learned a few things about being adaptive. Considered a self sacrificing, selfless individual. The one way to describe Kerrie the best is in check with her emotions, Capable and full of surprises.
After successfully completing training for the US Marine Corps, Kerrie ended serving two tours in Iraq taking part notably in Operation Telic in 2003 and reaming there for the best part of two years and returned again in 2006 to serve another two year period. During her time serving in Iraq it was noticed and noted that Kerrie pulled of some hairy but successful operations and even pulled of some rather hot extractions when under heavy enemy fire and showed the see was certainly a survivor or just extremely lucky it was when Kerrie was promoted to Sergeant for her dedicated service and proving many of her peers wrong about her capabilities in the field.
Kerrie went on to serve one tour in Afghanistan in 2009 Operation Herrick, Once again her level of determination and adaptability was well noted while others believed she was pushing herself hard to prove herself. Her personality was another factor liked by her squad mates and got much respect from them on both fronts and got her the nickname 'Little Phoenix'. Recently in early 2010 Kerrie tour was cut short. Once back on american soil she was approached by a representative of the Stargate Program, and was offered a chance to join the top secret division of the United States Military because of her multiple skills and experience. She didn't know much about the project at all until her arrival other than being assigned to a gate team.

Deviations from the series:
All Goa'uld technology is the same as in the series.
Jaffa will be different however:
-Most the Jaffa will be ordinary TV Series Jaffa. However they will actually be tough unlike in the series and use actual tactics when against an enemy which is shooting at them.
-Each Goa'uld will have two legions of Movie style Jaffa. Movie Style are more ruthless, stronger and their helmets allow them to see in thermal. Their Staff Weapons also act as a powerful melee similar to that off the Halo Gravity Hammer.
