Welcome to Evolutionary! This is an experimental RP based off of something I did a while ago, on another site. Anyway, this takes place on a new planet, just formed from the rocks and dust and particles in space, mashing together and forming one big ball! With a molten core and a thin, hard crust on the outside, this apple pie of a planet is in for a burst of life! The lava has cleared and more advanced things have formed...
In this RP, you will play a realistic species that, like on Earth, evolves, changes, and develops with the new planet. The GM (aka me!) will, during each turn, describe the planet's changes. You, the commander of your species, will describe adaptations based on these changes! This way we will simulate a planet's life developing and interacting, populating the whole thing!
Your species will start as an extremely simple organism, most likely single-cellular or something small. You will have to describe, in good detail, how your species looks and functions, interacts, and where it lives. As time progresses, your species will change in shape and size, and maybe, just maybe, gain intelligent though! I must stress, however, that this is meant to be realistic so anything you do must make sense biologically (this planet will be similar to our universe's physics and elements).
The planet is finally taking shape! Life is springing up everywhere. At this point, hydrogen and oxygen atoms have fused, creating a world filled to the brim with deep oceans, lined at the bottom by cooled lava rock and large thermal vents, cracks in the surface which lead deep into the molten core. The air is rich with hydrogen, oxygen, nitrogen, and now some simple carbon life-forms are beginning to get a grasp of what this planet has to offer.
Posts will be at least 1 paragraph. At the beginning of each "turn", the world's changes will be described to you, which includes climate changes, land formations and movement, and any non-player species. After this, you will describe how your species has changed (if it has), population growth/decay, any movement or habitat changes, adaptations to the environment, new/different metabolic functions, etc. Turns will span thousands of years at first, but as organisms become more complex, the time frame will slow. Once everyone has posted the turn will end.

Can't wait to get underway! Who's ready for some Evolutionary! action?
